Your better off going to HEB, Sams, or any other Walgreens location. NOT ALL WALGREENS ARE BAD. Stay away from this location (Manchaca’s location) and especially if you are in pain!!!! because I bought in 2 prescriptions from my dentist after being in the dental chair for nearly 5 hours with my jaw open and numbed up. I would think that someone working in the medical field like a pharmacist would understand about patient suffering after a procedure had been done. It was hard to talk to her because my entire right jaw was numbed up and I was tired from the procedure because it took all morning to be done. The pharmacist was Kristen G. She told me that I had to go to another pharmacy to fill the second prescription from my dentist. Her excuse was “we do not accept a printed script from the doctor. It has to be handwritten.” I wonder why can she not call the dentist and ask instead of making the poor, suffering patient go back and forth? Isn’t that her job as a customer service representative for Walgreen and a licensed medical profession? I took whatever prescription she filled for me and left the store and was forced to find another pharmacy to fill the second one while I’m in pain from the numbing medicine wearing off. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN after this experience. I did take my prescription to another location and they had no problem filling it, regardless if the dentist printed the script or handwritten it, thank you , HEB. You understand a patient’s needs. I contacted Walgreen customer relation and the manger of Walgreens. She thinks I’m stupid and I do not know about how horrible she treated me. I do not know what I have done but she sound racist.

Almost everything of ones need may be found here. Upon arriving at Walgreens, I always see the parking lot is free of trash, and the two outside trash bins in the front of the store are not over flowing. Staff is consistent on greeting you as you enter the establishment, when you are checking out, and upon you leaving. The inside of the store is as clean as expected with the amount of traffic they pull daily. Walgreens offer photo service, pharmacy service, and general store service. I recently did an online photo transaction, and it was super simple to do, and picking it up was hassle free! I get packages delivered there, and staff has always been polite and professional. Walgreens ONLY accept packages from FedEx for customers. The entire photo crew is awesome! Pharmacy is great as well. There is a manufacture that I refuse to take a certain pill from and the pharmacist was very kind about contacting another carrier to get the accepted pill for me. When they have a clearance, it's always an actual clearance(prices are good). Almost a one stop shop!

I can't remember a time I've come here and they've had my prescription ready. Today's experience exceeded my expectations. HEB didn't have my wife's drug in stock so I transfered her script over to Walgreens. When I called to request the transfer it was clear she worked at some remote location... She didn't know the number to the HEB across the street. No biggie I'll google the HEB pharmacy number for her. I called back an hour before I arrived to let them know I was coming. I wasn't surprised when they told me they knew nothing about the transfer. No biggie, I'll get them the info again. I called one more time to check to see if it's ready. Nope, no biggie, they said they would work on it. So I arrive hand them my wife's driver license and mine, I get the scripts, AND they gave me my sister-in-laws medicine instead! Lol, no biggie I'll just sit in the drive through for 15 mins while I wait and drive over to my brother's house... It will give me time to write a review.

Don't even bother to stop here. HEB is right next door. Night staff and managers should have customer service training or be replaced. Husband has an ear infections and needed sudafed. Walk right in and asked for the sudafed. Cashier said which isle to go to so I went. I couldnt find any boxes on the shelf so I brought up the strong sudafed. Mind you, I completely understand why only a pharmacist can sell the strong stuff. Brought the card to the cashier and told him this was all I found. His comment... I don't know what you want me to do with that... Yeah I don't know.... So I asked to speak with a manager. Again all I need is the over the counter stuff. Manager then comes up and said that's against the law for us to sell that. Even before I can ask if they have the over the counter stuff. I just turned around and walked out. No use talking to someone who has no intention of helping me.

I've come here 3 times for my HPV vaccine and I still have not gotten it. First time, I was told it was medically unnecessary for me to get my second and thrd shot since I passed the age of 27. But my doctor insisted me to get it so I called the pharmacy and the person on the phone was questioning who told me it was unnecessary. I just wanted to get it over with so I didn't explain much. When I tried scheduling the second shot and I was told I can walk in. The next day I went as soon as they open. The pharmacist said they all booked for the day I have to have an appointment when there were literally no customers. And then when I got online to make an appointment, there were lots of slots left for the day throughout the whole morning (I thought you said it was all booked for today?). How ridiculous!!!! How long does it take to give me a shot ?? 30secs or 3 decades.

The reason for 3 stars has nothing to do with management or employees within the store. It is upper management's decision to close the pharmacy at 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. This is incredibly inconvenient to us in the area. Which is a middle income area but they find it reasonable to keep the one in Circle C open because Lord knows we can't inconvenience those people. I find this move discriminatory. Along with fact that they are putting a CPL at this location when there is one a mile away. Which I think is ridiculous. As I watch at least a dozen people leave because the pharmacy was closed I wonder what this will do for their bottom line? I am also wondering after trading there for 13 years is it time to move my prescriptions to HEB or somewhere else.

I love Walgreens but the problem is so does everyone (& sick-o's, like me), we need that drive through. I like the convenience, as does everyone else, so it's almost always busy & has'a long wait. The employees make up for it wit positive attitudes, attentiveness & politeness, as an good Texan demands! The lines/waits are avoidable if you get there early or get lucky, pre-after-work-rush. Also, they have giant pet-wipes for when your foster black cat gets into your flour bin! Hahaha!! And a modest but good selection of flea meds, de-wormers, food, toys & treats, treats, treats! Its'a quiet shopping experience, worth the only slightly higher price per item, wit a vast selection of toiletries, meds, food, trinkets, baby items& girly stuffs too!

  • Jacqueline Barron (Jacks)

Always good service and I love challenging the coupon and Walgreens rewards to see how much I've saved and how much reward money gets each time. Then around Christmas or bday I got it up to $400 3 yrs ago, didn't hardly spend any cash as I had that and a few more apps that allows me to earn points and get gift cards. I haven't been able to get that lucky w Walgreens again, but still it racks up to a generous amount of u save it until it's absolutely necessary to dip into. Especially if u have a million kids (I have a family of 9 including me & a husband (now an exhusband). It's silly but I get some kinda satisfying feeling when I save. Lol. U have to know how to be a problem solver, strategize, organize, and be patient for sure

i’ve gone to this location constantly and never really had a bad experience but as i was walking in, a homeless man peeked his head into the store too. this woman, who i’m assuming is a manager started yelling at him screaming for him to get out because “its 2pm”. i’ve met this homeless man many times and he’s very kind. he was not being hostile, he was talking softly and she screamed at him. i don’t know what the backstory is but that was a very poor situation to walk into and it made her look very bad in my eyes at least. while i was heading towards an aisle, she started laughing about him to another worker as if her yelling at him was funny and as if she was proud of it. very disappointing behavior. :(

I don't know what's going on with Walgreens, first they stopped taking certain insurances and it gets worse, especially this location ,there store is always in disorganized and there staff is rude and it seems like whenever you ask for something it's a inconvenience ..2 registers open but I had to stay in line after being turned away because the register didn't have the equipment to remove the anti theft device ,so after waiting in line patiently, they didn't even have the right Bluetooth speaker (the one on sale with you Walgreens card) complete b/s and a waste of time .I'll drive 2 miles the opposite direction and take myself to CVS!

I wish zero stars was an option. The staff/pharmacists at this Walgreens location are absolutely the worst customer service folks I’ve ever dealt with. Rules regarding online refills change depending on who is working and the public is somehow supposed to know this. They don’t count pills accurately but, of course, never accept responsibility for it. They change the doctor’s quantity (mine was changed from 90 to 30) without permission. One med was changed from 90 to 14. No logic at all. With a myriad of customer service issues, why add the hassle of getting in and out of a place where your business isn’t appreciated?

  • Edna Obregon

The main guys for the pharmacy lead is awful, and could careless about anyone but himself. Made me drive out to Escarpment to do my refills because he didn’t want to do it himself. He would only do it until the next day, but hey I’ll tell my damn migraine to wait two more day for the prescriptions because your refusing to do your job. This guy needs to be replaced ASAP & some of the new hires are poorly trained and that because of this guy too. Horrible customer service! Now I have to wait another hour for my prescriptions to be filled.

  • Cecilia Lugo

Worst customer experience! I stopped by to buy some things and decided to go to the rest room. The rest room had a sign closed due to cleaning. I was about to pee on myself so I decided to wait. I got noticed by two representatives that I was waiting by the restroom waiting for them to be cleaned. However they did not acknowledge me. I waited for 20 MINUTES. And then finally one of the girls says it’s closed due to the COVID19. First of all put a different sign, saying that the RESTROOM CLOSED, not closed due to cleaning!!!

We have been using this pharmacy for decades - since it first opened it's doors. Today I waited 20 min in line at the drive thru for my husband's meds. I asked for a decongestant product that is kept in the pharmacy, 3 feet away from the tech. She told me I had to come in and get it - even after I told her I have flu. I put on a mask and headed in to the pharmacy. When I saw 6 people in line, I left. What kind of service is this? 20 min wait in the drive thru, had to go in for something 3 feet from the tech and when I am sick,.

  • Ashley Bee

It’s a good Walgreens, way better than most. Employees are pleasant and helpful, pharmacy staff goes above and beyond which is rare for a Walgreens. They’ve had some issues with their coolers this summer but it seems to be fixed now. Staff was super attentive with making sure the drinks I purchased when the coolers were out were safe to consume without refrigeration. Selection on drinks is still bouncing back from that as of August 2023 but it’ll probably be back to normal soon.

  • Ace Ramone

It used to be great here, especially the 24 hour pharmacy. Now on Sat and Sun they close at 6pm?!!? The location at Slaughter and Manchaca is murder to get out of.... so going to the pharmacy was needed in off hours. After over 20 years of getting my medications filled here, this won't work for me anymore. The new HEB opens March 27, 2020. I will be transferring all of my prescriptions there as soon as they open. Goodbye Walgreens.

  • TCS

PSA: Do NOT use this Walgreens for FedEx package drop off. They either lose them or they just sit there for days and are not getting picked up. Had to go back two days after I dropped off a package and "rescue" it and get it back because the Walgreens employees aren't capable of making sure packages get on the FedEx truck when they pick-up daily. They simply do not care. Ridiculous. I hope FedEx removes this OnSite service here.

  • Natalia Gutierrez

This Walgreens it’s always packed. My 4 yr needed to use the restroom and close (no sign) asked for code to stuff member (my sick child needed to use the restroom) they say no!! mind you I was waiting on pharmacy to get her meds ready. Pharmacy said that they just got the order at 9 pm when we was at emergency room at 5 o clock ⏰ very slow stuff at all times they’re very nice but not efficient

  • Madra Mays

Justin the pharmacist is racist, refused to fill my prescription because I asked him a logical question. The tech needs to learn her job, and I will not go there again. This is the reason I stopped using Walgreens years ago. Inadequate service, the only reason I went in this time is because of there hours, had to go in on a Saturday after a visit to a minor emergency late Saturday evening

  • Jonathan Selfridge

Best chain pharmacy in Austin. Not only are they open later than cvs they aren't rude to you when you call. They were very helpful after getting my prescription transferred to them on a Sunday after 6pm. It's kinda sad that there isn't a single cvs Pharmacy open after 6 in a city of over 1000000 people. Love this Walgreens for helping me out in my time of need. Never going to CVS again.

  • A. B. Colbert

The Walgreens pharmacy at Manchaca and Slaughter has got to be the worst and slowest pharmacy in Austin, or maybe even in Texas, and possibly the worst in the United States. They have two lanes yet only utilize one. Most of the staff is friendly but there are a few who make that experience of picking up your meds the worst experience as a shopper. Do better, Walgreens.

  • Inez Cavallaro

Was looking for a specific Halloween decoration and frustratingly Walgreens chose to use a single SKU for what could be any of three characters. I called several stores and reached Mia at the Slaughter and Menchaca location. She was super helpful and fast and thorough. She’s an asset to this location and her attitude and work ethic were amazing!

  • Alexandra Wood

Understaffed and will take it out on customers. Asked for passport photos and staff member went off about how they don't have enough staff and she won't help me and doesn't know when management will hire enough people to be open again. I understand places are understaffed but she spoke to us as if we had control over staffing.

  • Dave Bartholome

Been using this pharmacy for a couple of years. Only a couple of minor issues. Mostly solid. (Incidentally, another reviewer said the pharmacy didn't have enough staff to deal with the volume of customers. I don't know if that's true, but I would advise people to avoid peak hours if you don't like waiting.)

  • Sean Christian

I just watched a great CSR named Nathan ask another employee named Josh for help while handling a complicated transaction in front of me. The phone was ringing for a good minute before Josh showed up and put Nathan down in front of the people he was serving, me, and the woman behind me. Justice for Nathan.

  • Matthew McCoy

I usually utilize the drive thru via Rx pickup. There are times the line of cars back up into parking lot due to being busy. I've been going there for some time now and know the best hours throughout the day, usually.... No, I'm not going to devolge that info.... I'd be back a square 1. Enjoy!

  • Laura Skowronski Nattam

Nice corner store open 24 hours if you need anything.. but.. Why should it take 1.5 hours to get a simple prescription filled? There were more than one person other than myself who left the store today after over an hour wait, and one lady stormed out announcing she was switching pharmacies.

  • Emily Tanaka

One of the pharmacy techs, Justin, is the sweetest, kindest, most professional techs working there. I've been going here for years. He always remembers me and greets me with a smile. I'll never go any place else as long as he works here.

  • Elizabeth Munoz

I’ve been coming here off an on for years. Only out of necessity, never convenience. The pharmacy nearly always has a long wait. I don’t know if it’s an issue of staffing...but it has been like this for years.

  • Cassie Pigott

Walgreens is a great store. Great friendly employees. It's clean, organized, and fast check out. They have a lot of stuff. And the pharmacy is the best place to go to get your prescription filled

  • Wes Henderson

DO NOTE USE FOR FEDEX ONSITE! Gave away a valuable package to a person without proper identification or proof of purchase of my package. Had to file complaints with FedEx and a police report.

  • Erika Johnson

I primarily frequent this location to print photos, and they are always prompt and professional when I do. I have also gotten a flu shot here and it was really quick and easy to do

  • Marcia Eddy

Mail ordered a replacement kit for my glucometer. When I opened package it didn’t have a lancet or test strips . Useless to me. Never buying online from WALLGREENS again.

  • Ashley Graef

Jessica is the best pharmacist, always goes out of her way! All over employees are nice. My ONLY negative thing about this store is they are no longer a 24 hour Pharmacy

  • Callye Jamerson

I never have any trouble finding what I need and if it's not in stock they generally tell me when it will be and if it's a sale item they still do rain checks

  • Caroltech99

Always fast and friendly. Most often I find the personal and health items that I am looking for. Walgreens has a great selection of vitamins and supplements.

  • yaneth saldana

today I came here for take photos for my baby ... only one girl was very nice, but the other cashier was rude and she gave me the photos without cut them..

  • Christi Spencer

Love this store, but the pharmacy can sometimes be grossly understaffed. The staff can't adequately serve the number of people standing in line.

  • Ace Ramone

Employees are very nice but since they cut back on the pharmacy hours it has been a nightmare. It’s 4 right now I’m sitting in a line of 10 cars

  • Dawna Wright

Conveniently located, wide selection of OTC meds, hair colorants, and products for hair / makeup. Easy online scheduling of vaccinations.

  • dusty Austin

times listed for Walgreens at Manchaca are WRONG. People need to call their number to get the correct times--off by hours!

  • Jennifer Enriquez

I love this Walgreens the employees are always so welcoming and so nice I love coming here amd bringing them business. ❤️

  • Vietta Randel
