New to the neighborhood (but not the city), and have only had the opportunity to check out the actual store once. The shop itself is lovely, and has a concise and diverse selection. I attended a book signing event hosted by the bookstore and checked in with the owner at reception. She noticed I had a copy of the book in hand and asked, “Where did you get that?” I told her I had ordered it from an online retailer. She replied, “Thanks for supporting my store.” I thought she was referencing the book signing event fee I had just paid, and told her I was happy to do so. She then shot back rather nastily, “No, I was being sarcastic because you clearly aren’t supporting a local business.” I then explained to her that the author was a friend who had asked me months ago to pre-order the book online. She shrunk back and said, “Well, I guess that’s fine.” Whatever intention I had of future visits to this bookstore evaporated with this woman’s sour attitude. I have compassion and dollars to spend at independent booksellers, but this won’t be one of them.

Adorable bookstore tucked away along the iconic San Marco Blvd. Displays of books and other merchandise are very well done. Children's items are located in the front of the store. In addition to many books I was already familiar with, this store also introduced me to the BabyLit series of classic books that have been illustrated and adapted for a pre-school / early elementary audience. The staff was friendly and helpful without crossing the line to seem pushy. My five year old was with me for the visit and they were very patient with his antics as he wanted to explore books and touch things. You will pay a slight mark-up over Amazon prices, but at least to me, it's worth it to actually be able to browse and discover new titles. I look forward to returning again.

I'd like to give this store a perfect five because the place is very nice and unique, but I didn't get a single greeting or asked if I needed help finding anything unlike the other customers who entered. I felt a little singled out. Other than that, the place looks really nice. The aisles are bit tiny, but I managed. It's a cute bookstore with many old book collections and gifts you can buy for other book lovers.

Very small but personal bookstore. For some reason the whole inside of the store smelled like paint or paint thinner or lacquer or something. Maybe they were doing construction recently or next door? Not sure. It didn't have a new book smell store if you know what I mean. Prices seemed a little bit high but you are in five points so kind of goes with the territory. Friendly staff store is a bit crowded and small.

I love this place. A true neighborhood cozy book store with plenty of selection and a great Instagram presence with regular updates, new releases, gift ideas, etc. Personalized service, too. You see something you like, you let 'em know and they'll hold if for you for same day pick-up! And a newsletter! And a website with e-com! Family-owned and operated. Support small and local businesses!

This bookstore is so perfect for the San Marco area! There's plenty of wonderful books of all genres. I could spend all day in there finding new books. It's also lovely seeing authors on the weekends signing their books! This is a perfect spot to spend the morning looking for a book and then reading in the little park.

Staff is so friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Fun to talk about books with them. Love their recommendations. Good selection of used books, beautiful cards. And they special order if they don't have the book I'm looking for. I'm in a book club, so I am talking about and looking for books all the time!

  • Katie Zimmerman

They have the most eclectic range of classic books, wonderful gifts, and the best cards. My favorite find is the earrings that are shaped as my favorite classic books and childhood books. Also, wonderful staff that greets you with genuine care to help you find what your eyes desire.

  • eastwinddemon

Lovely, small bookstore with excellent variety. Staff is great at providing recommendations, very friendly. Its not easily seen from the street, so keep your eyes peeled. Parking nearby is also wonky, so you might have to walk a bit to get to it. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

  • Shelby (Kristie)

Amazing bookshop! I wish I lived here just so I could make this a regular place I visit! Their selection is wonderful, and they also sell candles, comics, buttons, puzzles, and probably more I didn't see! Definitely gonna come back next time I visit Jacksonville!!

  • Laura H

Great little book shop. They have tons of books on Florida history as well as local history. It's a real neat place. The older gentleman that works there is very friendly and helpful. I did not purchase anything this time around, but I will definitely be back.

  • Jennie Morelock

It's bookshops like these that feel a bit magical. Getting a book from here is simply enjoyable. Also the cool scented candles here add depth to the senses while reading. And their creative greeting cards make it an easier errand when picking up a book gift.

  • Andrew Miller

What a magnificent bookstore! Yes it is small. Lots to choose from for Children and classic literature. The History section was my focus. Plenty of older books to choose from, as in the vast majority. Another section of note is their selection of stationary.

  • Lindsay Shugerman

If only they were in Springfield instead, they would be perfect. Okay, that and evening hours for those of us who work! The books are great, the staff is amazing and they go the extra mile to find special orders. New and used books.

  • Shay Kay

I went on Memorial Day, was surprised they were open. The owners was very friendly and shared history about the store. I went in there for one book, walked out with 3. Love the quaintness of the store. Will definitely be back.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Independent Bookstore Day yesterday and it was a pleasure sharing a table with Author Kathy Bain. I look forward to having a personal book signing day here on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 10AM - 2PM.

  • Meredith Brammer

High recommend shopping your local indie bookstores over big retail or Amazon! They have a lot in stock but if they don't, they will order it for you. They also have a ton of cute gifts for the holiday season.

  • Lorelei Wendt

A nice little bookstore. There is an atmosphere of comfort and peace here. The variety of books was amazing — from classics to modern bestsellers. The friendly staff is happy to help with the selection

  • Matt Pendleton

One of my favorite little shops in Jacksonville. Plus they're part of a book co-op that can acquire very rare books from all over the world, in case you're looking for something very special.

  • Dianne Scarboro

What a super great independent bookstore! I bought a classic book and some little gift items. I loved the used books and so many great classic books! Go in and enjoy!!

  • David Yarborough

Always a neat place to visit. The employees are helpful. Most merchandise is of higher quality and price compared to other book stores. The store is immaculate.

  • Terry Collins

Wonderful place to shop. I went in for one book and left with four. Support our local small businesses! Stop by for a visit and leave with a book, or four!

  • Edward Dimmick

Staff are nice, interesting selection, many more obscure titles. Much of their inventory are used titles and small/local imprints you won't find elsewhere.

  • John Fisher

Great mix of used and new books, including some nice collectibles. Greeting cards. Close to other shopping, restaraunts, bars, movie theater, and parks.

  • Judie Ponciano

Stylish little bookstore with wonderful books. It was very visually appealing when I walked in. It had the perfect gift books for children! I bought 3!

  • Grant Spencer FL

Beautiful store, some great books, overpriced and was not welcomed or greeted the 20 minutes my wife and I were there until we went to buy something.

  • Joan Verhoef

Just the most darling jam packed store in a fun area of Jacksonville. Staff were helpful and kind; displays inticing and thorough. A new favorite!
