Birchmount Hospital’s incompetency almost killed one of my family members this week. I took said-family to the emergency room, where they were triaged. The nurse rolled their eyes at the excruciating pain my loved-one was in as she took her vitals. The nurse then proceeded to rudely ask why she hadn’t taken painkillers if she was in pain (as if, during emergencies, where your organ has ruptured on an evening walk you would have Advil handy). SHN staff refused to provide a translator or allow any one family member to even accompany my loved-one to communicate. So much for “informed consent”. After 15+ hours of not having food or water and stabbing pains, they released my family member with a prescription for Aleve and was told to come back if the pain got worse, which it did. The waiting space was crammed, no social distancing was enforced. When we came back, they gave a CT and said there was an abnormality and they would need to do surgery. We got most the information from our family member who tried their best to comprehend medical terminology while in agonizing pain, to the point where they could barely talk or keep their phone upright. The staff and doctor did not speak with us until after a surgery we were told so little about. It’s unfortunate, that they did the surgery with minimal consulting with the family. I won’t go into details about the surgery as that is private, results were not what we wanted. I don’t want to pass the blame on the doctors as I am hopeful they tried their best. After surgery they did not call for updates, until we called and inquired to various rude staff who seemed bothered that we wanted to have updates about our loved-one especially during this pandemic when we weren’t allowed inside. My family member told us that they would not leave food by the bed but instead outside near the door. SHN, how could someone who got multiple surgical incisions be able to get up and walk to get their food? Do better. The nurses during the night were somewhat better than the ones in the morning who just kept patients waiting for hours while they did shift rotations. Please finish helping your patients before leaving your shift nurses, the least you can do it notify your patient that you are now ending your shift and someone is taking over instead of abruptly leaving without saying a thing (falls under common decency). (Side note: Ironically, the nurses that morning got cheers and bursting loud music from a van outside in the parking lot, unclear if the van with the led screen was with SHN. I’m all for showing appreciation to our nurses during times like these. However, from the service provided by the nurses at Birchmount, I would hold my applauses. I’ve seen over 40,000 people during the pandemic while working in healthcare myself and I try and treat patients with compassion and the last thing I would do is shrug-off their pain as if it’s a task, it’s a responsibility as healthcare workers to not do this work as a chore and be lazy, but engaged and passionate about genuinely helping others.) The saddest thing about all this is that the paramedics bringing patients in on stretchers even said “this hospital is sketch”. We should’ve listened, lesson learned. Ontario Healthcare needs improvement.

My father had an accident at work and cut off a portion of his finger causing it to bleed continuously and we had to go to the hospital, this location was the closest to us around 1PM. Upon walking into this hospital we stood at the resgistration desk for roughly 5 minutes and the white lady at the front desk had her eyes glued to her monitor without saying a word to us. I then had to ask her if she could help us and without finishing my sentence she interrupted me saying "give me a minute, I'm busy". I mean I would give you all day if it wasn't an emergency or maybe if she had said that to us upon arrival it would be more forgiving instead of acting as if she never even saw us. Finally 20 minutes later, she finally helped us and provided us with a chart to the waiting room. Update for 2:25PM, I've been in the waiting for nearly an hour and still waiting. The three nurse in front of me are having a nice conversation about Donald Trump. Let's not forget that we were the only people in the waiting area for the first 30 minutes, so I can't imagine how busy they really could be. Update for 2:30PM, they finally told us to have a seat on the bed. The doctor, however, was extremely kind but since it was the tip of the finger she was unable to perform surgery on it. The work was then passed back to the nurse which seemed extremely unskilled considering she had to go back and double check with the doctor on what to do. She finally came back, attempted to dress the finger and realized that it was too loose and asked us if we could stay at the hospital for a couple more hours to see if it stops bleeding. She then decided to ask another nurse for her suggestion. Final update at 3:05PM. My father doubted her ability to redo the dressing so we decided to just leave it as is and wrap it at another hospital. In conclusion, I would highly not recommend this hospital if it's an emergency.

I really want the management of this hospital to read this review. Because I don’t think staff members understand the importance of mental health and how to deal with it skillfully. Backstory: I admitted myself into this hospital in November of 2022, and this was an extremely difficult time in my life, arguably the worst period ever. I don’t want any sympathy, but I just really want things to change at this hospital in terms of helping people with mental health. After my experience at Birchmount, I feel like there must be immediate improvements. My recommendations when it comes to helping individuals with mental illness: 1) Please do not keep your patients inside a literal cell when they get admitted. Instead please put them somewhere quiet with some supervision. I was put in a locked room with nothing but a gurney. When I mean quiet, I meant a place away from other patients. 2) Relay information efficiently. I was sent to Centenary Hospital because there was a psych ward there unlike Birchmount. The staff really screwed me over when there was an overwhelming amount of mistakes made to the staff at Centenary. Some information wasn’t sent to the Centenary staff which was incredibly annoying. 3) Most importantly, TRY TO GET SOMEONE WHO CAN IMMEDIATELY HELP THE PATIENTS. GET A SOCIAL WORKER ON STANDBY BECAUSE MENTAL HEALTH IS GETTING INCREASINGLY COMMON. Don’t you think it’s unreasonable for a suicidal person to wait for four hours to get some sort of help? Please recruit more staff who are trained with mental health. Overall, the staff was okay, but the social worker was a professional and helpful person. Mental health and related issues are no laughing matter especially during these days. I wish the staff at Birchmount Hospital can really sympathize with an individual who are suffering from mental health illnesses.

Emergency hours start by 3:30pm. Nurses and Doctores everyone is nice and profession, Emergency services system runs smoothly, Patients have been guide and divert to different waiting areas. Anyone who want to see a doctor here, first will check by one of the nurses with own health card. Then patient will sent to the register dask for paperwork, and then will be given a green board called chart for patient to bring back where near just checked by nurse station over a wall into holder. Then go back to the main waiting area sometime called " red chairs" , Wait till patient's name been call, a nurse will guide the patient for Necessary test, something like blood draw, and so on.. after finish those steps, then patient will be sent to a bed with overhead curtain that has a number on it, normally 1 to 4. One of the nurses will come and check on the patient and do other round checking , ask the same before and mark down on the chart again... It will takes a while to see the doctor....May hear someone talking just over the curtain... Anyways others will have the same experience... BTW, it about 2 hours from beginning till this step.. So after a half hour, a doctor came. He first self introduction, then have a friendly greetings with the patient back and forward. Than take notes about the patient's self describe, do some check ups. Then may sent the patient home with or without prescription. If need to do other test, as MIR, CT Xray.. then a nurse will guide the patient again to finish the procedure. Takes time to wait and get thing done and it worths.

I took my wife to the emergency because she was extremely sick. Fever, vomiting etc. I understand the wait because they were busy. We were in chairs waiting for 5 hours. We witnessed people coming in that were not as severe as her (a girl literally came for a check up - we heard the convo) and left before us. To top it off my wife was pregnant. They left her with iv in her veins that were done atleast 1 hour. She was freezing cold, I asked the nurse for a blanket and they just looked at us and ignored. One nurse rudely just left after her shift. I have been to many hospitals but this was very bad. We are quiet polite people and understand people have bad days at work. So we kindly requested my wife be checked out immediately and we will sign any required documentation. I had to request this twice. Afterwards the doctor found out and checked my wife and gave her medication with prescriptions. Your profession is to care and deal with people. If you don't like it then don't do it. Nurses in the hospitals are rude and act as if they own the hospital. The doctors are always friendly. They should really evaluate nurses and fire a lot of them. There are many young new grad nurses that are looking for work and are very helpful. My taxes pay these people so why are they treating human beings this way? I could have lost my child. We are very upset. Guess what there is nothing we can do but leave these reviews.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the Birchmount Hospital (former Grace Hospital) for day surgery/stomach scope. Although this was routine, I was super nervous. After the main registration I went to day surgery registration where the receptionist appeared a little unapproachable - and was I wrong...she was WONDERFUL! Kind, informative, smiling, completely put me at ease! Then over to the day surgery area. Nurses running around from patient to patient so I figured I would just be another subject of the day. Wrong again! Every single nurse, as I watched them interact with patients were pleasant, patient, compassionate and with a smile. Same for the nurse who looked after me. I could not ask for anything more - I was taken care of with kindness, compassion and care. As for the doctors, there were two working simultaneously and each doctor came out to interact with their patients, mine, before and after the procedure. The medical staff has been through hell these past couple of years, yet every single medical personnel (and reception) I interacted with during this visit were professional, caring, kind and left me at ease. I cannot thank them enough!!!

My experience at this hospital was beyond frustrating. The waiting time was absolutely insane – a whopping 3 hours just to meet with a doctor. My 2-year-old daughter was suffering from a breathing problem, and it felt like they couldn't care less about giving her even basic first aid. We had to beg for Tylenol to bring down her fever. If you have a heart condition, avoid this place at all costs; you might not make it through the wait. I tried approaching the nurses multiple times, but they seemed uninterested in helping. The registration staff were equally unhelpful, and it was complete chaos. To make matters worse, I witnessed a man in excruciating pain, crying out for help, but they didn't provide any pain medication for a staggering 2 and a half hours. He was left to suffer without any sign of first aid or medication. Something is seriously wrong with this hospital. It desperately needs empathetic nurses, more staff, and probably increased funding from the government to improve its services. It's a place I wouldn't wish upon anyone in need of medical attention. I think walk-in clinics are faster than emergency here.

Worst experience ever don’t go here at all. Like not even one doctor has seen me today I have been waiting here for over 5 hours and still no one has seen me yet . I have been waiting from 10 . And not only that they have one doctor in this emergency. So if there’s 50 patients waiting their all waiting for that one doctor to see them. And if you ask questions to the staff their first response is they don’t know please sit down someone will assist you soon and that’s it. And the staffs here are very rude. I understand hospitals are busy and all but like basic information that staff can’t even respond back to you . What kinda medical system are we living in. They said I’m not allowed to have my husband beside me but everyone here is with their significant other or fam member. Like a rule for each individual it should not be the case. Like I’m sick and at the hospital I’m not asking for anyone but my husband to be here Cus it’s support I need when I’m sick . So disappointed with this hospital and will never go back to it. Worst hospital ever never had to write a review like this .

This was by far the worst hospital experience I have ever had. With the exception of 5 or 6 nurses, the rest were rude and short tempered; but they had no problem on the night shift laughing and talking loudly amongst themselves keeping patients awake. They would come into the room to check on myself and my roommate (2 bed room) without announcing themselves and scared my roommate to the point that she was hysterical and had to have her daughter come to the hospital at 4:30 in the morning. A couple of different nurses also fat shamed me, telling me that I would not fit into an XL diaper (which I did) and another one told me I would not fit into a normal wheelchair, but the physio team the first day had me sit in the normal size wheelchair with no problem. Then on my discharge day, one nurse told me that my pick up person would have to get a wheelchair from the entrance and bring it up to get me as she was too busy to take me downstairs. I have many friends who are nurses who were horrified to hear the treatment that I received. I hope to never visit this hospital again.

On Thursday, May 15, 2019. i came there as an Emergency case ( i had abdominal pain and back pain for 2 weeks) at around 2pm. I waited for an hour to my turn. Then i had my blood work and ultrasound. A doctor told me that i have CBD stone, told me to have a seat and wait for him to find me a doctor for my case. I waited there for more than 2 hour (around 6:30pm to 9pm) for him to come back and say that he couldn't find me a doctor for my case. Then he charged me $75 for Emergency doctor's assessment and treatment (even though i had already given my insurance card at the beginning). The guy also just preferred cash or cheque and did not accept visa or debit. I was so exhausted due to the whole day i did not eat anything for the blood work, i just wanted to go home at that time, so i had to walk to the ATM machine in the hospital to withdraw cash for him. Then he referred me to another doctor outside the hospital (until now i still do not understand why a hospital like this DOES NOT have a doctor for my case and have to refer me to an outside doctor). Really disappointed.

This hospital will remain as a nightmare for rest of my life. I brought my wife on Jan-1, 2023 late night calling 911 and she was kept assessing nothing till 3rd Jan 2023 until a MRI was done. on 2nd Jan at some point I was told by the emergency nurse and Doctor to take her home though she was unable to stand on feet or swallow anything! with my earnest request and refusal they did MRI next day and she was identified a stroke on 3rd Jan after passing 40hrs since we brought her to this hospital emergency. Its stroke unit & rehab is worse in the town. It seems full of Indian friends & family job business in the unit. Nurses and doctors are mostly Indian and unprofessional. I doubt they are well trained and did any profession courses in Canada! I might go for lawsuit against them what they have done to my wife and I had to manage transfer to other hospital in downtown after 5 weeks of nightmare in this hospital and stroke unit. Don't come to this hospital if you have little love and care for your patient. Ontario health should take audit and action against this hospital.

WORST HOSPITAL. I wouldn’t come here with a splinter. I spent about 24 hours in the emergency room and the nurses barely checked on me, and I had to cuss one of the RUDE nurses Who had told me to be patient after I have been sitting on their stiff chairs for about 10 hours already. In the ER they don’t give you water unless you ask about 10 times and you have to wait about two hours for the water. And I even had an ER doc tell me that I should be thankful because I’m sitting on one of the best recliners in the ER. Once I was administered I was treated very nice by the nurses upstairs God bless their souls, (Cherrie & Momta) but unfortunately due to the treatment I Received in the ER I will never come back. I had a few nurses that drew my blood even tell me that there was enough beds up here and there’s no reason why I should be waiting downstairs for about a day. I had a surgery here last year and it went well which is why I opted on coming here but this is the worst experience I have ever had. I would’ve had better luck going across the border and paying for care.

If I can put no star for this doctor , I would do so here . There is a doctor in the Emergency department at this hospital name Dr. Michael Lim CPSO 88352. This doctor attended to a family member in the emergency department, and my family member needed a medical note for work purposes. He insisted it is $20 and wants cash. We were under so much stress , most vulnerable in the moment, just want to get things done as it was difficult to find Michael Lim CPSO 88352, we had no choice to pay him because of the situation we were in. He gave us no receipt for that $20 paid to him in cash. My family and I have been to this hospital in the past, and no doctor never ever charged us for a medical sick leave , when we came in Emergency department and demand cash . Public be aware of this Doctor. He should not be in this occupation, when patient are most vulnerable , he is asking for cash to give a medical certificate (sick note) for work purposes and who knows what elese he is demanding cash for as well from people. I hope the higher authority looks into this and stops it.

I had an emergency csection 2 weeks ago, they did not let me do skin to skin with my baby at all, I even cried yet no. They did not teach me how to breastfeed nor did they help me change my pads. I ended up getting UTI because no nurse wanted to help me. I didnt know how to breastfeed kept asking for help no one helped, baby cried for milk and when I asked for forumal the nurses said ok but never got it for me. My baby cried all three nights out of hunger and no one seemed to care. The doctors are amazing and very helpful but I personally think most of the nurses especially the young ones should be fired!!! I even asked for painkillers as I was in so much pain yet they refuse to give me!!!! I regret it so much to have my baby here, I missed out on my babies skin to skin and now have trouble breast feeding. If you are planning to have a csection at this hospital please dont, you will regret as much as I did...they do not look after you! This hospital sucks! If I had a choice I would give this hospital No stars!

i got sent here from scarborough general emergency to get my lab test results after 2 days. had an appointment so i get here show them the department and it ends up being at the paeds short stay clinic. when i get there they tell me i'm 20 years old and they only see babies which i didn't know about so they can't see me?! if they weren't able to treat me why would they allow the appointment to be booked in the first place. nurses at the front of emergency directed me and were genuinely sweet and helped me out to get seen but i just think it's really unprofessional to send someone all the way here and tell them to leave. whoever booked the appointment isn't doing their job properly. they can see my age on file but didn't bother to call and let me know i can't be treated. i had to take time off work for this and i'm so mad i literally want to cry because i don't know what i have. currently still waiting in emergency AGAIN and going through that whole process just get my results.

We are luckly 90+ Mom in good shape for her age. Recently, she experienced difficulty breathing. Her family doctor away, we took her to walk in clinc and chest x-ray, which indicated significant fluid in right lung. Took Mom to nearby SHN - Birchmount Hospital emergency, which was very busy. It took quite some time, but CT scan performed which confirmed the fluid. Mom (who speaks very little English) was well treated by emergency doctors, nurses and staff, for which we are very thankful, then admitted to 4th floor under the care of Dr. Berhani and Dr. Sandra Marcus (wonderful doctor, thoughtful and compassionate). Fluid was drained by catheter within 2 days, 5additional tests conducted, before being discharged. Throughout her stay, nurses and staff treated Mom very well, especially Dr. Marcus and Carmelia (?) lovely person - a big thank for the care and dedication! We really appreciate the hospital and staff, and the great care Mom received! Thank you!

My experience at this hospital was quite unpleasant to say the least. After my surgery, the nurses did not provide me with much information about the recovery process. All I got was reassurance that because my procedure was only an appendectomy, I should not be worried as I would be discharged soon. This sort of attitude by the nurse made me feel like they just wanted kick me out so they have room to admit the next patient. During my time of discharge, there was likely a shift change because I had not seen my initial nurse for at least 3 hours, and I ended up receiving my discharge instructions from another nurse that didn't even make it clear if she was assigned to me or not. This was my first time being admitted to a hospital and not being able to understand most of what was going on made me very anxious. Overall, just based off my personal experience, I don't think I would want to come back to this hospital in particular.

I am SO conflicted about this review. On the one hand, my sister came through the ER and was provided the right diagnosis immediately. She was in the ICU for two weeks followed by a week in intensive care and 9/10 of the nurses were simply AMAZING. The ER doctor was a little condescending but the specialist (contractor covering a mat leave) was phenomenal. On the other hand, I brought my dad to the ER here cause he wasn't feeling well with shortness of breath. They called our last name. When they were about to draw blood, we asked why it was necessary. The ER nurse responded non-chalantly with, "cause that's what the paperwork says". I asked her to double check and she was clearly irritated. Turns out there were THREE individuals in the ER with the same last night. They did not apologize and just laughed it off saying they couldn't believe there were three patients with the same last name. Unbelievable.

Not too long ago I took my 7 year old to that Hospital due to severe migraine. After staying more than 2 and half hour waitting in a room not even a nurse came to see me to check on my sick kid. When she was crying too much I went outside and started to complain after another 30 mn a nurse came to check on me . 1 hour later a doctor came. He did not even touch my child and he already assumed it's Covid and telling me there is nothing he can do (unbelievable). I had to tell him I did the test the day before. When he went and check he find out the test was negative . I am not sure where this doctor got his medical licence, he finally called the pediatrician, from there they transferred me to Centenary Hospital where she was Hospitalized. Long story short my daughter is now a sick kids patience. Scarborough Hospital the emergency department is terrible this is the worst Hospital to go to for emergency

This is the continuation of my previous review on Scarborough General Hospital. After waiting for 3 and half hours at Scarborough General emergency, I left with my 95 year old father. Next morning I took my dad to Scarborough Grace. What a contrast! My dad got the treatment and when we left we spent 1 and half hour there. The number of other patients at the time for both hospitals are about the same. When we were there, there were about 6 or 7 patients in front of us. At General, I saw other patients who cam after us got the treatment first. At Grace, the doctor there was so efficient and he dealt with each patient promptly and I could see that all patients were satisfied with his treatment. Even the nurse there was very nice as he had to treat my dad's wound. They are in the same "network" but I would really recommend that you go to Grace I stead of General.

I'm giving this place a 1star review. I would give it a minus 5 review, but apparently this is not allowed. The 3rd floor of his hospital allegedly, (I say allegedly because this is not a field that one should take their duties so 'avant garde'), caters to mental health issues. Dr. Denise Sum is a Dr. at this hospital. She has a staff member that has the sensitivity of a doorstop. This person was confrontational with with me as I waited. Saying, 'you are really early you know'. Like i was not aware of this? I had an appointment with this Dr. Sum at and towards the end of march which I showed up for, early. Hence the attitude from her reception staff. With my being early she/ the Dr. seemed to think this entitled her, or granted her the right to make me wait, which I think was completely unprofessional. The appointment was moot. Nothing came to fruition!!

  • shobhit prabhakar

The emergency unit must change its name to "Tortoise Unit". No person was sitting at the "First Point Contact" of the EU. The registration counter quotes, "The clerk will attend to you if they are free." You must serve the patients, not discharge some favor/obligation! It felt more like a high school recess rather than a professional hospital. You cannot just mix general consultation cases with serious critical ones along the same lines of execution. Rude, non-cooperative and mentally absent staff will boost your frustration and dismay. Arrive here with your camping stuff rather than the purpose of seeking immediate medical attention! Another visit...and the theater of shame continues!!!! Waiting in deep anticipation to meet a doctor like a paparazzi waiting to interview a celebrity for a tabloid !!!

  • Annie S

The employees in the ER department are very rude But completely different in the surgery department: Staff working in the surgery department are nice. What made the experience great were the doctors and anesthesiologist. I must say they were excellent. Both of them went above and beyond considerate, they thought of what would be best and convenient for the patient and came to find me in person after he was done with my family members surgery. Dr. Chan didn't call me like what the nurses said, he came to me in the cafeteria. Surprised me that they took the extra effort to speak to me. I don't know the name of the Asian anesthesiologist but he's great too, he understood what would be comfortable for the patient and noticed and did something about when the multiple nurses that came didn't.

Came in to assist with my mother with her holter appointment. The nurses at the cardiac diagnostics testing were very professional and open to answer questions. However, we went to the general internal medicine clinic to ask for a clarification of our appointment dates, but the blonde secretary was very rude and unprofessional. My mom has difficulties communicating and understanding English, so the secretary began an entire rant about how my mom has never tried to call the hospital first to clarify. She states that someone always answers and that we should have tried that option first. I sincerely hope she was just having a bad day because that kind of behaviour should not be directed towards any patients, especially for something as simple as asking about an appointment date.

Ok, so no hospital is ever a 5 star experience, but I have had enough personal ER experiences (most as a patient) to have a fair basis for reference. Scarborough Birchmount (Scarborough Grace) has frequently not been a quick stop, but I have always been taken seriously, treated with respect, and listened to as a partner in my care. Would I have enjoyed faster pain relief? Sure, but in an ER it's appropriate for more serious issues to be treated first. I have found the ER clean, bright (ok my migraines would prefer less light), and noise kept at appropriate levels. Doctor's, nurses, techs, etc are attentive, well educated and responsive. If I have to go to an ER this is my overwhelming choice of hospital in the GTA.

Just had a MRI this morning and I am very impressed with my experience. Things are well organized. I walked in and was asked the COVID safety questions and given a mask and an orange wristband. Then went to register and the woman was really nice and friendly for 7:30 am :) When I arrived at the MRI location, I was asked several questions then asked to change. I didn't have to wait and went straight in. Both MRI Technologist Sruthy and Ken were very nice and really patient. Ken has a great sense of humor and is very cool. The hospital is fortunate have such amazing staff. I've had MRI's done before but I have never felt so comfortable and well taken care like as on this visit. COVID protocols were strictly enforced!

Would rate no stars if I could. Came to emergency today after 5 days of feeling dizzy nauseous and headache so bad I could barely get out of bed. My brother had a stroke at 23 and a brain aneurysm at 30 so this kind of thing isn’t a joke to my family. Was basically ignored for the first 20mins and then had my name taken and told to wait for triage. Waited 2 1/2 hrs and they never called my name to allow me to even tell them what the problem was. I tried to inquire at front desk and was repeatedly ignored and brush off. Apparently people had been waiting 4+ hrs just to be triaged. Left without any help or care. Very disappointed in lack of compassion or availability of care and will never go back to this hospital.

  • Emre Karatas

I think it is unfair that this hospital has such a low review score due to its emergency. The wait times of emergencies in Ontario are outrageous. On the other hand we had such an amazing experience in the maternity ward at this hospital. We came here for the delivery of our baby girl. We stayed here for 3 nights and interacted with at least 15-20 staff members. There was not a single bad experience. The staff was caring, professional and knowledgeable. We would like to mention a few special individuals. Thank you our nurses Sandra and Ashley during the delivery day. Thank you our Drs. Ambika Aneja and Karen Hew. Your dedication to wellness of us was nothing short of admiration. We are indebted as a family.

These stars are for the ER nurses that helped me deliver my baby in January this year. I would give them 10 stars because they were exceptional, kind, caring, funny and so respectful. I wish I knew all their names but i think the head nurse was Michelle. I accidentally went to this hospital instead of general and was fully dialited, ready to push. Michelle immediately assessed me while all the other nurses said they're not going to take me. It was hectic and chaotic but because of Michelle and the nurses that helped me, it was a great birth compared to my previous 2. Other than the nurses that were with me, the triage nurses were horrible and rude to my mom and husband who just wanted to be with me.

  • Wayne Szeto

Overall a positive experience. The ER Drs (Lee and Brooke) were great. Especially Dr Brooke who shows she really care about her patients. The lady who did the stitching (believe her name is Sarah) is also exceptional. The nurses were also excellent in general. The wait time at the ER is about 5 hours long, but is pretty much the same everywhere in the city. I would have given a 5 star, but witnessed a few mistakes made by the male nurse in the entrance ER area. He gave forms to the wrong patient to fill out, and appear not on top of things when his colleague came and ask for updates. He claimed to have work there for many years, which made me concern how many mistakes he might have made in the past.

My son went to ER with time sensitive situation. I was talk to MOA my son have a timely sensitive condition and she was approached right away and tell me to go to registration right away and she was bringing my son to exam room after triage. The emergency doctor was pretty young he knows what to do. Order to go to ultrasound and call the surgeon to come to ER room. He went to surgery within golden time with Dr. Jonathan chan at the Scarborough grace. I have a concern about my son condition and Dr. Jonathan call my son right away asking about his condition. I am not complaining about this place. They know what to do. If the patient has extremely urgent condition they know what to do! Periods!

We were here for the maternity ward and the birth of our daughter. We had a great experience. All the staff and nurses were great. We had quite a few over our 2 days and everyone was professional, knowledgeable and kind. This is a smaller hospital but it didn't feel like the ward was too busy. We had a private room and it was comfortable. The room was a little dull but I think it is under going some renovations at this time. A few suggestions would be to bring some outside food or have family bring some. After 2 days of just Tim Hortons it gets a little redundant. Also, bringing a few pillows from home and a blanket if someone is going to be staying over is nice to add some extra comfort.

my wife is waiting for three hours but no effort was made to have her checked by the doctors nor nurses in the ER. she may have bacterial infection or worse and time is the essence all their nurses are just engaging in gossip and the on duty doctor just looked on the chart without doing anything. is it because the case is beyond their expertise or are they lazy and kills the time because their shift is ending soon? waste of tax payer money the people who are on duty from 2:00pm to 4:00pm eastern time. may i also ask is the green line in ER means slow and take your time line or maybe is this a hospital for the dead? No one even gave an advice on what to do all they always say is just wait.

Emergency was not fully loaded with patients I quickly got my turn and was sent for a CT scan. Emerge doctor and all nurses are amazing. Surgeon came in and explained to me about my surgery. From that point on to when I was discharged it felt like I was being treated by my family. They didn’t let me feel alone for one bit. You guys are amazing. Today I went to the ER due to having shortness of breath and having heart problems. The minute I walked in there wasn’t much help or anyone helping me with registration or anything I sat for almost an hour before being approached about being seen. The nurse who took me in the ER her name is Irene was very pleasant and made the experience a lot better for me. She was very gentle and made sure I was comfortable. Would definitely recommend her for anyone going to the ER. Once in the rapid assessment zone it was a longer wait but the doctors and nurses I do recommend Christopher; he did explain thoroughly what they would be doing and help you through the process.

THE WORST HOSPITAL! I have been to this hospital 4 times, every time an emergency; twice for a friend, twice for myself. I feel the ENTIRE staff has been trained how to be rude to patients. 3 times we have come back with no treatment. I wish I could write how exactly I feel when I am here. They simply don't care about you. The doctors talk rudely too. We waited 4 hrs to be attended and no one came. My friend was crying with pain and the doctor passed by without even looking at him. Even an animal responds to crying humans! I hope the management sees my message and trains them to be empathetic. That's the least they can do to someone in pain!

  • Rin T

Had acute appendicitis several days ago and was admitted in the emergency department. Thank god that the staffs are so friendly and nice during the process, and the doctors have time so that I was lucky enough to have the operation two hours later after I arrived to the hospital. I had stayed in bed for several hours. Speaking of this, the room is very quiet and clean too. It have a big window that facing the road, one bed, and separate washroom. It’s like a room in hotel. The nurses also bought me warm blankets and waters too. Very cozy. Would give 10 out of 5❤️. Still, hopefully I won’t be admitted because of other sickness again

I had a fantastic experience at the MRI department yesterday. The technologist and the staff were professional, kind and extremely patient. I have claustrophobia and have had bad imaging experiences before so I was very scared. The technologist gave me as much time as I needed, answered all my questions, helped me practice going in and out of the MRI, gave me a pillow to put under my legs, an eye napkin and also a panic button. Please note, I had also brought my own sedation so that eased the process too. Nevertheless, the professionalism, patience and compassion of the staff at the Birchmount hospital was exceptional!!

I almost never leave reviews. I don’t have the time, and I know how hard it’s been on front line workers, ESPECIALLY in hospitals. And I hate that I even have to do this. Whoever the receptionist is today (morning of December 15th 2022) for Yvonne Scott at the fracture clinic needs to rethink her attitude I can’t believe she was even hired. I’m not sure if she realizes people can have more injuries than just a fracture and can be in pain? I don’t know if she realizes she can’t just be mean to people on the phone who are politely trying to clear up misunderstandings? But her work ethic is absolutely offensive.

My mother was in between chemotherapy treatments at Princess Margaret hospital when she came down with a fever. We were told to go to the ER immediately if she fevered. I brought her down to Scarborough Grace, only to learn how incompetent the doctors are here. They left us in a room for 8 hours, gave her some tylenol and sent us home. The next day we went downtown to Toronto General ER, and they admitted her immediately and gave her antiobiotics. My mom almost died because of Scarborough General's incompetence. This hospital consists of second tier doctors who couldn't make it to a real hospital. Beware!

  • This is MyAccount

Went to the nearest hospital after speaking with a telehealth nurse. Been here before - expected bad service so I set a timer on my phone. Waited 30 minutes for triage (literally only 2 other people in the waiting room also trying to figure out how to be seen) Asked how long it would be before my family member was seen and was told 'if it really matters there are other hospitals'... We left taken aback by the response. Paid for parking as well. Family member has been admitted at another nearby hospital... Glad they're finally being seen and taken seriously. - can't post a review with less than one star.

I was at the hospital last week for the birth of my nephew. I would not recommend this hospital. The majority of nurses are miserable and rude. The looks and the treatment say it all, however there were a handful of nurses that were great (Andrea, Kirsi & the transfer Amanda) Dr. Silver who did the surgery was great as well. The room we got transferred to after surgery was filthy. The nurses had just tossed dirty bloody sheets on the chair instead of placing in the appropriate place. The bathroom was filled with dirty sheets and garbage from the previous patient. Overall not a good experience!

Many yrs ago, I was doing my X ray middle of the night, the old staffs (white staff). he is so rush and no care to place my arm s ray without any protection, I was so painful until next day and realize what he done, and complain to the Doc there. He told me should not get more x ray within 3-5 yrs, then later file complain to hospital and answer me back low dosage radiation acceptable. then I never go back and near the hospital since. Then, 2 days I went back what a surprise, all change, new management, new staffs and professional. haven't see that old white union staff anymore

  • Heather Scagel

I gave birth here on Friday, and I had the best experience I could hope for in childbirth. I had seen the other bad reviews and I was a bit worried going in, but I was treated so well I had to come back here to give a good review. The entire Maternity staff was exceptional, being the perfect mix of kind, caring, and yet still professional. We were treated so well, and when my son had trouble feeding, they took so much extra care to help us get through it. I never worried once that I or my newborn weren't getting the proper care. Thanks to the entire staff for the great care.

  • Jen Vivian

The kind and compassionate care that my mom received from the hospital staff is a testament to their dedication to patient well-being. From the moment we arrived at the hospital, the staff went out of their way to ensure that both my mom and I were comfortable and at ease. This level of care is not always easy to come by, and it is truly inspiring to see healthcare professionals who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of their patients. My mom is recovering amazingly from her knee replacement surgery performed by Dr Caroline Scott. She is a godsend

  • Kyra Ottier

This hospital has money for renovations but not for staff? There is no triage here I've been waiting over 2hrs just to be registered or assessed in emergency... What do we pay taxes for? Because at this point it's more affordable to go to the states and pay for healthcare so I can survive. I am without a family doctor and have no alternatives to get help. Who do we report this to? How do we get justice? For privacy reasons I cannot photograph the lineup but both sides of the emergency department are full - this is 3yrs after the pandemic - how do Canadians get help?

  • Mike Lazenby

I have made repeated attempts to contact people in various departments to investigate a privacy problem. No one ever returned my calls, no emails were ever returned to me. When I called in a final attempt to escalate this to someone's attention, the switchboard was extremely rude, refused to identify herself, and forwarded my call to a random department. The whole system of communication and attitude toward customer service is among the worst that I have ever seen. I will be pursuing formal complaints, assuming I am ever able to reach someone at this institution.

My boyfriend cut his finger on the job site, we went to emergency and asked the person who was in the receiption to see a doctor, she said we need to see the nurse first he came out and said this is not urgent I asked what is urgent then? He said when someone is dying! how ridiculous is that answer, the patient cut his finger all in blood and half of the finger the meat is coming out and he says that is not urgent, I really had the worst experience eveeeeeeeer in my life, this is not professional at all, health care workers should be more conscientious…

  • Zachary Lee

Did a day surgery here. Was okay, a bit confusing as I was here before and appointments, check-in and emergency were in a similar area making it easy to determine what you needed. Now they renovated the area and it's a bit confusing, for checkins, you go to appointments which is now around the corner from the emergency entrance and the emergency area is more confined. Overall, the nurses was nice and helpful. As most reviews says, don't go here for emergencies, the wait is unbelievable long(From experience) and when treated, it's not a guaranteed.

  • Piyaree Nathan

Spent hours waiting in ED during the night, then finally seen by an ED clinician who indicated to me that I can self refer to public health after an animal bite in the morning. Spoke to public health this morning, informed that a doctor is the only one who can make that referral. Appalling lack of clinical care and knowledge of basic emergency protocol following incidences like animal bites. I have every sympathy for the hard working health professionals during this pandemic, but this is not an excuse to lack general knowledge of basic protocols.

  • Jamal Pasha

Worst experience in emergency. Really rude staff. I went to the nurse and asked her politely that my wife is in pain, could you please have a look. She literally shouted at me saying she is busy filling up the form. I will come and have a look after I finish this. We are not their workers or slaves for them to respond in such a way. The management should address it. I have seen numerous notices asking parents to be polite but no notice asking the staff to be polite. Horrible experience guys. I will never go to this hospital again.

  • srinivas merugu

Doctors are very good in analysing medical issue and treat the patients with respect. A bad experience like my wife came along with me to take care during medical checkups, Iam having severe illness. The behaviour of staff is rude and there was a lady came in speaking that harshly that my wife is not allowed. The way of speaking is not good and showing ridiculous high attitude. She can convey us politely. But she did not, I suggest to make staff to educate polite speaking, as 50% of polite makes patient to cure 50% of illness.

  • Joseph Cain

I ran out of my inhaler in the middle of the night and of course the doctor was busy, but that's not the problem... The problem was that the nurse wouldn't even give me an inhaler while I was waiting while suffering from an asthma attack. For 3 hours I couldn't breathe and that nurse just watch me suffering. But another Nurse Wai Xiao in Non Emergency Care... (Dont know why I was in Non-emergency care with an asthma atteck) Anyways She IS AMAZING. She immediately got me an inhaler. And a Chamber. And made sure I felt better.

  • 小海2019owen

Stomach pain is unbearable. After the examination, I took a T&C to get the result. I got appendicitis for the first time. I went to the emergency room and waited for two hours. But the doctor in charge was very serious and very helpful. The doctor in charge was very good. Seriously, there are also nurses in the hospital who are also very responsible to help me change the dressing 24 hours a day. It will be cured only slowly. Don’t be too impatient. It will be cured sooner or later. You should also pay attention to hygiene

  • Kay A

Dr. J Chou and the emergency department are angels! Dr. Chou clearly has a passion for what he does and that is rare to find in todays day and age! They took amazing care of my mother who had trauma from another hospital from the night before! All of the medical staff who cared for my mother last night were just amazing! I can’t say enough good things! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! And Dr. J Chou.. I hope you never loose that passion you have for your work! You are definitely a rare gem in a field of rocks.

  • Nancy Zhang

The doctors (not ER nurses nor ER entrance staff) were extremely nice. Underwent a surgery at this hospital at midnight, was suppose to leave in the morning. However, things went wrong and they allowed me to stay for one more night. The nurses that was working in the patient's rooms were helpful and nice. Overall, ER staff were rude, rushing, and pushy. But once you make it past the ER, staff (most that I encounter) are nice and friendly. There is wait time for everything. Even if you have an appointment.

  • Grace wheeler

Tried calling the switchboard to connect me to nurses station at Birchmount site today but operator was rude and refused to do so. Kept repeating someone will call me, but how could they if they do not have my telephone number??? This Hospital is repeatedly asking for my donation but with this kind of inadequate and unprofessional service I would say to everyone in Scarborough to do not donate to a service that hires untrained staff to respond to public query, is unreliable and inefficient at its best.

  • Victor E

Class action lawsuit worthy hospital. Scarborough Health Network, some* of your employees are not upholding their basic healthcare duties and violating patient rights. Bad experience at the ER. One of your nurses refused to help read a form out for proper understanding to someone who doesn’t understand English very well by saying “I don’t have time”. Maybe phone translators and make an effort to communicate information thoroughly. Wish I had filmed this, so there would be evidence. Beyond upsetting.

  • Amy Huang

The nursing station in the emergency center lacked compassion. They were completely rude. The nurse just tossed us a pee bottle to use and empty ourselves. Took the doctors over 3 hours to look at the x-ray. The service is absolutely garbage. Save yourself the trouble of coming to this hospital and find yourself a better one. Edit: It's been almost 12 hour since we've checked into the emergency, and 5 hour since we've got the x-ray done. And a single doctor is yet to come look at the x-ray.

  • T Sal

WORST AND UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE !! Got call from ext 5339 for appointment. The Rep was so unprofessional and untrained that 3 times she rescheduled appointment . calling just 2 hour before the appointment saying we have to reschedule . previously she did same and then called back again that it was a mistake I can keep the same appointment. if they cant even handle appointments then how can you even except for them to do your treatment properly. I will escalate this to Health Ontario .

  • Shifa Shaikh

Just had the worst experience with their switchboard operators, the woman on the phone was quite impatient, extremely rude and honestly it was the worst experience I've ever had speaking with someone over the phone. I was asking her to confirm on a few things and heard a lot of huffing and puffing from her end, ultimately she didn't answer my questions and just hung up! Better to go in person to speak with someone professional than get an experience over the phone like this!

  • Ann Alves

My husband was taken to the hospital three times between April 15 and June 17/19. The first time his vital signs were failing but the emergency doctors and nurses worked very hard on him to stable his condition. He was admitted immediately and taken very good care of. Since then, he was taken to emergency twice. My experience at this Scarborough Hospital - Birchmount has been very good, Don't be fooled by the size of the hospital. My thanks and appreciation to the staff.

  • BRIAN Pape

First responders took me in for an infected bladder. They were professional in every way. From then on it was a series of beds and scans into ICU. Throughout the process of me fading in and out all nurses doctors were professional trying to take care of my needs. Despite a cautious diet I ended up with good soups, shepards pie and Salisbury steak. Couldn't taste better. Thank you nurses for all your care. Kept an upbeat attitude despite the sad circumstances around me.

  • Htiek Nosbor

Hello, I had waited in the ER as I was bleeding and fainted twice both from my own panic of what was happening, and from the pain and loss of blood I was experiencing. My carer decided it was best to start treating on my own rather than wait another 3 hours for my assessment. My situation had gotten worse becuase of this hospitals lack of initiative to care of their patients and for the lack of staffs in general. One day people will experience worse from these waits.

  • Mr. Law

My son got an injury on his leg on July23/23. There is basically no line up in front of us. Quickly, we have moved from triage to many steps then finally met the Dr. who sent him for the X-ray. UP until this point, it's like 45 mins....then we wait for half an hour for the assessment and Dr came to us to discharge him....So I would say in this ER experience, it is like 2 hrs which I had prepared for 6 hrs..... So many thanks to the medical staffs in the ER department

  • jerzy krzep

I am very pleasantly surprised by the staff of this hospital, starting from the entrance and ending after the surgery to the postoperative orthopedics ward where I am currently staying. All medical staff is so helpful and smiling that I feel at home and at one point I forgot that they were preparing me for hip replacement surgery. Congratulations to all of you for your hard work and such a great approach to it. I am delighted. I wish you a lot of fun ... Thank you

  • Fanna Rad

The system at Emerge here is awful! There is a young guy at the front door that keeps track of people on a yellow sticky note! He forgot to give someone a wristband but when the patient complained, the guy claimed somehow he's keeping track! We've been here for over 5 hours now! Still haven't been able to see a doctor. There is only one lady working in the Triage! I've never in my entire life have waited at any hospital for this long! And we are still waiting ...

  • Claire Turnbull

My father just spent 10 days at this hospital until he was recently admitted into a hospice. Upon arrival they found gangrene in his heels. Nothing was mentioned by the hospital. The staff at the hospital were uncaring and “numb”, probably the worst place I have ever been in my life. If you can avoid this place and seek medical care anywhere else available please do so. My heart goes out to anyone that has the misfortune of having to go here for any reason.

  • Judi Baker

I brought my adult son to this hospital yesterday. There was no waiting at all. The triage nurse had him moved into the resuscitation room immediately. He spent the day there and was subsequently transferred to ICU. He was seen by 3 different doctors, the RT team and RN's. Every single staff member was professional and very caring. I would not hesitate to return. This was not my first visit and I have never encountered rude staff or long wait times.

  • Khaleoud

Initial nurse we saw at emerg was okay, but gave little to no instructions on what to do or where to go. We had to ask multiple nurses before we were instructed to follow a green line on the floor. No one told us there could only be one visitor present before we entered. However a nurse inside rudely told us there could only be one. I understand they probably go through this multiple times a day and was annoyed, but she gave so much attitude.

  • Lindsay Yang

Did anyone ever waited 10 hrs here? Well …… let me tell you !!! I have !!! Omg the worst of the worst experience ever!!! waited more than one hour to be register at the triage and another four hours to see the doctor after that get some test done . Ultrasound was not send back to the doctor , they accidentally forgot about me somehow. Have to check back-and-forth back-and-forth with doctor after 10 + hours finally it over!!!!!

  • Alex Pred

Arrive 1.5hr after appointment time to have a reasonable waiting period. As I write this I’m sitting in the waiting room of the fracture clinic. The wait is at almost 2 hours and there is no explanation from staff other than it’s busy. While waiting though you have an opportunity to catch up on the social lives of all the staff as they greet each other, text, laugh and catch up as if on an incredibly dull episode of greys anatomy.

  • richie law

Took my mother to the ER last week; I was very glad that she was in capable hands. I went there as well when I had a stroke. Thank you for your service; my gratitude and respect will never fade for the first responders. I encourage everyone to be patient not everything is "McDonald's" just imagine other countries that have no public health we are very blessed to be in a country that has free health care for everyone. (^__^)

  • Elmira SK

I went in to the Emergency room today for a very bad cut that was bleeding for almost a day. Staff were very nice and friendly. I was triaged by a nurse immediately and in less than 30 minutes got my turn to see the on call Doctor. Dr. Lee was incredible, very understanding and compassionate. He did a great job taking care of the cut. I couldn't ask for a nicer doctor. Thanks to all the staff at Birchmount Hospital.

  • zuhra sharif

Very slow, and unorganized hospital. Keep patients waiting for hours only to see them for a few minutes. When you ask how much longer do I have to wait they have no idea. Not very compassionate with the patients. You see a doctor treat one patient and then they are gone for almost an hour till they come back to treat one other patient. And the waiting time is so frustrating, you regret ever coming to the doctors.

  • Stephanie P

The ER was overrun and the doctor was over worked. The nurses were rude and one of them just walked away with the pain medication that was supposed to be administered to me and did not return for half an hour. The lack of compassion by half the staff was disappointing. Some of the nurses were wonderful. Overall a horrible experience and I wish the ambulance had brought me to another hospital instead.

  • Sherica N

Thank you so much to All the Nurses and staff here, especially to the nurses on the 3D ward, very caring and passionate in their care for patients. I can’t remember all names but Dr Islam, the initial ER Dr Ken (I believe ) really appreciate your help, Keep doing your best as you seek to assist those in need of excellent health care backed by great customer service. One Love

  • Debbie M

I work with customers everyday. It takes special people to help people. Today I had a steroid injection. From The volunteers to patient registration to the registration desk at Digital imaging to the so nice technician and doctor who administered the injection. Thank you. Your kindness and empathy were amazing. It did not go unnoticed. Thank you for loving to help people because it shows.

  • Tishkof Aziz

It's a very, very bad hospital. The team working there has absolutely no respect for patients. Also, I went from 1 am until 6 am and only saw the doctor for two minutes then the nurses are so rude they never come to your aid, However, I hope the government and the head of this hospital will review the comments of the citizens. Then work on it. A team cannot defame a hospital.

  • Dakota Jensen

I had an appointment at 3 today and missed my appointment therefore I’ve been trying to get a hold of the right people. But these people don’t want to help you they’ll hang up the phone say they can’t help me and I all needed was to be sent to the proper person. They didn’t give me the name of my doctor so how can I reach them ? Not very pleased and need this appointment

  • kris

thank you so much for taking care of my daughter, it was really a great experience, nurse Lenie and nurse Sandra was really good and very helpful with our concern! :) Sandra even gave my daughter a toy that she opened right away when we get home , and to doctor Nicole and doctor Tatum professionally handled our daughter's concern! thank you so much!

  • Jessica Moukhtar

The administration clerks are so rude, they didn’t even say your welcome when I said thank you. Management needs to train their front desk on customer service. Despite the very long wait in emerg the Dr is very sweet and kind. Nurse Irena is amazing I wish I can contact her manager to tell them how blessed and lucky they are to have a nurse like her.

  • weezul

After my second cataract surgery, I have to say that Dr. Rathee and his team were wonderful. They helped me each step of the way, were very informative and pleasant to be around. Dr. Rathee has a great team (and he's the best in terms of patient relations). He has a fabulous group of health care professionals who take great care of their patients!!

  • Jenny L

My Grandmother was at SHN birchmount for 2 weeks. The doctors and nurses, GEM nurse were understanding of her condition and empathetic. She was eventually admitted to 4A. Most staff were wonderful and caring. Dr. Sri was wonderful, he gave us a medical update daily on her condition. Thank you for everything. We appreciate the care she received.

  • Afzal Shaikh

Dr Pinto in emergency ward needs to get her credentials checked. I was there for 4 hours and she calls me gives me a print out and then walks say. No conversation, no questions, nothing! Did you become a Dr to really help people or just walk around saying your one? The nurses and staff on the other hand were awesome! They are the real heroes.

  • Joye Jefferson

Have been to this hospital several times in the last few months. To the lab, imaging department, fracture clinic, infectious disease, and recently stayed for a knee surgery. Everyone from this hospital has been exceptionally nice. Very pleased with the amount of compassion the nurses, doctors, and administrators have. Best service in the GTA!

  • Munchies Chicken

I would prefer a quick death instead of slow waiting here in the ER. You would have believed me if I told you that you were visiting a hospital in a third world country. This is so sad. How the tax payers money have gone to waste. Its torment is more horrifying than any other disease you may experience or encounter. Its truly a living hell.

  • Melissa Rodrigues

Very pleased with my experience here. My husband has emergency surgery for his appendix and the staff really attended to him with great care. They were all so kind and very helpful. Would like to thank Dr. Nallapaneni, Dr. Nariman Malek, Dr. Padma Jain and the nurses, Leonora Delacruz, Tess Brown, Lee Ma, Efthimia Vagopoulos, Nida Noble.

  • We want Healthy Happy ppl!

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that helped save my life. The healthy food selection of 3 meals a day was getting more tastier for the days I stayed overnight sleeping on the bed and participating in activities. The only thing that scared me was the flashing of the lights in your face which the nurses called regular checkin's.

  • Anson Anton philip

Not even worth one star to be honest, I had told the nurse I fell and landed on my back and then my head bounced off the ground, they reported as a neck injury. I got there at 530pm , they called me at 9pm, I was in so much pain and could not be helped right away. I would never come back to this hospital even though I can walk there.

  • Fran Hammond

My husband went for cataract surgery today. It was a very pleasant experience. First, parking is easy. When we walked in Staff was at the entrance to help us register and direct us to the proper area. At the eye clinic, the staff was efficient, friendly and caring. I don't have any bad to say about this small efficient hospital.

  • P Hein

My 96 year mother had a bad fall and was taken to this hospital. I can’t say enough good things about the doctors and nurses here. They kept us inform regularly of mom’s status throughout the day. They were kind and super nice! I don’t have any complaints or issues at all. Thanks to everyone at this hospital for your great care.

  • Wondwosen Gedamu Gebeyehu

I visited the ER last week for my son was seek. The staff including the nurses, the doctor, technicians were helpful and friendly. Of course after the initial assessment, we waited for about three hours to see the doctor. I know this is not uncommon now days. I sincerely appreciate your service. Parking is expensive though.

  • iFurgiee de Walmart

So called doctor Li caring so much. Such fake face. Asian guy who only push around a cart and a computer typing typing and giving patients medicine which they don’t even need. This hospital doesn’t even meet anyone’s requirements. It deserves a low rating. If it’s not the closest hospital here, I would not have been here.

  • Ellard Cruz

We came yesterday Monday (morning between 9:30 am March 6, 2023 at Emergency Room we waited for almost 6 hours worst hospital especially in Triage One nurse is very Rude she is black , very impatient, I encounter … You have to learn Good Manners and Right Conduct… Extremely Rude Nurse … I experienced …#Respect . …

  • Mrs. KAT

I am here right now. The hospital in the CT scan lost my husband's requisition., but we received appointment and confirmation of appointment but the woman in CT scan said there is no requisition.. so now. We have to phone doctor and ask him to resend requisition, extremely unorganized. And unprofessionalism!!!!

  • Wendy Walton

I'm such a lucky woman! Got treatment at Scarborough Health - Birchmount Emergency for a fracture in my elbow area on my right arm. All staff were kind & I was pleasantly surprised that treatment to my small fracture was fairly quick. If anyone was apologizing, it was me for being a generally confused person.

  • Marsha Szabo

I had my vaccine at the Scarborough Grace clinic i was afraid the young Doctor was amazing she made me feel very comfortable and was very informative about vaccine. And made me feel safe. I recommend to anyone wanting to get shot to go to this clinic. Its walk in so you can go when you feel comfortable

  • Colleen Walker

Great hospital and friendly efficient staff always. it's disappointing to see so many in emergency that should be a walk in clinic. Glad they re-direct some to family physicians in specific area to deal with these types of non-emergencies. We are so lucky to have such good care in Scarborough.

  • Kevin Tan

Rudest emergency staff we have experienced. Unprofessional for people who are supposed to be medical professionals. Short staffing isn't a valid excuse for treating patients this way. Terrible wait times, I won't be surprised if patients' families waiting in the lobby catch sickness/diseases.
