"I can remember the hype as kid when the construction started at the Pavilion shopping centre"
"Horrendous experience at Pavilion shopping mall Westville, went to the upper level to use the Nedbank ATM at about 9:50pm and was suspiciously approached by two apparent security guards in a very threatening manner , 1 female with pavilion security uniform, the other male wearing an Orlando pirates jacket & black beanie and a pavilion security pants, I’m certain had intentions to rob me of my iPhone and cash from the ATM as they we’re watching me, started asking me irrelevant questions and motive was to get close to me to access my belongings but fortunately I avoided their confrontations, had escaped them & made my way down the escalator"
"A very popular and luxurious mall, with everything you wish for, all the top places, Can get very busy from the afternoon onwards so best to visit in the morning! Probably the nearest in terms of a mega mall to shop, dine, get those particular items in the departments , our local malls in the Durban area do not have! The restaurant area is a sight to experience and apart from a Macdonalds restaurant not in the mix here, all the popular places and those you can’t find in Durban are here! Going into a restroom, a light and marble tunnel today got going a bit crazy! Excellent facilities once inside and very clean! In general a mall with awesome decor, huge key departments but not a mall for the average! I find MUSGRAVE at home and my most favorite place!"
"A very busy center with lots of options can make for an interesting and exciting experience"
Conveniently situated off the main road en-route to Pinetown and Pietermaritzburg, PAV or The Pav as locals would refer to it is all about convenience. Constant change is part of deal here with recent upgrades to the food court, a fully fledged gym with heated pool, new international brand clothing stores with the likes of H&H, Krispy Kreme and Burger King makes this Mall a destination of choice for all things shopping. Parking is ample but with limited free parking options. Therein lies the cons. Pedestrian crossings from parking to Mall is unmanned and the general public that traverse those roads lack the courteous discipline or are just impatient and rude at most times. There also seems to be a lack of security in the parking lots in general. Often times one finds that the pay station is out of order and end up putting up with unruly staff. The PAV is quite a big mall so be prepared to walk if it’s specials you looking for as, the 2 main supermarkets are at opposite ends of the building. A favorite spot is the cinema which I stopped frequenting due to the bad condition of the seats and poor general up-keep. There’s no lack of stores in the mall although quite a few have downsized over the last few years. The food court situated near the cinemas could do with a few more seating options but overall not bad - I’ve seen worse (Liberty Mall in particular). Mr Price Sport should think about installing an elevator from inside the main building as, often I would like to pay them a visit but the thought of their location is off-putting. ToysRUs needs to be sanitised both human and actual pests. Manager with a bad attitude coupled with moronic staff members with really bad attitudes. Rather visit Checkers massive toy aisles - great variety and lower prices.
I can remember the hype as kid when the construction started at the Pavilion shopping centre. Rumours among the kids at school was that it would take you days to make your way through all the levels of the mall. When I visit the Mall it always brings back nostalgic childhood memories, right back in time when there used to be a Skate Park and Put-Put course on the cinema level. And the Cinema level resembled a scene out of ancient egypt with the murals and Sphinx. Now days having celebrated its 30years of existence recently it shines as a beacon of Pride and modernisation. But the Iconic copper roof domes will forever cement itself in everbodies memories. The mall caters for everybody, every store you can think of can be found on one of the levels. Food court as well layed out with a massive variety of food and it is right next to the cinemas and entertainment zone. The only down side is that you still very unsafe crossing the pedestrian crossing at the front entrance to the mall. The small speed bumps does nothing slow the cars downs. Apart from that, I will highly recommend the Pavilion Shopping Mall to anybody.
Horrendous experience at Pavilion shopping mall Westville, went to the upper level to use the Nedbank ATM at about 9:50pm and was suspiciously approached by two apparent security guards in a very threatening manner , 1 female with pavilion security uniform, the other male wearing an Orlando pirates jacket & black beanie and a pavilion security pants, I’m certain had intentions to rob me of my iPhone and cash from the ATM as they we’re watching me, started asking me irrelevant questions and motive was to get close to me to access my belongings but fortunately I avoided their confrontations, had escaped them & made my way down the escalator. Tried phoning & contacting the security desk or centre management, however it does not exist, patrons beware, pavilion shopping mall Westville is not safe.

A very busy center with lots of options can make for an interesting and exciting experience. Two things annoyed, though: 1. The pay station for parking was not working. One would think that these get the highest attention since they are such an integral part of the shopping experience. 2. We decided to get an asian inspired meal and, against our better judgment, found ourselves seated at MY Diner. What an unpleasant experience! I could go on about the specifics, but I'd rather suggest that the center established some quality assurance that would help the center's patrons make more informed decisions about the eateries at their facility. Some businesses need to be policed and My Diner is no exception.
Malls toilets atet 9:30am is absolutely filthy. There's no soap and toilet roll in the toilets. It's left in a dispicable condition. Malls escalators don't work on a very regular base and elders are left stranded trying to find their way. Half the time the boom gate machines for parking entrances don't work and we are then forced to park far away from desired shops. Parking machines refuse to accept coins such as R5. We have to draw money to then pay for parking. Exit boom gates also dont work as often as entrance ones. Not impressed for the amount we pay for parking and mall prices. Very poor service delivery for Pavilion It requires immediate attention.
I recently visited the Pavilion Mall and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The mall is very clean and well-maintained, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. The variety of stores and restaurants is excellent, and I was able to find everything I was looking for in one convenient location. The mall is also very spacious and easy to navigate, with plenty of seating areas to take a break and rest. The parking was also very convenient and well-organized. Overall, I would highly recommend the Pavilion Mall to anyone looking for a great shopping and dining experience.
Great place to shop. It has everything that you need, from clothes, household items, medication, groceries, green grocer, designer shops for high end shoppers, eateries, cinemas, no matter what you want, you will find it at The Pavillion Shopping Centre.l. Parking is for pay as well as free parking. Ablution facilities are always clean. Well secured, with security guards visible. Not too crowded as one would expect. Good shopping landmark for tourists as well. I will always recommend the Pavilion as it is a great place to be at.
Excellent mall to shop at. Convenient for me, as I live close by. It's been interesting watching this mall evolve over the year as I have been going here for over 15 years. The parking is secure and very safe. Each entrance has double boom gates for extra safety. There is also plenty of parking available during the peak season. I would recommend The Pavilion Shopping Centre to everyone as there are lots to do. The mall is spacious and neat with all major shopping outlet stores as well as food franchises.
Nice place to go shopping. Has every kind of store. Only fear is parking their and leaving out eg, games with trolley with TV in it. Guys following you out to car park my sister was almost victim and she tried looking for security, and found no one around and as she past her car they follow us and went back inside other side, they turned around and walked away, still couldn't find security. We went away after. So safety is not very good their.
Dear Pavilion. Why is it so hot in the mall? It's been months since the aircons have worked. Maybe you got away in the winter months, but it's ridiculous to shop here now. The staff in the stores are even complaining about how unbearable it is. Please do better! Your parking situation also needs improvement, there are too few exits. You need to cater for card payments at the pay stations. This is not the early 90s
Had lunch at the ocean basket. The service was great. Kind and friendly waiters with pleasant smiles on their faces..kept checking up on us . We had the platter for two. Great price with even great flavor. Afterward, I did some shopping at the Checkers. Had some good sales. Stopped at Krispy Kreme...yummy donuts. Went for bowling and games... had good time. Overall pavilion is a great mall to spend a day.
Boring. The architecture is beautiful but theres limited affordable eateries. Theres no panarottis...just high-end clothing shops....it's just boring all together. It's got a movie house n indoor games buts it's so very limited. Some sections have closed down stores. It's like a palace that was once entertaining but has now losts it's grandeur n marvel. The food court is so dimmly lit n gloomy
The Pavilion is a really good shopping centre and is the only one anywhere close to a lot of areas. It has a great variety of stores so it is truly one-stop shopping. I just wish they would put the air-conditioning on so that it doesn't get uncomfortably warm inside. Great all day parking for R10 and free for pensioners on Wednesdays. Worth a visit - go early!!
Always a issue with pay stations and boom gates not working, always traffic at the boom gates when they stop working, the pay stations always don’t take coins only notes, this mall needs to upgrade their systems to allow people to use cards to pay for parking, some tiles in the mall is loose and nobody bothers to check the maintenance really pathetic♂️
Still the place to be seen. Every single store you could possibly want catering to all your whims and fantasies. Fantastic entertainment complex and food court. Awesome Nu Metro cinema complex showing the latest movies. All under one roof. Might be one of the busiest mall's in KZN. And so close to access from the N2 or N3. Go on, spoil yourself!
This mall is always amazing, everything to offered, i still feel a little work needs to done with payment machines like Gateway where you can pay for cards, i also feel 0 to 1 hour should be free, even if you go in for 10 mins they charge you 10 rand, also a body of work needs to be done on security personnel and features please
My absolute favourite mall. Always an excellent shopping experience and has all the stores I need. I love that It is not too big to walk the entire mall flat. There is also just about everything to do for the whole family. Entertainment, food, shopping, groceries, markets, indoor and outdoor activities... you name it.
If you going to make us pay for parking why is the machines not working. Your staff are unfriendly and not helpful at all, especially with it becoming the festive season. Cars have been sitting to exit for 40 minutes to try leave the mall because you can't get a simple boom gate open
I used to like this mall when I was growing up. But, like so many places in South Africa, it's become completely run down and unpleasant as the, dare I say, for lack of a better word, "class" of most people who go there nowadays has really deteriorated.
Very large shopping center that caters for every need. Parking is secure and give easy access to the mall itself. Security personnel is visible and provide assurence. A wide range of restaurants available. A very pleasurable experience to shop here!
Good: Variety of stores. Parking always R10 regardless of duration. Bad: Cash only at parking - no card or zapper Ugly: Safety concerns (multiple armed robberies), incidents in parking lot. Very sad as this is my local mall - nervous to go now.
It's perfect for central shopping.nit has all the things one needs for home and outdoor use. There is a wide range of entertainment. It is close to Westvikle hospital, Westvikle prison and Westvikle university, Chestervikle too. So when
My favorite mall but the uber drivers have become an annoyance blocking the exits in the undercover car park. They stop anywhere to pick up passengers/ shoppers blocking you and causing unnecessary traffic especially near the exits. A
I really enjoy the eating outlets in the food court, I really don't mind going back to Cinnabon, Nu Metro Cinemas especially to watch movies in 4DX best cinema experience. I don't mind coming back. I'm happy to come back anytime.
Pava as Durban locals call it. This mall is a shopping marvel, forever developing to meet the growing customer needs. Great shopping experience, customer centric experience and a wide range of stores, pleasure, and huge parking.
It's a really beautiful place. There is a floor with many food stores, didn't know which one to choose but I'll definitely be going back to try Thai food Can't wait! Many places are good for taking beautiful pictures …
Lovely mall but always too busy. Otherwise it's cool but I try not to go because of too many people...unlessss I'm there opening time then it's 100%. Oh and then there's simply Asia and wicked who could resist? …
Safety needs improvement. Arcade machines need fixing. The guys that sell the phones by those stands in store are always a bother. Not the greatest experience going there. But the overall build and parking is good.
Backwards mall!! Get with the times please! Your parking pay machines only take cash. So people must go and withdraw to pay for parking which is ridiculous especially when you are in a hurry and don't have cash.
Pavilion is a nice, spacious and pleasant centre. There is enough and secure parking space. I recommend for all type of shopping as it reside all major stores. The centre is easily accessible from the highway.
Just big enough to find anything you need... yet small enough to walk through all shops and not spend Tooo much especially in the huge Mr price home and game And when you're done remember sushi at John Dorys
Nicely designed centre, inside and out. Convenient parking and easy access entrances. Good selection shop cover the basics to brand (grand) clothing stores and more. Nice food court next to the movies.
Okay, this place is Amazing! Everything you need in one place. Your one stop shop. Sportsgear, equipment, clothes shoes and the entertainment is chef's kiss! The wide selection of food is exceptional.
Mall is very big in size and having several grossery stores inside it. Pick n pay, game, checkers, all are available inside with large size. However there is huge parking space open and covered.
Usually a lovely visit. But the bathrooms were closed but no indication so you follow all the arrows only to be turned away after long winding stairs an elevator and a long stroll. Not pleasant.
Loving this mall and it's surrounding...good sense of safety...clean environment, fresh. Not that new, yet well maintained. Big enough to take a crowd and you won't feel squashed …
Love going here however the car wash guys hounding people is a HUGE NO! Putting aside the fact that they do a terrible job, do not have proper equipment for the job, it's really annoying!
Standing in a queue at Info desk because 1 staff on duty. The 2nd lady says she cannot sell vouchers . It's lunch break, peak season and 1 staff to help the patrons of the mall.
Virgin Active always enjoyable workout and clean facilities. John Dory has a pensioner special fish & chips R69 from 12;00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday really worth the meal.
That mall is like a maze from parking to the shops we got wet having to walk in an open space, it's built weird and a little bit off practical. It's an ok mall overall.
Wow Pavilion is great.. you have all the best restaurants in the food court and a great place for Kids as well... The Pavilion is big , walking around is an adventure
Great experience here no cap! I love shopping here when I'm in Durban. I copped my graduation tings, had a young dinner with moms. So much great memories here ❤️
This is just to say a big thank you to Niru Satar of the Cell C Pavilion store for really great service over the time of our contracts. Well done …
This is one of my to go to places whenever I want to have a great time with my son. He loves it there and all the amazing fun activities that comes with it.
Too big and a very confusing mall. The layout will have you running around the whole mall looking for what you need. Definitely one of the worst in KZN.
Large shopping mall with bad acoustics. Marble floors, stone pillars and loads of shops. The entertainment area on the lower floors is awesome
Best mall in Durban. Not too big not too small. Got everything But nice to have a restaurant that caters for more variety of vegetarian foods
Easy shopping acsses and Center court restaurant very helpful and friendly staff. Meals great and value for money. They are licensed as well
One of my favorite malls. Love the vibes here there's everything within the mall and lots too eat awesome fun area for the kids …
Nice mall for shopping and has all that you need! Parking is R10 for the day, however if you are going for a few minutes it is a bit much.
Safe. Stores: spoil for choice. Food Hall: a variety to choose from. Parking: under cover /open spaces. One stop for all your gifts.
Great place. One of the best Malls/shopping centres for dates, fun outings such as bowling and games alike. Not to mention shopping.
I really had an amazing shopping experience. The mall has a unique vibe to it and it's really got a comprehensive range of stores.
Safe and neat premium shopping experience. Big compliments to this mall for keeping up the great environment for all these years.
Beautiful place, lots of shops. It's easy to spend the day there. Nice place for the kids and entertainment for the whole famili.
Great place to shop, very diverse set of things to buy, gets a little crowded sometimes but the free parking makes up for it!
Always a great place to visit. Plenty of parking - R10 wherever you park. Just about any shop you might possibly need!
Spacious, safe, everything you ever need, convenient, exciting, good parking, friendly shops, safe banks, good hours
Had a late working lunch at Mug and Bean. Fast and efficient service. Our server was friendly and accommodating.
It's an old Architectural structure. I keep on loving the view from Cator Manor to the Mall …
Great mall to shop...lots of different stores to suit everyone's needs. Good entertainment and food area
Beautiful Shopping Mall, The Architecture There Is Some Work Of Art It's Very Easy To Get Lost Too …
Loved it because it has a lot of different stores for everything but it would be nice if they added Zara
Huge mall so you Need to spend at least 3 hours or more to shop! Easy and ample parking space.
Good experience. Enjoy fixed pay parking. Well entertainment to keep you busy the whole day.
