I enjoyed coming here for the TML game night. having lots of tvs to watch the game made it easy to see, etc. I would, however, suggest the tvs being connected via ethernet rather than wifi as connection issues occurred. The biggest downfall of the night was the delay getting food. We ordered Mac n Cheese and Fries, and it took over an hour to come out. Our waitress advised us that they only had three people in the kitchen on an extremely busy night due to the game. The waitress' were trying to be as attentive as possible but found they had issues as well. Our waitress happened to be working this chaos on her first day, and I felt bad that she was thrown to the sharks. I think the management needs to address staffing issues, and for how small the place is, they could utilize the patio torches to keep people warm. Utilizing the patio could have fixed the crowding issues inside. Last point, to pay was quite awkward. everyone in the restaurant had to line up at the entrance and organize their bill and pay. This system is super inefficient. I have never seen this done in a restaurant as they normally bring you a receipt and you pay at the table. This restaurant, in the end, has the greatest potential. It's in a great location downtown, and the food is good. I feel they were ill-prepared for a busy night like this. I hope they take the review and improve because I would look past this and come again, but if this is a norm, I probably wouldn't return.

I was on patio for live music. Food is pub grub. Fish and chips are generous portion. I had an appetizer of Buffalo wings, mild. Tasty but portion seemed a bit small for the price. Patio is COVID safe, but beware depending on who's playing live music. I saw Tom Savage with his daughter Bella and a drummer from his band. Crowd was most 30's with just a few Queen's students. May not be same crowd if a more trendy band attacking a younger crowd were to play there. Most of our COVID cases in Kingston have been traced back to Queen's students, so just be careful of who is playing there, the audience they will attract, and if the venue is outside on the patio or not. I would not be comfortable with live music inside there due to poor ventilation. Staff friendly and followed safe COVID protocols with masks and enforcing mask rules except when people were seated drinking or eating which is acceptable and within the health unit guidelines and provincial rules.

Ordered on skip tonight (our second time eating from here) and all we ordered was the blueberry salad and quesadilla. Well.... The salad was, get this-missing the lettuce. So as if this all kale salad wasn't already disappointing due to it being all wilted, they forgot the pecans and there was all of 6 blueberries and the smallest little pinch of feta cheese. And to top it off there were random bits of garbage in my salad: bacon, red pepper, tomato and grated cheese. The quesadilla was probably the saddest we've ever seen. When I contacted skip we got a 50% refund on the salad which is a problem all on its own because they should also take some accountability if they are promoting these food places on their app. Super unimpressed that I ordered something they literally just had to throw together in a container and they royally screwed up. Last time eating here.

'Underwhelming' would be my word of choice for my visit - went for wings & fries (it's a pub!) & they only had boneless bites that seemingly sat too long, were overcooked & barely had any sauce (we did ask for extra sauce which they brought) not to mention I ended up with the wrong sauce (ate it anyways but nonetheless). I know this place to have good food in past, may have just been an 'off night'. Friendly staff & comfortable atmosphere - the food was just lacking that night. Parking is also limited (or non-existent) but their main clientele are students who either bus or walk (and just based on location, limited parking is a known thing) so it makes sense.

I went there alone to get a quick bite after a long buisness trip. When I went in, I waited at the door to find out where I could sit. It wasn't that busy. I eventually asked the bartender if I could sit anywhere. I sat there a while the staff at the bar were doing stocking or cleaning or whatever they were doing and no wait staff to be seen for about 10 min. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind waiting if the staff are clearly busy with customers or I'm with other people, but when I'm looking at staff chatting or ignoring me that gets under my skin a little. Finally the bartender came over and handed me a menu to order. Food was prompt after that and quite tasty. They had local beers on tap and I chose the bartenders recommendation. I would go back if I was in the area

I recently was part of an event at The Mansion for a private event hosted by my roller derby team. We had rented out the basement, and had our own designated server/bartender Nicole. It was the best event we've had in my years playing! Our server was the perfect choice for us as she was attentive, friendly, efficient, and just the best addition to our already odd team! The arrangements were easy to make, the venue was exactly what we had hoped for, and the food and drinks were the standard fare the Mansion provides so well all the time. I wouldn't change a thing, and we'll be requesting both the venue, and our server specifically, again for future events!

What a welcoming and well-managed establishment! Although farther from the city centre, it is well worth the walk. You will find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere here. You can expect professional service and staff who are eager to do their work well. There appears to be camaraderie and mutual respect between the staff members and the management, which is an absolute necessity for any successful business. If you're fortunate enough to chat with Dave (one of the co-owners), you'll undoubtedly realize that he is a genuinely kind person who sincerely wants to do a good job and ensure his staff are treated as well as the guests. Happy staff make for a happy environment. Thank you, Dave and his staff for a wonderful evening that we will fondly remember. Your birthday twin had a (really) great time.

I had my birthday here last night and I had the absolute best time ever!! Our bartender Nicole went ABOVE and BEYOND for everything!!! From being such a vibe and being so so sweet and giving really good life advice, best drink recommendations and taking THE BEST photos of me and my friends - she made the night special! She kept me smiling and enjoying myself the whole night and took initiative to take photos and remind me to cut the cake because I was enjoying myself so much that I forgot! I don’t think we would have enjoyed the night as much without her!! If I do another party I would 100% come back here and specifically ask for her!!

Its dirty dark and dingy! The drinks were basic plus I found the place very expensive for such a "shyyiiiitttt" atmosphere especially when compared to so many places around here. The other places offer the same drinks and food but they also offer cleanliness, a fun yet romantic atmosphere, and overall good vibe. FOR FREE. Plus a really good party. This didn't have any of those it was so dark you couldn't see anything ..So my first impression, not very good. In my opinion. Also when I was there no one even notified me the kitchen was going to be closing in 45 mins , it wasn't busy at all. So when I asked about the menu again thats when he looked at me and said they just closed... the kitchen sorry.

Ate here today and unfortunately had a terrible experience all around. The waters we were given were not only in super dirty cups but the water had a terrible after taste (like sour iron). My friend and I both ordered a chicken ceaser salad and were unable to eat it after 2 small bites. The chicken was extremely dry. It looked and tasted like cardboard. However the worst part was the parmesan cheese and ceaser dressing. It left a taste in our mouth that made us both gag. It tasted like vomit and was sour. Cue to tonight and we are both extremely sick. Will not ever return here.

I've coming here weekly (or more) for 6+ years, COVID notwithstanding. Good spot to avoid Queen's undergrads for the most part, aside from Wednesday when the place is packed up for their famous karaoke. Beer is standard price, except their special "schooner of Moosehead" which is good value. Staff has always been friendly and excellent. They recently changed management, which has seen the place concentrate more on cocktails. Both the menu options and quality of food has also taken a significant dip. Great place for beers and to catch up with one person or in a group, but I'd say away from the food here.

Awful food and very expensive!!! Poor Service!!! I never come back to this place. Yesterday we were there to watch Argentine vs Brazil soccer game. We ordered a pitcher of cocktail and we got tons of ice with 6-7 drops of cocktail misrably floating in the ice pitcher. We asked for some napkins and the waiter handed us some crumpled dirty napkins which he took out from his pockets!!!! So gross, so expensive! If it wasn't for my friend I would left that awful place immediately. I know bars and cafes and restaurants had really hard time during this pandemic and I want to support them but I need respect and good service as well.

Visited This place with a group a friend and gave the gluten-free calamari a chance. It was an instant regret after the first bite as It was so fishy and tasted like frozen squid you can get from any groceries store. The size of squid is also underwhelming for $15. The service was slow as we sat there for almost 20 minutes before someone will come to take our Order (without water). The gentlemen who served us was nice enough. I would only come here for drink the next time but definitely never going to order food from their menu again. Other local pubs in town actually serve more decent food and drinks.

I’ve always really liked the mansion for good atmosphere and good food. Yesterday, there was only one server for the patio on a Saturday. She was very sweet but seemed frazzled and said it was only her second day- she should have had more support. Additionally, my partners burger bun had mold on it. We had to send it back after already waiting 45 min for food. After waiting again for them to remake burger, we found they still charged us for it. Very disappointing.

Bomb chicken parm!!!! The chicken was amazing! I ordered off skip and it was truly amazing! Nice portion (having left over for breakfast! Presentation was on point! The chicken is so tender even after putting in the fridge over night a microwaving for breakfast i can still cut the chicken with a plastic knife! Customer service was great when I called before placing my order. I have never recieved food from this place. Although after my friend posted a photo of this pasta I had to try! This pasta was better then many other restaurants that iv tried in recent weeks! 5 star!

I spent way to much time here this summer. Good vibes. Never overly crowed unless something special is going on. Have cheap breakfast, and reasonable dinner. Food arrives pretty quickly. They also have a nice long list of the beers they have on tap. Great atmosphere, and great outdoors section. They even have a bike repair station right outside. Lastly they have some great live music, you can keep coming back and listen to the same guy, and never get tired. Such talent.

Great place...Have seen numerous terrific live performances, many from bands/performers who I can't believe are playing this smallish, cozy venue. And always a coup when you discover a cool new act or some good local talent up close. Food is excellent, menu and specials always interesting...way underrated chow! Oh...and decent pints too. One more plus is the extensive music listings on their website. Nice to look ahead to my next Mansion live experience.

Oh man, where to start with this place. At times, the food can be exceptional. At times, the service can be exceptional. It seems to depend on who is cooking the food/who is serving at the time. Shoutout to the chef who cooks the bacon for brunch crispy and actually knows what an over medium poached egg is! Also shoutout to Dan for being and exceptional server! Totally worth it when the food and service are firing at the same time, other times, meh.

Had a great time at the Mansion tonight! Was there for a ticketed event. There were two waitresses for about 100 attendees and only a couple of bartenders but we never had to wait more than a few minutes. Same service with the food, which was delicious! Owner/manager of the bar was so fun and hospitable. Not from the area but would not hesitate to come to another event here again!

Food and drinks was good. Excellent tacos. We tried the shrimp and port tacos to great effect. Artichoke dip is the best in town so far. All was good until the bouncer laid his hands on my friend to wear mask... while he was outside smoking. It was very aggressive and wholly ruined the experience. Happy retained the tip and will not return while that bouncer is working there.

We had fun, food was decent, and they have a nice patio. One star because our server was unprofessional. We ordered many things including 2 nachos. However, they served us 3 and we said that’s fine, but they insisted to charge us for 4. We tried to dispute it, but he refused to adjust the receipts.

Great Place! Their Schooners are the best deal in Kingston In my opinion. Have been many times, usually try to go at least once a week. Servers are great and you can tell they want to make you feel at home. The live music is usually always decent. From the items I've had on their menu, I can't think of a time I have not had a good one. Their nachos are great.

Outside of the kinda friendly staff, this place is absolutely repugnant. The food is bland, tasteless sludge served without any personality or flare. The mixed drinks stank and were nothing special or interesting. I was somewhat excited to try this place but it's no good at all. There's far better places to get this kind of food on Princess St.

Went at 11 PM. Told to sit wherever we want, waited 15 minutes for the menu, being ignored for another 15 min and eventually leave without getting anything because nobody would come and take our order. Maybe next time I should bring a flashlight and megaphone to call for waitresses attention.

I will say the service was not good, I visited it today and it was pathetic! They made the restaurant too overcrowded but they forgot to serve food to people, i guess like we waited for an hour for them to juss serve the food! No one asked us that if we want beer again! I went there last night for our graduation party and the waiter working there ruined my night because of just a small dish of nachos. They served 3 nachos but charged us for 4. Even though we all told him he was making a mistake, he treated us like we were lying. By the way, he didn’t leave the receipt as proof. Very unprofessional!

Great spot. Good quality food and a large selection of beers and ciders. I've never had a problem finding space and when it's not too busy, it's possible to show up with large crowds. In the summer they have Kingston's best patio and a free volleyball court, and upstairs they have live music several nights a week.

Going as a DD driver. They refilled my pop before it was even empty. My food was so good, I had a basket of fries, then later had there classic burger with cheese and bacon. The burger was a medium. Just that perfect pink in the middle, with a side fry. ( yes im fat and had more fries with my burger and fries )

Saw Taylor Adams open for Charles Cleyn in the "Living Room". Both were great - the sound and atmosphere was like being in the living room.

Been here a couple of times now! Watched the Raptors win here and the crowd was amazing! The ambience is really good, and I recommend getting the IPA here, complementing that with their delicious fries. The staff is really sweet and kind. Overall one of the very good places to grab a drink in Kingston!

Fish and chips were not good. The beer batter to fish ratio was about 4 to 1. As a result the batter tasted undercooked and full of grease. The fries were pretty good but pretty small portion. Unfortunately won't be going back because ill be stuck in the washroom for the foreseeable future.

Popular watering hole with a pub style for the local downtown Kingstoners. Great atmosphere. Good service. Friendly staff and patrons. Not sure how often Dan Ackroyd visits but it's a worthwhile stop. This place would be a regular hangout for me if I lived in Kingston.

Would not recommend. Waited 20 minutes to find out they were out of the beer I ordered. Another in our party ordered coffee and after an hour and three requests, still no spoon to stir it. Best was the underwhelming food that took over an hour to finally appear.

Drinks are just drinks, prices are okay. Don’t order the food, absolutely inedible. Burgers were burnt, tacos were worse than something you could make at home. Fries are edible though.

Amazing staff, amazing regulars. Such a great place to hang out after work or have a dinner night. Absolutely beautiful patio and having three floors really allows for a variety of shows. But the staff are truly amazing. Extremely kind and personable people.

One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in kingston. Staff are super friendly, and super fun. Some of the best live bands from Kingston and beyond go there to play. They serve delicious food and an expansive drink menu. Check out The Hangover burger!

As a musician this has got to be the best bar in the area to play, as a patron it's one of the best to go to as well. Great beer deals, tasty food and always good live music on the second floor. If you are from out of town this is a must visit.

Stopped by for lunch with my wife today and we loved it. Great atmosphere and service! The food was excellent as usual and a nice selection of draft beer. The patio is great in the summer! A very nice intimate place to watch bands as well.

I saw Dear Rouge perform here and was absolutely in love with the venue. Amazing place if you're a fan of small shows. Beer on tap was also great. Great time overall. Posts in view of the stage made for some awkward angles at times.

Love the schooners here! Great place to watch hockey games. Food selection is nice and they have a tasty curry seasoning you can get on the fries. Their patio is big and has nice trees, great place to sit and sip beer in the summer.

OMG best fries for late night craving. Great local and travelling music in all genres, decent drink prices and a cool vibe. Comfy place to hang out with friends. Open late, too, so a perfect stop before going home after a night out

Great Uni hangout place.. The beer selection is great and a modest list of cocktails that covers essential mixes.. The food selection is quite impressive, well executed and generous.. Steak and Frites on special on Thursdays!!

Wonderful steak, and my partner had fish and chips that was really good too. Right now the weekday lunch special is half price on the entire menu! Really friendly, and quiet at mid-day on a Friday. Would go back any time.

The Mansion staff and atmosphere is extremely welcoming. A great place to have a few or a few to many tasty beverages at a reasonable price. Definitely enjoy imbibing a tasty pint and listening to some great local music.

Nice, casual atmosphere. Went there with my buddies who ordered a caesar while I enjoyed a non-alcoholic beer. We had a great time, although it was a bit noisy.

Service is pretty bad. Waited 40 minutes to get the bill. The food was not very good too. My fries were soggy and my fish tasted a little bit sweet.

The new vegan brunch menu is DIVINE. I absolutely recommend that you eat here, the staff are kind and the portion sizes are generous.
