Initial my experience was pretty decent. I rented a van, the lady was pleasant and no real issue. On return I was served by a male (RJ) who I found rude. After returning the van I realised I had left my phone holder in the van, when I called the office the same guy said he noticed that I had left it but made no attempt to contact me and let me know. Fair enough my mistake. The next day I realised I had been double charged for the van and desposit. An extra £279. I called and received pretty poor service from the guy I returned the van to. He was pretty unhelpful and appeared to have an attitude. He tried to convince me that they had no way of checking the system (i knew this wasn't true) and that I needed to send a bank statement to them. I wasn't willing to do this as I don't see why I needed to share all my personal information to them for them to be able to rectify their mistake. Furthermore I wouldn't be able to send a statement until the end of the month After back and forth he finally said to leave it with him and he will see what he could do. He said he would get back to me but he didn't. I called again the next day for an update. He said they couldn't locate the transaction yet and needed more time. I spoke to him on the Thursday and was told he would call me back in 5 minutes, but I didn't receive a call back until the following Tuesday. I tried to call him multiple times during this time but was unable to get through to anyone. When I finally got through to him on Tuesday he said they had found the transaction and could either do a bank transfer or a refund if I came to their location. I opted for the bank transfer. I didn't hear anything from them for a week and struggled to get through to them every time I tried. I finally got through to them the following Monday (two weeks after my initial overcharge) a lady confirmed that the accounts team processed the refund yesterday (Sunday) I finally received my refund a week after this meaning it took a total of 3 weeks for them to rectify the issue. Its not a small amount and the impact it could have of someone's finances is unacceptable. The lack of call backs, rude staff, lack of urgency and eagerness to rectify the issue leaves me with no choice but to give this company one star. Although slightly cheaper than other local van companies I think it would be worthwhile to pay the extra 10 to avoid the unnecessary hassle.

100% Recommended 6/5 Stars always used to use s&j but I needed a van and they was all out of stock so I thought I would try this place, booked online and went down the day after, unfortunately didn't have the van booked but was able to sort me out a van there and then and was cheaper than my original booking! paid my money and used the van and returned few weeks passed and still no deposit back so got in contact and was sorted there and then, money was back in my bank in less than 24hrs, Brilliant customer service. great company to use, great people and great service, highly recommended and will 100% be using them again

This company provided an excellent service from start to finish.They made me feel like a valued customer right from the start. The staff really professional and friendly and knew what they were talking about. I booked a van at Romford Practical, the van wasn't ready so Romford branch put me in touch with Dagenham Practical branch btw, the branches are not linked, all independent. What an experience at Dagenham branch, great service with a smile. Wesley was great made the whole process easy plus he gave me a very nice van that was clean and very nice to drive. When i dropped the van off, all was easy to process. I was so impressed that I gave a small box of chocs and I dont usually do that! I will defo be coming back for my future hires!

Alex at practical was very professional, he was very helpful covering everything we needed to know, showed us around th van and where the hand brake was as on the new vans they are in a different place, when we brought the van back he asked how everything went and was friendly, great price and friendly staff would highly recommend them and will be using again

Very friendly staff on site oli and Amy have been amazing and very helpful I've had a van from practical just over 11 days now and oli and Amy been very helpful the vans and cars are fully service if you have any problems wiv any of the vans or cars practlcal will get it sorted so if you need a van or car then come to practlcal dagenham

Great guys - Oli is a very friendly chap and the van was nice and clean and in a surprisingly very good condition for its age (3 years old) - the prices are very reasonable too especially the 12p per mile additional mileage cost which is very competitive indeed. Will definitely be going back in the future

My mum order 2 of the wardrobe boxes to use whilst she was moving. They were easy to assemble and once built they were sturdy and the clothes hang perfectly. These are perfect for a temporary wardrobe or long term clothes storage.
