To the person who designed the quiet rooms and actually thought it could in any way be soundproof, you should retire. The quiet rooms actually serve to amplify the noise outside since sound waves travel much faster through glass mediums. It's like studying inside a fricking drum and someone (little kids with their building blocks) is beating on the outside. Another brilliant idea was placing the quiet rooms next to the children's area. Who puts building blocks and toys for kids in a library? It's a library. People come here to study or to read... preferably in silence. I would not recommend coming here if you have any intention of being productive. The staff are nice though.
Definitely don't go there if you have little kids, this place is not well designed, it's small and not enough variety.Usually, the kids zone must be separated from the adults section(ex: ground floor or first floor) or in a close area.I saw adults sitting in the youth section because of the lack of space in the library then people complaint about the noise from the little kids zone.I recommend to parent's going instead at Lakeview Library in atwater street much bigger the kids section are restricted apart from the adults area. The study room are not disturbed and it's more convenience for adults as well.I give 2 stars for the issue's in this library, I won't go again.
Being a local I was excited that the PC location was finally open again. Unfortunately the Quiet study rooms are not quiet. They are next to the children's area.. I notified an employee that it was very loud and asked if there were quieter study rooms somewhere - like the meeting rooms just outside. But the meeting rooms are holding storage at the moment and nothing was done about the screaming kids, who were drumming couches and toys. My partner and I had to leave, coffee shops are much more quiet then this library. Sadly do not recommend for any afternoon visits, if concentration is the goal.
I came to work to the Port Credit Library twice in the past two months. It's a beautiful place, nice building with a nice view over the park. However, the library is very noisy, at least it was both times I came in during regular work hours on week days. People don't really care about the noise they make, use their mobile phones, and kids speak out loud, etc. The staff while being very friendly isn't very mindful of their volume either... So not the best place to come for a peaceful and quiet read/study/work session.
I've enjoyed many visits to this Library and it is a wonderful place to study, especially in the Summer. Here you can find a well executed layout, many books and audio tape selections. Helpful staff and volunteers. Adjacent to the Port Credit Memorial Park, this Library offers you a lovely view - with lots to do! Should you be driving, there is plenty of parking. Should you use Public Transit, there are Bus Stops within a 5 minute walk. Should you be walking through the Park - Watch out for the blackbirds!!!
Came here to study with my friends on a Sunday. It’s been years since I’ve been to a public library and the librarian with the white hair reminded me why. She was super rude, and condescending. Asked her a question and she replied with “why we’re closing in 30mins”. Ok thanks for not answering my question? For an updated building, their bathrooms are also disgusting and unsanitary. Definitely sticking to my university library from now on.
Very poorly designed layout. Not a library conducive to quiet work or studying. Shame because its in such a beautiful location with the park and river just outside. Quiet study rooms are literally right beside the children's play area where kids are screaming. Not sure who thought this was a good idea. No group tables or even single tables either, just chairs shoved in the little spaces around the perimeter.
Very nice library, with lots of books for all ages. There are a few seats by the windows, but most of the space is densely covered by books. They occasionally hold events in the separate room; I saw a wonderful FREE!!!! classical music concert there. There's plenty of parking and the library is close to Port Credit GO. During the summer months they have a seed exchange program.
Beautiful and cozy library, built a bit small (it can get noisy during peak hours). I visit it often during quieter times and the staff is very helpful. It's no longer a older adult hub and could use more activities and zones for older teens and young adults, whose numbers are growing steadily in this area. They could expand their collection and study rooms as well.
I came here to study during the day and although the library was not very busy it was quite loud due to staff members chatting excessively. This went on for over an hour and I ended up leaving since they did not try to lower their voices at all. I might as well have gone to Starbucks.
The location is good but the way how it is design does not allow a quiet studying. since you can hear children playing, reception staffs talking to each other and even to customers. Bottom line this is definitely not a quiet room for concentrating in your reading or studying.
What a great place to study. The view from inside the library is amazing and the location is perfect for me. Right in the middle of Port Credit, there's plenty of outdoor trails around and ample parking. I've studied for many exams in this quiet and comfortable building.
I really liked it! It had tons of books and looked really neat! I remember I went there on my trip to Canada and saw a really cool comic, but I just can't seem to remember the name. But except for that, I loved the energy. It all felt very warm and full of joy.
wonderful place to be with slight issues with the odd person that complains about little kids whining in a library thats more kid friendly meaning its not the quietest of libraries but its a very convenient one when it comes to the amazing staff
I would give 3 out 5 but there too many issues it's a very beautiful and nice library but it lacks space, lack of studying areas, extremely short hours people need time to study after 6 and you close at 6...
Beautiful library and grounds. Great selection of books, even a couple private study rooms. Comfortable seating, as well as huge windows which let in lots of natural light. The staff are always charming.
I tried to study here once and it was one of the most difficult thing, kids area is extremely noisy. Lorne Park library may be a better option if you hope to get work done.
Newly renovated library. For its size, it has everything you need. Really comfy chairs and tons of natural light. It's definitely one of the nicer libraries in the city
Clean facilitiy!, ample parking, and great locatiom being in the heart of Port Credit.. The only thing is only the washroom, where there are mostly always lined up.
i've been coming here since 2012. most of the staff are really nice and helpful. but recently i've noticed, that there's always a problem with the computers.
Never been inside this place but their free parking gets them a 5 star rating. great place to park your car for free and walk around Port Credit.
A little small for my tastes, but the environment is very beautiful. Would recommend for some reading but not for doing work on a laptop.
Nice library, great views to let your mind wonder when you should be reading. Beautiful area to go for a walk and sit to read your book.
Tonnes of free parking, the lot often is taken over for carnivals and various festivals throughout the spring / summer /fall
This library is not big but neat and has children educational little section with selection of books and games.
It's a cozy, little public library. The place is nice and modern. That being said, the place is quite small.
The site has been closed for too long. Purpose a change to the lands and make it a splash pad for the kids.
Excellent physical facilities, great collection of resources, very helpful staff & ample, free parking!
Spacious, clean environment. Lots of books on different subjects, computers also available to visitors.
So happy it has open its doors again! Beautiful and lovely staff. Located near the water.
It's an amazing place! Great place to study or work, and there's a wide variety of books!
Nice place, a lot of different books for all ages and a good place to study and work

Небольшая уютная библиотека, но маленькая игровая детская зона, мало игрушек
Great spot to study. It's always quite busy and hard to find tables.
Schedule is horrendous on Friday closed at 5 not good enough.
Cute library near the Lakeshore Harbourfront in Mississauga.
Nice environment, but the washrooms are not available
Nice and quiet place and lots to choose from
