Shannon’s Irish Pub and Eatery is located under the streets of downtown Winnipeg, across the street from the RBC Convention Centre and two blocks from the Bell/MTS Center. I visited it on a Saturday night with some friends after watching a hockey game.We ordered some home style food from their menu, which had a variety of dishes such as burgers, soups, fish and chips, stews, bangers, curry, and sandwiches. I had the fish and chips, which were crispy and tender, served with tartar sauce and coleslaw. The portion was generous and the price was reasonable. They also had 21 beers on tap, including local craft beers and fine scotch and Irish whisky. I tried their Guinness draught, which was smooth and creamy. They also have a happy hour from 4 to 9 p.m. daily, which is a great deal.

Came to celebrate a friends birthday and Eden was not pleasant whatsoever. Terrible attitude, not friendly and really ruined the experience for us. Took about 15 minutes to acknowledge us for drink orders when she was serving other tables in her section. Seems she lacks urgency, dropped off our food and didn’t return with condiments until we were finished. Dropped off the bill and did not return with a machine for almost 20 minutes. Rolled her eyes at us when we didn’t leave a tip after the horrendous service we received. As a restaurant manager myself I was appalled. We settled up with her and moved sections so we could enjoy our time and the karaoke was great along with the excellent service from the bartenders. Great atmosphere!

This is our first time visiting and it happened to be our last supper in Winnipeg before moving. I cannot imagine a better place to have eaten. The food was fresh and portions were very good. Prices were excellent! The beer was great (Kilkenny). Claire, our server, was friendly and attentive. And the manager made a point of rolling around to see us a couple of times. Just a good send off and they never knew it. Only disappointed that we can't go back tomorrow. Go! You will not regret it.

This is just a good wholesome pub, you are always amongst friends. The free Wednesday night trivia is usually my go to with a few colleagues, the variety of questions is quite something. Great selection of beers on tap and the fare from the kitchen never ceases to impress. We have noticed the nachos we routinely order have gotten smaller and smaller + the fixings on the top are less (especially cheese), though I feel like this is a sign of the times and not a unique issue to Shannons.

We stopped in Winnipeg driving from Ottawa to BC. Did a walking tour downtown and searched for a place to eat. Saw a great review for this pub and especially the lamb burger. Had to go. We weren't disappointed. We all enjoyed our food and I especially enjoyed the lamb burger. I highly recommend it. They also had a local band playing Irish/Gaelic music.... phenomenal. Really added to the already nice atmosphere of this pub. Sam M(I understand there are many Sams that work here) where excellent hosts and looked after us well. Thanks so much ladies!

The band Tater and the Tots there is amazing! Tater and the Tots sound waves make the food taste so delicious! Try out the burger while Tater and The Tots performs! His singing voice makes the food taste so good! I cannot eat if he is not singing. I need To hear his voice to eat the food. 10/10 recommend! Check it out!

Ordered a poutine and wings. Wrong order showed up (no big deal). Made Fiona (the server) aware that it was the wrong order that showed up. Not only did she not correct the error but she accused my girlfriend of ordering the wrong thing.. charged us for it. Been coming to Shannon’s for years, have never had this bad of an experience.

We had a server tonight named Mike. He was amazing. He knew the menu front and back and had great recommendations. Very attentive. Super friendly and easy going. Made the experience so great. We were there way before it got busy but still had a good time playing pool and darts.

Service is pretty abysmal here. Bartender is quite rude and they have some pretty goofy rules about their payment options. Benches are falling apart its honestly a miracle they're seating is staying together. I'd visit just to experience the terrible seating. Don't really get the hype around this place.

Bartenders were very rude and had very poor service. Bartenders were getting mad because people were saying "Hey, can we get some service" just for saying "hey" and not calling them by their name, but when people would ask them for their name they wouldn't get say. Would not recommend this bar at all, if you want good service go anywhere else but here. Also the drinks were no good.

You know what's great? Shannon's! I think winnipeggers often forget about this hole in the wall (basement) pub. They always deliver on good times, friendly staff and great food. The laid back atmosphere is welcoming for all, everyone is at home here. The drink special of the night? Water, shaken, not stirred, a fun treat/joke from our excellent server Marissa :) We will be back!

Can get over crowded on their most popular nights which seem to be their karaoke nights, well personally, Tuesdays and Saturdays is always a good time. Get up and sing, order some food and go sing or watch a band on many other nights. Popular place to go and good atmosphere. Located right downtown and definitely has that cheers vibe where everyone's friendly in there.

Great service food and atmosphere. It's always great to find a good Irish pub. My only complaint if I had to make one is that they weren't able to make the Guinness Battered Halibut and Chips due to a supply issue... this said I had the Ale Battered Cod and Chips and is was a good substitute. I've been here before when in Winnipeg and will definitely come again...

Shannon's has never let me down even on a Tuesday! You go in there for 1 or 2 you leave at last call havingbhad 50+ and a whole new friend group! The bar staff and servers call you by name and always have a smile or a story about it!

The food was tasty. Had cod and fries and the buffalo wings. The service was great. Mike made us feel at home and made sure our orders were out quickly and that we did not go thirsty. Atmosphere was fun. Caught the trivia night festivities. Didn't fair all that great with that. Oh well, still lots of fun.

Amazing fries, great service, good place! A solid selection of drinks. The singer who was there that night was talented and entertaining. Burger was mediocre; bacon was barely cooked, bun was weirdly stale-like crunchy, and only sauce in very center of the bun. A solid pub though, with amazing staff!

Been here a few times, always have the Kilkenny/Guinness on tap. Idk what took me so long to try the Irish stew but it was pretty damn good and the soda bread was fresh and very tasty. I was stuffed when I left, definitely slept well after that.

Great bar and nice atmosphere. The bartenders were friendly as they suppose to be. Didn't like that they have two dart boards and only one set of darts. So we had to wait for 25 minutes for other people to finish their game. Otherwise it was a great night, music was good, although a bit too loud.

I love this place. Always come here when I have meetings downtown. Love the atmosphere. Pretty good beer - I would like to see more local (Manitoba) brew. Food is pretty standard pub fare. Only downside might be the last two visits (Friday at 4pm and Tuesday at 6pm) all the bar maids had beards.

Really cool pub experience in Winnipeg. I love going after Jets games and concerts. They feature karaoke nights, live bands, and even a piano for patrons to play! Drinks and service are superb. Highly recommend!

Went here for a colleague's birthday party once. I've been back many times. Atmosphere is great, and music isn't too loud so that you can't have a conversation as well. Couple of pool tables, darts and good food to boot. Favourite pub in the city.

Had a great pint and fish and chips meal here. Located in the basement of the building which was a surprise…but a very unique location. There was a jazz trio playing in the stage. Food was awesome, location good, and overall feel was good.

Went after the jets game. Ordered a 1919 and a double bourbon. They asked for $43. I politely declined and left. Good luck with that plan. It’s too bad , I know the owner. Not sure about this. Seems like a cash grab. Not going back.

Best Irish Coffee I've ever had. Food was delicious. Had to ask a server if we could get more drinks, that was a slight inconvenience. They do have a full bar. No live music while we were there.... plenty of TVs for sporting events.

Mat(t) and Skyler do a great job of handling a busy bar. Owners do a great job of keeping the place fresh. You'll always find a good conversation at the bar and some friendly pool in the back.

Excellent food and good drinks! The only issue was with our waitress, the blonde one, who made the experience awful. She was rude to my SO, slow to check in on us, and seemed very distracted (checking her phone on the floor).

I ordered the original Shannons burger via Skip, added bacon an cheese but they sadly forgot to put the ingredients that the menu mentions like lettuce an tomatoes. Great burger patty but with nothing else on it very bland

The fish and chips were decent. Could just be their coleslaw recipe, but it tasted odd (as if not fresh) and was warm.

Was there late afternoon on a Saturday, there was a Celtic band playing. Friendly waitress, very attentive, didn't have to wait long between drinks. The food was excellent as always (I had the wings)

Yummy whiskey sours, great gent served me at the bar and looked after me all evening. All there servers were so nice and kind. I always have a good time here. Will mostly definitely be going back.

The owners here are some of my favorite people. The staff are always friendly. The food is great. They so many great live bands. It's so fun and I've never had a bad experience there.

Seemed like a happening place when I went on a weekend evening, the wings were good and they had a few cider options which I appreciated since that is my go to drink.

Great little pub, tucked away in the lower levels of the Delta block. Karaoke was pretty good, and the bourbon selection is respectable. Always had a fun time there.
