I am implore anyone who is in a desperate situation or worse low income like myself. PLEASE for your pet's sake look for a place that will actually help you and your pet. Much like the human health care system the pet care system is very broken and many of these places especially VCA which seems to be everywhere near me, only seem to care about money and not life. I want to clarify my experience wasn't a poor one if that alone affected my review I'd probably give it a 4 or even 5 star review. The staff was kind and treatment of my cat was adequate. No, It's how overpriced the cost is for a visit that is seen as same day or next day. See i understand that was my choice out of desperation i choose this place and i take full responsibility. My gripe lies mainly in the fact that at the end of it i was exactly where i started, an ill cat with no treatment. At least when you go to an emergency room and the cost is going to be absurd. You know you'll be leaving having gotten SOME KIND OF TREATMENT. Instead i feel like scare tactics were used into convincing me to not get her treatment that as i was told it was considered extremely risky. I was also offered medication and when i asked questions. I kid you not when i say that the vet said "I don't know" and gave me one of these ‍♂️ as options and risks were being discussed. It's truly infuriating because at the end they suggested i put down my cat. I left completely broken thinking that i would have to put down my cat, after having put down my other cat of 17 years. Only this cat i have is much younger and just didn't feel right. So i refused to give up so i reached out to friends and family. I was connected with a low profit assistance hospital and what happened next shocked me. Not only did they tell me they wouldn't charge me for many things but they would have done what VCA for a fraction of the amount i spent. They told me that amount could have covered multiple visits with the same level of treatment such as exams, lab works, follow ups, medication and more expensive treatments i payed at VCA. I believe the most angering part of it all was how i experienced the same exact kind of treatment. Except when my cat was treated for the same issue i was told about. They understood the risk but the doctor was something different. They knew the risks but made me feel so confident in their ability that i didn't hesitate. Not 10 minutes later walks in with that same confidence telling me everything went well. Now my cat is recovering and instead of planning for the end of her life, i am hopeful for her future. So if you care about your pet don't let your desperation get the best of you, look somewhere else.

VCA Urgent care hospital in my opinion is the best in Los Angeles. Most professional work attitude I have experience in their field. I had called 6 or 7 different emergency dog and cat hospital within the Los Angeles corridor. None of them gave me the time or courtesy I had thought I would receive. I felt like I was passed from one hospital to another, due to the volume of emergency every one was experiencing. Felt like my dog Lola was not going to get the care she needed. She had been attacked by cats and got her back injured . Having a 3" inch round of hair & skin clawed from her back. It happened 2 days ago so the injury got infected. Knowing that was bad I needed to have her see a vet asap. Holiday weekends are notorious for any hospital to experience the same volume. I knew it would be a frustrating challenge to find one I can visit. But a friend suggested to try the VCA Hospital / MarVista . Fairly new establishment, she had said. She also found out through reading their info.. on the net and all the customer feedbacks it had received were all 5 stars . My friend was right, with her assessment. The hospital was swamped and could not take us . But the vet assistant helping me on the phone was such a professional! Didn't just past me to another # I could try to get us in for examination. She listened and proceeded to go out of her way to have us be seen. Ask me crucial and critical questions about the injury, so she can past it to the doctors attention. Ultimately having the doctors making the important call on the severity of the injury and who should be seen first. That had made me confident with my choice on where my Lola will be treated. They will give a courteous, professional and their heartfelt attention to your emergency. I was still not successful with Lola getting examined on that day. But I had a great chance to get and reserve a examination the next day. Which would be a Sunday, called 9 am to their virtual appointment room and was placed on a 1 pm appointment. Lola was treated with more than just having her injury looked at but also everything else she might have needed and didn't have the opportunity to get in the past. Service in my opinion was the best I had experienced felt human didn't have me feel like a # just being the next one in line...

This place exists solely to maximize profit. I could never recommend using their services - literally, if there is any other option available, please do your pet the favor and go elsewhere. Our dog lacerated her leg. We called and listened to the recording which told us to add our name to the virtual waitlist so that we can wait at home and arrive when "it's time to come in and see the doctor." We came when they told us to and proceeded to wait over 2 more hours to be seen. As soon as the doctor came in she told us that for a laceration like our dog had, there is a "golden 4-hour window" during which time you want to close the wound. Well, thanks to the abysmal operations at VCA Animal Hospitals Urgent Care - Mar Vista we blew right through this 4-hour window under the impression we would be seen much sooner. This took away our chances to see another doctor that could have rendered aide sooner. From there, all they wanted to do was upcharge us on procedures that the doctor even admitted were not necessary - specifically a blood test that was quoted around $200 that the doctor said a young dog did not need. If our dog didn't need it then why ask its owners who are not veterinarians to buy it? Thankfully the actual procedure went well. But, when it was time to pick up our dog the same thing happened as when we arrived. We were told to arrive at 5:30 and didn't even see our dog until after 6:00pm. A few weeks later I called back to ask if they could write a script for flea and tick meds, since our old VCA vet told us they could, and guess what, nope - they won't do that because they can't make any money doing it. The solution? Go to another vet, spend more money...you get the idea. This place is the worst. Do not take your pet there.

Over the weekend my dog got really sick and couldn’t stand up by Sunday. She was listless and lethargic, couldn’t stand up on her own - not eating. Scary stuff. I called dozens of emergency vets and non-emergency vets, and could not find anyone to take her in, or they had an 8-10 hour wait in person which sounded awful for her state. I did an online consult with a vet who told me she felt Lola was very sick and needed attention right away but could likely wait until Monday since she wasn’t vomiting or anything like that. Shortly after the consultation I found this urgent care facility thanks to google maps, and though they couldn’t take her either (it was 7:21pm), they told me to log in at 9am and get in the virtual waiting room so that they could see her the next morning. I logged in at 8:59am, the system was already open, and by 10:45am we arrived to a very welcoming Robbie. Not too long of a wait later we met Taylor, the vet’s assistant, and then Dr Kitchen. Everyone was compassionate, communicative, and very friendly. This place just opened 7 weeks ago and I’m just thrilled to know it exists 7 days a week in case of urgent needing appointments in the future. After not sleeping for two days they put us at ease, and thankfully my little girl is so far doing much better. From the virtual waiting room to the texts while we waited for labs, to follow up emails, everything was so helpful. It made it very easy to forward to her regular vet. Thank you so much! I hope we won’t be back, because that would mean we have another urgency, but I’m so grateful to know we have a place to go now if we need it!

I have no idea how so many folks had 5-star experiences at this place. If this is their idea of "urgent" care, then they seriously have it backwards. Our experience was more like "maybe-see-a-doctor-today-if-you're-lucky" care. Despite the "virtual waiting room" we waited about 2 1/2 hours to be moved to an exam room, then another 30 minutes to see a doctor. Then, they took our cat to the back room explaining that they would be gone for, quote, "20 minutes". An hour later, they emerged. When I expressed that I didn't think it was fair that, for our cat's sake, we had to wait as long as we did while she continued to wheeze and cough, the Office Manager (supposedly, the person in charge of patient relations and customer service) gave me a VERY annoyed and snippity answer about how "so many pets came in today with just a limp and it turned out to be cancer, and how could we turn them away, and we had to deal with them" etc etc. I am sympathetic to any pet owner going through a surprise diagnosis (I have a 95-lb. golden retriever and three rescued cats) but keeping people waiting for up to five hours with no communication, and even providing flatly wrong information regarding time estimates, is not acceptable to me. Also, they seem very disorganized and under-staffed, so just be ready for that if you happen to go. When we finally saw the doctor, she was kind and knowledgable. If you enjoy spending five hours for a minimum standard of care and a very high price point, by all means, send your pets to the Mar Vista VCA "Urgent" Care. Otherwise I'll be going elsewhere next time.

This was the best VCA experience we've ever encountered, and we've been going to VCA for regular vet appointments for years. The virtual vet tech was so helpful to tell us she thought we should bring our pup in for medical attention, and the virtual waiting room was really nice. The time kept jumping up and down randomly so it definitely made it hard to plan around (wait time went from 7 hours to 4.5 hours to 7 hours to 39 minutes) but we weren't planning to leave the house anyway since our pup wasn't feeling well. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly woman who made us feel so comfortable. I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. After waiting a bit longer, we were taken back to see Gianna the vet tech who was unbelievably kind, friendly, and patient. She completely put us at ease during a stressful time when our dog wasn't feeling well. Dr. Robinson may be the best veterinarian I've ever worked with. She was knowledgable, she listened intently to our concerns, and gave us very clear and honest direction on what she thought was causing our pup to feel ill. Not once did she make it feel like she was price gouging us or trying expensive tests that wouldn't lead to anything. She was thorough and kind and I wish she was our regular veterinarian! Thank you SO much to the VCA Urgent Care team for making what could have been a negative experience a wholly positive one. I hope we don't have to go back but I'm at ease knowing what awaits us if we do!

I don't know how the system in this hospital works. There is a virtual waiting room which we thought is a smart idea, however, they are neither honest nor clear about the actual wait time. We first called and they said it's about 45 minute wait and once we receive a message that it's time to come in, we did what the message asked, replied with number 3. It ended up an hour wait, with no communication at all. After waiting that much in the waiting room, then we asked the person who checked us in, which was nice and polite, she said there are 8 pets ahead of your cat and we close in an hour, so it's another hour wait and you'll be the last to be seen. I don't understand how they find this an appropriate URGENT care system and I don't think that a 2 hour wait is worth the money that we were willing to pay to get our cat checked especially that we walked in under the impression that it's a 45 minute wait and we'll be notified when it's almost our cat's turn. No purpose at all was served with the virtual waiting room. I am upset and mad that we had to put our cat in a tough situation where he waited and was stressed the whole time then for nothing. I would never come back here.

Staff was friendly and facility was clean but they did not pay attention to detail. I should’ve gotten my first clue when they kept referring to our female dog as he, and this is AFTER they examined her. They then gave us a prescription to fill with a list of pharmacies. We called 3 that all said they didn’t fill pet prescriptions. We then went to Costco, and it being the weekend before Thanksgiving, it took us 25 minutes to get in the parking lot and find parking. My husband finally got in to the pharmacy only to find that the Dr had failed to sign the prescription so Costco could not fill it. I called VCA to see is they would please call Costco to give the okay but they didn’t call until after we finally left. I then noticed that the total pill count they listed was 8 instead of 60 so I had to call them AGAIN to ask that they call Costco again with the correct amount. With so many oversights it doesn’t give you a whole lot of confidence in their abilities. They said it was because they were swamped but it was not busy when we were there.

The virtual waiting room that I used to get my pet in was very efficient, kept me updated as often as I liked by responding to an assigned number to let me know where I was in the que by time (hour/minute). The wait wasn’t too bad bec they gave me 30min notice to say start your commute in towards the office. The office is beautiful and very mod, clean. The staff is beautifully polite, loving twds the animals and accommodating. Even the IT guy on staff was in house checking on everything to make sure it was running efficiently, kindly made sure he said hello to my fur babies and helped me look into the next ER for my babies infected ear who needed an audioscope to get down into his ear w/sedation. They are definitely on the right path for creating a positive experience for pet parents and the pets, focusing on a very patient-centric feel. Highly recommended facility.

I had an amazing visit today. At first I couldn’t do the online urgent care appointment but the vet tech through their chat was super helpful. I think it had to do with the fact that I was nervous. I was taking in a baby kitten with diarrhea and well you always worry about Pravo. Anyways everyone was awesome from the Vet tech to the doctor and especially Nicole. She noticed the handle on the box carrier I was using, was broken. Without hesitation and attention to customer care, replaced the box for me. That’s amazing customer service, in my opinion. I have been to my fair share of animal hospitals and urgent cares. The service at VCA was amazing and the prices were reasonable. This is the only reason why I decided it was fair to give them a review. So if you have a sick pet in need of care I encourage you visit to this urgent care. Lucky says thank you!

whoever the guy who is working 11/18 with black hair has got to be the most unprofessional dude ive ever experienced. I came in because it said 30 minutes before which i get can increase or decrease on the waitlist. Then this guy tells me when i check in itll be maybe one hour then 10 minutes later tells me we prob wont be seen today at all. fine so i leave then halfway through my drive home i get a text saying were ready to be seen and checked in. go figure whatever i let it go because i just want to figure out my dogs uti. we end up checking in and this dude has the audacity to be like well see him shortly. Waits another hour then checks in again and he says its actually going to be another two hours. This dude has no idea whats going on or at least set the expectations with me clearly instead of all these false negatives. we ended up leaving

I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was at this Urgent Care. From the virtual waiting room to discharge process, it was all shockingly efficient. The moment I walked in to door I was met by a kind and smiling Care Coordinator, Nicole. Her positive energy made me feel instantly welcome and at ease. The compassionate, thorough and cost conscientious care exhibited by all the staff here (Dr. Kim, Nicole, Sariah) made my attitude shift from fearful and guarded, to trusting and faithful. Dr. Kim is a very competent Doctor. Not only is he knowledgeable and realistic; he explains everything in a clear, calm manner. My baby boy is doing just fine; thank god. But if he wasn’t, I would have no problem taking him back here. Thank you guys so much! I’m sad you aren’t in Phoenix!

  • Abram Hodgens

They refuse to disclose prices for any services other than their $140 consultation - there is nothing visibly wrong with my dog and it needs tests done but they insisted for me to first pay $140 so they could then tell me how much it would cost to do tests. Never using the VCA again. It's super obvious that they only have their profits in mind and not my nor my pet's wellbeing. It doesn't have to be a win/lose situation, it can be win/win. Just tell me how much you charge for services instead of wasting my time and money over an urgent issue. Don't take advantage of those who are vulnerable. One star given because the girl on the phone was at least sympathetic and polite but she said her hands were tied due to management's policy.

recently moved to LA and our pup came down with an upset stomach with vomiting and diarrhea… i didn’t realize how hard it would be to get seen by ANY vet / ER. I called at least 40 places begging someone to take Bear in and ER wait times were over 6+ hours. Thankfully through my calls someone recommended VCA urgent care and I couldn’t be more grateful! The virtual waiting room is incredible and allows you to wait at home vs in the lobby for hours. We logged in at 9a for the waiting room appointments and got in right at 10a when they opened SAME DAY! Everyone was so thoughtful, kind, and compassionate with our little Bear. 10/10 experience - would recommend to any pet parent in need of an asap vet visit :) THANK YOU!

  • Alexa Rouchon

I’ve gotta say. This was the best vet experience I had. I was on a waitlist for a few hours then they texted me to come in. I waited an additional hour/hour and half but that’s okay. The lobby was clean, they offered coffee and water , the staff .. the staff was AMAZING. I’ve never interacted with such honest, caring, price transparent vets before. The visit was $139, plus the stuff I needed for my dogs eye. It wasn’t outrageous at all. Even one day with these drops, my dog is already feeling better. The staff truly makes u feel so heard and listened to. I wasn’t even defeated by the cost at the end bc I felt like I got such quality care during a scary time

  • kendell adams

We had a wonderful experience today at the VCA Urgent Care. The virtual waiting room was very efficient and helped cut down the wait time in person which was very nice. Robbie was so kind and empathetic and kept offering us coffee/tea which was so appreciated. The facilities were beautiful and very modern/clean. Taylor was so sweet and helpful. Dr. Kitchen was very knowledgeable, kind, and detailed. Everyone was very transparent about costs, tried to keep them low for us, and outsourced us to another hospital when they felt it necessary. We are so grateful for such a warm and professional team taking care of our Miku! Thank you all!!!

  • Caroline Jaynes

This was a great experience. I have a very reactive, aggressive dog who broke his nail. When I walked in there were two other dogs and the person checking me in sweetly suggested a private room since he was getting aggressive. If anybody reading has a reactive/aggressive dog they know how stressful the vet can be for you and your pup. Everyone was so compassionate and they even gave him a complimentary nail clipping that he desperately needed and did not ever make me feel guilty about how long they had gotten. They made a great experience out of what is usually an extremely stressful experience. 10/10

  • Lindsay Howard

The staff and vets were so sweet. They were very gentle with my cat and helped identify the problem right away. They even reached out to me after a few days to check in on her. The whole experience was great and I would highly recommend them if you ever need an urgent care for your pet. The only thing was their wait time was way overestimated, so I was not prepared for the text to come in (they said it would be 4 hours but it was like 30 min). Not necessarily a downside since I got in and out quicker, but something to note if you join the online queue and plan on doing something in that time.

  • Barbara McCarren

I really like this place - the fact they text you when it's your appointment time, and give you an entire room so you and your pet feel calm. You see the Dr.. The techs are charming. The prices are expected but worth it. Too pricey for the meds. I've had many animals for many years, and I know. That said, you need it then, you pay whatever they ask. Going to advise Costco members to phone Costco to see if they carry the same med & have it in stock. By CA law, the vet needs to give the script to fill if you like. I can't fault them otherwise. Wonderful, competent people and super convenient.

  • Alex Buckland

The staff at this Urgent Care are so kind and welcoming. We used the virtual waiting room which worked very well for our extremely anxious cat that hates lobbies. We got a text to come in and immediately they had an exam room ready for him to be more relaxed in. They were very transparent about costs and recommended doing things step by step as to not accrue too many unneeded expenses. Dr Kim was very friendly and clear about explaining everything that was going on with my cat. Hopefully I won't have to be back soon, but if something comes up I would definitely go back.

  • Cigal Shaham

This is an urgent care for pets. It is designed to handle things that can not wait until the next vet appointment (since VCA gets have a 2+ weeks wait right now), but is also not serious enough for the vet ER. They only do in house labs, no send outs, so they have limited tests that can be run. You sign up in a virtual waiting room online, then come in when they tell you to, but don't forget to respond with the number 2 to the text saying to come in, or the person at the entrance can't check you in. The vet today was super nice & took good care of my kitten.

  • Will Schwarz

Easily the best vet, and especially urgent care, visit we've had with our 8 yr old pup. The whole process here was super easy and comfortable: virtual waitlist and check-in, free wifi in the waiting and exam rooms, water and coffee. Karina, our concierge assistant, was really attentive and took diligent notes as I described what the situation was. Dr. MacKenzie was really helpful and explained everything clearly and made me feel very comfortable. While I hope to never need urgent care again I know exactly where I'm going if I do.

  • A.J. raulynaitis

We had to walkout after hearing how Dr. Robinson talked about us and other pets.we were in the exam room and could hear her complaints for us and our dog. She emphasized how they couldn’t take care of our dogs nausea because they were closing in two hours and they’re not a hospital. Keep in mind we waited for 4 hours already. After walking out we took our dog to another vca facility and they didn’t understand why she could be seen at urgent care. We were out of there in two hours. If you come here don’t use Dr. Robinson.

  • Ferrin Ruiz

Had a great experience! The virtual wait room makes it so much more convenient. The waiting room and check in process was quick, easy and clean. The tech, Ashley, was kind and patient and thorough. Dr Mackenzie was fantastic. Really listened to us and took her time examining and figuring out what was wrong with our dog. I didn’t feel like they were doing any unnecessary tests. We hope to not need urgent care again but will absolutely use them in the future if needed and will recommend them highly!

  • Evelyn Choudhary

Visited here on Easter with our poor dog with paw injuries. The online wait process was relatively easy. Our dog was in so much pain and anxious it took three of us to get him out of the car but the staff was respectful and patient and very helpful to help me get him out in a safe way. The entire staff was very communicative and made both my dog and myself very comfortable. It was pricey but you get what you pay for-excellent emergency service. If my pup ever has another emergency we will be back

  • Carey Hirschman

First always put your name online to hold your place in line and get updates via text. I went here after I couldn’t be seen at my local vet. Great service, the visit price was slightly more vs the vet. Yet here, the treatments were cheaper vs my vet, and I could get in ASAP and they spent over 1.5 hours in the room back and forth with my pup. I’m so glad I came and even my issuance covered 90%. And best of all my pup is healing well from her allergic reaction

  • Nicole Alm

Despite my pup being in pain, the experience I had in the new VCA urgent care was top notch. The technology with the virtual waiting room allowed me to stay at home while in the queue. When my visit was ready- I was notified via text to head on over & the check-in was seamless. The environment is very calm, quiet, and pleasing (not hospital-like). And of course the most important part: the care I received from all of the staff was the best. Thanks VCA.

  • Kat Kaplan (Kat)

I LOVE this place. I have a lot of pets and have gone to VCA WEST LA for years. But with pet ownership up so high it has been so hard to get non emergency appointments quickly. This urgent care fills a HUGE need in our community, and is way more affordable. Also the staff are sooooo wonderful. I always end up chatting with Nicole and Robbie and all the staff, and they are just the kindest and best customer support. I will be back, I'm a regular.

  • Jordyn Watson

My dog hurt his paw and we were able to get in and have it treated the same day I noticed the wound. The staff is very friendly and are happy to help and answer questions. The lobby was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of space so your pets won’t be right next to another one. Just remember this is an urgent care, not an emergency room so the wait time is longer. I joined the virtual line at around 11:30am and was finished around 3:30pm.

  • Brittney Hock

I brought my dog here today because I thought he possibly swallowed a AAA battery. They took X-rays and examined him and said "Yep, we found a battery in his stomach, get him to the ER immediately". So $650 later, I rushed him to the VCA ER on Sepulveda where they looked at the X-rays and practically laughed because there was nothing there! How incompetent! Of course I had to pay another $250 for the second doctor as well. Do not go here!

  • Jeff Kleinman

First time at the VCA Urgent Care in Mar Vista yesterday....I was very impressed with the new facility, which is modern and clean. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. I also appreciated that they were up-front about the cost of the care my dog received. I liked the virtual waiting room - reduced my time waiting in-person. This is a great addition to the neighborhood, don't hesitate to bring your pet here!!

  • Donna

This hospital is great. Much thanks to them for taking care of my Koda’s skin issue today and itching and severe hot spots .Couldn’t get into any local vet on a Sunday morning and he was crying and going nuts. I got right in here within a couple hours thru their virtual waiting room..The docs and office staff are lovely and reasonably priced for an ER.Thank u so much and will be using y’all again soon I’m sure! highly recommended.

  • Eddie Salavati

This clinic might look nice and fancy but the Vets and staff are incompetent. Their knowledge of medication therapy is almost zero and assistants are literally high school kids. They can't handle one single simple paw infection of a cat and they call themselves urgent care. They won't help at l all with submitting any claim to let insurance. AVOID THIS PET HOSPITAL! Take the life of your furry friends to other professional hands.

  • Michelle Keller

I can't recommend VCA Urgent Care-Mar Vista more highly. The staff are warm, friendly, and compassionate. I love the use of the virtual waiting room, it keeps everyone comfortable and updated. We took our kitty in for an urgent concern and the vet was so compassionate and kind. She wasn't rushed and took her time in explaining our options. We liked her so much we're hoping she can be our regular vet. Overall A+++ experience.

  • Carmen Kelly

Brought my puppy here when I thought she was sick. Staff was very helpful and supportive - felt very well taken care of. My only comment is this - they should really consider move the weight scale to the front room/lobby like all other vets. It makes the weighing process a lot easier and faster. Seems like this layout of having it in the back sort of slows down visits. Just my two cents. Thank you for all of your help!

  • Rachel Magaña

The entire team was so lovely. I was dog-sitting and had to get the dog’s cast changed. They did a great job of it and also loved on my mom’s doggo, totally spoiling her with attention. I liked that I was texted about when to leave the house so I didn’t have to spend hours in the waiting room. It was super difficult to find any vet that would accept a new patient and on short notice; I’m so glad I found this VCA.

  • Felicia Miller

They charge like crazy. Amazon sells the same stuff with only half the price. $20 dollar could have solved the problem but VCA charged me $400. They also keep asking me if I can pay the bill IMMEDIATELY just because I asked for the detailed invoice. They even texted me to rush me to pay. I need to contact the pet insurance company at first and deal with bills, ok? They love money more than anything.

  • Amanda Michelle Foschia

Can pre register online and walk in same day. They text you when to come in which made the wait short and see less. Clean atmosphere and friendly staff. My pup broke her nail off and was put into a cast. The have her medicine for pain and inflammation. Was able to get in and out in about a hour. I had a question and was able to text and get a speedy response on suggestion what to do. Highly Recommend

  • Maeve McCoy

I had an urgent issue with my pet and was so relieved to have her seen without spending hours sitting in a waiting room. I joined the wait list at 8:55 am this morning and monitored when I was able to be seen. Once our name came up and we drove there, we only waited about 10-15 minutes. My other option would have entailed a 2-4 hour long wait. FYI there is parking in the back for customers.

  • Jessica Turner

The system of booking here is very helpful so that you’re not waiting all day in a waiting room and the vibe when you get there is so much calmer because of it. The staff are excellent. Kind, communicative, helpful but also understanding of your wants and needs. I appreciate the staff here and their efforts with what I’m sure is a lot of stressed/upset customers with sick pets.

  • nancy nina hwang

We all know what it means to love our dogs, and so, what it means when you are in the hands of others who you can trust love your animals just as much. I’m happy to shout from the rooftops how comforted I felt while being here. The whole staff, especially Brandon, greeted us with nothing but compassionate and professional care and support. Highly reco the wonderful team here!

Over the past several days I’ve been to the VCA ER 3x. After still feeling uncomfortable with my pets illness I went to VCA urgent care in Mar Vista. I finally feel like I have a game plan to help my dog thanks to Brandon and the team there. A special shout out to Brandon for loving on my stinky sick pup while also taking care of me. It means a lot it times of crisis.

  • Catherine “Cathy” Lee

Yes, the cost is high, but this is URGENT care!!! I couldn't get my limping cat in an actual vet's office for weeks! I'm low income as well, but I'll pay anything to get my baby taken care of ASAP. Great staff and facility. All healthcare is ridiculously expensive, but pets are family and maybe you should consider investing in pet insurance.

  • Tony Kul

Horrible experience. Waited 3 hours for text. After I got text and showed up had to wait another 5 hours to be seen. Tech wrote wrong weight for dog (20lbs vs 10lbs) so all medication dog got was overdosed. Charged me over $800 and my dog died few days after (possibly because of overdose but can’t verify for sure). Never going back.

  • Lina Shahinyan

Best vet/urgent care experience we’ve had for our doggo. The facility is very nice and clean, lots of privacy, all of the staff was very welcoming and caring and the vet was very comprehensive and knowledgeable. Extremely quick and efficient operation with the virtual waiting room from our home. Highly recommended this place.

  • Andrew Upchurch

Absolute garbage. My dog who just got viciously attacked had to wait hours and hours to be seen. AVOID!!!!! Avoid all VCA if you can. They’re a private equity shell of a company. Not even integrated with your phone number. They are a syndicated network of vets shops that just put the VCA name on their storefront. ‍♂️ …

  • Diana Roque

The entire experience from start to finish was great! All supporting staff were super communicative, transparent, and kind. The virtual waiting room is helpful and vastly reduced my wait time. Plus, they gave me a pretty accurate estimate of the total cost. If my pets ever need urgent care again, I will definitely return.

  • Rosey Waters

I’ve been struggling to get in to see my usual vet for my cat, and so I was so relieved to find VCA Urgent Care. It’s way better to wait at home until needed. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable and when I returned a few weeks later remembered me and my cat! Very impressed and totally worth it.

  • Kim Lee

Forget any other place! I appreciate VCA Mar Vista so much. This place is amazing the whole staff is on point. I brought my cat in twice and doctor Breanna Goodman was so helpful and kind. Also, Diana Martinez was so nice and patience. She explained everything to me. Highly highly recommend this place.

  • Criz Anne

They have an online system which is great. I wish some human urgent cares have this... Looking at you Kaiser. But you would get on the virtual line then they'll just message you to come when it's nearly your time to go. Efficient. Super clean, I like this branch a lot.

  • Ross Regen

Incredible service, lovely staff, highly intelligent techs and doctor. We came in feeling uneasy/scared about our dog’s constant vomiting and left feeling confident and calm in how we needed to address his illness. Clean offices, easy virtual queue and free coffee!

  • Marianna Jimenez

Amazing place! Took my foster kittens. I was close to a panic attack from worry, but their kindness and compassion calmed me down. I feel relieved to know the people here truly care about animals and their well-being. Thank you for being there for my cat babies.

  • Kiara Cruz

This place is super expensive, and their system is supposed to make it so you can go in a timely manner but I ended up waiting 45+ minutes both times I went in. The tech staff is nice but just overall I’m paying too much and still deal with the same stuff.

  • Christi Hille

The entire staff from checking in to check out were so helpful and kind. You’re never at the emergency vet for a fun reason but they took care of our puppy and got us in and out as quickly as possible. Thankful for the whole team ❤️.

  • Annie Collins

Thank you very much for the absolutely amazing customer service! From the sign in attendant, concierge, technicians and doctor. All super kind and attentive to our Lola. We are so happy with the complete experience! Thank you all!!

  • Cheryl B. Lynch

Being able to wait from home in the virtual waiting room knowing we wouldn’t lose our place in line was so comforting. Once we arrived, the team was amazing and took great care of Bandit - look at his bandage …

  • Amanda Der Bedrosian

Great experience. My dog had a minor puncture on her paw and they were very sweet to both me and my dog. The place is pretty new, but gorg inside with a large waiting area too. Great vets and staff.

  • rylee doyle

Very great experience. Wait time was a bit longer then expected but overall they took care of my fur baby and that’s all that matters. Would come back again. Def make an online appt before coming !

  • Michael Mccalister

The receptionist was friendly and caring, and the doctors did an excellent job on my cat Jack, who was injured in a cat fight.. I was so concerned, and the staff put me at ease.. Thank you …

  • Megan Casper

They have a very misleading check-in system. I was already at another Emergency Vet when I was text that it was my time to come in. When I got there I still had to wait three hours.

  • Elizabeth Tighe

Kind, respectful and compassionate care. Wonderful staff. Thank you for helping me with one of the most difficult decisions of my life. I appreciated your kindness so very much.

  • Ellie Hakimianpour

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE compare to other places. The prices they charge for medications are outrageous!! $700 charge for office visit and meds. My first and last time going there.

  • Micropause LLC

Everything was totally top-notch next level. Excellent service excellent doctors, lovely staff, efficient, clean truly the most wonderful experience. Cannot recommend enough.

  • Jenny Burman

So friendly and kind. They waitlist phone texting service is so helpful. Karina and Dr. Goodman were patient and capable and recommended a treatment to help my fur baby.

  • David Black

Great friendly and caring staff. I thought the services that they provided were better than the veterinarian that I’ve been going to for the last 30 years

  • Kimberly Vasquez

They are really nice and help your pet get better . only thing it that it takes some time for you to be seen .They are awesome and not expensive.

  • Mari Mar “Mari” De La Torre Reynoso

Just a wonderful place made me feel better at a horrible time with my baby girl. Great Dr. Walton I thank God for her health . …

  • Edna Sandoval

Thank you for taking the best care of my baby. And also thank you for listening to all my concerns and give me a solution.

  • Iggy Gallard

Make an appointment online before you go in! They have a virtual waiting room that will save you so much time.

  • Antonio jimenez

Great customer service. Parking is in back by the alley. Clean and welcoming to both pet owners and patients.

  • deedee barrie

Male receptionist with dark curly hair was extremely rude. VCA is great but avoid this location if you can.

  • Alli Taylor

Everyone at VCA is kind, caring and make sure as the parent I have a plan for my pet to get back to health!

  • Major Meredith_81

Employees were very kind to me and my little toy poodle. Would definitely recommend them again …

This place is great! I’m so thankful to have it in my neighborhood.everyone there is awesome
