Baer's Furniture Jacksonville- Zero Stars It was the worst experience I have ever had purchasing furniture. This store has extremely poor customer service. They advertise design staff that can design an entire room for you. The sales people want your immediate sale and then that's the last time you'll hear from them. High end furniture with a high end price tag and Walmart Customer Service. Actually lumping Baer's with Walmart is being offensive to Walmart because I've had better service there. I ordered in September and this is what I receive after almost 6 months of waiting. A chair with the wrong arm and wrong pillow fabric. I am shocked they are in business. I had to follow-up multiple times to place the order for this custom chair. While in the store, I purchased a sofa and grey chair. Then when I tried to purchase the matching chair to the sofa, she basically pushed me out of the store because that was a "custom" order, she'd need to work out the pricing and get back to me. I had to contact her multiple times to place the order. When she finally responded, she handed it off to a salesperson at ANOTHER STORE LOCATION. I assumed the order was still placed through the Jax location because that is the only location I have been to. Our problems started with an employee stealing the original sale from other employee. There is no communication from the salesperson or office staff on the progress of the order. I personally contacted the salesperson for status on order and received no response. After 15 weeks, my husband stopped by the store to check on the status and was told the chair had completed production and would be arriving in the warehouse that week. A week later I called the store. I was then told it was not even in production yet. 4 months after the order was placed and still not in production. Every time I called the store, I was told that I don't have an order with them. Every time I would have explain the whole story again. There was also no after delivery follow up on my 1st delivery of a chair and a sofa. I had also spoken to the "designer" about ottomans and area rugs. And you guessed it...no follow up to schedule an appointment with me to help me pick those out. I had never received a call from anyone at that store since placing our order in September. When my chair finally arrived in my home on March 2nd, almost 6 months later, it is incorrect. Wrong style arm and wrong pillow fabric. Today is March 16th and I still have this chair in my home. After my terrible experience, I do not want them to fix it. Why would I wait for another 5-6 months for a new chair? I contacted the store and requested a refund and pick up on the day of delivery. My mistake for not being the one home to accept delivery. I would have refused it on the spot. Now I'm stuck with it in my home. 2 days after delivery, I receive a call from someone in their office to tell me that since the order was placed through another store location I would need to discuss the problem with them. Are they serious? And why didn't the manager of the store call to tell me that? I said I will not do that. I placed my order with their store. It's not my problem that they decided to give the order to a salesperson at another location. On March 5th, the manager finally calls me (leaves me a message because I was at work) and tells me he has to get approval from Mr. Baer directly for a refund. I called him back. Twice! And you guessed it, no return call. Today is March 16th. The last message I left him was on March 10th. I will tell everyone I know to never shop at that store! The quality of the sofa I received in my first delivery is poor. It already creaks and the fabric is fraying. I've had it in my home since November. I am not one to complain about local businesses. I have never left a negative google review on a company. I understand that Covid is the reason for the delay in furniture production. If someone from Baer's had kept in touch with me, I wouldn't be so angry. Customer Service should be their #1 priority!

Spent over 9k on a modular sectional that has defective cushions. You sink when you sit down. 4 of the 5 cushions went bad. Not what I expected from a higher end manufacturer. Took 2 months trying to reach someone from service to come out and look at them. Finally in January someone came out and confirmed I needed replacement cushions. Was told it takes about 6 weeks to get in. It’s been 4 months and I can’t get anyone to call me back. I think I’ve been more than patient. Meanwhile I have a sectional that we can’t use and lasted 9 months. Since I can’t get anyone to call me back maybe this review will be read by someone higher up that can resolve my problem. Update-it’s been 8 months since I was told they would order replacement cushions. After given every excuse in the book from being told “they mistakenly forgot to order”, “they came in and they didn’t order the right number of cushions”to now “they got the cushions in and they didn’t order the right cushions.” So the agony continues but I’m over it, exhausted and definitely never stepping foot in their stores again. Good luck to anyone trying to deal with a repair or warranty issue. Sad to say I’ve had much better experience with the less expensive furniture stores out there. In this case you DON’T get what you paid for!!!! And for the record as you can see no one has responded to this review but that’s no surprise.

Worst customer service ever!! If i can give negative 5 stars i really would! Bought two couches and one of them got ripped. I called the warranty department and they said that they’ll give me credit for the one that got ripped because they could not fix it. I put the couches for sale and I was able to sell them and the buyer said they will wait until I get new couches. I went back and I bought two more couches, they came to deliver the couches and the same day I found out that they were going to pick up the old couch which nobody told me that they will pick it up so now I have another couch that’s sitting there by itself that I bought for $4000 and I couldn’t sell. The new couches that we bought have a battery pack. They got delivered without the plugs to plug in the wall to charge them. I called to see if I can get new plugs and the lady that answered kept saying that it’s a power plug and I don’t know what I’m looking for. Eventually she said that she’ll send someone to see if there’s a plug or not. That was four days ago nobody called or anything. My recliner is half of half down bc it’s not charged. I will never step foot in that store again and stay away.

Terrible experience. Over the past three years we’ve purchased multiple items from Baer’s and didn’t have any trouble until now. Purchased an arm chair. Waited months for delivery (ok, we expected that) but when it was delivered, the back cushion was missing. For three more months, Baer’s provided lame excuses about failures by the manufacturer (Lexington) and their on-going argument. Meanwhile we sat here with an expensive and un-usable chair. To get updates, we had to call Baer’s - they were not proactive. When our salesman promised to call back with information, he didn’t. When I asked for his manager, the manager hid from me and didn’t return my call. They didn’t offer to trade our incomplete chair for the one they had on their sales floor (I asked - he said it ‘wouldn’t match’ which is ridiculous as he knew we were going to recover the cushion anyway). One year and one week later we reported our Natuzzi leather couch had lost cushioning and the frame is bent. Then 2 months ago our exterminator discovered boll weevils had taken over one of the cabinets bought there. You decide if you want furniture from there because corporate does not care. UPDATE: This warranty had nothing to do with UNA Insurance Co. Your service provider came out and needed parts for a damaged frame in which he passed along to Baer to order. After many calls and getting nowhere I posted on here and got your attention. Then on Oct 18, 2023, we found out that Baer never ordered the parts for him even though I called multiple times to check in! Now we wait again from May 10, 2023, for parts and cushions. Fingers crossed but you can bet after it's said and done and we have to replace this NATUZZI couch it will not be that brand nor Baer furniture.

I purchase several room of furniture from Bear's furniture this April. I had a custom home being built and was not complete until June 9,2023. Bear's delivered a bedroom suite for my mother. The installers install the damage foot board/ storage that had a cracked from one end to the other. This issue took several weeks to get replace with a new one. I had my mother sleep in the guest room.The major complaint she have several drawers that won't stay closed. I had to wait 8 weeks for the parts come. I have waited 3 different times for this to get fixed. Each time the tech comes with the wrong parts to fixed the issue. Totally it has bee 3 separate time of 8 weeks I waited for the wrong parts to come in. No one from Bear's furniture can't keep their word. Each time I talked with some one for example the store manager or service dept. No one calls me back when they say that they will. It'd going on 5 months and the problem still not fixed.

Waited awhile to give a review, because I’m waiting to hear back about a wrong order. But it’s taking forever and they never update you. In January I got a custom couch, it shipped exactly twenty weeks later, even though the sales lady said it would be sixteen. The arms were wrong, so I told them. They said they would contact customer relations and I would hear back in 3-5 days. Never heard back. I called a week later, they said sorry and they’ll get back to me shortly and keep me updated. That hasn’t happened at all. Not a great place to buy furniture. There’s a fairly high chance you’ll pay thousands of dollars and they send you the wrong thing, especially after reading other reviews. Update: They offered to re-make the couch with a reduced delivery time, but due to a tight schedule I asked for a partial refund and they did just that. Took a really long time to have something done, but at least it was resolved. Thank you.

Hi, i needed to furnish a beach condo as a vacation rental and Alisha was a tremendous help in getting me there ! was looking for a good quality set for living & dining area and bedrooms yet at a reasonable price point. Alisha was able to put together a wonderful package to meet these needs. I recall her sitting down with me to scope out the design of the various rooms and what could work. Photos attached speak for themselves. The condo is furnished in appropriate beach/ coastal style and it really enhances its appeal to guests. Reaction from all guests has been very positive. And happy to say the vacation rental is doing well and getting month long bookings! I've worked with Baers before on furnishing my own residence and also rental properties always with a good experience and good results. I'll be back again for my future furniture needs. Dan

They sold me a king size bed set, which cost over $6K. When assembled, two vertical bars of the bedframe were missing, resulting in unbearable creaking. I took photos, went to the store and spoke with a store manager. She took my number and never called me back. I called back after a week. She told me that these parts were already missing, that I must buy them on my own from Amazon. I asked, why wasn't this disclosed to me? She said the saleswoman didn't know about it. So, management deliberately concealed matterial facts. I would not have bought the bed had I known that. This is so wrong!!! I would like to report that Baers's management has resolved the problem. I now will change the rating to a 3

This is an outstanding addition to Jacksonville and the Southside. Right accross the street from IKEA this location gives you hundreds if not thousands of furniture choices. First and most important you are not high pressured by the professional sales team. Being allowed to wonder gives buyers an opportunity to see all they have to offer. Now don't be price shocked by some of the items on both levels of this bright and well presented location. You can view a couch for $3000 or on the second floor another beautiful selection for $900. If you're in need of bedroom, mattress, dining room, living room or accent pieces please stop by and enjoy the 2 story top end selection.

We love your clean and spacious facility, breath of quality furniture and friendly knowledgeable personnel however the delivery process is sub par. On three separate deliveries we have received defective product ruined by your delivery personnel. We know Ashley in the Jacksonville facility on a first name basis and spent more time with her than your Sales People. It’s extremely frustrating to plan for a delivery, adjust your schedule and have some product not even make it into your home. The process doesn’t end with “The Sale. We have bought a considerable amount of furniture from Baers Furniture if you want more of our business fix your delivery execution.

This is a difficult review. We bought a very expensive 6 piece Natuzzi leather sectional with power recliners. When it was delivered, the delivery crew that set it up did a horrific job. One of the recliners, was broken and they left it without saying a word. Unbelievable!! However contacting customer service was not without some issues. They definitely could use some training. Needless to say my wife was very upset. However when Charles and the 2 young men showed up to replace the end recliner they adjusted the entire piece, spent some time to put it together properly, and literally saved us as customer. Thank you Charles, my wife is much happier now!!!

Bear’s has a great selection of furniture to choose from. I went in to buy a small sleep sofa. I was greeted as I entered by Lisa and we had a brief conversation about what I was looking for. After a quick trip up to the second floor and a walk through a large amount of beautiful furniture I was shown just what I was looking for. Fortunately for me a display model was for sale and I bought it. A few days later Bear’s crew delivered the couch to my location. The crew was really friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Within a few minutes my new couch was in position and ready for use. From beginning to end it was a pleasure to work with everyone at Bear’s.

Justin was interested and cared about in finding what kind of furniture we wanted, down to the style, the features, and the colors versus what would be an easy sell. I had an exceptional experience at Baer’s furniture. I was in a hurry and looking for a sectional sofa that met several requirements. My sales associate, Wendy Thompson, went over and above to find the perfect sofa and expedited everything to get me out of the door in time. She then spent more time tracking down a matching ottoman for me - after hours to make sure I could get everything delivered on time. It sounds like a cliché, but shopping at Baers was so easy. Husband & I walked in, we were not pounced on, but was welcomed in. Partial deliveries, missing items and couch delivered that doesn’t work! Really annoying when I’ve paid in full and I haven’t received my items I’ve purchased, let alone receive a couch that doesn’t recline as it should and missing pillows for another couch. I have to call them to get an update as to where my items are and when to expect them! Not as seemless as I expected! Fool me once! Never again will I spend my hard earned money here!

There is no such person as Tommy Bahama. It is a fictitious name. it is only sold by Bear's furniture. If you buy Tommy Bahama furniture, you're buying a fake name. You're paying exuberant prices for somebody that does not exist. It's not like Tommy Hilfiger, who is a real person. You can buy the same furniture from Unclaimed Freight, but you don't have the Tommy Bahama name. If you buy Tommy Bahama furniture, you are super silly

Great selection of quality furniture. Huge showroom, even had mattresses for a full one stop shop. Friendly and helpful staff that discussed options with us for 90 minutes, never any pressure to buy. To my surprise, the delivery team were Baer’s employees as well… and they were excellent. In a world of outsourcing many business aspects, it was great to experience a company that cares enough to own the full service experience. A+

Love Baers - excellent selection of fine furniture, and in my mind, reasonably priced. I had shopped previously for the purchased item at a local furniture discount “warehouse”, where the same item was almost twice the price. Anyway, delivery turned out to be terrific - kind and professional gentlemen went out of their way to place the furniture exactly where I wanted it. In summary, my experience couldn’t have been happier.

We ordered a very high end clock. Customer service was great, delivery was great. However we waited around 6 weeks for the item to come in. It arrived and was delivered without the power supply for the uplight. Now being told it can be anywhere from another 4 to 14 weeks before we can get that. I just think that is a little unrealistic and that the power supply should be expedited to us for immediate use.

Absolutely beautiful furniture with a huge selection - so much so that it has a second floor. A lot of Tommy Bahama stuff. Sales people aren’t pushy at all which is nice. Would give it five stars but the prices were very high. There was also quite a bit of modern coastal style and not much in the way of classic looking furniture.
