Extremely unprofessional customer service. This branch (store#3942) is under-staffed and the cashiers and the manager (Martin Chousa #1781471) are not well-trained. Our cashier was not able to produce a receipt for our purchase. Due to duplicate items on the screen we insisted that we wanted to see the receipt. He told us to talk to his Manager. When we approached Martin (who was working next to our cashier) he told us to wait till he takes care of the existing customers in his line (6 customers). My wife took the 7th spot. We waited for roughly 10min, until it was my wife's turn (by that time there were another 5 customers behind her). She asked the manager for the purchase (transaction #7857) receipt. He responded by saying that she needs to wait till he takes care of all the customers in the line behind her. When she told him that she had already waited for 10min he raised his voice and asked her to move to a side. At this point I intervened and told Martin to lower his voice. But he started yelling at both of us! I insisted that he needs to lower his voice and we are not going to give away our spot, but he kept yelling at us and brought the whole store into a standstill (for about 5min). One customer came to our defense and told him to back off, but he kept going and asked the customers behind us to move forward. Finally, we moved to a side, since we realized it was about his ego more than anything else. After processing a couple of customers he suddenly stopped and went to the back of the store and came back with 2 large printed receipts, one of which had items that we did not recognize. He said that he was sorry for the incident and that he will take care of the 2nd receipt. We were still shocked about this experience & left the store. We are new to UTC (we just moved here 2 days ago). In my 20 years of interaction with customer service in USA, this was by far the worst custome service experience I ever had. Shame on CVS for doing such a poor job of training its employees and managers. And shame on CVS for keeping their stores so understaffed that their managers end up being on the edge and stressed out. This level of customer service should have no place in USA.
The pharmacy staff at 8915 Towne Centre Dr, San Diego, CA 92122 are very rude and insulting, especially the pharmacy tech called James. Since I live close by, I went to pick up my prescription there for the first time. I was standing in line behind the line 6 ft. from the person in front of me minding my own business, and for no reason, James, the pharmacy tech yells at me to move behind the line even though I was already behind it. After it was my turn, he told me my medication would be ready in 20 min. I was roaming around the pharmacy when I heard my name from the speakers. I went to the window as the other Pharmacy lady (Mee was her name) was ready to hand me the medication and charge me for it; he again extends his arm, pointing out rudely, yelling at me to wait in the back of the line again. He said so rudely that even the pharmacy lady looked at him as if what is wrong with him. There are many ways of delivering the same message with different tones. It is the way he yelled, and stared into my eyes as if he was looking for a reason to fight with me. I work in the health industry myself and work with patients, nurses and doctors all the time. This behavior is unacceptable. I have called the CVS customer relations line, and I hope they would do something about this. Other reviews about the pharmacy staff are correct.
I dread going into this CVS location but unfortunately it is the only "convenience" store near me. Each time there are long lines at the cash stands and the employees move at a snails pace. The cashiers even like to chit chat while there remain lengthy lines. There also never seems to be help available throughout the store. Today was the last straw. I was waiting patiently in line and when it was my turn a woman grabbed the cashiers attention and needed something at the back of the store unlocked. I believe she said it was ink. Anyway, he left and as I stood there a long line started to form behind me. Then another cashier walked up and opened a cash lane next to mine and said she could help over there. Naturally the people behind me quickly jumped into that lane. I continued to stand there and the gal behind me commented and asked if our lane was still open or working. I told her I wasn't sure. I then decided I had enough and left. I only wish I would have left more items on the cash stand for their lazy asses to put the items back on the shelf. Do not go to this place if you need to get in and out in a hurry I've been to many CVS locations throughout the US and this is by far the slowest non-convenience store.
I have been a patient at this CVS for 13 years and I have never had such a rude and unhelpful pharmacist, as I did today! Wow. And as a chronic pain patient, with one of the most painful neurological conditions, I don't appreciate his flip, condescending attitude. I get that they are out of my pain medication today (today being Sunday, the one day i can't just ask my Dr to switch my Rx to the bigger CVS!), but this is an ongoing problem now with CVS, not stocking enough pain medications to fill their regular patients monthly pain prescriptions, after getting in trouble for flooding some areas with opiates during the whole opiate crisis. So now, in an effort to course correct, they screw over chronic pain patients on the regular! And to top that off with an uncaring, rude pharmacist is really disappointing and upsetting. I'm not familiar with this pharmacist, and I'm pretty sure he's new, as they keep changing the staff for some reason! We really have liked the staff here previously, butt I've NEVER had an experience on the phone like the one I had today. Somebody needs some patient sensitivity training, fast!
Guy at Pharmacy is unprofessional and doesn't know how to do his job. Gave incomplete prescription and didn't even notified. Next day when called he said you need to check if everything was given to you. I said common!! you are signing me off by looking into your system can't you tell me that some medication are missing as they are not covered by insurance. Now he says, we will reach out to Dr office for other recommendations which are covered in prescription. Have to make multiple trips just for one prescription pick up. I recommend not to select this pharmacy for prescription based drugs.. Will change my pharmacy store to other one. Otherwise front cashier's are good!
I went to this CVS to pick up a prescription. Went to the pharmacy to pick it up, and the pharmacist asked me about insurance. I told her I hadn't switched over my insurance to San Diego when I moved from LA. She and the other pharmacists literally spent over 30 minutes on the phone with insurance to set everything up and help me get a discount. After everything was completed, my costs ended up being $0. I have never experienced this level of customer service in my life, and I definitely didn't expect it from a CVS. Very grateful for Lindsey, August and the entire group that helped out. That made my day.
White coat scammers. Came here to pick up my prescription, they charged me $79. Later that night checked the price at GoodRX app, and .... the same medication was available for $14 at Ralphs and $15 at Costco ... even this exact shop offered it via GoodRX for $44! I cannot call it service. It is a scam (noun. a confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, especially for making a quick profit; swindle). Don't buy your prescription at CVS! Get the name of a drug, check at GoodRX app first, and only then drive!
I hate this CVS. Every time I go, it’s closed early. It says online that it’s closed at 11pm tonight and at 10:01pm I was told I needed to check out because they were closed. I’ve gone at 9pm before and they were closed when they were supposed to be open. Their selection of products is really slim, but I often go there because it’s so close to where I live. I’m so frustrated. I’m going to drive to a store from now on because it’s really absurd. Don’t bother going here, it’ll just waste your time.
Some folks at the pharmacy are extremely good at wasting your time. When I went for a refill, one person at the pharmacy spoke to me in an extremely judgmental manner. As if I was asking for free handouts. He sent me away saying he does not see a refill. I wasn't aware an increase in dosage was under a new prescription for me and not a refill. He did not bother to check that in spite of the pharmacy being practically empty. The folks from the store are nice but the pharmacy is horrible.
It's convenient and the employees are great, but the hours posted in the window and on Google maps are entirely meaningless. I'm posting this 45 min before "closing" and this is far from the first time I've been here about an hour before closing is supposed to happen and been greeted by a locked door. I'm also far from the only person being greeted by a locked door, based on the two other cars that have parked for people to try to enter just while I've been typing this...
Haven't used the pharmacy here, which seems to be the biggest point of ire. Standard CVS and products: manned register always seems to be understaffed and slow moving, which is a pain if you need to buy something that the self checkout won't let you (like alcohol). Store always seems understocked too, not uncommon to see completely empty shelves. The only walkable convenience store for people in this area, so we're stuck with it I guess.
Good part of this CVS store is : Quick store pickup options for all CVS orders and even photo orders. Worst part is : Staff. Most of the time they are new and untrained and don't know how to use CVS gift card etc, don't know how to use Extracare card benefits etc. Never faced such issues in La Jolla villa drive CVS center. They should be focusing on proper Staffing of this CVS center for better customer experience:)
This is the worst pharmacy I’ve ever been too. Prescriptions not ready on time with no explanation, no communication even though I’m signed up for all the texts and emails. Being told I need to use the self check out instead of having the staff ring me up for my purchases. Getting attitude from one specific older women cashier. I now go to a pharmacy farther away from my house in order to avoid this store.
Stopped in for a bottle of water, price on cooler reads $1.99, they ring it up at $2.39 plus tax and crv. When I tell them it’s not the price they say I have to become a “member” of CVS so they can have some personal information and track my purchases. I won’t be back to this strange business that wants to pry into my privacy and overcharge for water when I don’t comply to their corporate nonsense. I
This 5 star rating is specifically for the outstanding customer service I get from Lupe. Always a positive attitude an experience when I come in for a few things. She is helpful with product knowledge an sales/ discounts. I appreciate people like Lupe that engages with customers an has you leaving with a smile. I'll definitely continue to come back to this CVS.
Terrible customer service, one lady I asked for help said 'if you don't see it in that aisle then we probably don't have it' without bothering to take al look. Other lady tried to be helpful but got angry because I 'didn't let her speak' when all I was trying to do is explain a situation with the self check out. Avoid
A remarkably unfriendly and unhelpful pharmacy staff. Like another reviewer mentioned, the pharmacy techs exude the feeling of not wanting to be there. Though this is right next to my house, it's worth the drive to go elsewhere to avoid the dark cloud of negativity and slow turnaround time of this CVS.
5 Stars for Andrew!! TACO TUESDAY!! Came in for a second visit and Asli...claudine...tray...we’re awesome came in for some holiday shopping and they were so cheerful and friendly Asli even helped me wrap my Xmas gift THANK YOU SO MUCH I would come back for such great customer service
Poor service, cashier was rude and seemed like he hated life. I was trying to be friendly and talkative but he wasn't having it. The products in the personal hygiene section were dusty and dirty. Whoever replenished the products didn't seem to mind having them displayed like that.
Get this people more staff or give your current staff a raise. It's unfair they're doing the work of four people because CVS won't improve hiring incentives. It puts a disgusting taste in my mouth that you're abusing your current staff without doing your best to find replacements.
Came in around 12 for a birth control prescription but the pharmacist was about to go to lunch so this white woman at the pharmacy desk told me to come back 45 min later. Came back and he said he doesn’t prescribe birth control. Maybe people who work there should know that?
Very pleasant experience! It's a bit cramped, but my cashier was one of the most polite people I've met in any store. I think his name was Andy or Andrew, I don't remember. He was awfully handsome though. I almost dropped my bags on the way out staring at his chiseled jaw.
Lines are ridiculous. Employees are rude. NO ONE around to help. Only one person in the entire store working and she’s at the checkout line. I had to wait ten minutes for her to help me at photo center only for her to tell me that the passport photo card machine is broken
The guy at pharmacy was rude. When I had question about price he just asked me to call insurance company. After calling he sarcastically commented on me going back for the drug. I guess I’ll never go back ever for other stuff at this location to avoid his satire.
This CVS is not very efficient. The self check out does not work well. I had a coupon from the same store that was printed 2 days ago and the kiosk was not able to pick up. So I had to wait for the Cashier and it was manually entered.
Ola, the pharmacist, refused to fill my prescription even though I’ve been on the medication for years. I had to take the prescription to a different CVS just to get the medication before I ran out. It was an awful experience.
Did not receive a positive experience today. The pharmacist Soo was difficult to talk to. She clearly did not want to be there. She not only upset the couple in front of me but also agitated me when I was making my purchase.
I love coming to this location because the store clerks are so helpful and friendly. One of the clerks asked if she could give my dog treats and wrapped them up for him to go! Needless to say my dog is a fan
Lupi does a great job. She greets customers as soon as they walk in. She's always super friendly and helpful. I always enjoy seeing Lupi when I shop at CVS. She's great. Thank you, Deb
I asked to purchase an item. Manager said that unless it was alcohol I had to use self check. I come to CVS for convenience, not economy shopping. Why don’t you have cashiers?
Went here for getting my passport photo taken. The lighting was bad and the picture they took was blurry and tilted. Very rude and unprofessional service.
Literally no care for the current situation. The employees don't care about anyone who comes in. Its good for a quick run in and thats it
This is a very small CVS location. Missing a lot of essential items. Teens frequently outside pestering you to buy their chocolate.
My Dentist wrote me a prescription and was told they don't take prescriptions. What is a pharmacy that doesn't take prescriptions?
Thank you Lupi for a wonderful experience today at CVS and thank you so much for taking time to get my CarePass updated. …
I wish I could give you 0 star . Extremely unprofessional customer service. Shame on CVS for having disrespectful employees
Went to get my photos for Mexican visa. Inspite of giving exact dimensions, they screwed up the size. Very unprofessional
Store is closed even during posted business hours. Don't waste your time here and visit a different location :)
Lupi at the cashier was very knowledgeable, helpful, outgoing and helped to create an easy, pleasant experience
Tiffany Pham is the best pharmacist in town! She is extremely knowledgeable in all the medications I needed.
The only person that I deal with at the pharmacy is Chelsea. She is extremely friendly and helpful!
A terrific staff that are friendly and helpful. I have always had excellent service.
Rude customer service!!! Specially respected old lady with rude customer service!!!
Incredibly understaffed pharmacy. The wait is insane, especially trying to call.
This CVS is ridiculous. They close earlier than they supposed to all the time.
Super nice cashiers, I just wish their pharmacy was open later
Very convenient location. Ladies at register are very nice.
Cashiers were unpleasant and did not want to do their job.
Spacious and well organized, very clean and not too busy.
Too slow cashier due to employee shortage.
