I would not recommend anyone go to West Alabama Animal Clinic. There is not any consistency in quality of care, there are major failings in communication and they definitely give the impression that customers are expendable. I began taking my pets to West Alabama in 2010. My first experience was weekly visits with my very sick puppy. It turned out that she had distemper. She received great care at WAAC and our doctor really went above and beyond for her. I really credit Dr. Tiffani Taylor with survival of my beloved puppy. I felt fiercely loyal to WAAC (even after Dr. Taylor left the practice) and gave them far too many opportunities to correct glaring issues. Routinely, if one of WAAC’s doctors or staff members says they will call you - they don’t. The onus often falls on the customer to follow up and seek out necessary communication. Our senior dog was dropped off early on March 15, 2023 for a visit. I believe she was seen by Dr. Martinez. We have multiple dogs and they all see a different doctor every time they go and no one seems particularly invested. While our dog was at the office we received multiple calls from staff with questions about adding services and were told we would receive a call when she was ready to be picked up. We never received a call. A doctor has still yet to call us to discuss her visit, even though a huge growth was discovered on the side of her neck when she was shaved down in her “medical groom”. We went to pick her up shortly before close without being called so our dog wouldn’t spend the night at the vet’s. (They do not allow pick ups even moments after close. Even if you are not notified your pet is ready to be collected with enough time to actually drive to WAAC before close. They will charge you for kenneling if your dog spends the night.) I complained to the front desk that we had not gotten a call when our dog was finished with her appointment and ready to be picked up. The following day their office manager called me to respond to my concerns. Her reaction to my grievance with my experience was, “It sounds like we can no longer meet your needs.” Sadly, that is very accurate. I asked for a phone call from the veterinarian that owns the practice, Dr. Rosser. That has not happened. If you seek out reviews for WAAC, there are many that echo my same concerns. Over and over the negative reviews repeat a lack of communication and a decline in care from West Alabama Animal Clinic. I believe that people still have positive experiences with WAAC, I also believe all the negative feedback, as well. In October 2021 a friend’s dog was dropped at WAAC and somehow escaped. The dog was, thankfully, found by a stranger hours later at the Contemporary Arts Museum. There are far too many options in where you take your pet in Houston, Texas to excuse such gross negligence.
Dr. Novasad and her remarkable staff have truly been a godsend. When my beloved Covid rescue faced health challenges that three other veterinarians couldn't diagnose, it was Dr. Novasad's expert eye that pinpointed the issue. Our journey led us to Sugar Land for chemo treatments under the care of Dr. Novasad's equally outstanding husband. Their combined expertise, warmth, and dedication have given my sweet boy a new lease on life, for which I'm endlessly grateful. Our trust in this clinic deepened when I adopted an elderly rescue who was in dire straits. From the outset, Dr. Novasad and her team approached her with the utmost kindness and compassion. Their unparalleled care has given my new rescue a renewed zest for life. Watching her blossom and engage joyfully with the world around her has been nothing short of miraculous. I wholeheartedly endorse this clinic and urge anyone in search of top-tier veterinary care to look no further. Dr. Novasad and her team not only excel in their profession but also genuinely care for each pet as if it were their own. I will forever be in their debt and always recommend their services. They are, without a doubt, the best! Thank you WAAC!
My partner and I have taken our cat here for eight years now, and I no longer recommend the practice if you have a cat. Issues within the last year across multiple visits include botched blood work, unenthusiastic and poorly trained staff, and lack of follow through efforts to get a diagnosis on a particular health issue for our cat. Plus, every time we’ve brought our cat in, they make you see a different vet, so there is inconsistency in the care provided. I have gotten tired of having to explain the same health history of my cat over and over again like it’s the first time we’ve ever been to the clinic. Does whatever vet tech or vet they assign to the appointment even bother to read through our cat’s chart? Finally, at some appointments I have not even been able to see or speak to a vet even after asking to do so, and am left to deal only with an uninformed vet tech. We won’t be returning. Side note - tried them once for grooming and the quality was terrible. You’d think a five year old gave the cat a bath at home. Our poor kitty was left with soap suds and areas of matted fur. Plus, they forgot to even trim certain areas.
I really love West Alabama Animal Clinic. They are super responsive whether you text, email, or call, and I've always had a good experience in the office. They always give you an invoice of what care was done and the cost breakdown of each thing which I really appreciate, and it all seems reasonable/comparable to vet care nearby. I love that you can schedule appointments online. They took care of my dog's neuter last May and we had no issues at all with it. He's an anxious little guy but they are so good with him! We've seen a few different vets here and had a great experience with all of them. Thank you, West Alabama Animal Clinic!
The staff at the clinic were nice. They were able to get us in immediately and showed empathy. I was too sad to get the doctor's name as we were laying our puppy to rest but she was so kind. We do plan to adopt again and this will be our new clinic. The only little thing is they placed our male puppy on a pink blanket(). It was a good laugh during a sad time though as we all chuckled. As we were in the room waiting we were able to see a chart on the wall with some of their pricing. They are comparable to the Thrive and Banfield vets (chains in Petco and Petsmart). Great job! See you soon.
This pet clinic was the greatest!! I had to come to Houston for a family funeral with 2 high maintenance senior dogs that needed to be boarded overnight. One was 19 years old and the other 12 with diabetes which required insulin injections twice a day. The clinic didn’t smell like a vet clinic so my boys weren’t petrified going to the vet for once. In fact one didn’t want to leave before letting the technicians know he was leaving. That was a good sign he was taken care. He was dancing around, wagging his his tail and just looked overall HAPPY. I will definitely come back when needed!!
I tried this place when I first moved into the area. The vet was nice but the wait was 45 mins, the staff wasn’t very nice, the parking was hard, but most importantly, they made too many mistakes. They didn’t accurately review my pet’s medical records and therefore did not order the necessary tests. When I realized their mistake, I didn’t feel comfortable going back and had to pay additional fees (another medical exam) for another vet to take over my pet’s care. Unfortunately, they did not live up to the number of good reviews they have.
I've been going to West Alabama for about 2-1/2 years now. I moved to the SW and my daughter recommended them. They have been wonderful in treating my very senior dog (16). The people are caring and compassionate as well as friendly and professional and knowledgeable. They helped me on June 23, 2022 when it was time to say goodbye to my previous girl and their care, concern, and true compassion could not have been more genuine. I'm going to continue to take my animals there.
I love WAAC! They have taken the best care of my furbaby the last 2.5 years! All of the Vets there are thorough and informative. The staff are all so loving. I am so grateful for all of the staff, they are wonderful! They are sweet and caring and truly have your pets best interest at heart. They are timely in their responses, and always available when an unexpected need arises. I love them and wouldn't go anywhere else for my pets care. :)
We’ve been bringing our puppy here since February and we love it! Everyone there is so kind, the vet techs always seem so happy to see our little guy and make an effort to make sure he’s comfortable and cared for. Dr. Parham is very knowledgeable and kind. They’ve helped us stay on top of routine stuff like vaccines and checkups, and we had a great experience getting him neutered there. They truly care a lot here and do a great job!
The facility is clean and well kept and their prices are very reasonable. I love that there are separate/private entrances for cats and dogs since we have both in our home. It makes drop off and pick up super easy. We also board our two dogs here regularly now and they always come home happy! The staff is welcoming and very helpful - they're very patient with my large, rambunctious doberman, who can be a handful.
The best veterinary clinic in Houston! I tried a few other vets before finding West Alabama Animal Clinic and will never go elsewhere. They are honest, fair priced and never suggest unnecessary procedures or treatments. We love Dr. Eddingston and the staff. They take such wonderful care of our dogs and always make time to answers my questions and carefully explain procedures/treatments.
We have been coming to West Alabama Animal Clinic for over 10 years during which they have treated a variety of injuries and illnesses for our several dogs.I highly appreciate the medical credentials and skills of their veterinarians, and helpfulness of their support staff. They have been available and up to the challenge for all of our pet medical needs. Thank you WAAC.
QUICK TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT CANT GIVE A CALL BACK AND LIE SAY SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU AND NEVER DO! Will end up having to call them every other hour just and feel you have to harass them just to get help or assistance from someone! BAD CHOICE TO SPEND MONEY HERE OR BRING MY PUPPY TO A PLACE WITH LITTLE TO NO URGENCY FOR PATIENTS.. any other vet clinic would do
The VERY BEST ANIMAL CLINIC I HAVE EVER GONE TO !! And over the yrs. I have been thru the doors of many. Dr. Rosser is extremely knowledgeable, kind, patent, and caring. The staff went out of the way to help me after my visit. They were polite and understanding. I would recommend W.A.A.C. to any one who wants the best care for their dog or cat.
I can't say enough good things about this clinic! I'm a total helicopter mom to my Great Dane, Cash, and definitely a pain in the butt. They tolerate my phone calls and questions like champs, as it's so hard to do curbside when you want to go in! They seem to really know their stuff, and I appreciate them very much! Thanks, guys!
I’ve been taking my dachshund Lovey to West Alabama Clinic for 10 years. The staff is great with Lovey. On the occasions that I have boarded her the staff is accommodating and sweet with Lovey. The veterinary and boarding prices are reasonable too. It’s a great clinic and I recommend them for all of your veterinarian needs.
West Alabama Animal clinic has been our vet for several years and my dog is always looked after with the utmost care. Everyone there is very friendly, willing to go the extra mile to be helpful and efficient. I highly recommend them if you need a Vet who is caring and treats your animal as if it was their own : )
Everyone at WAAC is professional, courteous and has great rapport with their patients. It's evident they love and know how to treat both dogs and cats, and although it's natural to not want to go to the doctor, our babies could not be in better hands... the vets and everyone else in WAAC are great!! Thank you!!
We're on our third dog that W. Ala. has tended to and we've always been very happy with all aspects of the clinic: professionalism, friendliness of staff, the docs calling directly to discuss medical issues. All in all, quite pleased. We've dealt with other places a long time ago w/o such positive results.
I've been going to West Alabama Animal Clinic for many years. I had a particularly awesome experience this week: We were waiting in the room for the vet, I posted a check-in and one of the staff saw the check-in and came in just to pet my doggos. So cute! They truly love animals and it shows!
Really like this clinic been coming for 2 years since I got my puppy, ease of making appointments and the office communicates when vaccinations and annual checks are due. With the app I can share his vaccination record when needed. The Vets are awesome very knowledgeable and thorough.
Very smooth experience! It was my first time taking my cat to this clinic. Dr. Molly and the staff were friendly and professional, she calmed down my cat during my visit and addressed my questions plus if a test isn’t required she would tell you. Check up visit was $60.
I’ve been going here for almost two decades, and this is an amazing veterinary practice. They are kind and thoughtful. When I was on a budget, they were always considerate of letting me know the impact of decisions. I absolutely love this veterinary practice.
The best care possible for my cat. Dr. Dany and Dr. Cerovsky have been nothing but the best for my cats routine visits and dental surgeries. Love this place. They even have separate entrance doors for cats and dogs, for reduced stress.
Picked up my kitty from boarding. It was pouring down rain & the curbside pickup was awesome & efficient. Confident my kitty was well taken care of. He relaxed after finally realizing he was home. Highly recommend!
Great pet service. They’ve always been accommodating with my pet and getting her seen when needed. They’re grooming service is also fantastic! I feel so safe and comfortable leaving my dog in their care
I was visiting Houston and had to put my dog down and it was devastating but WAAC was so nice and accommodating and so sweet to my baby. I'm very grateful to them for being so caring.
That always go above and beyond to take care of my Bella! She loves going to the vet and that's not normal in my experience with other pets. They are great.
I feel comfort knowing that this place is boarding my pets. Never a problem!! Medical staff on hand should shenanigans or medical issues pop up.
