The girls at the salon are so friendly and made me feel relaxed as soon as I got there. (like hanging at your bffs house) I had been wanting to come to Qali for awhile but was hesitant because I didn’t think they had any stylists who worked with curly hair. I saw a post on Instagram about Veida who styles curly hair and decided to book an appointment. I was blown away...... Veida is the real deal! She is an amazing stylist who is so knowledgeable about curly hair. It’s so hard to find a stylist who can cut/style curly hair. Every curly hair girl in the Vancouver area should be lining up to see her! Veida took the time to explain each step of how to style my hair so I could recreate the look at home. This is the first time i have stepped out of a salon loving how a stylist has styled my natural hair. I can’t wait to keep working on my hair goals with Veida. It was my first time at Qali and having Veida cut/style my hair. It was the absolute best experience I have ever had at any salon. I have been going to Ivette at Qali Salon for 3 years now, and she’s the BEST hair stylist, colourist, and more. I’ve been a blonde Asian for 5+ years and been to over 10 different balayage places and Ivette knows her stuff - she listens to what you want, she can get your perfect shade (or match it to one that suits your skin tone), and knows how to cut and style perfectly. She also cares a lot about the health of your hair and has gotten me to very blonde and smooth hair despite having natural jet black hair. She also saved my hair when it got ruined at another salon, and I’m so grateful for her skill. I’ve been lucky and can’t recommend her enough.

Getting hair cut or styled is always a nerve-racking experience, I don’t think I will ever be 100% calm getting it done. That being said, my anxiety level went waaaay down during my visit at QALI. Everyone- from the front staff to my stylist Veida- were kind and welcoming. Even though it was busy there was still calm, it was a good vibe. If you have curly hair like me, you’ve come to the right place. My stylist Veida was lovely and communicated plenty so I knew what was happening and why. I was shown some styling techniques specific to my curls, and left with healthy, bouncy locks. 10/10 would recommend QALI !

For starters the salon is in a great location and the space is beautiful. I felt like I was sitting in a stylishly curated local art gallery space. The service was on point, they even offered me sparkly water! Then my stylist Alison is the best with colour and cut. My hair is dark and super brassy no one ever gets the right blend of toner for me except for her. I’ve tried hundreds and she’s the best! They use eco friendly everything and top of the line products so I know my hair is safe. To top it off the price was more affordable than any salon I’ve been to in Vancouver! I’ll be coming back.

Veida did an AMAZING job blending out a not-so-good haircut from somewhere else, and then applying and blending out my clip-in extensions after. Finally someone who takes the time to understand what the customer is hoping for. Veida has done a foilyage and clip in extensions on my hair and I couldn’t be more happier with the results! Veida is very knowledgeable in her field and she is super patient and sweet! I am in love with my hair, as someone with naturally super curly hair I have never been more satisfied during a hair appointment and she immediately turned my own skepticism on what is possible with my hair type around and put me at ease. I was really impressed by the consult. It was very warm and inviting and I really felt as though Emily and even the front desk staff wanted to support me and give me all my options. Emily was very patient with me, despite my indecisiveness and walked me through all my questions and concerns. Veida is amazing! She took the time to listen to my hair concerns and really made sure I was decided on what I wanted before cutting my hair. She also gave me a lot of information about how my hair would behave based on how I wanted it cut. I’ve had the best experiences every time i’m in the salon. I’ve gotten balayage and foilayage services from Ivette. She’s super nice passionate about her work. She knew exactly what I was looking for in getting my hair coloured. Being detail oriented in her work, she always manages to exceed my expectations. Alyssa and the whole team were very professional and go above and beyond. They educated me on hair care and masks. They made sure I had the best possible experience and provided the best oat milk lattes.

Ivette is an extensions magician, and color expert! I have had extensions before using other methods, and always struggled with matching multiple colors to my hair color to get the look I wanted. Ivette colored my hair months ago, and the Bronde extensions were a perfect match! I am SO happy with my first set of Qali extensions, the weightless feel & comfort. She is so knowledgeable with maintenance, care tips, and products. I look forward to much shorter maintenance appointments. I highly recommend Ivette!

The salon is bright, clean and modern. The gals are welcoming. Veida took her time to get to know me and what my vision for my hair is. She is very skilled at her craft. Veida's extensive salon education includes methods/techniques from Europe, South America and Canada. I was kept in the loop along the way with what she was doing, how the salon works with the pricing of various services and how their hair extensions program works. I love that this is a one stop shop for my hair cut/colour & extensions!

It was so nice walking into a salon and feeling so welcomed. I met with my stylist Kim, I told her what I wanted and how I wanted my hair to look and feel. (I have long thick hair with balayage). Kim had great suggestions for my hair and I felt so comfortable with her. In the end, she made my hair come back to life with a toner to freshen up my blonde and an amazing cut to compliment my hair. Such a great hair experience! I haven't gotten my hair coloured very much and Ashlainah was excellent at explaining the process. She provided excellent advice throughout our session about my hair density, styling and overall care. I showed her a picture of my hair in 2007 (my younger, natural teenage hair) and she was able to match it perfectly! She paid a lot of attention to detail and I could tell she really cared about the process. I will definitely be a return customer!

The Covid-19 virus has no doubt been challenging and of concern for all of us. This was my first professional colour since the restrictions. My experience at QALI was a positive one. Guidelines are being followed at this location. Veida is professional and friendly. She is a natural educator; she easily communicates processes and has the foresight to think ahead. She is genuine with her approach, she knows her stuff. Overall, a very pleasing visit. My expectations were met.

Really happy with both my extensions and the experience at QALI. I haven’t had extensions before, and opted for clip-ins to try them out. Emily helped me pick the right match for me, and they were the perfect colour right out of the package. Emily blended them really nicely and I wore them out the same night. I got lots of compliments (not all of them from my husband :)) The salon has a really nice vibe too, tucked away in Chinatown. I definitely recommend.

I always have a fabulous experience when I go to Qali. Kate did my highlights and cut this time and I am so pleased with the results. I have thick dark hair so I get nervous trying new hairdressers as I know highlights can be a laborious task but Kate was very patient with me and made sure I got the desired results. I would 100% recommend her and this studio in general. They all work to such a high standard and their attentiveness never ceases to amaze me!

Lauren is simply the best. She's been doing my hair for 5 years even though I've moved out of the city and country I keep coming back to her because she's just the best at what she does and that's a legal fact. Just go to her for your hair. Just do it. You're welcome in advance. Also the salon is stunning and the other staff were also simply divine. Even though I live in the UK I'll still keep flying back here just to keep going to this salon.

I had a fab first visit to QALI. It can be nerve wracking to try out a new stylist, but Veida was great. She took the time to explain everything step by step, and came with great suggestions to figure out the best path forward for my unique hair, lifestyle, and maintenance needs. Qali is a sophisticated little slice of heaven tucked into a cute nook of Chinatown. The aesthetic is so dreamy, it is very obvious a lot of love and thought went into the decor and vibe! The stylists (hair geniuses) I met were Emily and Kim. They are so lovely and truly are masters of their craft. The products and hair tools the stylists use truly are luxurious. I wanted to cry so bad after I left. I felt sooo beautiful. I had a horrible experience in the past with hair extension, and was always scared to get it again. But, the experience here has been nothing but great. Everyone has been complimenting me, and Im feeling sooo good about it. I for sure will be feeling 10x confident going 26 in few days! While Qali is fairly new to cutting mens hair, I genuinely do not remember leaving a salon being happier with my hair than I was when I left Qali. Awesome cut. Swift service, lovely people, fairly priced, and the oatmilk latte was delicious. Such a warming, inviting salon. I'm really happy that I've found Qali, as I will absolutely be using them as my regular go-to hairdressers from now on!

Veida took such great care of my 3A/3B curls! She was incredibly knowledgeable about curly hair techniques in styling and cutting and gave some life back to my curls.
