The Urban Pet is a place with so much love, care and compassion, I just can't express it!. Dr Jill Burgess and her staff are so lovely and true in their devotion to caring for our pets and ultimately us. My little dog Madeline was in great need of care and they managed to get us in right away and made things happen very quickly. She was so complete in her examination that she found issues that have been bothering Madeline for a long time but were never confirmed or addressed by the other vets I had taken her to. I was told she was just that way when in reality she was in pain. I am over the moon grateful to Dr Burgess for her care and expertise in operating on and caring for my sweet dog in the gentlest of ways. Her kindness, and the sweetness of her staff went a long way for me at a time that my dog and I really needed some loving, positive help. Thank you so much for taking care of Madeline. Animal Hospital West Nashville has taken wonderful care of our cats for 5 years. The hospital is clean and welcoming. Dr. Burgess is kind, and funny, and has many years of experience. She knows the health changes that can happen, especially with senior pets, and she has the curiosity and patience to put together the information to come to a diagnosis. The staff; Rhonda and Marissa, are kind, empathetic, and great assets to the hospital, and they deal marvelously with my ill-tempered feline. They always make room on the schedule for a pet that is feeling really unwell. The hospital adapted (in my perception) seamlessly to Covid measures, as our cat became a frequent flyer at the hospital this year while we got her back to feeling excellent.

Dr. Burgess and the team at Animal Hospital of West Nashville are an incredible group of humans. My sweet greyhound became very sick, very quickly, and I had to make the unbearable decision to end his suffering. I considered an in-home vet but wanted it to take place outside of my apartment... since I still had to live there. Everyone at Animal Hospital of West Nashville was so kind, so gentle, and so loving with my precious boy... They even sent their condolences in the form of a beautiful red rose that was left at my doorstep. When the day comes for me to adopt another doggy, I will trust his or her care to Dr. Burgess and her staff. Thank you all so much for treating Copper like a member of your own family.

Very professional and courteous staff and Dr. Being new to the area and needing to find a vetinarian for our 2 dogs. One is a 70lb Brindle rescue with trust issues and the other is a 155lb large yellow lab service dog reject with trust issues. The Dr and staff recognized their issues and made it very comfortable for them and my wife and I. We are looking forward to taking the boys in for their spring checkups and coming home without all the stress issues we use to have with them when they would go to see the last Dr we had. We highly recommend this Vet.

New clients beware. Customer service is severely lacking. Condescending when you don’t know their processes because you are a new client, even when they have failed to explain the full information you need (also failed to inform about Covid practices, wrong dog name and wrong address on forms). Long wait times, long hold times. Vindictive- held access to a prescription when they knew my dog needed it and they could have easily helped her. They DID turn my record over to another vet in a timely manner. Pulling in and out of this location is a nightmare.

Animal Hospital of West Nashville offers personal, caring care to my dog and to me. Dr Burgess takes her time with us and I don't feel rushed or that she is distracted when talking with me about Hudson. I switched from a clinic that was impersonal and my dog saw a different doctor every time he went. No one knew us personally and I didn't feel that my dog was getting the best care. And they were way over-priced. Very hectic and always running behind. If you like personal care for your pet, this is where I would go. Melissa M.

I truly cannot say enough about Dr. Burgess and Animal Hospital of West Nashville. They've gone out of their way - quite literally - to care for our kitten, who we found abandoned outside. They made time for us to come in the day before a holiday when we finally managed to capture the kitten. 2 weeks later the kitten became ill, and Dr. Burgess came in on her day off to treat him. I'm so glad to have our pets cared for here by Dr. Burgess. They have my strongest recommendation.

All 3 of my dogs have loved Dr Burgess. We had to put one of ours to sleep and when I say they were so sweet and caring throughout the whole sickness and passing. They even sent flowers. Had to switch vets bc of a move but we are back now. We are treated like family and they know us and love our dogs. You couldn't ask for a better vet.

Moved recently from New York and wanted to get a check-up for my cat. Was told that it would cost upwards of 400$ to even get in the door. I asked my friend who recommended the places months ago and was told its services have gone downhill since we talked and to try another place. Leave while you still can!!!

A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Burgess when one of the cats I adopted gave birth to kittens. If it weren't for her and her team, they wouldn't be alive as the poor kitties were dealing with parasites. She also gave me very helpful advice. Thanks to her all of the cats are now healthy and happy. :)

Called to make a vet appointment for my dog, and the lady said they didn’t have anything opened. Sat on the phone 5mins and asked about another day, obviously Thursday is the only day I have off. Will not be going here ever. Then asked if I needed help with anything else, no dude. Won’t be going here.

Dr. Burgess and the staff are wonderful. They took excellent care of my Sadie during her dental cleaning, and explained everything thoroughly. Other animal hospitals in the area charge exorbitant fees for this service, and the cost was very affordable. I highly recommend them.

I called about getting my mini dachshunds glands done and was told they wouldn’t do it because I’m not a client. Huh? This is AFTER I told them her regular vet temporarily closed their offices. I guess they won’t be Bai’s new vet since apparently, that’s not an option.

Gracie went to Shelley today for her grooming. She looks great as always! She consistently does an awesome job with my 2 girls without having to sedate them. Shelley is friendly & professional. I always know they are on good hands with her!

The best Veteranary care I've ever received in Nashville. Dr. Burgess is amazing and knowledgeable. The staff is hands down warm, friendly, and genuinely seem to care. If you want a trustworthy Vet then you have found it.

My pet got all the help it needed. It was not that expensive. All the staff was kind and friendly. They have kind cats in the wating lobby. I will always come here know matter how far away it is.
