Zero Stars if I could. Busy they are, but not for selling bikes. I waited a half an hour in a line very patiently - like an angel, understanding that they were busy and hopefully easy to work with on my new bike - wanting to hopefully have a good relationship with my local bike shop. It was a Tuesday close to closing time and I thought it would be a light evening... no chance. This shop is way over its head. They were very busy and obviously since they are swamped with tire changes and chain repairs they can afford to treat people badly. They treated me like a fool.. telling me to go elsewhere to buy a bike if I didn't like their schedule. They were too busy to entertain a bike sale when I waited a half an hour and was ready to buy a bike. They insinuated that I was "acting some sort of a way," when I patiently waited 30 minutes and was still chill enough to offer to let the next person go before me so that the business could clear out another customer that was at the counter so I could look at a couple of the bikes inside before I made my choice. This is the second time I came to the shop and every time I was given a minimum of 5 minutes to get information on a purchase. The first visit was early in the Covid opening, and I was given the brush then... but two or so months later I was still treated poorly by their people. A real shame that this bike shop has such a poor business model. They should have at least one salesman on hand to support sales, since due to an obnoxious pair of self-entitled - we have all the business we need (or at least they can handle) types will keep me from coming back, cause me to write this detailed review in many forms of media and in the end not recommend or become repeat business. They relegated my relationship and hopes to make a bike purchase and have a solid old fashion bike shop relationship - to giving me only one choice from the three bikes on the outside display. Closing time - might literally be closing time for this poorly run shop.

Great Bike service and knowledge here. Aaron is legit, chill, and cares about his business and customers. First time I came in with a separate issue, Aaron noticed that my hub was overtightened and needed adjustment. Advised me to take advantage of the warranty where I purchased it for that adjustment. Unfortunately I moved back to the area, from University, and changed LBS, so wasn’t going to be able to go back to that shop of purchase any time soon and so he just adjusted it for me! More recently I brought in a hub wheel build for my rear wheel. When I dropped it off staff mentioned that it would take a bit of time as there is a wheel build in front of me, and whichever faster shop service jobs arrive in between will be completed priority, which sounds fair it’s a local shop not a big box store .. So that being said it’s a super chill spot, cool products, you get a lot of support on products and service. If you need a RUSH turnaround on major stuff, be prepared to be polite and patient or possibly select a big box store depending on the service. Aaron is an honest guy who seems to love the culture and even referred to me the bike party. Got me my wheel back in time, right before the party, hub did 15 miles no problems. Thanks man! Definitely coming back.

It is literally bicycle paradise the moment you enter the parking lot. There's heaps of used bikes ready for sale out front, but once you walk in its like WHOA! Bikes everywhere!! SJB covers all bases when it comes to what kind of bike you're looking for, and if they don't have it, they can probably order one through their distributors. If you have a budget, they can probably accommodate your needs. They're the closest bike shop to the only bicycle race track (velodrome) in Northern California, so they mostly have fixed gear/single speed related parts and paraphernalia, but they've also got their good selection of mountain bikes, beach cruisers, kids bikes, road bikes and hybrids. Did I mention they're also a Skateshop? I didn't? Well snap! They're two shops in one! There's no other shop like that in San Jose! The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable, and if I had such a good experience there, chances are you will too.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! I knew absolutely nothing about bikes going in, so was really worried about getting sold an overpriced bike, or buying something that wasn't the right fit. I was helped by Alex, who was super patient and kind while explaining what type of bike would be best for me. He recommended a few before I found one I liked, and he even switched out a part to make it fit better, free of charge (WHAAT???). The bike itself wasn't the cheapest, but i think it's definitely worth the price. I also bought a helmet, water bottle, and holder, which Alex attached for me. I've had my bike for a couple months now and am super happy it. I couldn't recommend this store more. These guys know their bikes! Thanks Alex if you're reading this!

Truth is I've only been to this place two times in my life and none of them had been to buy a bike. Yes, they have a really cool selection of bikes but too expensive for me and I've taken two of my bikes to repair and what I receive is an endless list of all the things that my bikes "need". It gets to the point were it's cheaper to buy a new bike than to repairing my old one. First time I needed a tune up for my bike, they gave their 30-min speech and the estimate price to fix my bike (around 200-300$), then I left and went to a different bike shop here in SJ and they tuned it up in 20 minutes for less than 50 bucks. This seems a good place to buy bikes but not the best one to repair small problems on them for a cheap price.

Had to stop in real quick and grab some grip the guys we awesome at helping me out and Aaron gave me a cool price on it. I come here alot for help and advice on issues I'm having or to use the air pump. And the guys are always friendly and informative and have great customer service even when I don't make a purchase. The prices are good definitely one of the lowest prices stores in the south bay and the selection is awesome they have a ton of stuff stocked up in that small little shop. If you live in San Jose and you haven't been to San Jose bicycles yet, your missing out! Check them out soon!

I have always received quality service at SJB. Recently, I brought in two wheels that were part of a bicycle I purchased online. They needed to be trued due to the rough handling during shipment. SJB turned them around in less than 24 hours and charged a very reasonable price. What's more, they inspected and adjusted both front and rear axle assemblies. The guys are always friendly and helpful. If you are into fixies, they offer bikes from the 6KU line. They also have an area in the shop dedicated to skateboards. It is a small shop, but they offer big service. Highly recommend.

Aaron, the owner, got my stubborn old pedals that was stuck to come off my bike. Seems simple, but no other bike shop was able to get it off with all their tools. They recommended that I order a new crankset, which would be expensive and my last option. Thank goodness Aaron’s good ole fashion welding technique got it off without harming anything else. We need more old school, results oriented, technical savviness in people, like him.

Excellent customer service! The owner is super friendly as well as the remaining of his staff. They’re super knowledgeable! It helped my husband and I when we shopped for our bikes about 3 weeks ago. We had 0 knowledge about bikes but they were so helpful and made it super easy to pick a bike. We are here again for my sons bike and again EXCELLENT customer service. Will definitely be coming back.

Being very new to biking, I went with a list from my bike academy. Alex was extremely patient, answered all my questions and helped me with my list. Later the same day I bought a bike rack and he helped me install it and educated me on how to use it. I would rate customer service to be excellent.

Upon arriving at San Jose Bicycles , I had the easiest and most streamlined experience that I could hope for in a bike shop. They not only have tubes at great and low prices, bUT they also helped me with the replacement if my bike Tube ! I'd recommend any time and I am an avid bicyclist .

I purchased a bike from here two months ago, an SKU for $280, and have been coming back ever since to have it checked out. I can ride in confidence to and from work because these guys are so helpful. They've never charged me for a check up. Always pleasant visits, I highly recommend

Had to wait for over 30 mins just to find out that they didn't have bike for my kids size. The wait was longer due to covid, and I may change my rating on my next visit. The staff were nice and polite. The shop is very small... But it's packed with lots of bikes.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They sell new and used bicycles and they have a lot of them, so many they are hung all the way to the ceiling. They also sell accessories and skateboards. This is a cool independent shop with good customer service and advice.

This place is incredible. They have bmx bikes and skateboards! The people who work there are really friendly and helpful. I bought a bmx bike from them today for a reasonable price and it’s the best one I’ve owned. Thanks guys!

This place is for serious bikers, and is run by serious bikers, and I found them kinda like engineers, they don't talk that much, but will sorta of educate you about bikes if asked. I had a good experience with store.

I went to this bike shop last week.It was my first time visiting this shop and it was amazing!The worker helped me with what i needed,which was a new tube.Ill be back to ask for some help with my bike soon!
