Little Lady (my CKC Spaniel) & I regularly walk through the varied terrain of Southeast Portland's spacious Public Park adjacent to Woodstock Elementary School, as we come & go between home & the Woodstock Neighborhood shopping & entertainment areas. A neighborhood park bounded on its north and most-easily accessed along SE Steele Street from SE 47th Ave to SE 50th Ave. *Limited CURBSIDE PARKING ONLY!. (Shared with Seasonal Sports Activities.) *TRIMET Routes -10 (on Steele ), -19 (on Woodstock ), -71 (on 52nd), -75 (on Woodstock. ) *Portland Bicycle Routes *paved sidewalks *Groceries, Restaurants nearby. We enjoy our visits in every Season, with delights for the senses & hearts of artists, poets, pets and Children-of-all-ages. Of course, the Open Space / Off-Lease Dog Park is a MAJOR attraction for Lady & her friends ( Look! A Squirrel! ) Walking / biking paths. Jogging paths for exorcisers (pun intended.) Tree-shaded Picnic Areas (Reserve @ PPB website.) Sports Fields (Often Reserved. See PPB website.) Toddler Play Areas near WES school grounds. Well-maintained Public Restroom structures. *All facilities are ADA-Compliant. -DAYTIME USE ONLY- -NO CAMPING- -SOME USES RESTRICTED DURING SCHOOL HOURS - -SEE PORTLAND PARKS BUREAU WEBSITE FOR DETAILS.

Shade trees! Baby swings! 4 stars because there is the off leash area next to the kid’s playground. Dogs out of control on the playground can cause problems at times. I have stepped in it more than once. On site bathroom (for humans) in the summer months. Great playground with lots of baby swings, toddler play area with tiny slide and playhouse. All the good hazardous structures: merry go round, teeter totters, metal slide, pull up bars and swings. Good drinking fountain (once in a while entitles dog owners let their dog drink out of this fountain by having them put their front paws on it, so use at your own risk) The best thing is it is very close to the Woodstock elementary school playground so you get two playgrounds to use (not so many dogs over there) and a baseball diamond and field to play catch or frisbee. Kids can ride safely around the play courts around the school as well as the trails around Woodstock park. So bring your rollerblades, scooters and trikes!

Love this little neighborhood park, which also doubles as an off-leash dog park. Perfect place to bring your doggo for a quick stroll or game of fetch. Most people who frequent the dog park area are friendly, but if you're feeling anti-social, there's usually enough space to trail off and away from the crowd. Not the biggest city park Portland has to offer, but IT has everything you need. Giant old trees providing tons of shade, big open green spaces, a jungle gym on the side of the park that borders an elementary school, a baseball diamond in the Northeast corner, an off-leash dog park area that provides running water for the doggies as well as a big dirt pit for them to rough house in, and some benches for us two legged creatures to rest on. Lovely little park, rain or shine. I'm

Love this park! Although the playground activities are more traditional, they are well maintained and the playground area always feels safe. I love that I see the same parents, grandparents and caretakers there over and over again. They have a big kid swing set with 6 swings and a baby swing set with 6 or maybe 8 swings. The super tall slide makes me a little nervous, but the kids love it. The spinner has some kind of contraption built in so that it can't spin very fast, making it safe for toddlers. I love their baby and toddler section with a very short climbing structure, slide and rocking horse. The off-leash dog area is a blast! Friendly dog-parents and friendly doggos alike! We've been taking our doggos here for about 3 years now and (knock on wood!) have never had a run in with a mean dog.

Park has two baseball diamonds doubles as a soccer field from time to time. 2 tennis courts fenced in. Park is adjacent to an elementary school. Picnic area surrounded by pine trees. Good spot for community and family gatherings. Of note: The dog park area is not fenced in and immediately next to the picnic area. It's fair to say that the dog park area frequently sprawls into the surrounding park areas that is technically not part of the dog park. It is generally not a problem, but if you are concerned about unleashed dogs in general this ma be concerning, particularly if you are bringing small kids to play in the playground area (also right next to the park.) Personally I really like this park, but your mileage may vary based on your preferences.

It was a peaceful , quite and very nice atmosphere. The people were friendly and considerably hepful...the park mainly consist of wide open space, with variated stretches of grass patches, plenty of tall, fir trees for shade.. The park also offers a fully accessible, brick house bathroom that has both hot and cold running water and drinking fountains!! I believe they also have pet friendly accessible fountaibs as well!! All in all, its a lovely park!! Perfect for almost all the outdoor experiences that Oregonians love....

  • Jordan Dahl

This is a great neighborhood park. It's well kept and people are respectful and generally friendly.
Dog-friendliness
This is a dog friendly park. I'm not sure if this is an area where dogs are allowed to go off leash but I have seen several of them running through the grass off leash. That said I've never seen or been aware of any problems resulting from this. Everyone seems to really respect one another and the dogs all seem well behaved. The park is also very clean and we'll kept.

  • Mariah Hunter

This is a lovely neighborhood park. There is a nice baseball diamond, a place to swing and slide for younger kids and a walking path. People bring their dogs to unleash and play and/or have picnics at the benches in the summer. Sometimes in the summer there are arts and crafts for the children as well as a movie night in the park summer evenings. Since the park is also a part of the school you will often times see children and families enjoying everything this lovely park has to offer.

Love the off leash areas in Portland. This one is a little less perfect due to its proximity to the playground. We saw another dog on leash because he tried to steal a ball from folks playing catch. The people were congregated in between the dogs and kids and at first we joined, but then another dog went for my dog's ball in the air and split my dog's lip with his teeth (which I was not upset about- dogs chase balls). We loved the park once we grabbed a little space.

  • Alan Spriggs

Beautiful Park next to a school. It's almost ready to forget that it's also considered a dog park since it's such a good sized park and it's well maintained. I like to come and watch the dogs, enjoy the shade under the many trees, and occasionally soak up the sun in the open areas. There's also tennis courts and a baseball field to utilize if anyone wanted to take advantage of those options. All in all, I think this park is definitely worth stopping by for a while.

  • Diana Kitsune

Woodstock park is pretty nice. They have a playground, a few benches, and an off leash dog area. A lot of people bring their dogs there and personally I’ve found that everyone is respectful and I’ve never had any issues with the dogs. My dog loves running around and playing with other friendly pups. Obviously, be careful when taking your dog there if they don’t have a good recall as the off leash area is not fenced.

  • Timothy Hembree

How much time do you have I went to this school right here and that was 50 years ago. Having said that I'm a little partial to this park. I remember playing Little league baseball right over there on those diamonds. After baseball practice I would run home to watch Star trek my favorite show when I was Young all the trees in the park are 50 years older it's a very good park bring your dog

  • Kristen Montgomery

Beautiful park next to Woodstock Elementary. Has a little roll to the land. There is a playground with one of those high, steep and scary metal slides from your childhood, and they even have seesaws! There is also a dog area that is off leash beside the playground area. However, the dog park is not fenced, so there is a chance of dogs being in the playground area. Just stay alert.

  • Neal Carr

This park really captures the vibe of the Woodstock District which is woke, casual, cutting edge while being somewhat traditional too. I treasure breaks from gug work here and practice mandolin or guitar, like I'd done this eve. It's always well received by others and I never feel like it is unsafe . Big and spacious, which is important these days during these pandemic days!

  • Andrew Hoffmann

We love only a few blocks away, and are here all the time with our pup. Best thing: the water pump for dogs! This is by far my favorite dog park to come to. It's never overcrowded, and the people that typically come here are friendly. There are a few select people that don't pay attention to their dogs but, oh well. It's just a good local community of good people.

  • Alex W

Wonderful Park! Soccer field, off leash but unenclosed dog area which always feels like it's out of Portlandia, and of course, some beautiful old Douglas firs. Old school play equipment for kids. Always a good time here. There is also a baseball diamond that I often see people playing on, but I don't play, so can't comment on that, other than to note it exists.

  • Doru Snegur

great little park in a nice area. the fact that its right by a school makes it a really family friendly park. tennis and basketball courts. They have portable restrooms, that's always a plus. its right by bus 10 and 71. a short walk to Woodstock gets you to bus 19 and 75. so you can get around easily. one of my favorite parks in SE Portland for sure.

  • Jason Markantes

Nice off leash dog park. No features at all for the dogs, but probably one of the largest open areas dedicated to dogs, so they can get a real proper run. Not really usable in the wet months as it becomes just a pure mud pit up top. Careful your dog doesn't run far to the south and spook the children on the playground right there.

  • Mark Perin

Unenclosed off lease dog area right by the kids playground is poor planning. Their used to be a couple of picnic tables at the kids play area, but Portland Parks removed them years ago and never replaced them. I have no idea why. There is a bathroom onsite. There's also a permanently-closed kids wading pool.

  • Pete Richardson

Came here to enjoy a low-key afternoon in the shade and immediately got attacked by my karate rival from childhood. Long story short, she obliterated my nose and now I need reconstructive surgery. What I would recommend is that if you have enemies, maybe stay away from public places such as Woodstock Park.

  • F K

Just a city, no frills neighborhood park....nothing special, about 1/4 mile walk to walk around the perimeter....lots of trees for shade....a little play area for tots.....you can bring your blanket and rest...restrooms look closed....good for frisbee....no grills or picnic tables...its a free park.....

  • Victor Stroud

I have loved this park since I was a child, huge and green, huge trees green grass, bleachers and baseball field, disk golf corse, drinking fountains
Restrooms
Big and open, kinda dirty
Picnic area
The best huge picnic table after picnic table as far as the eye can see

  • Echo Schaffer

Have spent a lifetime coming to this park. Love watching the dogs up at the dog run area. Big open areas, Adult swings, small children play area. Only park in SE Portland that still has the full size Merry Go Round. Plenty of space for family picnic (no tables, bring your own).

  • Melinda Dominguez

Cool place to run the kids or dogs.... BUT be aware of the little packages owners and their dogs leave for you or your kids to discover....lets just say my little niece might need might need therapy now..........and your dog might not be safe playing next to her..... …

  • Heatherann “Nausi Windstrider” Price

This is a nice park with green fields, lovely trees. There are places to sit but no obvious bathroom. Lots of dogs. Often off leash which is quite annoying. People do seem to pick up after them though. There are some toys for kids and fields to run in. Grass is watered.

  • Ellie C.

This park is one of my favorites. It's pretty quiet most of the time and it's a good place to sit and enjoy a sunny day
Restrooms
They're pretty clean!
Dog-friendliness
I see lots of doggos here.
Picnic area
Lots of tables around the park.

  • Conor Gilles

Playground is decent, but I wish it was bigger. It has a dog area and a couple baseball diamonds. Also a soccer field. And a small hill that's pretty good for sledding when it snows. There are also quite a few tall trees, which provide plenty of shade on hot days.

  • Kel B

Fun playground. Plenty of dogs. Nice trees and nostalgic being near Woodstock School. The old smoke stack shows off a sign of the times and adds to the charm of the area. I can only imagine what it was like in the 60s when the fountains used to run. Nice park.

  • Chrys Tea

This is where our team has played softball for years. It's a great little sports park. Some cons: no back fence for those home run balls. There is always a team playing directly behind us, which can make it annoying and interferes with each other's games.

  • Gwyn Marie

Great dog park if your dog can handle an un-fenced environment and be under voice control. Many friendly doggies and water provided in the warmer months. Bring a jug of water in the winter months to share at the park, there is usually a bowl provided.

  • Molly Pickel

The off leash dog area is not fenced and the dogs run into the kid area. There really isn't alot of toys for kids to play on, it is also incredibly muddy even on a dry day. For being in such a beautiful area I just expected more for Woodstock.

  • Julia Montoya

Great park to go to enjoy a recreational softball game. The parking was super easy and we were able to get a spot super close to the field we were playing at. Great place to have close by and the field is taken care of really nicely as well.

  • Joe

I had a fantastic time at Woodstock Park! The park is next to Woodstock Elementary, and the abundance of space is great for various activities. The old fashioned playground brought a nostalgic charm and was a hit with both kids and parents.

  • gacha manga

Woodstock is a good place to walk. The dog people can be a little rude not sure why. I just like saying hello good after. The park is always clean the grass is a mud pit all over the park hopefully the sprinkler system is working right.

  • David Fischer

Well maintained park with many different areas to relax or exercise. Lots of dogs tend to be here. Drinking fountains work as of September 2023 and bath rooms were open however I did not go in one so I can not speak on the condition.

  • Angie Hennessy

Really nice and clean park! There were some homeless camped out on the edge, but they were behind a small building so you couldn't really see them. Just don't let your kids roam free. Other than that it was really quite lovely.

  • Krista Jackson

Great place to walk around if you like or have dogs. I take my dog there to walk the grounds and enjoy some doggie socialization.
Dog-friendliness
Off-leash dog park is great. Can be very muddy during the rainy season.

  • christine kenaston

Nice park, very big, so a lot can have their own space. Love the trees....had a few issues with unleashed dogs, but that's not the parks fault. Saw some odd activities coming out of the restrooms, so I didn't use them.

  • Hose bose

Great playground and the school playground is right next door, big off leash dog area (not fenced in), picnic tables you can rent a large group of them on concrete slab uncovered for events, water fountain, ballfield

  • Aaron Hollenbeck aka hellfire

Not bad, fairly family friendly with options ranging from walking paths to children's play structures. Good seating for lunch and stuff. Open areas for games as well as trees around the periphery for your enjoyment.

  • Noemi Metsch

Nice quite, not lots sidewalk there for HC, grass some safe walk on, other area not safe lota pine, hazelnut and pieces wood not safe for walking on. But dog wandering around nice area and lots shades!

  • Dave Barnes

Clean, friendly, the best dogpark in Portland (unfenced). I remember the Columbus Day Storm in '62 knocking down a huge weeping willow and all the neighborhood kids playing in the fortress of leaves..

  • Samantha Wikstrom

A wonderful community park. Big dog park, fun playground equipment, kickball/softball fields, tennis courts, lots of shady places for a picnic and open places to toss a frisbee around. Two thumbs up!

  • Will Ashmore

A couple different playgrounds, including the elementary school. Also, a large unfenced off leash area for dogs. This park is especially beautiful in the fall when the leaves are neon yellow and red.

  • matthew pierson

It is a nice dog park in the area. People seem nice and respectful. It's a dog park, so there can always be a little dog "drama". If you can't control your dog or your dog is aggressive...stay home.

  • Kimie Ueoka

Sorry Woodstock. I generally like most things Woodstock but this park was lackluster. I've got two kids and we were hoping for more. Nearby school has good equipment but can't use it on a weekday.

  • Ken

I attended a picnic here sponsored by ATU-757 Retiree's Chapter with approximately 200 other participants. It was a great time and the park was a perfect place with plenty of shade in the summer.

  • Phyllis Brough

Went here for a company picnic. It was a very nice day.
Restrooms
The women's restrooms were well maintained and stocked.
Picnic area
The tables were clean and the area was raked.

  • John Vanhoomissen

If you're looking for an off-leash dog park with generally responsible dog owners this is a pretty good place to give it a shot and it's so big that dogs don't feel inclined to try to escape.

  • Celeste Navrkal

It's a pretty park with open grass areas and trees around the edges more. The grass was a bit yellow or brownish at the end of August 2020 because it hasn't rained too much this summer.

  • Norman Bone

Lots of nice trees and green space. Dogs can be an issue as they tend to be very outside the off leash boundaries. Occasionally there are homeless individuals that can be aggressive.

  • El Queso

Lush city park with nice open greenspace and cool, shaded areas. Good ball fields, a splash pad, tennis courts, and playground entertainments put this into awesome park territory.

  • Laila Escareno

Best neighborhood! Best dog community! Bummed that they got rid of the old merry-go-round for this pathetic new model.... But this is still my favorite place to bring my pup.

  • Gray

Woodstock is a good place to walk around with your friends or family or just solo! It's a lovely dog park as well and there's a nice play area for people to chill around

  • Wynnifred Buzby

This was a nice little park, watching kiddos on the sports fields or dog off their leashes romping about in the designated area (mostly). Definitely nice for a picnic!

  • MaryKate Otto

This park is so welcoming to all kinds of activities. There is a walking path, a play structure, wide open spaces for groups to meet while staying social distanced.

  • Krissi Beckel

It's a good park. Unfenced off leash dog area is good, usually a good mix of people and dogs. Not a lot of nefarious activity, mostly families and dog owners.

  • Hannah Latham

Beautiful things and place and people, nothing sketchy happens over there, just a great place with a huge surface area to lay in the grass and take your kids

  • Ron Andrus

Nice open spaces with a pine trees sprinkled throughout. Pet zone for your dog to run and play. Picnic bench to enjoy some eats. Beautiful, relaxing park.

  • J / K / S

Great park to run your dog. Flat with a lot of open space. Super muddy right now. It’s late February, give it a couple of months to dry up.

  • Kelly Bennett

Beautiful green park has a tennis court and a few playground toys, nice place to go for a walk or have lunch with the ones you care about

  • Joseph Myers

love the dog park. Has great access for other arenas as well (picnic, baseball, walking). Overall, one of the nicer parks in Portland.

  • Derek Jones

I frequent this place, my dog loves it too but the tennis court could use some upgrading and homeless are here frequently as well.

  • Tyler Bell

Not a bad park. Pretty simple with a small playground and an off leash area for your dog. I'd be comfortable bringing kids here.

  • Kimberlee Kelly

Happy lil park with something for everyone. Playground, softball, tennis and a dog park(no fence) makes this place a gem More

  • John van Staveren

Great park - large enough you can do your own activity. The dog park area is not fenced but that is generally not a problem.

  • Danielle Gassmann

This park is big enough so you can have a quiet place to relax but also has a tennis court, softball field, and playground.

  • Yobani

Great open space for the doggos to run around, a little must this time of year so be sure to wear your boots and rain gear.

  • Emily Bamford

Populated park with equipment for toddlers and kids as well as large area for dogs. Dogs are allowed to be unleashed here.

  • Denis Kochik

Really beautiful but 5 bucks to get in right now with about half of it closed doesn't seem that worth with a shorter trail

  • Mike Lutz

Great little park near the Woodstock elementary school. Lots of shady areas plus two nicely maintained softball diamonds.

  • Tatjana Moffitt

Beautiful park. Playground, baseball diamond, several big fields, a place for unleashed dogs to run, and a walking path.

  • Douglas Anderson

Great park with lots of space and different activities. Park equipment is a bit on the retro side, but still functional.

  • bianca peterson

Great place to let your dog off the leash, play tennis, or take your kid to the playground. No open bathrooms right now

  • robert beistel

Peaceful. I go to sit by myself, hoping someone will come chat. Always smoking, bud, and that's why I sit alone. Lol

  • William Endicott

People were friendly, dog's well behaved, but location for dog park not ideal. Rest of the park great for families.

  • ross bauer

Huge park! A big area of grass and trees to walk around. A nice off-leash dog park with water. And sporty areas.

Great park to make friends with crows. Bring peanuts and patience. The huge white oak trees are wonderful too.

  • Ruby Bernal

I love Woodstock park to walk with my dog, there is a big area without fence where dogs can be without leash.

Not a fenced in dog park. Great wide open area with playground nearby. Nice dogs and dog owners.

  • Keizan Gus Shaffer

Beautiful park, but don't go if you don't like dogs. Off leash area means they are everywhere.

Some of the dog people are nuts. I prefer to keep to myself, otherwise it's a beautiful park.
