Well to be honest I can't praise them highly enough! Completely unexpected to me I found myself in need of immediate & secure storage space close to home so thanks to google I found these guys.Without any notice whatsoever they have organised a secure unit in the exact size I needed at my closest & most convenient branch with immediate availability. Registration & security set up was uber easy (even for me!!)either online or in person (for those of us who aren't shall we say a technology wizard, such as me!!) It was also a very clear & uncomplicated, quick process. I have received fantastic customer support.The two members of staff that I have dealt with today either on the telephone (Megan) or in person at the site (Glen) were extremely helpful, well spoken, polite & knowledgeable about the service they provided, made me feel very welcome & at ease & answered any queries I had in full. Glen showed me around & walked & talked me through everything I needed to know or do & stressed to me that they're always here to help & never hesitate to contact them if you ever needed help of any kind. It's in a great location & really easy to get to, really well lit & spacious & also very secure. I should also add that I was pleasantly surprised (although I don't know why!!) how clean, neat & tidy the reception area was. it was really bright & airy, colourful & well stocked with essential or really useful or labour saving goods you could buy if you didn't have your own & it was all clearly & well labelled both with description & price which I loved as it drives me insane when goods on display are unproved so that was lovely to see! The lobby area was really roomy & I was again really pleasantly surprised that they provide a large number of spacious wheeled carts & trolleys you can use at no extra cost. So as a person completely new & unfamiliar to accessing & using such a service I can honestly say it was much easier & far less daunting than I had anticipated & all in all a completely positive experience for me. Now if all that isn't enough they're even running a promotion at the moment giving you 50% off your first THREE months payments, I mean, come on - what more could you ask for!!! So finally I'd like to sign off by saying a huge public thank you to Glen & Megan for looking after me so well today - great customer service you guys, I hope you're getting a very well deserved juicy Christmas bonus!!! & I'd recommend you guys to any one! 20 out of ten!!!!

Update: Within an hour, I've already been contacted, had my issue resolved swiftly and told the aforementioned staff member will be dealt with. Fair to say an update to the rating is in order. Original: Never once in my life, have I been spoken to with such indignance, rudeness nor just pure anger, than I have right now. I called the number given to me, on an official letter from Ready Steady Store, for my local RSS storage facility. I asked to speak to the manager of the store; the response: _"...WHAT. STORE?!?"_ Me: _"Hanley..."_ Him: _"Right, then YOU need to speak to THEM. If it's about billing I can't help you..."_ Me: _"The telephone menu sent me to you. I selected billing...and the phone number I rang was an 01782 number...why are you being so aggressive?"_ Him: _"You ring this number, and you think the first person who picks up is gonna deal with your problem?"_ Me: _"I rang an 01782 number...that's for Hanley. How should I know it's going through to a call centre?"_ Him: _"You think THIS is aggressive?! I think YOU'RE aggressive. You just rang this number and you expect me to fix your problem for you?"_ I could go on but what's the point. Clearly this man needs firing or changing roles, as this is not the one for him. Won't be using this company again after that, the worst 'Customer Service' I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. (I have no idea what his name was, he ignored the question. But he sounded like he was from the Lancaster area.)

I ended up having to take a storage unit bigger than what I needed, because the one they had reserved for me weeks in advance had a concrete shelf and a pillar in it, meaning that it was actually smaller in area than what I had reserved. They failed to tell me this, even though until then I thought they were very attentive, phoning me now and then, making sure I was still moving on that day, etc. They also failed to mention on the phone that I needed to bring my own padlock, so had to buy an overpriced one there. Apparently it was in one of their emails, so that is definitely an oversight of mine. However, considering they phoned me several times and mentioned the option of upgrading to a 24-hour access package no matter how many times I turned it down, I think they could have mentioned the padlock. The storage units themselves are great and everything seems very secure. Since they had no more 25 sq ft units (which I booked but the unit they offered me on the day was NOT 25 sq ft in area), they put me in a 30 sq ft one and gave me a discount on it because I made my dissatisfaction clear. I just think it could have been avoided had they told me about the actual size and shape of the storage unit. They have an amazing facility and service, so I feel there is no need to mislead people.

Over all good... just same as any other safe store would be. Prices r a bit on higher side.. staff was friendly but initially didn't offer good price , but later on was v cooperative. Ample parking.. Like the access timings .... 24hrs. Which is v good. Now editing after 3 months. This time over all service has become so aweful. There is not even a single bell to make ppl in office aware that someone wants to get in the office/ reception. To get the entry u have to call customer service followed by a long automated msg. Moreover in this era of pandemic, every thing works on touch system.. u have to enter to long code again and again.... and again... and again to get the entry and to exit the building..... really really annoying and pathetic. Overall their cabin of same size (which i hired) is smaller than the competitors in the market like safe store and apex. Not a user friendly building at all... Plzzz introduce fob system... its 21st century :) everything is becoming contactless... I wonder y local authorities are not taking any action as this is against the covid guidelines.... as there is no sterilisation of the keypads after every use... So high chance of bringing infection home. Thanks

This store claims to be “self storage for everyone” but that couldn’t be far less from the truth. I booked a unit before my flight with an Irish phone number and Irish bank card. I had a phone call before I left to transfer my boxes at their warehouse and they said everything was settled. I arrive and they say they are unable to give me a storage unit due to not being able to provide proof of residency in England even though that didn’t seem to be an issue throughout the check in nor was it made clear you were to be a resident in the UK to use their services. They said they tried to call me about this but I had zero missed calls due to having an Irish number they couldn’t contact. They said they will have to cancel it and give me a refund. It’s been over a week and I still don’t have a refund nor do I have a response from their team that they promised within 24 hours. Because of them I had to leave all of my moving boxes in a state of emergency at my cleaners apartment. Very disappointing. I want my refund.

I have been using Ready steady store for over 2 years now, I used the storage unit and also used a mail box as my mailing address. I can honestly say that I had no idea how it all works with the sizes prices etc.., Until I was help by Karen Haslam She went through the different prices, She advised me in which size of unit would be suitable for me, and saved me money by advising the right size as I was going to pay for a much larger unit which I did not need. Karen also located me the unit on the 2nd floor and it was much easier for myself to access. I would rate Karen service 5 * plus A discount was applied for 3 months and also I have a reduced cost on the letter box. I would rate Karen 5* plus She is very knowledgeable and takes pride in her job, she is very happy and jolly person and kept me informed and communicated with me to let me know that she knew I was waiting. As she was with another customer. That’s what you call great customer service. I will use again in the near future. Thank you Singh

My stuff eaten by MICE!!!!!!! I had a really bad experience with the Manchester Branch in the UK. I put my stuff into storage for about 10 weeks and moved cities went back to collect my stuff and it had all been eaten by mice..... the best bit is they asked if I had food in the boxes. Like are they real? They had mouse traps all over so there was affectation of mice in the building. They gave me forms to fill out and email over to the manager Mike which I done then they claimed that I didn’t send the forms and also said I needed to send to the insurance dept. Seriously guys keep your stuff away from here. All that money went to waste along with all the thousands of pounds of stuff I stored. A review from a really disgraced customer.

I used a 150 square feet store in the Ready Steady Store in Manchester for nearly 5 months to store my household items during the transition period of moving into my new build house. They offered the first 12 weeks 50% off on the rental with bill for 4 weeks at about £190 including insurance and VAT. After that, the invoice became around £320 which was not too bad. The condition and security of the store is excellent and I can move in and out of my items at anytime during the rental period. The location of the store is perfect for me as well. Staff in the store is both friendly and helpful as well. On whole, I’m very satisfied with the service provided by this store.

Dear Ready Steady Store My brother and I have been using self storage units all over the United Kingdom and have used every company that offers self storage, I have never come across such professional, friendly, and helpful staff. All the guys you have working in the Manchester storage are amazing!!! Every time I made my way to the storage with a massive smile on my face knowing that there will be these beautiful humans there to see. The worst public storage place I have ever stored in. I was quite clear about when I would be moving out and told them months in advance. The employee at the store failed to make a proper note of it. I ended up moving out at the time I told them I was planning to and still got charged an extra 40 pounds for 2 weeks of storage I didn't even use! I called and complained and my complaint was ignored. I spoke to multiple representatives who all promised me different things and never kept note of it. Would not recommend this storage unit to anyone. Cheers.

I had a wonderful experience with the staff at Ready Steady Store in Manchester. They accommodated my last minute storage request quickly and efficiently, with minimum fuss. They also waited for me when I arrived after closing. Everyone was helpful, polite and professional, a credit to the company. This was on top of the awesomely efficient sales team, who phoned me minutes after submitting my initial online enquiry. two men have stolen mine and my friends phones in london when we were in school uniform and have taken them to this location in manchester. I hope they get their comeuppance as it has caused us great stress as we feel unsafe just sitting in a restaurant eating; which is where these men took advantage of us and stole our phones. I have gotten that phone three weeks before it was stolen and these nasty men felt it was ok to steal from school kids. I hope you can see this

The best storage place in Uk , been here nearly 13 years . Staff is more than helpful in taking delivery of goods , arrival n loading n unloading real helpfull in all manner . Very very pleasant atmosphere here. I don't normally leave reviews but I need to! Went with my daughter to set up storage and from the moment I walked in I felt like I was at home. Honestly the service is second to none. Andrew made me laugh till I cried, we felt welcome and part of the family. We also came back the next day and met Karen and the service was just the same! First time I have used one of these storage lockup services and at first I was worried about this but all my worries were put to bed by the staff. Sean spelt S.E.A.N was on hand to quash all my worries. He was very helpful friendly and he knew his stuff, even after only being in the job a month or so. I will definitely be using this service again. I was even lucky to get the storage unit at half price, which made my move easier.

Exceptional service from the staff at Ready Steady Store, Manchester. We have been renting units there for 5.5 years and have never had a problem. Accessing our store room 24/7 is very important to us as is being able to up/downgrade the unit size with little notice. Dave, Caris and Lee are always happy to go through any questions or concerns with us. The rooms are secure, warm and dry and suit us perfectly.

I have made the rent payment in June and the money was deducted from my bank account. They said they haven’t received it and there’s nothing they can do. They locked my storage and I was unable to get my urgent stuffs. Customer services are unacceptable and not friendly. Poor attitude. They are not trying to help customers solve the problem. Wasting my time and cause a lot of inconvenience.

good facilities, but the staff kept calling me about the same issue because they forgot to update their records. i also could not get in to my unit after 6pm, whereas their website says 24/7 access (but also access until 11pm?). It is good storage for the price however, and I had no issues whatsoever with the stuff I stored. Staff is also very friendly even if they're not super organized

Came in as I am thinking of taking storage in the new year. Wanted to see the facility, spoke to both Shaun and Glen who were both extremely helpful. Only wanted a price at the time but with the help of Glen who took me to see a room and talked me through all the steps and what security you have I will be taking a room with you in January. Very professional and great customer service.

I've reserved a storage space days ago. It was supposed to be only for few days, so I've asked if it was possible tlby phone before to book it and I've received a positive answer. Once I was going to pay I noticed the minimum amount was for 4 weeks and not as I've been told. A bit disappointed I had to book it anyway. Rather than that very fast service

Three floors of storage spaces here. Staff pretty helpful and didn't feel like they were money grabbing. To sign up takes around 20mins (as all storage places). It's fairly straightforward to access and store your stuff here. Good selection of rooms in different sizes

Big thanks to Emma who has made my experience using their storage very good. Efficient, friendly and smooth service provided by her. Used the 24hr access which was safe and you access the facility using your own unique pin code, that alarms and disarms your unit.

I use the facilities for business and have done for nearly 6 years and there is a reason ive been here this long its because its perfect. Takes the hassle out my deliveries - I can pop and pick them up when I have time and the customer service is always superb!
