Subway station
"One of the worst subway systems around the world"
"Toronto Transit Commission TTC Terminal Subway Station"
"Great subway station, clean, easy to fallow directions and signs, lots of different entrance and exit points as well as many stores inside"
"On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, it was my first time"
"Somewhat difficult to navigate to the buses, only available at the north side of the platform, sometimes you miss the subway and head to the bus loop and vice versa"
One of the worst subway systems around the world. This being said after having tried subways in more than 20 cities in 4 continents. The whole thing seems to be falling apart with constant breakdowns of trains and stations. Let alone the fact that Toronto has experienced a surge of both residential and non-residential growth in the past 30 years and the subway system belongs to 1950s. Trains are old, staff are untrained, stations are small and narrow... worst of all is pricing and sales. They still use tokens! no RFID card! You can not charge or register a card. With the advancements in technology and the city being host to one of the best tech Startup studios like Mars and Blanc Labs, using no technology in cards and gates is a tragedy.
Toronto Transit Commission TTC Terminal Subway Station. North to Finch station and South to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station via Union Station. Also Connect Sheppard-Yonge Line 1 and Line 4 Don Mills stations. Busiest station, Rush hours more crowded with commuters. Station got many entrances, one of the entrance from renovated Yonge Sheppard Centre.Buses are from this station to Don Mills Subway Station, Sheppard West subway station, and other North York areas too. Station got Washroom, Gateway Newsstand, Starbucks coffee and Women's accessories stores. Station okay for Services and Clean.
Great subway station, clean, easy to fallow directions and signs, lots of different entrance and exit points as well as many stores inside. Better designed then most. The buses that run through here are kinda dirty tho. Most people rush through it during their commute but there is alot of social engineering and effort that goes into making the station easy to understand. Also helpful staff, I wouldn't try to jump over the toll both tho. Also there is also alot mentally ill people who are mostly harmless but can be off putting. As with all public transit carry mace or any other PDW with you.
On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, it was my first time. At this station, it is an interchange to Line 4; so, passengers have the option to switch lines. I rode on the bus but took a good while for me to find the right platform and/or to know how it works. CONFUSION Thankfully, a custodian quickly noticed from afar that I was lost. So, he gave me simple instructions by going up the stairs and go around. Finally, I found the right platform and got on the subway.
Somewhat difficult to navigate to the buses, only available at the north side of the platform, sometimes you miss the subway and head to the bus loop and vice versa. Wish they called it Sheppard for the Yonge line and Yonge North for the Sheppard line instead of Sheppard-Yonge, like how they did for the Bloor/Yonge cross where they had different station names for the line you were on
Excellent place, it has a lot of things, shopping mall, gym, dollarama, shoppers drug mart, as well as longos supermarket. It also has banks offices; TD and CIBC. Aa RBC and BMO just at the neighboring building. Also had a lot of restaurants like five guys, imperfect and pizza. On top of that TTC very convenient.
Warning: You will get lost. The station is pretty decent otherwise, but it is at the end of several bus routes and the schedules can be bad at some times of the day. Finding the proper exit is infuriating though. There are direct connections to shopping and this part of North York has a lot of businesses.
Horrendous signage that made finding the enterance to the busses extremely difficult, very easy to get lost in the station and a nightmare to deal with. I was lucky that my GPS could give me a rough idea where I was. Can't imagine how hard it is for other or even differently able people to navigate.
Pros: Its clean , lots of shop around like Wholes food,TD, TH, SB, Pizza's, malls, other banks. Connects to Line 4. Cons: They don't have elevator on avondale side of the entrance. Its very difficult when you have a baby. Its was a busy station (before pandemic). No washrooms at the station
Everything is so confusing. The route to get to buses, only Presto entrance at most entrances, to be able to enter using metro pass you need to exit and find the entrance that accepts passes every single thing about this station is very confusing and needs lot of improvement.
Living nearby the Subway is a Blessing & Things are improving constantly though slow. Inside the Subway station more "Working Public Phone" should be installed for emergency use. Another concern is students and others are wasting money if they don't have a Card in most gates.
Every time I have used this store I have had great service. There is a great lady there named Tensing that shows incredible patience sorting out problems and steering you to the best choices for both shipping and duplication. Highly recommended.
Very nice to place to commute one to another especially line 1 to line 4 . Also bus station we can catch go bus also from this place. For any information or details please talk to TTC advisor near by counter they will guide everything.
Its a subway! Theres a convenience store which is cool. It is a little confusing transitioning between line 1 and line 4, especially on weekends with the elevator access. Make sure to read the signs, and ask someone if you get lost!
Close to subway and bus station... Winners clothing Shoppers Drug Mart Second Cup and Longos grocery store... eye could always find time to shop at the Sheppard-Yonge center and they have a great food court as well...
There's a mall, the subway station shops inside and outside the vicinity like grocery shop , pharmacy, bakeries, food court, banks, convenient store, shopping place if your looking for some, there's salons etc.
I been here couple of times . Still get lost of some way connecting from Line 2 to 4. It quite a walk. This place is nice and clean. Not so crowded. I just wish there are more clearer sign.
Armed homeless people and ttc worker that's there is doing nothing letting the homeless guy block the entire and not let customers in the subway so they had to take a bus to next station
I like transferring at this station because this station Is easy and is fast trains tend to arrive not at the same time which makes it a lot easier to transfer especially at rush hour
This station is crazy. The only station where you have to get out of the subway, go down to the lower platform to then go up two levels to the ground floor to catch a bus. Gah.
Very uncomplicated station unlike others in the TTC network! Always come here when I have to Renew my Passport since the Passport Canada building is right up the street.
A major intersection and location with numerous amenities, landmarked by Sheppard-Yonge Centre, Hullmark Centre and surrounding business and office building.
Pretty good station but damn, the line 4 platform crowds up really easily and you can’t help but wish they used up all the unused space in the station.
It's an okay subway station but too bad only one side of the platform is used and the other side is just for parking an out of service train
A major station connecting Line 1 and 4 of TTC. Well maintained with multiple exits. Also connected to the P&G office and LCBO underground.
I'm just so disappointed . They need to fix the station soon because they are making everything presto like I'm not even using presto
Stuck in the truffic for ages on a replacement bus on Sunday afternoon. And I hear this is quite common. Very bad service
Clean station with Lines 1 and 4. It is the start/end of line 4. It is easy to transfer between the two with the signs.
The entrance and exit from the Hullmark Centre has an easy access between the street level and Sheppard- Yonge train.
Sheppard-Yonge The Line 4 Westbound Terminal Station. I Love The Art On the Walls. And Line 1 Love The Colour!!
They should extend the line to Sheppard West. The line is only useful if ur reaching don mills.
I was only at the subway station which didn't smell bad or have any crazy ppl cussing loudly
Hub station to connect to line 4 Sheppard line. Platform 1 eastbound is all the time in use.
This station is okay however during morning rush hour you cannot get a seat starting here
We do a photoshoot to here and the staff are so nice and station is very clean! …
Your regular busy intersection for a subway. Staff are still helpful, well organized.
Convenient and lots of things to do around it. Always too crowded though
Good station takes less than 20 min to go to don mills station.
I think it is very easy for me. I take it every day. Nice
Great place to go shopping in the area lots of merchants
Great way to commute. Easy access to line 1, and line 4.
Nice place, transportation hub and small shopping mall
Beautifful Modern Buildings, good access to everywhere
Subways came pretty fast and not too crowded.
Connects to Line 1 and Line 4. …
TTC Subway station for Line 1 And Line 4
Very cool good spot to see CN trains
