First (and last) major purchace with West Elm. My experience has so far been no different than previous reviews. The company is obviously above providing quality service to their customers. The B2B service group just flat out does not respond. You will get a letter stating your application and documents have been received and that the approval process takes 24-48 hrs. Then never hear from them again, dispite reaching out for status by email multiple times. Phones calls show the same lack of service. Next problem involved an order for a sofa to stage a home. Bad decsion! We placed the order in anticipation of receiving the design firm discount as my husband is a registered architect. We were told to go ahead and place the order to get it in que and the discount would be applied once approved. We were then told by the b2b team that they don’t retro back price adjustments. Also during this time, the sofa went on sale for $400 less than we paid!! The item hadn’t moved from their warehouse so we asked for a price adjustment. They declined. We asked to cancel the order and that we would order a new one at the discounted price. They declined and said the order couldn’t be canceled. What??? We tried to cancel it on line and received the same message. At this point, we are couchless, and have paid $500 more than we should have with the sale price and the 5% designer discount. Oh and get this…we asked to speak to a supervisor and was left on hold for an hour and a half. When the rep finally checked back in, she said that the supervisor instructed her to tell us she was busy with other customers (I bet!) and that there would be no price match, no cancelation, and that we would have to call b2b to discuss the wait time on the designer discount application. (Which we had already done and had told the rep as such.) We asked to have a supervisor call us back at which point the representative said that they don’t do that. So 2 hrs later, we have been denied the opportunity to talk with a supervisor, are still couchless, have paid $500 more than we should have, and are still waiting on the design firm discount which won’t even help us now anyway. The company clearly has no concern nor do they want to help with any issues they’ve caused once they have your money. And now judging by other reviews, we may be waiting several months beyond the promised delivery date. **take me off your mailing list, West Elm. I won’t be buying your products anymore.
UODATE 9/15/23: This location is STILL ignoring non-white customers. No greeting. No offers to help. Saw them greeting only when Caucasian customers. West Elm has really nice furniture, but there is something seriously wrong with the management and employees at this location. My first time at this location, I wanted to buy a coffee table and 2 end tables. There were signs all over the store saying the end tables and coffee tables were 20% off. When I told an employee (a manager, it turns out) that I wanted the end tables, he took the sign off of them, and said they weren't really 20% off... they had just forgotten to take down the sign. The problem, is, that wasn't the only, or even the biggest, sign with the sale... they were ALL over the store. The manager said the tables were on sale over the weekend (this was a Tuesday) but they weren't on sale anymore, but he would give me the sale price. Unfortunately... they were out of stock, would have to order the tables, and because they were on back order, it could take 6 weeks for the tables to ship... AND I'd have to pay full price, and wait for the 20% refund once I received the tables. He seemed genuinely irritated when I said I wanted the tables and agreed to his super-complex plan. This was NOT an enjoyable experience. The next bad experience I had here was when I went with my husband (who is native american... AKA brown-skinned). We were looking around, and the store managers (2 of them) who were on the floor made a point of asking every customer who came in the store whether they needed any help. These store managers appeared to intentionally avoid us in favor of older, whiter customers. It wasn't until we were on our way out the door, when they were both standing by the entrance, that they decided to say "Goodbye, have a nice day!". How sweet of them both to watch us leave and thank us for leaving, while following us around the store while we were there, and saying nothing. In short, the management staff at this location come across as arrogant, rude, unhelpful, unapologetic and unwilling to recognize that they need to improve how they treat people.... especially non-white people.
West Elm generally has nice stuff. The store was not a great experience. It was difficult to get any employees to acknowledge I was alive and felt like a jackass trying to get help from the various employees milling about not looking very busy or interested in helping me. So I went home and decided to order online. I needed some information about the couch I was ordering and saw in the store so I called to ask. At that point, I spoke with Susie who was very nice and helpful. She suggested I come into the store and she would help me out with the numerous furniture items I wanted to purchase. I did. She was friendly after I explained who I was. Ordered a number of items through her. All downhill from there. The dining table I bought was out of stock shortly after I placed my order. I had already assembled the coffee table I had purchased to match with it. Despite the coffee table's wobbly legs I didn't want the hassle of returning. Items delivery dates constantly changed. Next week to next month then "probably November." I had to cancel a few items after being too frustrated when delivery dates kept getting pushed, and when for one item I was told no new expected delivery date was available, it was the last straw. I also had to wait on hold for over an hour to cancel my order. On a Monday afternoon. I will never give West Elm another dime. They give you the run around when it comes to actually receiving items you order. If I had not called to schedule my delivery who knows how long it would have taken, despite being told at the store I would receive a call with my delivery date as soon as each item was available. I am happy with my sofa and Roar & Rabbit bedroom furniture but the business practices suck and I would much rather shop elsewhere. Don't bother buying anything from them if you don't want to spend your time waiting, getting jerked around and treated like a jackass as you wait to actually receive your order.
Simply put, Jonathan Price (Sales Associate) is an outstanding human. He really goes out of his way to ensure that you feel comfortable with whatever it is that your planning on purchasing. He’ll even move around furniture in the store for you so that you can get a visual understanding of your imagination! You got a question, he’s got an answer. Cool dude. Also wanted to give a shout out to Duncan Frantz, the General Manager. Such a cool, calm and collective dude. He’ll definitely assist you in whatever it is that your interested in and won’t pressure you into getting things you don’t need. I appreciate your assistance, Duncan. As for the store, so aesthetically pleasing in there. I could walk around for hours in there and not get tired of it. It’s clean, well organized and smells great. Most of the negative reviews that I’m seeing people post on here are out of the stores hands. Shipping, shipping, shipping. That’s all I’m hearing. I’m sure that when you sit down with these fine people, they TELL you of the shipping dates and that if it’s delayed shipping due to high demand or that logistics is going through a tough time at the moment, than that’s on the customer. Understand that! Be flexible. Before coming to these types of stores, have a plan and have patience. This isn’t something you can just walk in and walk out in a matter of minutes. Especially if what your looking for is what everyone else is looking for! Anyways, attached pictures for your viewing pleasure! Have a great day.
Edit: Originally, this was a one star review and you can read it below. However, I have since changed this to 3-stars only because I spoke to someone who worked by the shipping/storage and he was the most helpful out of anyone else. To date, no one followed up with me (managers and everyone else who I spoke to) with exception of this last gentleman. He expedited a piece all the way from TX and someone was kind enough to deliver it to my door and pick up the defective one. All-in-all I am happy but wish it had gone smoother. I am taking off two stars as a result of the massive headache involved and getting my item and for being bounced around from manager to manger and clueless employees at this location. OLD REVIEW: If the item is available for pickup, do it BUT avoid ordering from this store at all costs. The employees who work here do not return calls or handle customer service at their best. Long story short, I waited WEEKS for a console to arrive which was promised to arrive in 3-5 business days. 90% installed, the legs which came with the unit were defective. Now it is more painful than pulling a wisdom tooth to get someone to help me. Marc who is the store manager said he'd call back but still hasn't so just think for a moment -- if the store manager doesn't do as he says, imagine the low level employees below him. I'm done with West Elm! Avoid at all cost...
I absolutely LOVE west elm as a brand. I shop this company before I go elsewhere. Sadly, this storefront location in Mission Valley is the absolute worst ! I have never had a good experience here and it’s unfortunate that this is the only location close enough to my house. I come here to see & feel the items I find online and usually I special order or buy what’s in stock at the store. Today, I walked in and there was an employee fixing some displays by the door. He looked me dead in the eyes and walked away. No “hello”. No “hey, welcome in”. Nothing. Twenty minutes went by as I wandered through the store, looking at sofas, chairs, bedding, bed frames on display. I even browsed the fabric section where you can custom order furniture. There were several employees walking around. Some of them even standing their talking about their lunch. Not one of them ever came to speak to me or ask if I wanted assistance. It was weird, so I left. Sadly for them, I was prepared to purchase a bed (avg retail $2,500), an accent chair and some new bedding! But will be ordering online now. Also i should note: The store seemed pretty slow today, so you think they would have been more eager to make a sale. Even if it was just a few pillows and a quilt. SMH.
Staff is pleasant and easy to work with. Our gripe is with the company and their processes and quality of their product. Decent design but extremely low quality material and craftsmanship. Overpriced shipping policy is terrible, whereby you are essentially forced to pay for anything and everything not immediately available on store shelves. You even have to pay for shipping when ordering at the store for items on display but not in stock. Shipping lead times are just as bad. We ordered a buffet, not in any kind of back order, and had to wait over three months to receive it. The cheap paper thin veneer was faded. We called customer service for a replacement, which took another two months to arrive. The second buffet arrived damaged and in worse condition. Again, the company arranged for a third shipment that took months to arrive. The third buffet was damaged with doors that wouldn't slide open and dings throughout. Again, we called customer service and got a "we will call you back" response but never heard back. Every time they drop off a defective item to our home we are constantly having to call them and take on the task of chasing them. This company has no follow through or commitment to their customers.
I'll start by saying everyone at the store was pleasant, but I purchase two chairs and had problems with each. Unfortunately, since West Elm has no play to review products, I have to put it here and blame the store. First, the Cooper Midcentury Office Chair. Very stylish. $500. Also within three months is wobbly and so squeaky that I have to mute teleconferences if I move. It's horrible. I'm rocking side to side in it now, which I'm certain is not an intended feature. When I emailed West Elm, they said it's not under any warranty and past the return date. So I have a $500 chair that I'm ready to just throw away in 3 months. Second really is on the store. I bought an upholstered arm chair and when I got it home saw the upholstery in the front was sliced open. They returned it without issue, but yes, I had to transport it myself. They even admitted the warehouse should have inspected it with me before I took it, and that was never offered. I'm really happy with the replacement and I wouldn't have mentioned that frustration except that I was already here to complain about the absurdly garbage office chair so I may as well air all my laundry. I'll never buy from West Elm again.
I can't take it anymore. I booked the table six months ago, and it finally shows up on the website that it will arrive at our house around 7:30 this morning. I woke up at 4:30 am in case I missed time. Keep waiting for them... . Wait until 9:30 am when the website says it's delivered. We called the after-sales service, they told me they dropped at the yard. I was wondering did you guys fly into my house? My house have a gate and I paid extra fee for installation. When I called later, they said that the deliveryman had pressed the wrong information, which caused the website to show delivered and told us it was on its way. After waiting again, they told us that the table were damaged and we need to wait for the next one more month. I do not know which story is true and I don't know what kind of company this is, desks and chairs can't be shipped together, because their goods are not in the same place. I need to pay three different express fees, the table and chairs costs have been paid to them in six months ago. I have no words for them, I regret buying their products and accepting such service. This is insane!!!
I’ve just had a pretty frustrating experience with the team at West Elm Mission Valley. We purchased a dining table last month and went to pick it up today. The warehouse gentlemen helped us load it into the van that we borrowed and brought it home. Upon arrival we discovered that the cement top was cracked in half down the center back of the table and was bleeding up both sides. I spoke with Carla at the store and explained our situation, the only suggestion she gave was for us to find a way to transport the 200 lb table back to the store and wait for our replacement to arrive. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for West Elm to offer to deliver the new table and pick up the damaged table from our home. Not only are we having to wait a few more weeks for a table that is in tact, but you don’t feel valued or heard at all when a major store like West Elm makes you feel like it is not their problem or concern that we now have to deal with their mistake. This is our lesson, shop where you feel like the company is doing everything they can to keep your business and loyalty.
West Elm has the absolute worst customer service for a furniture chain of this magnitude. We ordered a couch Memorial Day, was supposed to arrive in July. No big deal, we understood supply chain issues. In August, still no couch. Started following up, they scheduled delivery. Called to confirm was told actually the delivery was cancelled and only 2 of 3 pieces of our sectional arrived. Had to reorder a left arm chaise that was missing. Wait another 3 months. Delivery scheduled for this morning and we received two left arm chaises and a right arm chaise and no middle piece… come to find out, they think the original was labeled wrong but they’re not sure and it will take probably another 3 months for this piece to come. We’re ready to send the whole thing back and cancel. I’ve never in my life dealt with such incompetence and lack of common sense in my life. We will NEVER order from west elm or Williams Sonoma ever again. And I will tell every single person who asks that I absolutely do not recommend them.
We ordered a coffee table which stated a flat rate delivery would include white glove service. Considering we paid the delivery fees of $50 combined, we understood that this would be delivered with white glove service. The site was unclear on the delivery of our item that it would actually need to be assembled ourselves. If we had known, trust me we would not have ordered and would've taken ourselves to Ikea instead. We opened the box to find that there were eaten and spit out sunflower seeds inside the box. It is absolutely disgusting especially during a pandemic. This was my FIRST order with West Elm and left a horrible impression. When I called customer service, all she said was sorry? Not sure what to help you here with. I believed this to be a premium brand which is why we were excited but this is poor service and experience.
Went in store to pay for a Jensen Desk in early February (paid $320 as there was a 25% off special). Paid with my card and got a delivery estimate for April. April came by and my card got attempted to be charged again and the shipment pushed to June. Filed a complaint with the bank and the bank filed in West Elm's favor (after 90 days of waiting). The desk's delivery date is now pushed until July and William's Sonoma staff is useless in cancelling the order and giving a refund. William's Sonoma is claiming I never got charged but hey, I did get my 3% back gift card for the purchase through their key rewards program; how do you explain that? The bank believes a big corporation and I'm out of a desk or 346 dlls. My whole house is furnished by William's Sonoma and West Elm... take that for brand loyalty.
So, I just want to counterbalance all the negative reviews on here. Now, my experience here wasn’t absolutely stellar, but it was definitely good. I appreciated the fact that staff weren’t breathing down my throat, but it probably had more to do with the fact that they were all pretty busy. However, when I did ask for help, I did eventually get someone to help me who wasn’t extremely bubbly or anything, but she did a great job of helping me find exactly what I wanted. I wanted a very specific set of bowls that weren’t on display in the store. She looked them up, found some in the stockroom and ordered some more for me online. All in all, it was a great experience and I got what I wanted from my visit. I look forward to coming back :)
If you're prepared to endure extensive delivery delays, consider purchasing from West Elm. I visited their store on July 29th and made several purchases, including a couch, a bed, a coffee table, and a nightstand. They initially promised delivery by mid-August. However, I received no order updates until mid-September, prompting me to contact them. They informed me that all items were available for delivery except the bed, which wasn't ready. I agreed to receive the other items, but on the delivery day, the coffee table lacked its stone top, arriving with only the base. As of today, October 25th, I still have no updates on the bed or coffee table. This experience was highly disappointing, and I won't be shopping at West Elm again.
The store sales reps were great. Super nice and attentive. However, waiting for the delivery, the dates kept getting pushed back as well as the delivery times on the delivery date. Not only that, but when we finally received our couch, the delivery guys kindly pointed out there was blue staining on our off white couch. The company quickly called me, but only offered 15% off since they don’t make this couch anymore. Why would they deliver a blue stained couch to begin with? We wanted a replacement since we have been waiting several months, but they didn’t offer any other solutions. So we waited several months only to received a stained blue couch that was taken away. We are couchless once more. We are never shopping here again…
I found a side table online and wanted to pick it up in-store for various reasons. I did not see the option online so I called customer service. I was told that they did not have a free ship to store option, it was “reduced”. For what i wanted to purchase that amounted to less than a $5.00 difference. Why would they charge a customer to ship to their own store? In order to do this, I needed to contact the store to see if they would agree to accept this item (why not?). I would then need to go back to pay in person because they do not take orders over the phone (why not?). After waiting the 5-6 day delivery timeline, I would need to go back to the store to pick up my items. Too much hassles, looking at other sites.
Terrible Customer Service! I went in last night to purchase two gifts and I was in the store for 30 minutes and no one even said hello. When I selected my items and went to the desk to pay, the sales guy was too busy on his personal cell phone to even bother acknowledging me. When I asked if someone could ring me up, another male sales associate that was sitting at the desk in the back told me that they had a "call off" that night? What??? No, what should have happened is he should have apologized and offered to ring up my purchase or the other guy should have hung up his personal call and assisted me and the other customers. I left without buying anything. The worst part is they could have cared less. Awful.
Horrible company. Ordered furniture that kept getting delayed. Finally was able to schedule a delivery and it got canceled without someone notifying me. A week later they still aren’t able to reschedule my delivery and cannot locate my item in the warehouse. I’ve called 3 times and keep being told I’ll be contacted in a few days then nothing. For the price you pay for designer furniture I expect a higher level of organization and customer service. The same situation happened with a couch ordered from pottery barn so this review is based on the company as a whole. Invest in your company’s software and customer service!!! I’d rather order from Wayfair to avoid a bad experience.
I bought a sofa at west elm in mission valley I like the sofa but when asked what style legs I want for my 1,000 dollar sofa I was not informed that it would would be an extra one hundred dollars for the legs . Really? Who sells a sofa without legs? I wanted to purchase the matching chair and I told the sales associate I would return only to find out that the chair is only available online. The chair would have to be custom made and would take three months If I had that information from the start I would never have bought their sofa. The service felt manipulative and unfriendly I would never buy from them again stay away from West Elm
Ordered 2 couches. One was backordered, the other was available. We scheduled delivery of the available one, kept checking the order status and it kept saying delivery looked on-time. The day of the delivery nobody shows up. We check the order status and it shows no delivery scheduled. We spend an hour on the phone and find out the couch is no longer in stock and is backordered another 4 months. They claim to have left a voicemail the day before the order but none is to be found. The person on the phone advises us to "go to another furniture store and find a sofa you like then call us back to cancel the order." A+ customer service!
We had a really exceptional experience shopping at West Elm. Kelsey went above and beyond the usual as far as customer service. We purchased several pieces of furniture and needed help locating discontinued bedside tables from other stores to complete our bedroom set. Kelsey would not be deterred, and continued to call store after store until we found the very last table in the company. She was very knowledgable about products, their durability, construction, and helped us utilize our discount to maximize savings. We have been very happy with our purchases and our time spent in the store as well. Thank you, Kelsey!
After reading all the bad reviews, I was kind of excited to go here just to see if it was that bad. We opted to go to this one instead of the West Elm withh better reviews in Solonada because we were in the area and hey, if anything we can just check out the furniture and go to the other one later or online to order. We got there shortly after it opened and were greeted within a few minutes by Carla who treated us very well and helped us explore our options on the type of couch we were looking for. Pleasantly surprised and happy that our experience was a positive one. Thanks Carla.
I could not be more disappointed with West Elm. I have ordered two Stria bed sets and both of which have arrived well past the date that I was told it would be delivered. I'm then told to call customer service where I speak with someone that clearly has zero power to do anything and will not allow me to speak with a supervisor. It's like she was trained to give me the runaround. It's incredibly disappoint because I've furnished much of my house with West Elm item but clearly my business is of no value to them.
I recently visited this store to get a few new pieces of furniture for my apartment. Nia, Duncan, and Jose were incredibly helpful through the process and worked diligently to see if the pieces I wanted were in stock, as well as offering their creative opinion on which pieces would flow the best together. While their store might have a reputation for being more pricey, the service I received from these individuals was enough to make me come back again very soon. Can't recommend them enough. Thank you guys.
The worst place to buy furniture, I bought a Dinning table by $1700 from them, the lady in cashier told me the delivery will cost you $295, I found that's too much decided to pick up from the store by my self, next day I went there I found the cost if you buy over $999 is only $95!!! Then I have to be contacted by the delivery company for 4 days no body called me till I keep calling them to get my table. very bad customer service all the staff should send home if you have a true manager.
This is not really a review of the place BUT they are affiliated with Pottery Barn. I used a specific designer from Pottery Barn when I bought some furniture from them and when I found a couch I liked at West Elm I asked her (the Pottery Barn designer) if she could do the ordering for me...She said she could. That is how the company knows the designers are being utilized. Anyway...I never had the best thought on West Elm customer service either. This way I bypassed them.
Be warned.....When they say item is not available for pickup, they mean item is not available AT ALL!! Your item will be on back order...guaranteed. First, they will send you an email saying shipping has been delayed. A few weeks later, it becomes, Sorry... your item has been back ordered, and they have no idea when it’s coming or even Where it’s coming from.... or.... here’s the best part..... Where it’s even made!!! If I could give them Zero stars I would.
I ordered a custom couch which was supposed to be ready in 6-8 weeks. It is over 12 weeks now and still no couch. I was told it was ready to be delivered, only to be told that there were no openings for a delivery slot at the present!!!!!!!! Still waiting. Never again. The managers at West Elm never returned my calls when they promised they would, and I have spent hours on the phone attempting to find out what is happening. Very unhappy.
Without fail, a disaster of a customer service experience each and every time I convince myself to shop at this location. Browsing, buying, returning, finding someone to ask questions all a painful and frustrating experience at this store. If i didn’t love West Elm stuff so much I’d vow never to spend another dollar with the company, but I’m weak so i have at least sworn never to set foot into this particular location again.
Went in to look at a furniture piece, found it with no pricing, nobody was out on the floor to help so I waited in the checkout line for a price. The first person couldn't or wouldn't help, passed me off back to someone at the registers who could confirm it was on sale but needed to find the price, another phone call and check with someone else later we finally got the price. Overall disappointing support from their staff.
Terrible experience. Came in, and asked for some assistance in narrowing down a selection of a sofa and a bed. After 4-5 minutes the manager that was helping me told me the phone was ringing too much and the store was to busy to help me. I should come back another day. This place is the perfect example of ruining the retail experience for consumers. I highly suggest shopping elsewhere or even driving to another West Elm.
Went to West Elm for the first time today looking for a coffee table. Was completely ignored by the entire staff! There were at least 6 people on the floor and two behind the counter and not one person greeted me or even asked if I needed help finding something. I notice the reviews all say the same thing. Not sure how this location stays in business, unless it is from online business. Will not be returning.
Didnt make a purchase yet because whooooo they are expensive, but already in love with like 3000 different products and will be back when I actually have money to buy all the bedding and maybe a desk lol. Would recommend though, especially if you care where your belongings come from and how people are treated when making them. I was thoroughly impressed with how well their staff knew their products.
Interesting and often stylish furniture and furnishings, West Elm is also quite expensive resulting in a lower overall value rating. Sales are infrequent and short-lived. Worse, if it's not in stock you have to pay just to have it delivered to the store (and even more to have it delivered to your house). Who does that in a sales environment where free delivery is common??
Jonathan is a superstar, hes great to work with, patient, committed to the customer and had vast knowledge of seasonal stock. He goes out of his way making calls and checking website info and never showed a wink of impatience at any of my requests. I have never had better service in my life, seriously!! I will be a regular customer with people like him at west elm!
Incredible store. The team is simply THE BEST!! Susie, Brian, and Duncan are spectacular people!! Aside from being amazing designers with impecable taste, and super knowledgeable, they are also kind, patient, and super friendly. We had an amazing time with them and we bought a lot of beautiful stuff. The rest of the team were lovely as well. Thanks to all!!
I’ve visited this store four times since I moved to San Diego last year. Some of the other reviewers’ remarks about poor customer service and lack of acknowledgement have been true in my experiences. I ended up purchasing similar styled furniture from another store down the road, no biggie it’s all mass-produced right? My experience there was much better.
DO NOT TRUST their delivery estimates even if it mentions "In Stock" and be ready for long delivery times. I understand the current supply chain situation but what I can't understand is getting four different answers depends who you talk to. Store rep, customer, shipment or scheduling support. This is not a supply chain issue but bad customer experience
Ordered a table March 16th - delivery promised by April 15. Then delivery pushed to April 30. Now notified delivery by June 4th. I asked for consideration to waive the delivery charge since I’ve been more than patient in receiving my table but was told they could not do that. Very disappointed in West Elm and considering canceling my order all together.
Once again a wonderful experience at W.E and this time with "Marc", He was able to accommodate my needs and got my marble table in one piece inside the truck after a long wait :) I am very pleased with the service but mostly with the wonderful experience and the superb service. They always go above and beyond with me and i will be coming to buy more.
I had two bad furniture purchase experience with West elm. Awful customer service, the quality of furniture is very defective, and west elm always overpriced their furnitures. I would not recommend anyone to purchase furniture there unless you wanna waste your money and time. Stay away from West elm !!
I ordered a table, and I waited 2 month to get it. After that frame time while checking online I saw that they pushed the delivery day in another month without even notify me by email. They are charging a high price so you assume you are getting a good customer service in return...very disappointing!
All i have to say is never order made to order curtains from west elm. It has been 4 months and the delivery date has been pushed out 3 times with absolutely no explanation. Thank god i didnt order a sofa!!! Whatever happened to this store? It used to be great store, now.....not so much. Bummer.
Do NOT buy furniture here!!!!!!!!The delivery is alway delay!!!!!! If you want to cancel no shipping is refunded !!!!!!!!I have been waiting for a month, but had been told need one more month, even after one more month, they have no idea when it can be delivery. You need to wait forever!!!
We just had a beautiful wedding shower, and were showered with West Elm credit. Kira was an amazing help, and guided us through the process step by step on how to properly purchase what we wanted. Great experience, and looking forward to coming back to purchase more. Great job Kira
Stylish furniture. Ended up not seeing anything we wanted, but some items we might come back for in future. More expensive than Ashley, Jerome’s etc, but affordable for more stylish furniture. Seemed like everything could be customized. Clean store. Nice location in Mission Valley.
I had an amazing experience at west elm. Jose is such a talented, enthusiastic designer. He was so patient helping me design (and re-design) a challenging studio space and the end result is beautiful and sophisticated. Many thanks and kudos to the west elm in Mission Valley!
Came in excited to shop in this location. Had to make a quick bathroom stop and was so appalled at the dirty condition it turned me off. If they can’t clean a toilet, why other gross things are behind the scenes? I’ll stick with Solana Beach location where the staff rocks.
Literally the worst.. items come messed up. They tell you white glove service will include assembly then you get it all and they don’t assemble anything... people working at this particular place are not good at their job. Constantly hiring new people. Stay away!!!!!!!
This is a great store and staffed with some very helpful people. While most of the furniture is sized for condo or apartment homes, and too small for my needs, there are great in-between pieces that work well anywhere. Lighting an knick knacks are stylish and modern.
Dates of delivery keep getting pushed back. Waiting five months for some pieces, and in the meantime, West Elm has thousands of dollars of our money! Is this even legal ? Other businesses only charge a deposit!! I definitely would NOT recommend this business. …
I want my entire home with West Elm product. Great service. I would be happy working for this company. Great designs, great prices!!! It's one my favorite companies in furniture design since I first discovered it in 2000 working for a design firm in South Beach.
In the Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma family, West elm is much more trendy. There are plenty of knowledgeable associates to help you and explain the process in ordering furniture. They even have a program where stylists can help you design your spaces. For free!
Called to ask for info. On a furniture piece I saw on their floor. They put me on hold then they hung up on me after waiting. Incredible customer service. You will be disappointed! Perhaps your team needs to be trained on phone etiquette at the very least.
I haven't shopped there before but after reading reviews, I think I'll pass. Does anyone from West Elm read these. Time to take a look at costumer service. There are a number of places to buy from and it seems that your staff doesn't value the client.
If you're looking for great customer service, it's a gamble. A couple of sales people were nice, but knowledge was lacking. Just got off the phone with another and she basically cut me off and hung up on me. I guess they don't care to make sales.
I prefer to shop via the magazine and only go in when I need to see something in person. I am always amazed at how many employees are in there just wondering about and none of them stop to ask if I need help or greet me when I walk in the door.
I was verbally assaulted at the Mission Valley store by a sales associate, Thomas. I have never experienced anything like this and am shocked that any customer service organization would employ someone with no customer service skills.
I don’t understand these ratings. The employees are present and helpful with out being pushy. The furniture is beautiful and well made. They have designers that can help you with your purchases. I would highly recommend this store.
I totally agree with the previous comments about staff. They made eye contact, no greeting and no offers for assistance. They relaxed on the furniture all while I walked around the store searching for the right size sectional.
Haven't been in a West Elm store in ages, so was pleased to find this one. However, no one greeted me when I came in and there was no one to ask process on several items that were not marked. I was totally ignored!
Amazing store with quality products and excellent customer service. The visual team is the true heart beat of this store. Honestly the visual merchandiser with excellent hair colors deserves a raise and promotion
Brilliant, Brian saved us after shopping for furniture at three other major retailers with no luck. He was a design guru and had us all set in a couple hours. We were able to furnish or entire home. Thank God!
After Madmen mid-century modern furniture is all the rage, and West Elm has a great selection. Their displays do a good job showing how to setup the perfect Don Draperequse office or living room.
A desk, ordered in September, that was supposed to be delivered in October, then November, arrived today. No delivery notice, no communication. I already bought a desk. Returning immediately.
Terrible service. We ordered a sofa that was delivered in the wrong color. After several mails, visits to the store, finally they delivered the right sofa after 6 months of the order
"Built to last", but the stitching comes undone. And even if it's under a year old, that's considered "normal wear and tear". If you're gonna spend money go to a quality company.
Visited in Conjunction with Airbnb. Very nice furniture store with designers is how an old guy would describe it. They have new and modern words and things, go check it out!!!
No one there to help. Every worker looks unhappy to work there. Wait for 15 mins and then told me curtains are not customizable while all the samples are hanging there.
Nobody helped me. They looked me up and down and went on with their business. I have excellent credit but felt uncomfortable there so I went to Crate and Barrel instead
Carla and Marc were wonderful. They helped us with trade issues we were experiencing. They gave us the attention we needed. Carla is a shinning star. We will return.
Really helpful staff at this location - Cory in particular was instrumental in helping me get the perfect final piece for a sectional listed as out of stock online.
Awesome store, great decor and furniture, but it's pretty damn expensive. Service was good, furniture seems high quality but wouldnt decorate my whole house here
Quality is not the best and getting help can been quite a chore. Like you really gotta have a "must have it" level of determination to get the help you need.
Súper bad!!!! Like a bad dream!!! Never is come my furnitures and I wait 10 to return my money and nothing. Rigthnow I dont hace money and furnitures... :\
Most of their signs for discounts and shipping are not what they actually will do once you go to pay for it. Typival "car salesman" scams
Terrible experience to get a full refund due to the flaw of the bedroom. It took 7 months to get the refund. Can you believe it?
Kiera was so helpful at finding a chandelier I've been searching for. Thank you so much for your great customer service today!
Love everything about this store. Beautiful selection, amazing showroom, great decor ideas, atmosphere, friendly staff.
Really bad customer service (non-existent). I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone. Go with Living Spaces or Costco.
Great experience with Anthony, who was very helpful and knowledgeable. Getting some nice furniture for the home!
they have a nice selection here. Really knowledgeable sales people too. I purchased my dining room table here.
I called for stock checking and was told it's an online item but it's not! Very rude and hung up on me.
Chris has the best customer service. I love his attitude and his persuasion. Definitely coming back.
It sure would've been nice to have been greeted instead of just stared at by the workers...
Karla was awesome! She walked us through our whole buying experience for our bedroom set.
Nice west elm, large selection but seems overpriced and all one style. Staff seemed nice.
Great selection of home decor. Lots of home furnishing to make your living space homey.
Nice things. Went to compare sofa color with rugs. Helped me decide on color and style.
Nice staff. Bought a couch & got it delivered the same day with Lugg. Loved it!
Customer service was wonderful and very friendly. Very high-quality furniture.
Nobody even asked if we needed helpful. We bought furniture elsewhere
Opens at 1000 on Friday. Not 9am. Just wasted my time driving here.
Very nice customer service. Guys working were super nice.
Nice selection. I went to try out the Casper bed.
Awesome sales!! Really good quality pieces
Beautiful bedding, and excellent service.
Very nice forniture
