I've been coming here for years, referred countless friends with their pets, but this office does not seem to care about their patients in the least bit anymore. I've been trying to contact the Manager for weeks now, left several messages with the front desk, and he still hasn't responded. It's a real shame.... pre-covid, I really felt great about this place, but now it feels like the bills are just astronomical, they ask you to come in just to overcharge you for services, and the care for my pet is now sub par. Communication is horrible with this office, and the front desk staff feels robotic and insincere when you express your concerns. I can't come into the office and speak with the Vet anymore, and its nearly impossible to get answers from the vets because the front desk staff doesn't seem to get messages across. My recent issue with this place is that I brought my dog here for a skin tag issue, they told me on the phone they don't handle skin tags but do bring my pet in for an exam. Why would I need to bring her in if they don't work on skin tags? Weird...In the parking lot, the doctor came out before the exam, looked at my dog and said it's not something they take care of there, but proceeds to take my dog in anyway. The diagnosis - take her to a Dermotologist, which they already told me to do prior to this visit - and that will also cost you $75. Why charge me to tell me something I already was told - that you don't handle skin tags, but call this an "exam" just so you can collect a fee?? I called to get answers, speak to a manager, and no return calls... in nearly 3 weeks now. I shouldn't have to chase down my vet for these kind of things. Save your time and money please and go to a different Vet that gives their long time patients more courtesy and care by not charging them for doing absolutely nothing for my dog.
Listen, I get it with COVID and the safeguards. Many pet hospitals aren't allowing their clients and dogs in the building covid what is spiking, but now it's the precinct again. They need to reconsider having people wait out in their cars. I think all veterinarians need to rethink that. I hate that you are only getting a phone call from the veterinarian. Who knows if the vet was actually in the building? They could have been home. It was 7:00 a.m.; maybe they were present via telehealth. The first thing I thought was they probably didn't even see my dog. Perhaps they emailed or faxed my puppy's paperwork and then called me. The female veterinarian that I spoke with was a little bit dismissive. And she wasn't listening to what I said. They try to get you off that phone, but I'm like, this is my first visit here. I'm asking all of my questions. They were supposed to give me some estimates on a service that I'll do in a couple of months. Did I get it? No, But they sure did take my money. Although this location is convenient to my home, I may need to go back to Larchmont. I don't want to have to beg for a summary based on why I brought my puppy to the vet. I want to know what you did. I should be informed of what service was provided. This behavior doesn't engender trust in this veterinarian Clinic/hospital. Anyhow, they're a big veterinarian hospital. Open a lot of days. Long hours, but that doesn't mean that they're good.
You are risking your pet's life by going here. What a disgusting, abusive, careless excuse for a veterinary clinic. This place shows zero respect for clients and complete negligence towards our pets. You will get passed around in a sick game of telephone amongst the various unskilled front desk workers whose lack of training and decorum becomes downright malicious as they try and gaslight you when confronted. Each time you call, you will get redirected to someone who hasn't bothered to look into your pets file or check any existing communications or records. These people will literally refuse to see you after asking you to come in immediately due to an emergency they caused. They will not update your phone number on file despite being asked multiple times. Following a recently botched neuter procedure, these people failed to prescribe my dog the appropriate medication dosage, causing him to be overly active during his immediate recovery period, leading to a tear, then a hematoma, then an infection. Upon consulting a new vet, the dosage they gave my 50lb bulldog was barely appropriate for a cat. Instead of reevaluating the dosage upon our SECOND follow up visit, I was accused of failing to put my dog into a cone at all times (at no point since bringing him home had the cone come off). The dosage I was sent home with was the same. Do not let these charlatans abuse your pets. Avoid at all costs.
BE CAREFUL THESE VETS DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEIR DOING. Terrible care. This clinic looks out only for making money. Pushed unnecessary surgery after ‘abscessing’ an infected area incorrectly. Charged me for ‘abscessing’ when the vet actually me he didn’t do it. No communication between their staff and the vet techs are very rude. Had to take my dog to an emergency vet who confirmed my suspicion that the incompetent job Dr Praxton did made my dogs infection worse. Run in the other direction. Also while spending 1 hr and 48 min in there parking lot, I watched a vet tech return and animal to the wrong car (even though COVID restrictions are lifted in LA country you have to wait in the car so the staff can walk around unmasked inside chit chatting and hanging out, all which you can see through their giant windows), I saw an owner explain his dog was deaf and the tech still keep holler at the dog without changing his approach to lead him up the ramp, I heard a women in the car next to me argue loudly with a different vet about her pets care and ask for blood tests. Worst vet I’ve ever been to. I think they survive off overcharging people in Hollywood for vaccines but actually ability to practice veterinary medicine is not top priority at this clinic. Wish I read the Yelp reviews first, so many other people describing the same poor treatment and up selling behavior!
If I could give them 5+ star I would. my pup has been a loyal patient at The Veterinary Care center for over a year now. Every experience there is great. The front office staff is so friendly and warm. There has been times where I have been an anxious mess/hysterically crying and they are so sweet to always keep me and high spirits even going so far as calling in to check in on my baby Charlie's progress. This is going to be a lengthy one. My doberman is sensitive when it comes to respiratory issues, The Veterinary Care Center has alway helped her. After being Hospitalized for 3 days with pneumonia, my baby is back to her normal self and I couldn't be more than happier. I really want to express my gratefulness to EVERYONE at Veterinary Care Center. The front office for being so sweet, and knowledgeable. They really over extend themselves when it is necessary. Dr. Paxton is our primary vet and I would love to give him a big hug for easing my worries and always being transparent and thorough. My baby Charlie LOOOOVES all the staff, she always greets them with a jump and a kiss. This Vet is great, it is the only place I trust for my girl to be treated. Big Hugs to all the staff, thank you for everything you have done for my girl and I. <333
I’ve takes my cat here for an emergency teeth removal surgery. I was so scared because I had him for 8 years already without needing to do any kind of tests like this and being put under anesthesia scared me. The doctor was kind enough to show me around the back and give me a tour to the process of which my cat was going to go through the following day. It definitely gave me ease when she did that and I thanked her for her time. The surgery and cleaning went well. Boston, my cat, was home after two hours. Although it was extremely expensive and I had to pull out a credit card for the coverage, at the end did the day it was worth it for me because he wasn’t in any pain. I look forward to him coming to get a check up and some vaccines before moving out of state. I had a good experience although veterinarians make me uneasy. July 9 2020 It’s been one year since Boston had his teeth removed and I came back to get his mouth checked again since his gingivitis has returned. I was worried about my boy throwing up recently and a rash that came about on his upper lip. They were so quick even with the new Covid policies. The staff love him so much because he us such a gentle cat and I am glad they have been so trustworthy.
I really love bringing my bbygrl here. The nurses have all been friendly, obvious animal lovers, and it’s also efficient even with Covid protocols still in effect. The doctors are not pushy, will spend a lot of time communicating with you during the visit and with explicit follow up or “what’s next.” I don’t feel like I’m being pushed to do excessive tests or buy expensive products. Oh, and there’s really never a surprise with cost. Nothing is done until you know the total of the proposed treatment plan. They also usually have other options they present — with totals — that you could consider bare bones (the absolute essentials) and the other ✨extra✨ (going above and beyond, or don’t-need-but-nice-to-have). Pup comes out with a well organized summary of the visit and tentative plans on what to do next! They’re also very good at sending prescriptions to Chewy, great with doing courtesy reminder phone calls, and overall very pleasant. Price is the market rate. It’s not overly inflated. You pay solid prices for quality care.
Not a good experience here. I never received a call from the vet with the results from my puppy's fecal recheck to see if he still had giardia and roundworm. Another fail was that I had emailed them my vaccine records and they didn't update their system. But the main reason I switched vets was because I had the single worst experience at a vet clinic in my life because the receptionist I dealt with one day was unbelievably rude. She accused me of not sending vaccine records (I had - they neglected to update their system). Her tone was absolutely out of line, she was completely out of order, and if I had zero self respect I'd have told her exactly what I thought of her in the most unkind way possible. I wish I knew her name. She was AWFUL. I won't put up with a place that employs someone who treats clients like that. The sad part is other staff members are really great, but I refuse to walk in on pins and needles wondering if the receptionist from hell will be there. Save yourself the trouble.
We took our cat to get a general checkup so we could enroll her in insurance. The vet was so kind and spent so much time to do a very thorough checkup. She also took time to give some health tips on the phone. It’s not the cheapest but I will take quality over price any day when it comes to a pet. The exam was cheap. The suggested extra things not so cheap. But she felt so much better after. She is an indoor cat but we also took her for vaccines just in case. The vet said she wasn’t quite ready for them because she hadn’t had enough water or food. And advised us to remedy the situation and come back. I mean it’s a 5 pound cat who eats 3 tins of food a day and has a water fountain with bottled spring water in it. But it was good to know. Now we give her extra dry food and a second water bowl. I really appreciate the vet taking the time to evaluate her and change the plan from vaccines to what our cat baby needed.
I should have listened to the other 1 star reviews for this place, but my dog needed help urgently, so I gave them a call. My dog’s neutering stitches came loose & was infected, so ask them if they would be able to accommodate him & they said we could come by. When I arrived they said they could not accommodate him because they were not taking new patients & are fully booked. They FAILED to ask me if my dog is a returning patient & we WASTED our time at a CRITICAL moment to make the trek over there. I don’t recommend this place as their receptionist’s oversight could potentially WORSEN A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. Instead, we went over to Veterinary Emergency Group which is a 24/7 ER & a tad more expensive, but you get what you pay for. The receptionist there was extremely thorough during the check-in process & everyone we spoke with were effective & efficient with helping my dog heal.
I love this vet! They're always so personable when I call with a question or to make an appointment. I haven't had any issues with availability so far in 2 years now. I drive from SM to this vet because the staff are so good. Of course the doctors are all top-notch as well! They even have their own parking lot so that visiting with pets is very easy and convenient. They're also one of the only vets are open late, making it easy to come after work hours. They've also been handling the pandemic situation with great practices. Owners stay in their cars and call the office when they arrive. Someone from the vet picks up the pet from the car and then brings them back out when they're finished. Minimal interaction and staff are all wearing masks. Payments are taken over the phone when they call you to let you know that they are finished with your pet.
This was my 1st time here with my cat. Considering you have to wait in the car for your pet and can't attend the appointment with them (due to Covid restrictions), I was still quite impressed by their professionalism and process. They keep u posted via phone and you are still able to speak to the doctor and ask questions. It doesn't beat being right there with your anxious pet, but if they're not feeling well, that's not a comfortable feeling either. They will allow you in to use the rest room however. I was able to see the main lobby and how well kept and clean that area and the bathroom was. So all in all, although they're just as expensive as any vet (the $72 office visit fee was reasonable), they do show they care about your pet. I was impressed that Dr. Nishiyama called me later to make sure I understood the Rx for my cat.
Very impressed with the staff and their understanding of my high anxiety Malinois. We came in for a chipped tooth. The vet we saw had previous experience with working dogs and it made me feel much more comfortable. Will definitely be coming back here and also recommending to anyone in the area. You can see their entire waiting area from the parking lot which is wonderful because my dog is not great around other dogs and I was able to see how many dogs were in there before bringing her in. When I spoke with them about this they were very nice. Everything about my experience was wonderful and I am super impressed with Audrey and Dr. Kohan. Audrey is the best tech I've ever had. Thank you thank you thank you cant wait to bring in my other dog so they can both have Dr. Kohan as their regular vet.
I just want to give a huge thank you to everyone at this office - 5 years ago my dog’s liver basically failed, somehow they managed to save her and she’s still with me today - we were in today because my dog has been having chronic pancreatitis episodes (ughhhh), and once again they’ve helped us out. While at the office today I ran into a very old and good friend who has her cat in their hospital right now, yesterday she was in bad shape, while she’s nowhere near cured, today she has a bit more of a fighting chance. These guys are the best in the area. I highly recommend them. I have two dogs that have been seen by several different doctors there and all have been compassionate and amazing. Thank you thank you thank you. Ginger won’t tell you, but she appreciates it too.
I Just moved to the area and was looking for a vet because I suspected my senior cat might have a tooth issue. I could not have been happier with the whole experience here. The whole staff was so friendly, the place was beautiful and clean and there was even somebody to help hold the door when I was bringing my cat in and out. The vet we saw was so so nice and really seem to take an interest in my cat....the best part...They told me the tooth situation was elective and was not urgent printed out a cost sheet for me for when I felt ready and also suggested another place that might be cheaper. They also gave me some suggestions and kitty toothpaste to keep her healthy. I Never write reviews for anything but I was so happy with my experience here.
Update: while the vets here are good, the front desk staff has been more rude and less competent since my original review. Unfortunately, we moved from here a couple months ago. I hope things change, our mini baby loved it here and we really just want him to get the best. Original: They take very good care of our pup and the facility is always clean. Jasmine and the rest of the front desk staff are always knowledgeable and give great service. The vet's usage of Trupanion is a literal lifesaver. The vet techs and doctors (shoutout to Matt, Lo, Hollie and Jordan) are extermely knowledgeable and care so much. The pup (my nickname for our pup), Shadow, is always well taken care of here
The most incompetent receptionists. For the third time in a row, this clinic tells us they are going to call into the pharmacy so we can pick up our dogs medication, they never do it and end up leaving our epileptic dog without his medication. We have to repeatedly remind them and even then they fail to purely call in, putting our dogs life in serious risk without his anti seizure medication. It’s really not that hard to pick up the phone and dial the same pharmacy that we have always used. Side note, they don’t let you in with your dog, and pretty much always have you on hold for an extended period of time. They’re lacking basic professionalism and organizational skills.
Amazing team and very beautiful place. Looks more like a spa. Sandy was amazing explaining how everything was going to be done and made me feel at ease leaving my baby with them instead of going inside the office with her as usual (because of covid). She performed some dental work on my cat and called the next day to ask how she was doing. I love that she speaks Spanish. Jose the manager was also amazing days before on the phone when I got the appointment for her. When they finished, Collin came out and explained the post care and was very sweet. You can tell how much they all love what they do. I have health insurance for my cats so I can take them to the best place.
I have been taking my pets here for years and they have been wonderful. Their facilities are clean and comforting and everyone from the admin to the techs to the vets are so friendly and great at their jobs. There has never been a time when my and my pets needs haven’t been accommodated. Prices are competitive and care is exceptional. Most recently, Dr. Nishiyama worked with me to diagnose my dog’s rare disease very quickly and thoughtfully. I can’t speak highly enough about VCC.
This place is seriously amazing! They are taking amazing care of our cat. The people who work there are awesome, they genuinely care, and they are extremely thorough, and friendly. They call us with every update, and they are doing everything they can to make our little guy feel better. It is a little expensive, but every vet is, and at this place, you are absolutely getting your money's worth. We will never stop coming here. This is our new forever-vet! :)
This Veterinary Care Center will look for any opportunity to take your money and only sees your pets as money-making machines. Jasmine, at the front desk, is condescending and does not care about you or your pets. She is rude and rushes you off the phone. I have had terrible encounters with her. I suggest thinking twice before trusting this place and giving in to the tons of expenses they recommend each time, to take care of your pets. BE AWARE!
I truly cannot say how grateful I am for the VCC. Unfortunately (because of my cats condition) I’ve more recently had to make more visits but every single time I am there the staff is extremely kind (love Michelle), helpful and empathetic. They are very honest and upfront and care about their clients. They have made a very stressful situation better and I feel at ease knowing they are treating my baby. Could not recommend enough.
Have been going here for 6 years with 2 of my dogs, the last time I went there they cut my dogs nails too short, they gave my dog back with blood pouring from her paws,I was obviously upset by this,I confronted the tech but it ended up in a heated debut as they don’t take responsibility for what had happened causing my dog more trauma. They now ban me from there, great customer service lol.
Their hours say they are open on Sunday. I called them to see if I could do a walk in or if I need to make an appointment. I told them I have a pitbull with an ear infection and can I can come in today. They told me they are not taking any new clients. Whaaat?? How ridiculous is that? A business that doesn’t want more business? Very strange. (It’s probably bc I have a pit bull.)
I can't tell you how many times I've brought in my little fur baby to get taken care of by these wonderful people. I feel comfortable and at ease, because they truly listen to you concerns and they don't pressure you into doing anything you don't want to. They no longer accept Wells Fargo Health Advantage, but either way, thank you for your services, you are appreciated.
We have used this vet since moving to the LA area and we love it here. They've helped us when we were panicking about bloody stool for one dog, and general checkup and care for the other. They even had some great advice and helped us with training tips and with a prescription for our high-anxiety dog. They are always professional and friendly when we see them.
CONFIRMED: They are not taking any new patients at the moment. We took our dog here because he was sick, it’s Sunday, and his regular vet is closed. Even though they turned us away they were very gracious and kind. They gave us suggestions of other places to take our dog. We recommend if you’re in the same situation to go to a 24hr emergency vet in your area.
I was referred to them from another vets office. My puppy has been sick, and after listening to me describe his symptoms, the operator said she would check with her colleague. Another woman came back to the phone and rudely stated “we’re not seeing anymore new clients!” Unbelievably rude and insensitive. I will NEVER use their services!
I took my beloved dog in on a Thursday and, after a lot of blood work was told he just had indigestion and would be fine. I was given pain meds and appetite pills. The next morning he was worse I called and was told that it was my Vet's day off and they didn't think they could get another to give me a call back. He died that evening
The Veterinary Care Center has treated our little ones so well! Can't thank Dr. Robbins and Dr. Goldman enough for their care and compassion for our little dogs and cats. And all of their assistants and staff only accent what is wonderful about the whole place. If you love your pets, you will love the Veterinary Care Center!
This place always does a great job at fitting in emergencies. Our cat was experiencing pain and discomfort. Called, made a same day appointment. You wait in your car and a friendly technician comes to get your pet. After vet does exam, you get a call. Dr. Amezcua was friendly, helpful and answered all questions.
Tried to make an appointment. The rep I spoke with said they have availability tomorrow. She asked for my contact info to pull up my file. I told her I’d never been there. She said they can’t take me because I’m new and they’re not seeing new patients. I asked why, as that seemed discriminating. She hung up.
This is the classy joint. They seem to stay open really long hours so they obviously care a lot about animals. They have a good size parking lot with a security guard that watches all the cars and yet opens the door for you like a doorman
I can't thank this place enough. My cat was having issues urinating, I took him elsewhere and no one wanted to take him due to pandemic, and because they are only servicing "emergencies only". They really took great care of my 2 year old
Idk where to even begin w these guys but definitely not using them ever again. Like all the comments besides me I'm not blind to the fact that its a business, but like every business there should be a level of professionalism, the team
They have always taken amazing care of my baby. She is paralyzed and they are very accomadting and really know how to work with special animals. Their vaccination prices are cheaper than petco and they are very upfront about all charges
This is easily the only place you should go to get your pets looked after. The doctors, nurses and staff will treat you and your pets with the utmost compassion and care. They will spend the time to talk to you, and answer all of your
I honestly can't be more grateful for this place. I ran hysterically into the Vet because my dog was choking on some rice and couldn't breathe. They were incredibly quick and responsive to get her hooked up to IV and oxygen and didn't
They have a pretty smooth system. They immediately took our pup in an emergency to get at least his vitals, and then referred us to a few emergency pet hospitals. Generally fairly priced and I always feel like my pup is in good hands.
Spent about an hour in the car outside during an appointment for my cat and had an estimate made for surgeries only to be told that the doctor made a mistake and the info/estimate was all wrong. Called to check in for surgery the day
I absolutely loved the service here. easy drop off, wait in the parking lot, then they bring your pet back to you and you go on about your day. very sweet staff, it’s awesome to see them great with all the animals.
I’ve only ever had great experiences with this place, I’ve been going here even before they moved to their new location. Everyone is very friendly, it’s a very popular and busy vet so if they can’t get
Recently went, I must say they showed my dog such care and love it was amazing! They made sure she was comfortable before anything! Truly amazing! I'm beyond happy she has a happy safe comfort place.
Very friendly, thorough, and also they were patient with me picking up my kitten♡ plus I found out HER gender! :) definitely a great choice. Also the building is modern and plenty of parking!
Great place to take your dog or cat to. Staffs are very attentive and the doctors are good as well. Place is clean and well maintained. VCC opens early and closes late.
I have been going to them since a year and I have had great experience. They are quick and efficient and prices are very reasonable too . Highly recommend
Super helpful, clean, and accommodating. Reasonably priced and a one stop shop, no need to go elsewhere for prescriptions. Recommend!
They definitely care for their patients. I wouldn't bring the Disaster Panthers anywhere else.
Great VET center. Staff is nice, good care taken for all kinds of pets.
