12/31/21 Friday between 9am and 10:45am. A friend, who is a navy vet and has slight depression, went i to the store to buy some personal items and when it came time to get rung up he began having problems with his apple pay. The lady cashier became very impatient with him, and in the process my friend became agitated with her as well. She wouldn’t allow another cashier to ring him up and help and called the manager over. The manager wasn’t patient either and insinuated he was yelling, when in reality he wasn’t. My friend called me at work to stop by the store and pay for his items since his Apple Pay was not working, but the staff there told me i wouldn’t be able to do that for him. The lady cashier from before refused to give me a basket and refused to ring me up when I went to get the items. As I was leaving I asked if I could get their names (staff names so I could file a complaint). The manager said his name was mike, but it was probably made up and the lady cashier just straight up refused. She said she wouldn’t give it to me because she was a women and didn’t have to. As I was leaving the so called manager told me it would be wise if I or my friend didn’t show our faces at that walgreens again. I told him I hadn’t don’t anything and had merely helped out my friend. Worst experience ever and hopefully people stop shopping at this particular location. The manager and lady cashier were absolutely childish and threw hissy fits. I will be looking at what I can do legally and I want an in person apology and public apology from the manager and lady cashier that were working that day.

I tried to transfer my prescriptions here from CVS and encountered roadblocks at every turn. I waited weeks for essential medications because the staff did not preform their basic jobs. They were supposed to fax my prescription to CVS to initiate the transfer and just never did it. They kept telling me that they'd called CVS, and that the folks at CVS just hadn't sent it over, but I called CVS and they told me that they'd gotten no call from Walgreens at all. The staff literally just lied to my face about having made the call. They actually did this a second time later, when I had an insurance hangup and needed them to call my provider for a prior authorization. They once again keep telling me that they've already called my doctor multiple times, but I have literally spoken to my doctor directly and been told that nobody from walgreens has ever reached out to her. Multiple people on staff at this pharmacy have attempted to straight-up gaslight me about having made calls or faxed prescriptions when they demonstrably haven't. I've used Walgreens as my pharmacy before and had no issues, but the people working at this particular location are incompetent, dishonest, and rude.

I’m leaving a one star review due to the fact that I feel that I can’t depend on the time in which it says that they are open. I needed to get into Walgreens and this is the closest one to me. And afterwords I needed to be somewhere at 8:30 AM. Arriving at 8 AM. I waited outside until 8:06 AM until somebody finally arrived. Then they made me wait until 8:14 AM and then finally open the door. No I’m not one to get upset about something like this. But when a company has a set time that they open and close Those times are there with reason. And I chose Walgreens’s as the place to go to because I’ve felt that they have been dependable and reliable company. However, with the experience I had at this store, I have to leave a review. Just to let people know that, if they’re ever in a hurry to be somewhere or early in the morning this is not the store to go to. I know how much time it would take for me to get from point a to B and I was relying on the 8 AM and due to the lack of responsibility of opening at 8 AM it put me in a spot where I was late. But what I needed inside of Walgreens with something that I couldn’t wait to get.

Updste: the pharmacy seems to have improved. I don't go there often any longer, but it's getting better. Been to this pharmacy more times than I can count over 4 years. I keep waiting for it to improve, and it's clearly not going to. They seem perpetually overwhelmed. Not sure if it's an issue with the quality of the people or if they just don't have enough of them. I can count the number of good transactions I've had with the pharmacy on one hand against the dozens that were not. The two closets Walgreen's on the East side are much better. The one in Cedar Mill is excellent. Fred Meyer is not bad either. I have tried over and over. The last trip I made there will be my last trip there. Hey Walgreens corporate (if you're reading), could you get somebody in there to figure out what the problem is? It seems to me that you need two different lines: one for drop-offs and one for picking up. There seems to be no end of problems with people picking up prescriptions as well, which isn't the pharmacy's fault. But not figuring out how to deal with it is their fault. The store overall is not bad. The Pharmacy can be a nightmare.

The people of the general store are kind and helpful. And this awful review is not directed toward anyone on the floor. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with my experiences at the pharmacy. If I'm being honest, I have never received worse service. Half the time when I go they are "at lunch" past the listed lunch hours, and once they reopen the pharmacy they loiter around for twenty minutes while people are in line. They are extremely inefficient, and take about ten minutes between each customer to do who-knows-what. The shortest time I have spent in line was 25 minutes. I was second in line. And when it is finally your turn, the people behind the desk are not usually friendly nor do they seem to be competent. I have not encountered a single one adept in customer service. Perhaps they are simply short staffed and stressed, and if that is the case, management needs to hire more people as soon as possible because they are losing customers fast.

This was a terrible pharmacy experience. The associate at the counter took literally half an hour to update my address and insurance information and get the prescription entered. That is, half an hour before waiting for the prescription to be filled. She asked if I wanted the whole 90 day supply of the medication and I said no, just one bottle. After all this, we were informed my insurance wouldn't cover it, so we decided to pay out of pocket, which was fine, but it was frustrating to learn this after she had worked with my insurance info for so long. In the end we paid and left, then discovered that we had been given, and had paid for the full prescription, not just the one bottle we had asked for. I can only assume she was new and don't blame the associate that was the problem, this was a terrible failing in training and/or a bad judgement call as to letting her work without assistance.

I went to fill a prescription for birth control and the pharmacy tech must have been confused on the name... she was extremely rude and on a judge mental tone told me that they didn’t sell that product before asking me if it was an emergency. At this point I realized she thought I was asking for Plan B or a Morning after pill. I was so turned off by how she was speaking to me that I left, then asked some friends who I knew used this pharmacy and they have all picked up the same birth control presctiption from this location dozens of times. I ended up coming back the next day and my prescription had been filled. Regardless of what kind of prescription someone is looking for her response was out of line. I switch my pharmacy’s promptly after this and haven’t experienced anything like her attitude. I’d suggest the safeway pharmacy down the street.

I have been going to this Walgreens for three years. I am so tired of the way the Pharmacy treats its customers, and its inability to keep track of prescriptions, that I am moving all of my prescriptions to another company. This is the second time in the last few months that Walgreens has lost a prescription. But instead of trying to fix the problem, let alone be apologetic, they have been snarky and rude. This behavior includes hanging up on me when I called to confirm that the prescription had actually been received. When I tried to get the pharmacist to explain any possible side effects for missing several doses of a lost prescription she was rude and uncaring. She honestly didn't care and had no intention of giving me any info on any possible side effects.

Absolutely ZERO stars for this burned out, trashy, sad excuse of a drug store. After waiting in line in the pharmacy to check on a prescription that was supposed to be ready but wasn't I was told by pharmacy tech I would HAVE to take my $50 in groceries up front to purchase. Never have I ever been told this before, especially considering I'd already waited 15 mins in this line with my basket. FIVE items would have taken her 2 minutes to ring up while she was standing right there in front of the register and no one was in line behind me. Wish I remembered her name, short little Asian girl, snippy, rude and apparently lazy. No one wants to do their job anymore, so they lost that $50 sale and any other penny I ever spend.

I go here for meds and quick supply needs and have done so for years. This Walgreens is reliable in this regards accept for the 2 robberies I’ve witnessed. Today though I give this store poor marks because I tried the online photo developing option for guaranteed pickup time. They were not ready. They cited “understaffed” as I then watched 3 staff who were just sitting around head to the photo counter to print the pictures. Clearly they had staff. The photos turned out blurry. I now remember that’s why I switched to developing photos at Target instead about 10ths ago. Clearly Walgreens has not updated their printers. So I was late to picking up my daughter at school, and now still have to go print photos elsewhere.

Great recent experience at Walgreen’s located on 2103 Burnside Street in Portland. On a Sunday, I arrived at the store to pick up an urgent prescription. A young employee, A. J., informed me that at that branch, the pharmacy is closed on Sundays. As I expressed concern about not being able to obtain the prescription, he informed me that the medication could be sent over to another local Walgreen’s pharmacy that was open on Sunday. He went the extra step to advise me about how to call in the medication transfer. He assisted me in accomplishing this. I am impressed by how helpful he was and appreciative of his competency. As result, I was able to obtain the prescription on time. I cannot thank A.J. enough.

  • Andrea Nummerdor

The pharmacy at this location is exceptionally horrific. Every time I’ve had to pick up a prescription here, there have been issues. Essentially the pharmacy staff just doesn’t fill anything until you are either there in person or call. For example, this morning I had a script called in around 8A.M. It is now 6P.M and I hadn’t heard anything. I call to check and see what’s going on and they tell me they can “have it ready in an hour”. This is a basic prescription - not a controlled substance or anything of the sort. And each time I need to pick up a prescription here, the story is the same. It seems as though this has been an ongoing issue for some time now so I’m not sure why it hasn’t been addressed.

  • Todd Lavoie

I'd probably give them four stars for their selection and for the friendliness of their cashiers, but there is a woman working in the pharmacy who is the least pleasant person I've interacted with in a customer-service situation in YEARS-- if it had only happened once, I'd cut some slack, but she was toxic and snippy with me on two separate visits, plus I saw her berate another customer for no reason during my last time there. I will continue to buy non-prescription items from them-- as I said, the cashiers are friendly-- but will probably get any future prescriptions filled elsewhere. She was absolutely horrible, and I hope to never see her ever, ever again.

  • Marie Fisher

While I don't discount the previous (low) ratings, this pharmacy may have focused on improving its customer service, as my experience was very positive. I made an online appointment for vaccinations and made sure that I had all of my documentation ready to go. Upon arriving at the pharmacy, I was greeted warmly and assisted immediately. The woman behind the counter got me set up with the required forms and paperwork, and advised me of how long the wait would be. The provider who administered the vaccines was very friendly and informative, and made sure that all of my questions were answered. Overall it was a very positive experience.

  • Kristi Voth

I find the Pharmacy Department staff courteous, knowledgable and helpful. The automatic refill program is very much appreciated. The only problem I've encountered is should the drug not be available, the Pharmacy does not call to let me know and I only find out by going to the Pharmacy only to be told I have to return on another day. This however is infrequent and I have been getting my prescriptions at Walgreens for many years. I have also had vaccines administered by the staff which has been totally painless. This is a very busy Pharmacy, serving many folks, always courteously no matter what.

  • Masumi M

I’ve never seen a store that has so many empty shelves/racks before. I am a regular customer and I usually enjoy shopping at Walgreens. It seems like they have a supply chain issue. Some products are left on the floor and some products are out of stock. The delivery boxes are still on a trolley cart/dolly that take space for walking. The employees don’t seem to care. The pharmacy at this store: They never follow up on my prescriptions I requested online. The good thing about this store is that some store staff/cashiers are friendly and being proactive.

  • Heather Larson

I am appalled at the lack of infection control measures in place at this location. There is no way to sanitize the baskets & there isn’t anyone there sanitizing them as people put the baskets back. There is no sanitizer to use at the check out. Employees taking customers to find certain products completely disregard the 6 ft distance recommendation. In addition, employees are still using people’s own bags & Walgreens is continuing to charge for bags. I expect more out of a place where people who are medically fragile & at risk are required to frequent.

  • Ozzie A

Update- I went in like every month to get my prescriptions and buy some things I went to the cosmetic aisle to grab some nail clippers, I noticed if they think someone is suspicious they will ring the “customer need assistance in the cosmetic aisle “ As in keep an eye on this person because they are a potential shoplifter. (I visit this Walgreens almost twice a month to fill prescriptions and buy things and been a customer since 2012, pharmacists are always nice specially Jeremy. Almost all the Cashiers are really nice as well.)

  • Gregory Propf

Quite possibly the worst drugstore on this planet and possibly in this galaxy, assuming there are alien species that have drug stores. The thing you will notice is that they've got a teenager at the register who can't ring up alcohol. Given that alcohol is about half of what they sell this is a mystery. The only efficient and competent checker is a short black dude. Everybody else lets a line wrap around the store. Sometimes you can check out quickly at the cosmetics counter or even the pharmacy though. Avoid this place.

  • Jordan Barbeau

The pharmacy is great, but that's the only good thing about this location now. They've put so many things in locked boxes or on locked hooks, including literally every tube of mascara. There are "press this button to have us come help you" things everywhere that appear to do absolutely nothing. Out of three buttons I pressed, only one actually called someone. It should not take 20 minutes to get mascara. I feel bad for the employees here having to run amok every time someone needs a locked item.

  • M H (TJ)

I can forgive the delay in purchase bc the power went out. But when I ordered online for curbside pickup and your store says that you have the items for pick up same day, then I expect that. If you don’t have the items then you should collect all the items and then notify me for pick up when you have all the items. Don’t tell me to come in for pick up when 14 out of the 33 items that I need are out of stock. I drove to the other side of town for this. No wonder Walgreens is going down hill..!

  • Craig G

I needed a prescription filled, with monthly refills prescribed by my Dr. for the next year. First they cancelled the initial order (without notifying me--I only knew because I went online to see when it would be ready and there was a note saying "unable to process, call the pharmacy"). After eventually getting through their nightmare of an automated system to speak with a pharmacist, they did fill it, but then cancelled the rest of my refills! Absolutely atrocious experience.

  • Gabriel Borsotto

The pharmacy at this location is consistently missing the ball on “called-in” prescriptions. At least four times I’ve had doctor’s offices after procedures call in medications only to arrive hours later and be told “it wasn’t written yet” and asked to wait 45 min to an hour. And if you leave and comeback, be mindful they all leave and close the pharmacy for lunch !! What is that about!??

  • Evan Stanton

Typical terrible service from the pharmacy at this location. Especially the woman who has slightly colored her hair. Acts clueless, clearly doesn’t care about customer mer service and when you provide information gets offended and very clearly doesn’t understand how to do her job. Will be transferring our prescriptions away from Walgreens and not returning. Avoid at all costs.

  • Katie Saechao

I ordered Holiday Cards (photos) to be printed for work. I submitted them at 9:00pm and walked over at 10:00pm. They weren't even started. The employee working behind the counter was obviously too busy on his phone or chit-chatting to process a simple order. I had to wait an additional 30 minutes, and they only gave me a measly 10% off my order. I will not be returning.

  • Orion Alexia

The management here are incredibly rude, I came in with an important pick up order with receipt, time stamp and confirmation number but the management claimed to not have received the order and told me they couldn’t help me even though the money already came out of my account. I am incredibly displeased by the customer service here and blatant daylight robbery.

  • Ari Seibert

I call in a lot of prescriptions for my job, and I do mean a lot. But today I had the pleasure of speaking to the rudest pharmacist by a long shot. If he wasn't so busy stuttering out his offhand remarks about my ability to call a prescription in, I might have actually had the chance to tell him I know how to do my job and I just needed him to do his.

  • Amanda 2000

The western union machine kept having an error the guy was rude and non helpful and told me my information must be wrong. I went to a different western union and used the same information and shockingly it worked. Your machine never works and stop being rude and unhelpful towards customers and at least look at the machine when someone asks a question.

  • don Fonta

As a physician, if I could give it a zero rating, I would. Trying to talk to the pharmacy is impossible. After waiting more than five minutes, I was disconnected. I am now still waiting for a response. Ater a second call was placed, they hung up . This place should be put out of business. It is a disgrace for any medical facility to be so poor.

  • Gregory Martin

Walgreens have a contract with care Oregon and you get to spend your OCT card there and they have a lot of good deals like vitamins 241 and they have a really good supply of stuffed animals and their employees are very nice and polite and they have some good lectronics there so you might want to check it out if you have the oct card thanks

  • Amy Greener

Cancelled my Covid booster appointment 20 min before the actual appointment. They told me to call back to reschedule the I waited 9 min on hold before hanging up. If your short staffed I get it but this is capitalism so perhaps address supply and demand by paying more. I really doubt the executives are hurting for money. Ridiculous

  • Wes Mahan

I've been in this store 40 or more times. The clerks are always friendly and helpful, even if the range of items stocked isn't as great as some of their bigger stores. Don't understand the one or two stars reviews here, except I think the residents of this neighborhood tend to be grumpier and more demanding than the average human.

  • Sebastian Branton

Quite possibly the most abysmal pharmacy I have ever stepped foot in. As a pharmacist myself I have used this location to fill Rx's that I had sent by my PCP. The technicians I have encountered have been extremely smug to elderly patients and operate at an incredibly slow rate for the tasks at hand. This place should shut down

  • Kathleen Anson

This store feels seedy - not what I want from a drug store. Maybe it's the fact that it's not as clean and well-lit as other Walgreen's, or maybe it's the numerous large signs reminding us that they won't sell sudafed to meth-heads? Or the fact that I always wind up waiting in line behind a homeless man? Not recommended!

  • ragemanchoo82

I only go here because its a few blocks from my apartment. The service is usually bad. 45 minutes to fill a simple common prescription. I'm not trying to get f**king elephant tranquilizer. Its a simple prescription I've had filled there a dozen times before. Btw I'm pretty sure Kate Jeddaloh's review is a shill.

  • James Dineen

Prescription dropped off a week ago. Unfilled as of today because there was an issue with the amount of the prescription. So why didn't they call? I have also been contacted in the past telling me my prescription is ready. Showed up and it wasn't. Better service all around at Fred Meyer right down the street.

  • Alison Anderson

Awful service!! My prescription is *never* done on time. For example, a prescription was called it at 2:30 pm, not ready when I went to pick it up at 5:00 pm. They told me it would be an hour. Still wasn't done at 8:00 pm. They told me they were still filling prescriptions from the day before... Yikes.

  • Justin Moreno

Called the pharmacy, waited over 20 minutes on hold with only one person ahead of me. Wtf? Long lines when I got there at 730pm and I was shorted 1 pill in each of my scripts. I get meds that I need my full dosage or will have a great amount of back pain if not taking the correct amount. Not happy.

  • Laura Chandler

Called to check on the staus of a script our hospital sent over and Isabel noticed the way we wrote the order would have been costly to the patient. We were able to rewrite the script correctly to ensure the patient could recieve their medicine. Excellent and compassionate service. Thank you

  • Paris Waddill

Worst customer service ever. Out of town and needed contact lens solution. Walked up at 11:58pm with a customer at the register, only to be told they were already closed and her "crew needs to go home." I said I just need contact solution, and she just kept repeating herself. Terrible.

  • Peg Burn

The staff have gotten to know me, which is great, since I purchase extremely large quantities of Cereve cleansers and 6 tubs of Cereve moisture cream every month for my rare form of psoriasis. I love the fact that they make sure they have enough product for my monthly needs.

  • Super Specific Vinyl On Demand

The security guard that works here is a gem and makes my day every time I shop at this Walgreens (to get my energy drink on a break on long work days). The rest of the staff is friendly and efficient but they sure run out of stock on just about everything. Understaffed?

  • Eden Alexander

I had to get hair dye last night and it was late last minute..but I called ahead to make sure they carried my shade and the gentleman on the phone was super sweet and the young lady on shift was really nice and super funny we had a blast while she was wringing me up :D

  • J P

The pharmacy is a joke. It's often not any single employee that is at fault, it is a system that doesn't work. You can see the 'I'm sorry I wish I could provide better care but my corporate overlords have their own ideas of what pharmacy should be' look in their eye.

  • Kathryn Johansen

We have been to so many walgreens across the U.S. On a road trip...by far the worst. Bring a meal to eat in line while you wait for your script. 4 people in line will take enough time to run to the dmv and back...and most likely they won't have your script ready.

  • Chris Bergerson

I have been using this pharmacy for four years. I have always found them helpful and welcoming, whether i am refilling prescriptions or getting a shot. They have a waiting area which has been helpful. I am able to pick up my sisters scripts as well as my own.

  • Ahmed AL ZUBIDI

They management was great and they are so helpful I was looking something and they helped me I will recommend this pharmacy to my friends and family Well done guys you did a great job especially there is someone his name Hussam he is professional!

  • Tara

I go to this walgreens a lot and they usually have what you need. The pharmacy is fine, as well. Last time I was there the security guard was standing by the door watching videos on his phone. Probably should be a little more alert, lol.

  • Katy O'Bannon

The pharmacy is horrible! I can never get through via phone and have experienced unpleasant direct service. If I didn't have to use this pharmacy I definitely would not, but I have no choice atm. It sucks, I really hate going here.

  • Josiah Barber

The store staff is very helpful. Howevwer, the pharmaceutical h 8s not open 24 hours, as Google says. The staff had reached out to Google to fix this, but Google said it was not their problem. I arrived to a closed pharmacy.

  • Matt Gelgota

The advertise passport photos on their street sign specifically but said they “don’t do them anymore” when asked at the photo counter. They also said that no other Walgreens in the Portland area does them, not a single one.

  • Gregory Martin

Thanks for your company for working with CareOregon Advantage and selling OTC items i really like your vitamins and you have very cool stuff anamials and thanks for helping me find stuff in your store.keep up the great job.

  • John Boyd

Don't go here if you're taking meds you urgently need. Especially depression meds, no one should be yelled at when they just need depression meds. Especially people who are taking them to not have suicidal thoughts.

  • Toni Ashford

Consistently poor attitudes from the check out tellers and you can't count on the pharmacist to be in during open hours. Despite living just a block away, I will be switching my primary pharmacy to elsewhere.

  • Dolorosa Margulis

Bad inexperienced service! Computer misinformation stating product is ready when it is not Confusing with pricing because of inadequate insurance billing Unpleasant overall experience. Needs to be corrected.

  • Jay Calvin

this place sucks ass like no other. The employees are rude, doesnt greet you, not to mention they're super slow when it comes to register that they end up with a long line of people waiting....uhg

  • Jason Miller

The staff here is the best I've ever experienced at a Walgreen's. Justin at the counter is a great guy and the other employees I've met (but names I can't remember) are also super friendly.

  • Joe van Waardenburg

Worst pharmacy ever. I swear every time i have a Rx sent here it takes them at least 2 days to have it ready. Call ahead to make sure it's ready? That doesn't work either. Good grief!

  • Cynthia Hendrickson

Always waiting a minimum of 30 minutes in drive through, half the time they act like we are not there and when they finally acknowledge a customers presence it's with irritation.

  • Aaron Malik

The employees have been nice, but I’ve never seen a store with so many empty shelves and lack of product. If your stopping for snacks I’d recommend maybe finding somewhere else.

  • Scott Hanson

Extremely slow pharmacy. The only redeeming feature of the store is that it's near my home, but since they are always understaffed, it takes forever to get through the line.

  • Jennifer Grove

Very poor customer service in the photo department as well as with the store manager to resolve the issue. The primary issue is communication and customer service.

  • Tyler .Jackson

Nothing is in stock, and what is in stock is locked up, with only 1 person working you can’t get anything. Maybe just close this store if shoplifting is that bad

  • Lisa Hartung

Is there a Reason why the store has been closed by 7:30pm the last few nights. And they have done no update on there website!!! You just wasted my gas twice!!!

  • Ignatius “Iggy” van Zyl

Pharmacy is pathetic. Waited 40mins for my prescription and it was ready. They looked at me waiting and still did not call me. Shocking customer service.

  • Michael Collins

Not accomodating. The staff seems to not be happy in their jobs. The environment is not where one wants to be. The pharmacy experience is discouraging.

  • Michaela Corey

I like this Walgreens. Great location. Convenient and the staff is friendly. Compared to a lot of other Wallgreens this one is ok.

  • James Ute

They would not accept my tribal ID as a form of identification..... Lost my service specifically the manager named kiki

  • David Dixon

A very convenient location for walgreens for people who live in the NW. It is our local pharmacy and convenient store.

  • Peregrine Falcon

The previously terrible ratings were due to the old management in pharmacy. The new staff are quick and effective.

  • nathanial garrod

They are generally pretty kind. I go for Funko Pop’s a lot, and they don’t always restock what I’m looking for.

  • Jeremy Johnson

I wanted to pay to send a FAX. Guy was rude and said absolutely not! I'm sure they have a fax machine..

  • Martin Gizzi

Pleasant and informative pharmacist but the pharmacy is so understaffed you have to wait 20 minutes

  • Iron Tarkus

Literally go to any other store this one is awful. This store up charges sooooo much it's insane.

  • Ira Moore-Pichler

Rude & aggressive employees. Card reader barely works & has not been addressed in months.

  • AJ MARKOW (AJM PERSONAL)

Doesn't make me feel like my prescriptions are being filled in a sanitary environment.

  • Matthew Dee

This place had gone downhill in the last year. Walk a block down and go to Fred Meyer.

  • Kai Sales

Terrible pharmacy, messed up my prescription and made me go into withdraws for days.

  • Jeff E

Bare shelves, long lines... imminent tornado? No, just business as usual.

  • Blake Piper

My first and only pharmacy experience here left me no desire to return.
