We bought our home in the fall of 2020 and it has a rather complex HVAC system with Radiant in floor heat in the lower level and garage. We also had, what we were told was a top of the line Energy efficient furnace, installed before we even moved along with a new furnace air filter system. This past November, as we were having some issues with heat control we decided have someone in to inspect our entire system and give us a tune up. My first call was to a very old friend of 60 plus years who has been an Edmonton homeowner for at least 50 years. He has probably had everything in his home Serviced or Replaced except the basement floor and even that I'm not sure about. I told him we wanted a referral and without hesitation he said RICHFIELD PLUMBING. He uses them to inspect/maintain/fix all his stuff on an annual basis. With that and no hesitation we called Richfield. ERICK is their senior technician and he is a real GENTLE GIANT with a full beard and the look of a Viking Warrior. Quite the opposite, Erick is extremely soft-spoken unbelievably thorough and detailed. He Rescued our Boiler that was on the verge of needing replacement (a few Thousand dollar saving) He adjusted our furnace settings to the proper codes. He advised us that our furnace filters were incorrect and we secured the correct ones on line. He rerouted our exhaust outlet and fresh air intake to prevent the exhaust from simply being sucked back into our furnace. He tested and tweaked several other things. He left us with a detailed report of the condition of all the systems Our original furnace installers, when routing the thru to the exterior pipes, totally trashed the vapor barrier and the integrity of the insulation. Bingo we had a frozen water line. The Gentle Giant assessed the problem, thawed the pipe, did a temporary Warrior fix and while that was not his area of expertise, Richfield recommended an insulation contractor to do the job. Jennifer was a delight to speak with on the phone. She explained the charges for the service call and the furnace analysis and set up an appointment within the next few days. My downstairs furnace would come on and then quit after a couple of minutes. Eric arrived at our scheduled appointment time and listened attentively to my explanation of what was happening with the furnace and the steps I had taken to resolve the issue. I was thoroughly impressed with Eric’s methodical approach to investigating the problem - starting with a simple fix to the flame sensor connection then testing the system. The furnace was still cutting out and Eric tested all the power going to the control board and gas valve. It was determined that the control board was shorting out with possible damage to the gas valve. Parts were ordered and Eric returned the following week to first replace the control board to see if that solved the problem. Luckily for me that resolved the issue and the gas valve did not need replacing. Eric also replaced my water line to my ice maker and installed new pipe for my kitchen drain which had a persistent slow leak. He explained in great detail every thing he was doing and left every work area very clean. I totally appreciated that he took the time to ensure that there were no leaks and that the furnace was cycling properly. I would highly recommend Richfield Plumbing and Heating

My husband and I are in a new home and had been planning to buy a gas BBQ but hadn't gotten around to it yet. Then the fires happened in Ft. McMurray and our close friends who have 5 children found out they lost their home. This kicked our plans to get a BBQ into high gear. We planned to host a BBQ for them and invited the entire group of high school friends who are still connected today. We knew it wouldn't take away the pain of the loss of losing their home and possessions but we thought at least it would bring some laughter to all - including many children between all of us. When I called Richfield Plumbing to book the service and get our BBQ connected to our gas line I happened to tell them why I needed it done quickly –the date was only a few days away. When they called to confirm the date of service – no problem with tight timeline, they were so excited about why we were hosting the BBQ that they waived their entire service fee telling us to buy more burgers. That blew my husband and I away. I can't say enough about Richfield Plumbing. They deliver services quickly, prices are reasonable, service is exceptional, and they care about their community. I got a backwater flow valve installed and these guys were great. I would highly recommend anyone getting this done to go with Richfield Plumbing. Great communication, good price, and they have guys that know what they're doing. - Provided quick quote based on pictures and instructions I provided by email. I would much rather use technology to communicate and save everyone some time. - Explained the work that had to be done very clearly and stuck to the quoted price. (I've had so many bad stories of other plumbers trying to up sell things that are not required). - The guys that did the work are great. They got the job done and were very neat and tidy even though the job is fairly messy. They provided tarps to prevent getting the flooring dirty. I went with them based on a youtube video they provided. They explain the process of installing a backwater check valve very clearly and demonstrate their expertise in this area. Anyone can tell you they know what they are doing but these guys were the only ones who demonstrate it with evidence so I went with them. A+ would highly recommend for big or small job.

Had a follow up visit to check on things, and when I had Eric come out again the next day for something else that came up, there was no charge!! You gotta love these guys! Today: Again such stellar work by Richfield.. and having an issue so close to holidays is not ideal but again another great experience handled by Eric, so very much appreciated..you have a team of superstars, so I will continue to use your services!! Older review: I love this company. To have friendly, thorough staff in every department is very rare nowadays. Not to mention that everything was handled with great detail and ease! This job was redoing most pipe in basement along with a leak...and I don't know much about Plumbing but I can tell you the finished job just looks right! I was walked through the finished product. Even though the job took longer then anticipated (by no fault of the worker),there was no extra charge... unbelieveable Joel went above and beyond while working and was very courteous and respectful. No shortcuts made even in cleanup... though it was a long day for him.

Of all the things to not work during a pandemic, our hot water tank pilot light would not relight. Time to research for a company that would come that day and not eat up my bank account. I found this company and low and behold they were able to come out that day! The warm reception on the phone put me at ease right off the bat. Within a short time we knew what the problem was from out great and knowledgeable technician. The unfortunate part was that our hot water tank had run its life and we needed a new one. He also checked, for free, every tap, bathroom water fixture, outside and in and a leaking outdoor tap was also on the list. They were willing to loan us a tank so that we had hot water. Beyond customer service!! The very next day, we had our new hot water tank installed, the old one removed and our tap replaced outside. All within a great time limit and all with our small budget. I highly recommend this company!! We will know now who to call anytime we need help.

I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Richfield. We had recently moved into an older home and I was having some cabinets installed in the garage as part of a garage makeover project. After moving some building materials that had been left, we discovered a very old gas line that prevented the installers from proceeding. I was immediately impressed with the service when I phoned. I explained the urgent timeline and texted them a picture of the problem gas line. Within one hour of calling, Jared from Richfield Plumbing was at my home and had completed capping the old gas line, which saved the hassle of rescheduling the installation and delaying my garage makeover. Jared worked quickly, was kind, clean, & courteous, and ensured my gas appliances were all operational before leaving. This is the second time I have had Richfield Plumbing come out to my place. I had no water and they came out and noticed a crack in my pipes. I had water within a couple hours. Then I noticed that my sewer was backing up, so Terry came out the next morning and checked. It seems my pipes were frozen and the heat tape was all wrecked. Terry went and got more heat tape and then we used my little heater to try and un freeze the pipe. I was out of my home for two days but it work. This was the cheapest way that we were going to try. I really appreciated that’s since I am not working and I really didn’t have the money to get the pipes steamed. Also I find for the quality of work they do the price is very fair. Had a fantastic experience having Richfield to my home today. The technician Eirik was kind, professional, and thorough in his inspection. He was able to find the source of our mysterious basement leak, which happened to be a hole in the wall from our AC install. I really appreciated the whole home inspection that came with the service. It was wonderful peace of mind to know that the rest of my plumbing was in good shape. Eirik provided me with some great recommendations of parts that may need replacing in the near future. I never felt like I was being "upsold", as everything was presented as options for me to keep in mind. Paul was sent out to help me install my toilet when I ran into issues and did a fantastic job. He was also very personable and answered questions I had when we did the quick complimentary home walkthrough that Richfield provides. Prior to this during the intial stages the help I recieved from Richfield was very quick and the plumber was sent out very quickly. I used Richfield because they were the top hit, and highest rated on Google and they have become my go to source for plumbing solutions as they arise. I've told my immediate family about them and their service and it seems Richfield will be getting my families service across the board, as needed. I was travelling out of country when I received the bad news that my indirect hot water tank was leaking. A friend of mine, previously a home builder, referred me to Richfield plumbing and heating. They promptly discovered the issue, isolated the problem and reset my boiler. Apparently the boiler was on limp mode due to the pressure loss and my in floor heating was off as well. They sourced the tank, everything to update the system, rescheduled their service calendar and had it up and running smoothly before I was even home. Long story but Dan and his Richfield crew literally saved my bacon! Excellent service, communication, craftsmanship and customer service. We have used Richfield Plumbing several times for plumbing emergencies and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. They’ve even taken the time to trouble shoot with us over the phone before sending someone out. Had Joel to the house yesterday for a hot water tank issue and he was very thorough, explained things and did a great job. We are selling our house only to find a small leak in our Hot water heater. I called Dan and they were very accomodating and fast at getting us booked in to get looked at. Fantastic job! Taylor was skilled and knowledgeable. Fixed a drip leak into the floor from underneath a tub drain. The original installer skipped a rubber seal underneath because he put the t-joint a bit too high, leaving it not properly sealed. Taylor was able to overcome the difficult alignment problem and make it work without replacing everything. He explained the fees clearly up front and it was reasonable. He answered my questions well as he worked. He also gave a free inspection of house plumbing where he made a quick fix which ended up fixing our toilet problem. He quoted prices on problem sink and shower replacements which we may do in the future. He worked quickly and was friendly and professional. I have finally found a plumber I really like!

The day before leaving for vacation I discovered water dripping from my heat exchanger unit which made a nice mess in my laundry room. I made arrangements with my condo HVAC contractor prior to leaving for repairs. Upon my return, nothing was done and calls were not returned. A fellow condo owner recommended Richfield. They were easy to talk to, came the same day to assess the situation and got things started. The only glitch was that they ordered the wrong part and I had to wait an extra week to complete the repair which wasn’t too inconvenient since the heating season wasn’t fully upon us yet. They got the job done, communications were good and they worked well as a team. I got the overall impression they genuinely care about quality service.

My hot water tank gave out and I called 3-4 places to have it replaced with no luck has everyone was busy. I finally called Hermes and the front desk clerk was amazing she informed me that they were busy today but if I liked she would call around to other plumbers that they had used in the pass and see if one of them would be available today. I said perfect and within 10 mins, I received a call from Richfield Plumbing and Heating and they informed me that a guy (Taylor) would be at my house within an hour and he was. Taylor installed my new Hot water tank in no time, him and Dan were very professional throughout informing me of the progress and left no mess behind. Best Service Ever. I give them 10 stars if I could.

We have nothing but praise for Dan and the folks at Richfield Plumbing. We found ourselves in a situation where our general contractor for our bathroom renovation really dropped the ball. They were using Richfield as one of their sub contractors and Richfield was the shining light with all the work that was done. Professional, on time and they really cared about the job. At the end, Dan personally came over to make sure that we were happy with their work. This is a sign of a true professional who knows what customer service means. Once again Dan is the man. For weeks I have been chatting with him about a potential air lock in my water pipes that may have been causing my new fridge water dispenser to leak. He dispatched Joel to check the clicking noise in the pipes. Joel confirmed no evidence of water hammer or air in pipes. He really listened to my concerns and took time to explain things to me in a clear manner which I appreciated. He also checked all of the faucets and drains and toilets. I have peace of mind there is no issue on my end now that Samsung has agreed to replace or refund the fridge as being irreparable. Thank you Dan and Joel! After searching online for a highly rated plumber, I contacted Richfield to get a quote to replace our cast iron stack which was cracked and leaking. Of the 3 companies I contacted, they were the only one to respond, and very quickly. After some timely discussion back and forth on email and a call, we confirmed the work to proceed and it was scheduled within a couple business days. They answered all the questions I had in a timely manner. They came first thing in the morning to ensure the work was done prior to our children's nap time and completed it efficiently. The place was left clean and we are happy with the workmanship and the customer service of Richfield.

Richfield Plumbing came to my home to change the shower head in my master bedroom bath. This was a unit which had been changed by another company just 6 months ago and had already broken down! Not only was the material installed in January 2018 of poor quality but it was also incorrectly installed! Richfield installed quality materials in a very timely manner. What also impressed was the professional manner by which I was treated. Once Terry finished the installation of the shower, he then took me through all the plumbing in my home and inspected every unit, every tap, etc with me. Great experience with Richfield plumbing. Had a number of issues that needed fixing, including toilets and a hot water tank replacement. The fixes were done over a couple visits with different plumbers. We dealt with Joel, Taylor and Dan, the owner. All three were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly to work with. They took the time to verify their work and walk me through the fixes they performed. Everything is working well now! Jennifer at the office was also professional and friendly, and really helped work around my availability. I know Dan and his company Richfield plumbing & Heating LTD. through BNI. Dan is type of person who will do what he said to the perfect level. I believe he is the person we can trust for his services. I used his product Bio One. It is an environmentally friendly product which keeps Drain Lines & Septic Systems flowing. He took the time to show me how the product works and how to apply it in the sink properly, and what to avoid to keep the drain lines from blocking. His service is friendly and quick, the price is fair. I am now using it as a house hold product for house maintenance. I am highly recommended Richfield for plumbing or all other services.

Recently my hot water tank stopped working. When speaking to a couple of people they both referred me to Richfields. When I called on Friday morning I spoke with Andy who very promptly scheduled a appointment that day. He even advised me to empty the tank to reduce my cost and over the phone walked me through the steps. When the serviceman arrived he was very friendly and worked on it till it was up and running. I was very happy with their services and will refer them to friends when they require a plumber. I would strongly recommend Richfield Plumbing for any gas fitting needs. Originally, I had to get a plumbing contract to run a gas retest before gas service could be resumed. One big issue was that natural gas had been supplied as soon as possible in a cold day. I called Richfield Plumbing for help and Andy arranged it effectively and efficiently and worked out the schedule. Jeff was assigned to carry out the job. I was even more impressed with how thorough the job he completed. Anyway, the staffs take the time to ensure the job is done right and their customer is happy. Had Richfield out to hook up Natural gas to our BBQ- we had done the BBQ conversion but were a little nervous about uncapping the gas line to connect. (The cap was rusty and it was taking too much torque to try uncap- so figured it was better to call in a professional). After reading a bunch of reviews I landed on Richfield. My call was answered professionally. Didn’t have to wait for an appt (got an appt within a couple days) and the tech was excellent. The pricing was fair and the serviceman was personable and professional. Very happy and based on this experience I would recommend Richfield and would definitely use them again.

Richfield plumbing is an outstanding company and there staff is very versatile and knowledgeable about there duties. I had ball valves installed in all bathrooms and they did the main water shutoff with a ball valve. They also did the inspection on my garage furnace as well as the home high efficiency furnace. I had Richfield check/service my furnace. A faulty gas valve needed replacing, and Eric (the technician) and the office staff put in extra time to source and provide one late in the day. They even drove through evening rush hour traffic to pick up the valve so I wouldn’t be without heat on a winter’s night. When I had questions about noises the furnace was making, Eric explained in detail what was going and how to improve furnace performance. All in all, fine work and outstanding service. I got several quotes from different plumbing companies in Edmonton, i tried google and facebook market place and all of them were expensive, then i was referred to Richfield, they can give you a professional quote superfast, they send you online quotes that can be modified and approved and within minutes someone will call to confirm the appointment, plumber arrived on time and quick fix, and the price is way less than all of the quotes i got like almost by half. Our tankless water heater had been acting up for months and our installer said it was due to low flow faucets. It got worse and worse until we had no hot water. We called Richfield based off a recommendation from an acquaintance. They came out and diagnosed an actual problem with the heater - a part that needed replacement. They explained everything very well, picked up the part and had it replaced within a few hours, and fixed a few leaks while they were here. We felt so well taken care of after so many months of thinking this was just the way it was going to be with our heater. Thanks guys!!

Everything is excellent! The tech, Taylor, was very patient to explain everything and he made very honest suggestions! He let me know which ones would be priority and how much emergency it would be needed to fix. Thus, he also taught me some tips how to maintain my water heater. He did double ask for my consent on the parts that I want to change. They have a guidelines of fixed total for the fees so the price would not suddenly increase at the end of the service. The service was very efficient and was with high quality. I will definitely call them in the future for more service!

My brother's father in law referred me to this plumbing company. I called for an appointment for Friday August 6, 2021. I got Taylor as the plumber. He was super nice. He fixed the pipes but the water didn't come back on when he put the main water valve on. I didn't know what to do but Taylor did. He called Epcor. I will have another appointment with Taylor to sort out the water business. I appreciate the great service from Taylor and also Jennifer who I called today. I also got text messages from Alison who followed up from Taylor's visit. I recommend this company highly.

From Joel (plumber) to Chris (contractor) to Allison (customer service/coordinator) I have had the best experience. They managed to fix a mess a previous plumber made in my bathroom (toilet) and I wish I would have gone to them first. I trusted the first guy and knew after his second visit he didn't have a clue what he was doing. He compromised a joist which was the major cost of the repairs but I know it's done right now and will use them again. Highly recommended!!

I’ve experienced an unfortunate situation when an auger snake head broke inside the 2” pipe while Richfield was servicing my kitchen due to a clogged pipe. They arranged appointments with a 3rd party to ensure they retrieved the piece of metal. Dan, who is the owner of the company was very hands on and professional in handling the issue. Jennifer, the company receptionist, was very polite and always on top of things when scheduling the service. They were able to retrieve the auger with very little damage to my basement. Overall, I give them 10/10.

I had a Flo by Moen device installed in my home... We live in an older neighbourhood and I work in insurance so it is good to be prepared. We were very happy with our service when it came to the installation of the device and setting up the app that monitors the system. It has been a couple months and we had a few notices along the way. Each time I have reached out to ask questions, Dan and his team have been really wonderful, getting back to me right away. Really happy with the product and the service that we have received!

I had Richfield send over their service tech to start a file and service my residential boiler system. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the service tech and the quality of the workmanship. Upon arrival the tech discussed the jobs in detail and the costs associated. The boiler system and associated equipment is quite complex and the tech was more than happy to explain how it all worked and how to do minor maintenance if I had too. Overall, very satisfied with the service I received.

I had a great experience with Richfield in installing a backwater valve in my basement. Taylor did a fantastic job by himself without a helper in less than a day. I was amazed at how much effort he put in to complete the job. He has the experience, the knowledge, and the willingness to answer all my questions and share all the details on how the backwater valve works as well as the state of my sewer line. If I have future plumbing needs, I'll probably ask Richfield to send Taylor to my house!

We had them come for an issue with our drain not draining properly. Our technician was on time and was very informative. He gave me options and stuck with the pricing for those options. Price was fair. The camera they use to see down the pipes was quite cool and was nice to see that the drain was clear of obstructions. He gave suggestions for what I can use to prevent build up in the future as well as heads up for things that may need to be done in the near-ish future. I would recommend them.

The person that answered my call (Alison) was very pleasant to deal with and went out of her way to see if she could get someone out to see me on a Friday afternoon. Joel made it over in the afternoon and did a great job. He was very friendly, professional, and he identified the issue quickly. I called Richfield when my downstairs drain was backing up. I have to say they have wonderful service, they scheduled a time and showed up promptly, gave me an accurate quote before they started the work and broke down exactly what they would be doing. The work was done quickly and they left the area cleaner then when they got there. They explained the issue, resolved it and everything has been working great. This group of professionals help me out a couple days ago. I was looking for a part that wasn’t in the city. I went in to Richfield and just asked the boys there if they had anything I could use to get my job going. Came home late sunday night from out of town and my water heater was toast. First thing monday morning i made a call and to my surprise these guys were able to come out right away !!!. Needed a hot water tank removed and lines capped, an uncommon request. A competitor referred me to Richfield. When I called Richfield a human picked up right away, a quote provided and service was scheduled on the spot, Taylor showed up right on time, very professional and provided advice on a couple of other heating issues. Great value (determined from a later callback from another company), very responsive, and impressively consumer oriented.

Steve from Richfield Plumbing came today to raise up our toilet flanges in both our bathrooms so that the flooring installers could finish their job. Steve did such a spectacular job! he was efficient, cleaned everything up around the toilets, adjusted our water float for optimal water conservation and was a super nice guy! My interior spigot was dripping, Steve came out, explained what my materials were and how I can deal with them. I appreciated learning and understanding better my home and how to take care of it. The inspection he gave showed me very helpful items that we were not aware of, even having been in this house for 5+ years. I needed to have my natural gas bbq disconnected and the line shut off. It was very quick and easy. As a complimentary service the technician checked my furnace and hot water tank and gave me some professional advice. He also checked the plumbing lines and showed me where the main water shut off was. He was polite and very respectful of social distancing. I had no heat one very cold Saturday afternoon and after calling a couple of heating companies that I got no response to I called Richfield and got an immediate call back. It was a Saturday late afternoon and they came within a couple of hours and got heat restored, which was a relief because it was -25 degrees that night! The gentleman that came was very professional and courteous! Excellent company!!

Was professional and courteous. I had my kitchen faucet replaced and had routine maintenance done to my furnace. He gave my whole house a look over and gave advice on things that were good or needed attention in the future and answered all my questions and did a good job to explain everything to me. Aswell as a good job replacing my faucet. Would use Richfield again for my plumbing or furnace needs.

Talking to Jody on the phone I knew this was the right company for me. She was so helpful and up front with me. I got a quote in a very timely manner! I was happy with price. Steve was a true professional and took his time to ensure that all my concerns were addressed in a prompt and courteous way. My only complaint is that the price for a simple job (replacement of frost free hose bibb for outdoor faucet) was quite high—although I’m almost certain that any plumber would have been the same or higher it’s just painful to have to part with so much money so quickly…

I would highly recommend Richfield Plumbing and Heating for your plumbing situations. The service was really great. After coming back from vacation we realised we had no hot water. Richfield came out and helped diagnose the issue and helped explain what was happening. They also recommended some things that we could maintain ourselves. We will be using their services definitely in the future.

Very professional and thorough. Took the time to explain as much as he could while dealing with my thousands of questions. Highly recommend. Revising my review to 4 stars as I called another plumber to investigate the same issue and they were able to solve it in way less time for the less money. Still great to work with, but likely won’t use them again since the issue couldn’t be solved.

I’m very satisfied with the service provided. I had some work to be done right away and they came through doing the work the very next day I called. I had to install a new sink with new water lines and plumbing on 2nd floor meaning opening walls and flooring, he worked with me the whole time making sure everything was done properly and to code. My wife discovered out hot water tank was leaking on Monday morning. I was on my way to Calgary for business. A friend came by and looking at it recommended it needed to be replaced. Another friend recommended Richfield. I called them and they came first thing Tuesday Morning. They were efficient, clean, very respectful and did a great job. I would recommend them to any of my friends.

We had a gas permit inspector check an installation by a different company and they wanted the line changed before they would approve. The deadline for the permit was the same day. I contacted Richfield at 10:00 they had someone at my house by 13:00 and I was sending the inspector pictures by 13:45 for the permit to be completed. After investigating and believing it may have been a user error, he spent at least another 40 minutes inspecting the sink, hoses, and in the cupboard to look for any tiny sign of water leakage. We connected with a tiler for our bathroom renovations, who in turn recommended Richfield plumbing for the plumbing work. They worked within our schedule and that of the tiler, were open to moving our schedule around as the work with the tiler developed. Showed up when they said they would and tested everything in front of me before they left. Price ended up being a fair bit higher than estimated, but was still under other companies. The job took longer partially due to the plumber not bringing the correct parts. Overall though, good service and good work. I would use them again.

Richfield plumbing was able to solve our plumbing issue and was really affordable. 4 privious plumbers said the smell in our shower was a ventilation issue and nothing could be done. Richfield changed the p trap and the exhaust valve, despite it was a challenging location. The smell disappered and we are soooo happy. Great job
