We've moved both from Vancouver to Victoria, and then from Victoria back to Vancouver within the last year and have used Dave and team both times. Would highly recommend Van City Moving for any job, but particularly for moves to the island that can be more stressful than your typical same-city move. From start to finish the experience was hands-down the best I've experienced with movers. Starting with Dave coming to do an onsite walkthrough and talk through the logistics of the move: assessing the amount needing to be moved; recommending specialty boxes for items like TVs or wardrobe boxes etc... (many of which they are able to provide at cost if you don't have them); to working out parking needs for the day of the move. On the move day itself, Jason and the crew communicated clearly prior to their arrival, showed up on time and got to work right away. Even though we had already wrapped our furniture in moving blankets, they added extra blankets to ensure everything was additionally protected, and used their own wardrobe boxes for any smaller items. Both load and unload took just under 3 hours each (for a 2bd condo with everything fully packed and ready to move). After having moved twice in one year I'm hoping to not go through the process again for quite awhile, but when we do move again I'll definitely be reaching out to Van City Moving.

David and his team have helped me move now 4 times. Every move goes smoothly, every mover is polite and I’m always so happy with the service. This will be our last move for many years as we have bought a place. The old place and the new townhouse both had complex entries! Stairs, small doorways, tricky parking etc, but David handled both as always like the pro he is! He put on a couple of extra guys to ensure it went well and was efficient. We had an extra complication post move as we didn’t end up moving our washer dryer on the day. He offered to come back in the future to help us move it if we didn’t sell it. We didn’t, and so on VERY short notice, days before our move out inspection they moved it over for us. Honestly I’ve never been more impressed with a moving company and in an industry FULL of issues, it’s nice to know who the reliable movers are! I’d never use anyone else and while we don’t plan to move anytime forwhile they are always the company I’ll recommend to others! Can’t go wrong with David and his team at Vancity Moving!!

They were pleasant and unobtrusive while executing a seemingly impossible feat others had failed: the attempted relocation of my very oversized tobacco leather sofa to its new home. But these guys did it! My sofa guietly maneuvered like an olympic diver doing a somersault over the railings of the second floor spiral staircase landing to the landing just above the first floor. The sofa landed vertically in graceful silence on one arm and one side. I almost expected it to fly away on one of the Persian carpets. It was delivered to its new home safe and sound. It was a miracle, managed with effortless finesse and professionalism by two unassuming, good-humoured men, one of whom was wearing hyper-stylish black converse sneakers. I saw the reviews for Van City Moving were stellar so I contacted David. He came by the next day for a quote and details. I had a half load so was accommodated a lower rate sharing with another potential move. On packing day 2 team members showed up on time and meticulously and carefully packaged up the items in drop cloths etc and loaded up quickly. On arrival to my new apartment two team members were professional in uncovering all items and placing them in the required rooms. Jason, Derrick, and Sean were fantastic and timely. The price was very fair for the service David and Van City Moving provide. They want to insure that the customer is happy, period. They truly understand the meaning of customer service. I have already recommended Van City to several friends who will be moving between Vancouver and the Island and vice versa in the near future. With great gratitude to David for making the experience of a major move seamless and stress free.

This review is long overdue. We moved from the Lower Mainland to the Island last year and couldn't have been happier with the service. This is not our first long distance move/experience with movers so can confidently say that this company is miles above what we have experienced before - price was fair, service was exceptional and David's ability to estimate space/weight is remarkable (it's like he has a computer in his head). It was also evident that David was a good employer and valued the work his team did and was obviously respected in return (something not often seen these days). I wouldn't hesitate in the least to recommend Van City - some of the guys may appear a little "motley crew" but don't let that deter you - they were great; super professional and respectful of our family, our home and furniture.

From the time I approached David, to the moment my delivery was done, there was not a single occasion when he missed my call. His repeated reassurances came a godsend to me when I was a bit worried about how I would be able to take my belongings from Vancouver to Victoria. David was among the few movers who visited my place, took an honest assessment of my situation, and gave me a good quote. He repeatedly told me that he would deliver my order even if it were the only order to him during the April-end period. The delivery executives, Jason, Soheil, and Dave were very professional and helpful as well. I wish everyone all the best, and hope David’s business grows and flourishes in the future.

David came to our home, looked at our stuff, and promptly had a fair quote back to us. He explained the whole process to us, including the fact that the price quoted was firm. He provided large picture boxes, wardrobes, and extra packing boxes. His crew was friendly and professional. The truck arrived the following morning (we moved from Pitt Meadows to Parksville) and the unloading crew was just as efficient. Everything arrived in good shape, nothing was damaged or broken. They also gave me a great deal because they were already making a trip to the okanagan! A great company to work with! Recently donated a truck and a friendly, well experienced mover to help us move donated furniture from our house to a recently arrived Refugee Family in the Lower Mainland. Truck and driver arrived on time when expected. The driver/mover was very quick and efficient assessing what needed to be done, then getting a timely job done well. Thank you! Great job! We'll done! Dave was very attentive to details and tried everything in his power to meet our expectations and needs. He is just such a pleasant person to work with and very professional. A refugee family moving to their new house yesterday was able to have [donated] furniture which they needed because Dave made sure the truck was available and even drove it himself to the new house past working hours.
