I'm not sure what's happened at this clinic but similar to the review below mine, my recent experience with Walkers Line Veterinary clinic will be my last. I've been a client for years, a frequent flyer, but my loyalty doesnt seem to matter. In the spring I booked my dog in for her annual shots. This appointment was a month or two earlier than last year's due to an early tick season in my area. At this appointment, I paid approx ~$1400 for several services, the most vital being the vaccines. I asked the vet and staff TWICE if she was covered for the entire year because I planned on taking my dog into the woods and was told yes. A month or two later, I got an email that my dog is due for needles. Huh? I emailed to clarify... This was a mistake, right? Nope! It was inferred this was my fault for bringing the dog in earlier than last year and that I would need to pay for a new exam. After many back and forth emails Dr. Jaffery advised he relies on a piece of software that alerts him to outstanding vaccinations. Basically, they didn't read the file and told me my dog was covered when she wasn't. At a check up that was booked for the standard slew of annual shots. Mistakes happen and I anticipated paying the cost of the needle but not another exam! Walker's Line Veterinary Clinic dug in, and offered me $10 off an exam - what a joke! This is the culmination of a few things I haven't been sure about at recent appointments. I can't understand why $90 was worth losing me as a client as my dog's monthly costs exceed this, and I would have paid the office's costs for the vaccination. I don't expect special treatment but I do expect to be treated fairly. I'll find an office that does that.
I went as a walk-in last Saturday because I was really concerned about my cat. I ended up being persuaded to do an x-ray and blood work that cost me almost $1000. They couldn’t complete the urine analysis but they still ended up charging me for the attempt to grab a sample. To make matters worse the vet was trying to scam me out of another $400 to give electrolyte injections, supplements etc but I declined. Also, they told me I would receive my blood work Monday or Tuesday. On late Tuesday, I called the clinic and the story had changed, I was told the results will take till Wednesday or Thursday, but to stop calling because I would be emailed and would receive a call about the results. So I waited till Friday morning and called again, turns out the results came in Wednesday (according to the admin, but I checked the report and the results were available on Sunday). And no one called or emailed about the results, instead the vet on the phone proceeded to try to scam me out of more money and tells me to do an urinalysis because he claims my 14 month old cat has kidney disease. If my cat actually had kidney disease or high risk, wouldn’t you call me urgently to let me know?!?! I cannot believe how unprofessional and a scam this place was!!! My cat is very healthy, I discovered Tuesday that the reason she was vomiting was because she was eating grass in my backyard- I found grass in her vomit. The rest of the week I didn’t let her out in the yard and she didn’t throw up. I give her reverse osmosis water to drink which is the best and only feed her organic dry food- she definitely as no problems with her kidneys especially with being only 14 months.
Paid $1000 for 6 stitches for my rabbit. My groomer accidentally nicked my rabbit during her groom. She was left with a 3-inch open wound on her stomach. Since it was a Saturday, I called 11 vets until I could find one that would take her. Walker's Line took her within an hour which I was pleased about. After a quick exam, the vet told me that my bunny needed stitches, which I had anticipated. What I did not anticipate was being handed a $1000 vet bill for a $300 service. I expressed my concerns about the price and the only thing that was offered to me was to forgo the stitches and only pay for pain meds and antibiotics. The total after removing the stitches from the service was still a whopping $500, simply for medicine. My regular vet is closed on Saturdays so I had no choice but to give in and pay this completely inappropriate vet bill. As a student in university, I did not appreciate this at all. If I had a choice, I would've walked right out and gone to another vet, but no vet near me could take her. This vet performed the stitches fine, and the actual care of my bunny was fine. However, I don't care how good of a vet you are if you're going to gouge people for money. It's so disgusting to know that there are vets out there that care more about money than the wellbeing of animals. While I appreciate them being able to take my bunny in on such short notice, I don't appreciate their price for a service that would have costed $300 at another vet.
Horrible, horrible, horrible service. I spoke to the manager (Melissa or so she said after reluctantly telling me) who I have to fight with just so she would give me her name (I have all the right to know by law not sure why that's a big deal to refuse) and wanted to book an appointment and she was extremely rude and very, very unprofessional. Also they over charge for service from last time but I thought I would go back since they have all my dogs records. After she was snooty I asked to send me the paperwork for the last times my dog has been there so I can take her elsewhere where they know about professionalism. She said "we don't have to do that"! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! By law I can request them and so can my next vet!!! For being a so called "mamager" she sure doesn't act like one or know much! I WILL BE TELLING EVERYONE TO NOT GO HERE. She finally after I kept calling back and insisting said she would send the paperwork this afternoon to my email...we will see! If this is the manager guys good luck! Who knows how they treat your beloved pets inside when you are not watching. I wouldn't take my chances!
I took our bearded dragon to WLVH once for a wellness check after we first adopted him and then a second time very recently because he was very sick. The vet and staff were confident and knowleageable in their approach and treated Ember with love and care. They explained the cost of the tests and treatment plan upfront so I could make an informed decision. The costs were aligned with our research (the reality is vet care is expensive, if you own a pet you need to take accountability and understand how much vet care is and not complain or say rude things about the cost and blame the vet for the high costs). WLVH is fair and their cost is aligned with other exotic vets in the area. The most important thing to me was that they were available to treat our baby which they were (on day 5 of visits to them), and they were empathetic and gave TLC to Ember which they did. I highly recommend them for beardie care :) we don't know how it will turn out for Ember but we do feel he is getting the best care possible. Thank-you!
The worst vet experience I've ever had My Rottweiler Hurt her paw playing fetch i brought her here knowing she needs an x-ray and the veterinarian brought her to the back they would not let me go back with her. Then the vet came and told me my dog pooped on his exam table shes never had an accident in the house since she was a pup again he would not let me go back in with her. When comes out again he tries to tell me that she might have a thyroid problems or maybe a tik so he gave me a invoice for $1600.00 to do blood work and x-ray they're con artists and try to get money for things that have nothing to do with the reason you brought your anamal in for I brought her to another vet and got her checked out and she got x-ray sedating blood work and meds for under $300 these people only care about profit not the well-being of your pet and guess what she had no signs of having a thyroid problem or tik problems
Began going here with my Bearded Dragon when the place was quite new, and was very helpful. Eventually decided when we got our puppy to bring her here as well. We have had generally good experiences since and pricing had been fair, however have noted where there was very little pressure to pursue extra expenses before, more recently there has been a bit of a shift. Five years after becoming a client, we decided to move our cat to here from our previous vet and were slapped with a $600 bill worth of tests cause our cat is 11 and they wanted to rule out EVERYTHING, he was brought in only for annual shots... Then asked to return for another $600 worth of additional work within a week, and pressured via calls and emails, which we declined. Our cat has always been healthy and continues to be. We currently still bring our dog here but the prices are getting steeper with each return visit.
My cat's ear was damaged during, what supposed to be an ordinary ear cleaning procedure. I brought my cat for check on her mild ear discharge. Because of the COVID-19, I had to wait outside and couldn't be present during the visit. I was told that my cat doesn't have ear mites, but doctor Jaffery suggested to clean her ear anyway. After the procedure my cat looked like she had a brain damage. She was vomiting, falling on either side, when walking, couldn't eat or drink on her own and her eye was drooping on the affected side. On top of that she was sent home with expired ear drops. I had to go to another vet for emergency care, and I'm still paying for her recovery. She still has vestibular symptoms after 3 weeks, and lost her hearing completely. Dr. Jaffery never took responsibility for my cat ear damage and never even said sorry that this had happened.
Visited this clinic with 2 Ukrainian women who needed to get their Yorkshire Terrier "certified" before traveling to Turkey. The service was excellent though pricey they felt -- $310 -- whereby the same service is only $25 in Turkey apparently (they couldn't afford to stay in Canada so they were returning to Turkey, to which they'd fled from war-torn Ukraine). The vet also informed the recent immigrants that they had to go to the Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) in Hamilton to get federal clearance and notorization. Otherwise the dog couldn't go. An appt needed to be booked (taking even more time) and the cost was just over $20. Once at Pearson Airport NOBODY asked for the documents certifying their pet. As it turned out none of the costs re: money, time, energy had been necessary.
This was the worst vet experience of my life. The Veterinarian injected my puppy with 3 different injections. One of being leptospirosis vaccine which we did not agree too nor did we get asked about which vaccines to give. It ending up almost killing my dog with an allergic reaction. I’m writing this so other animal parents don’t have to go through this. Thankfully the nurse noticed my dogs gum were white and her eyes were shutting after handing us our puppy back. 5 hours later of pure agony we get a call saying our puppy’s breathing has stabilized and that she could of died from a horrible allergic reaction. This could of been avoided with proper explanation of different types of vaccines to us as clients. I hope this experience never happens to anyone ever again!
We called this office in a panic while we were en route from Mississauga to Burlington. Our normal vet was closed, and there did not appear to be other vet's open on a Sunday afternoon. Our 2 1/2 year old Boxer got very sick in the car ride and turned a very pale white. The vet was very accommodating and polite. He also showed us the costs of everything he was doing before going through with it. He gave is the option to be proactive about the sudden illness or just see what would happen. He gave us much relief, after a very stressful morning. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone. He was professional and overall just great.
Terrible place abusive to pets they said 24 hours my cat wouldn't still be feeling groggy they lied. They filled her up with drugs my sweet kitten is now aggressive and hisses and growls. Our family dog is also groggy and unwell. My family's other kitten is in the same groggy state. The other kitten is acting in the same way as my kitten. For veterinarians to claim they are professional's from what my family and I have experienced I believe their claims to being professionals is untrue and i believe no one else should experience what we are going through with the family pets who are members of our family.
A good vet. I had taken my cats there for years. Staff was always very accommodating and professional. Dr Jaffrey made it a point to follow up and helped us out on a few occasions outside of normal business hours. His pricing was reasonable and although the clinic often offered services that were above and beyond they never forced them upon you or made you feel that you were neglecting your pet, focused on the must haves. Since the clinic is smaller and resources limited when a true emergency occurred I did opt for the larger clinics with in house blood and diagnostic capabilities.
While visiting relatives for the holiday weekend our dog injured his paw and needed care. Many other vets in the area were unable to fit us in but they took us right away at Walkers Line vet hospital. Had to perform a short procedure under sedation. Options were provided and explained well by vet and assistant. Gave us and our dog great care and service. Prices seem on par with other city vets but given it was a holiday weekend and an emergency situation we were very pleased with the rates.
If you love your pet, stay away from this place... there are big ethical questions about this place where pets are given redundant treatments and vaccinations just to squeeze more money out of owners... very sad that someone would do that... Had my pet here for a few years and decided to leave... only that is when I found that vaccinations that should be administered once every three years was given every year and parasite treatments were doubled for no good medical reason...
I had to find an avian veterinarian to examine my African Grey Parrot. I cannot say enough about the kindness and caring people at this clinic…The Doctor was very good and very honest… my parrot was very sick and I had to unfortunately say good bye to him… they really looked after me as well… as I was devastated… they really are lovely people there! I received a beautiful sympathy card from them as well. I also have a big dog… maybe I will be switching veterinarians!
Dr. Jaffery has taken the best of care with our dog. Buster just turned 14 and thanks to the great care Dr. Jaffery has provided, we expect he has a few years yet! Buster had two ACL repairs and with plates in his back legs has arthritis. Dr. Jaffery has helped Buster keep active and healthy as well as pain management so he his a happy boy! Buster can't wait to visit Dr.Jaffery and we have never had a vet who was so caring!!
The best Veterinary clinic I have ever been to. Very clean and organized, Dr. Jaffery and his team are very welcoming and compassionate. I have taken my dog there throughout his life since he was a puppy, about 7 years. Dr. Jaffery is very knowledgeable and caring. There’s been several times when he has cut his personal time short to come into the office to take care of our dog. Highly recommend!
I had to find a vet who cared for small animals as I was babysitting my daughter’s hamster, Beans. The Dr and the staff were so kind and took their time explaining everything to me. They took great care of Beans and even called the next day to see how she was doing. I am super impressed!! Thank you for caring about our furry children as much as we do ♥️ I highly recommend this Animal Hospital!
I bring my cat Lady here every year! The staff here is so sweet and gentle with Lady. She’s so calm when she’s with them. The staff and Akram are always so helpful in walking me through the steps and explaining the different vaccines and treatments to me! They are incredibly diligent in checking up on Lady and I and making sure we stay on top of vaccines and treatments!
We have been with this vet hospital for many years with several cats and dogs. The staff and vets are awesome and provide top notch service. They are so kind and caring to all our animals right from when they were puppies and kittens up to those sad times when our furbabys reached their end of life. Highly recommend! We especially adore Dr Jaffery and Melissa
Wendy is fantastic, Dr. Jaffery is awesome! They both do their job wonderfully, they are nice, friendly, and make you and your pet feel comfortable and welcomed. I have used two other vet's before finding Walker's Line Veterinary Hospital and this is the place I know I can trust with my fur babies! I found my new Vet, thank you Wendy & Dr. Jaffery!!
I visited Walkers Line Veterinary Hospital on Friday evening. My dog had an irritated inflamed eye so I called and they took my dog in the same day. The staff are very polite and professional, I highly suggest this veterinary hospital. My dog’s eye is looking 100% better now, the antibiotics they gave me worked wonders. Thanks for your help.
Thank you to Dr. Iftikhar and his team! Our dog was attacked by another dog today and left with multiple puncture wounds. They took him in immediately, kept us up to date throughout the day as the treated his injuries. Everyone was so kind and caring and Dobby lapped up the attention. Thanks so much to everyone who was involved in his care!
I've been taking my senior dog to Dr. Jaffrey for just over a year and have been very happy with the level of care he shows both me and my boy. All of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, courteous, kind, caring vet. I wish I have found them sooner!
Very pricy !!!! went twice with my dog Lego treat his ear infection. End up spending over $1000 and after a month he still had a problem. so decided changed vets, went to the one on Appleby and Mainway, after fist visit and spending $380 my dog got some tests, and right medicine. ( two different antibiotics plus ear drops).
Excellent doctor and staff. Took our little kitten and everyone was so helpful and gentle with him, answered all my questions. Later for his surgery the doctor took the time to explain and the staff made us feel very comfortable. They also called us back and gave updates on his recovery. I recommend this vet to everyone.
Front desk staff is great - however the doctor did not ask me anything and took X-rays without asking and then told me my dog had a heart murmur . My dog doesn’t and never did . Tried to stick me with a $1000 bill and didn’t even tell me what was wrong . Go anywhere else please this place is a money grab at best
This is by far the the best vet clinic in the area. The doctors are great and the reception staff are just fantastic. Not only will they provide excellent care, they know me and my kitties by name, and they call after visits to follow up on my kitties health. They go above and beyond. Highly recommended.
Terrific experience every time I visit. Dr. Jefferey is most kind and understanding to both me and my cat Faye. The staff are 100% caring and helpful, over and above anywhere I have been in the past. I am most greatful to have Dr. Jefferey in the community. It is my pleasure to write this review.
Great experience. Not pushy at all, and gave us as much time as we needed to discuss our options while there. Took my small parakeet to them and Dr Jaffery was very knowledgeable as well as caring for my animal. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for great vet care and knowledge :)
Friendly and professional staff! Doctor Halina is a very good vet. She always takes the time to listen and explain everything clearly. She gives a very good advices. Also, Nicole the assistant is very friendly and has a very professional manners. I highly recommend this veterinary.
Love WL Vet Hospital! Every single staff member here is so caring and sweet! They all genuinely love working with animals and have such a wonderful rapport with the 'fur parents!' Our sweet senior miniature cockapoo is so loved and lucky to be a part of this vet family ❤️
Staff are amazing here, super kind and very focused on your pet. It's the little things that stick out; the check-up calls, their genuine care for animals, and their helpful staff who are more than happy to inform you of how best to care for your pet! A++
All the staff here are amazing! Melissa is incredibly genuine and you can tell she cares. She always takes the time to look into questions she might not know right away and always calls you back. She makes both our cats feel comfortable at every visit.
I had to put my sweet rat down today and Dr. Jaffrey and his Vet tech Wendy were amazing. Yes it's "just a rat" but we loved her very much and they treated her like any dog or cat. Thank you for making a horrible day a bit better .
We really like this clinic even though we have others closer to home. The vet and his staff are always so friendly and they are great for following uo to see how our dogs are doing. we have recommended them to our friends as well.
Walkers Line Vet clinic took care of our new feline baby, Bella and the vet did an amazing job at educating me and settling my nerves along with taking care of our new cat! Would highly recommend taking your pets here!
They were very helpful and caring when we had to put our 15 year old cat down. It was hard and they eased it slightly. They have also been good with our new kittens and keeping them healthy. I would recommend them.
Walker line veterinary hospital was very helpful for my rabbit, my rabbit was experiencing some ear problems that’s turned into growth. The doctor and receptionist was very helpful. Very pleased with their service
Very nice vet, came here with a bird for an emergency once and he was taken care of promptly and everything went super smoothly. The staff were incredibly caring (especially the lady at the front desk!)
Took my fur baby Hershey to the clinic for his second vaccine. Doctor was friendly and was answering all my queries. This is our first pet and we were very nervous about his well being.
Was given a price for a bag of dog food over the phone. Came to pick up - the price was more than 40$ higher that what I was told. Wish I wouldn't be mislead.
Amazing staff! Dr. Jaffery is very kind and committed to his job. My family and I have moved to Hamilton but will still return here!
Very friendly and professional. Interacted with the animals perfectly, pets were never nervous or uneasy about any of the staff.
They were the one hospital that helped with our sick small hamster . That alone also helped my 8year old daughter . Thank you
Fantastic staff, very caring and kind. I went here to have my lizard put down and they handled it fabulously. I recommend!
Been coming here for 20 years, love it! *Not sure who put my review here, I’ve never used this vet*
