My niece is going into high school this fall and is trying to find other sports that she might be interested in. We were in here just browsing and she showed an interest in golf (she's mentioned it before and played a bit) and we started looking at clubs. There was a room where you can try out different clubs and hit the ball much harder than the little putt putt area they have set up so she was pretty excited about being able to try out clubs. We went to find an employee and we found Doug near the bikes but he immediately asked her if she was just wanting to play around. Funny joke, whatever, but he said he'd be right there. We went back to the room and waited, watching Doug still work on bikes and not even look at us or walk toward us. We waited a bit and had to ask another employee. That employee apparently needed to get the key from Doug and when he came back and unlocked the door, he asked my niece if she was actually interested in buying or if she's just playing around. I had to tell him that she's interested but we don't really have the money to buy anything, because she is and we didn't. He mentioned how a kid was actually interested in buying a club so we let him go first, but the kid corrected him and said he was just thinking about it. Just like my niece, but for some reason he thought my niece just wanted to play around. We did get to hit but it was hard for her to really get into it or even look at clubs, she was very embarrassed and thought she shouldn't really be there. I mean, whatever, they unlocked the room and she could hit some balls, but it was so rude the way she was treated. They completely judged her and I haven't been able to stop thinking about how they shut her down without knowing anything. Not like it makes a difference to this store or business, but we definitely won't come back here if she wants to pursue golf. I love Dick's SG and bought my bike from the store in Liberty with the help of a super knowledgeable and nice kid, but I'm taking her or making sure her parents take her somewhere else where they'll take her seriously. I for sure won't come back to this store if I have an interest in anything, I would be so embarrassed if I was treated the way she was when I was looking for my bike a couple years ago.
Zona Rosa location was not ideal. Teenagers working in the shoe department had zero motivation to engage me. I had to seek out assistance to find my item, interrupting their talks and was told to check the upstairs footwear section. I was just up there and there was no one in that section to assist me. When I returned upstairs again, there still was no one assigned to that section. If it wasn't for that Tyler L. associate, I would have walked out of the store as no one was helping and no one was asking if I needed assistance. He saw that no one was in the cleats section, came up, and was able to find me my cleats and box it all up within 15 minutes of service. HE was great, friendly and very helpful. When ringing up the purchases the associate told me to select "highly satisfied" on the receipt. I am not satisfied with this location or its associates with the exception of the Tyler L. Pro: store was clean, not crowded, and quite spacious. Selection was decent Con: see above; lack of signs (no sign that said this is the cleats area for women/men/kids).
Haven't been in one of these stores in ages,, but urgently needed a very specific item I knew they carried. Immediately received expert assistance from the first associate I encountered, then follow up assistance by an associate on the 2nd floor who already knew what I was looking for (how did they do that?) As I was checking out, observed a customer at a register who was argumentative and gruff about returning an item. The associate expertly handled the situation and prompted another associate to assist and when I left the customer's demeanor was completely changed. I think I heard them chuckle as I was walking out the door. Amazing! Might be the best retail chain store experience I've ever experienced.
Worst customer service of my life. I think if I were paying to be ignored, I’d probably still have more interaction with that staff than I do on any random visit. Store is staffed with teenagers more focused on getting in each other pants than acknowledging that customers exist (when school is out) and burn outs that look like they’re going to rob your house during the rest of the year. I have literally never walked out of this store satisfied and haven’t even been able to spend my money here on my last three visit due to how useless the staff is and how chaotic the store is. 5 starring so people get to see this, don’t think for a second this store is worth anything other than 1 Star.
3 entrances and only one functioning at all times. 1 not working at all and then another working on a time schedule with only small notes on the door stating it’s either not working or won’t be operating until this time which it was over 2 hours past time it said. Very inconvenient if you parked on that side. Went to shoe department and 6 teenagers standing around checking their personal cells instead of helping customers. I had to physically track someone down to get a shoe size. Very frustrating when the store has decent traffic coming and going and I have my young kids with me and I have to track down someone to help when there is 6 just standing around.
Terrible experience here, staff was no where to to be found for assistance on the top floor. When I did track them down I asked about an item the website said was in stock but out of pure laziness the staff said the website was wrong didn’t bother to check. I even pulled up the website on my iphone to show them the sku number and all they could do was radio someone. At the same time i noticed another employee waving his hands in a nonverbal no manner to someone they contacted below. I felt like no one wanted to really help me buy something I really went out of my way to shop for. I'll stick to buying online I guess.
I went in on a Friday afternoon to go spend around $100 on some new basketball shoes. They have a nice store and a good selection of shoes, but the shoe section did not have a single employee working. I browsed for about 20 minutes thinking eventually someone would come down to that area, but literally they had no one working the shoe department. This is not a self-serve shoe department. They only keep the display models on the sales floor. I was amazed that anyone would build a store this large and nice, but fail to keep a minimal staff. They lost a sale from me, and I doubt I'll be back.
I go to Dick's every so often and mostly go to the golf section. Great selection and decent prices but sometimes hard to find assistance. Also, there's a large putting green area with all of their putters but they stopped leaving balls there. What a waste. I love to go in there to waste some time and hit some putts and I don't feel like I should have to ask someone for a ball to hit. With something like a putter, someone is more likely to make a purchase of they can actually hit it and drain some putts.
Team Father's Day Gift: Tee, Allison, Haiely, & Brooke these ladies absolutely ROCK! I was in town visiting my significant other. My mission was to purchase something for him golf related for Father's Day. Well he and I were in the store together and he immediately went upstairs to the golf section...well I couldn't go upstairs while he was there. Long story short...they accepted the mission and 10 minutes later I had the gift in hand. Thank you Ladies! ❤️
Called to see if some shoes were in, was told on the phone they had a few kinds. Came in looking for the shoes, was directed to a wall by one of the shoe associates and then she ran away. Didn't help us look and in the end they didn't have the shoes. Super disappointed by the experience. Also the watch selection for a "sporting goods" store was awful, I'd expect at least some kind of digital waterproof watch, but they only had fitbits and a single garmin choice.
Personally I'm not a big fan of Dick's Sporting Goods. Sure the stores are nice enough, and they're in nice locations, but I just don't like the way they do business. Unless they're running a sale on a particular item, on average there about 20% more then any of their leading competitors, and that's for brick-and-mortar stores, if you're talking about online stores Dick's Sporting Goods prices are atrocious. I'll stick to the places that I know treat me right.
The store itself is big, new and clean. However, the staff is too busy to give help and their selection is terrible. I just waited 7 minutes on hold for the shoes department, just to have them pick up the phone and hang it up without saying a word. In addition, countless times the website has said an item was in stock (most recently the Nike Tech Fleece Windbreaker), just to drive all the way up there and find out that they don't have it, or anything like it.
We shop here for baseball, soccer and whatever sport that were playing. We needed new baseball cleats for fall ball. The man that was working in the shoe department came up and helped us after helping another person. After we made him scan almost all the cleats. We noticed there was a scanner right behind us. it also told us what was in the back lol. Felt kinda bad about it but he was really nice and I don't think he was not bothered by it.
While I was waiting for my husband to finish shopping, when I over heard 2 sales associates cussing st one another, like as playful banter, but my complaints are about the racial words they were choosing to refer to themselves. They did ask me if I needed anything, I said no and got up and found my husband and we left immediately. That's a shame that those employees chose to act as if no one was "looking", and was showing their true nature.
My husband wears a size 15, which has been increasingly difficult to find. I docked a star because we had to go from Liberty to Zona Rosa to find only 2 pairs in stock, but Kelly on the sales floor earned all of my respect because she helped me track down ankle socks in his size. Also not an easy mission, but she was committed! Thanks to her, we won't be walking around Florida with him in crew socks pulled all the way up his shins!
So much to look at & shop for in this store, love the Chiefs merch. Great Yeti section upstairs as well!!! So much Nike stuff for whole family WOW!!! Very friendly staff, took waiting in line a little while to get them to open a second register, but an elevator for full carts & handicapable people made it totally worth the wait. Love this so cool & casual place to shop & find cool comfy clothes to buy also
Do NOT come to this location for Chiefs players signing events. The staff that runs these events will let anyone cut in line and let people sit and wait in their cars and come back to their spots while people actually wait and suffer in line. If you can’t wait in your spot for hours then don’t come. People were trying to sell wristbands to people waiting in line that they found in the trash from prior events.
I bought a pair of shoes. At the register I asked the sales person to double check that both shoes were size 8.5. I told him I lived 1 hour away and had been looking all-day for these shoes. I was most of the way home when I realized that not only were the shoes 2 different sizes, they were both for the right foot. I went back and asked for a return and discount for the extra hour drive and they said no.
Smitty at the Zona Rosa location definitely deserves more than 5 stars. My boyfriend got a new set of golf clubs and he worked with us in regards to getting them sized correctly and is also working with him on mastering his swing. He definitely knows what he’s talking about. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking to purchase new golf clubs and is in need of assistance with their golf game.
Exceptional service! My son had recently started baseball after a couple years off. Colby, up in the baseball/softball department, was amazing. We showed up about 45 minutes prior to closing, he worked with us right up until 9pm. He never made us feel rushed and did a great job of explaining all our options. Colby went above and beyond all my expectations for a big box sporting goods store!
Searching for size 13 shoes at other retailers the old fashioned way can take up your whole Saturday. I went in on a crowded afternoon with pretty much every attendant helping someone else. So I used the kiosk and simply made my choice from the available shoes they had on hand in my size. The runners brought out a pair of Adidas and Nike sneakers and I was in and out of there in 10 min.
Went there for shoes and really enjoyed my visit. Brother needed new shoes and y'all staff in the kicks department delivered! One in particular, Aleah! She was so knowledgeable about her department and fr made me wanna buy more than we came for. We ended up buying a pair in store and one online, with the assistance of the previously mentioned associate. Highly recommend this location.
Had the best experience in zona Rosa! Gracie was the only person at the registers and was able to get through the 3 people before me amazingly fast with also giving them the utmost respect and impeccable customer service! And before that was helped by the sweetest young man Josh I believe his name was, helped me find the perfect shoe to support and help with keeping in style
I won’t go into grave detail. But thank you so much for helping us out on our shirt that was misplaced! Your staff was amazing and I am so thankful to have a painless Alex change of clothing. It something the manager could have easily pushed off due to someone trying to scam the company, that wasn’t the case and I am so thankful. You have earned my business for a long time.
Dick's Sporting Goods is an authentic sporting goods retailer offering a broad assortment of brand name sporting goods, equipment, apparel and footwear in a specialty store environment. I visited Dick's Sporting Goods and bought every thing I needed a wide selection of sports gear, apparel, footwear and equipment! I had very good and top brands at competitive prices.
Good sale! I am however rating it a two due to the following: Three areas to checkout and only one person per stations working moving at a snail's pace. Then on top of it had to search & stand around for a sales person to help find out if they had the shoes. I'd rather pay a little more at Hibbetts Sports and get faster service than pay less and get slower service.
Bought some brooks before a rotation in California and was given two different shoes. Brought them in today to hopefully get the right pair and the manager and ( I believe jose) took great care of me. It was an incredibly unique issue but they were incredibly helpful and corrected the issue. Sucks customer service is definitely what keeps it’s customers.
Not helpful at all. I spent an hour and a half looking at backpacks, sitting on the floor, backpacks strewn on the floor around me, and not once during that time did anyone ask if I needed help or anything. When I did have a question it took me 5-minutes to find someone who could answer my question. Great selection of stuff but horrid customer service.
The female manager that was training an employee was rude to the trainee and rude to me. It was obvious that she was irritated by her work. In addition to this, I was over charged for the shoes I purchased. It is time to return to the Leawood KS or Olathe Ka locations for this chain because this Zona Rosa location is the worst.
great selection. staff always seem to be there to help. My last visit there was not very pleasant. staff did not appear to want to help me find the right shoe. Manager on shoe section was angry at me for trying on the display shoe. It was the only shoe with the size i needed. #quality products#greatenergy#jmmelvin04@yahoo.com
I went in for a fitting and Joedy Petit did a fine job. I actually scheduled a 2nd fitting with a Titleist rep down at Ironhorse Country Club and was fitted into the same specs. They didn't have Titleist clubs at Dick's but Joedy pointed me to Golf Galaxy, a sister company, where they did carry the clubs I was looking for.
Lol this place is terrible. The customer service is laughable, they will literally look at you and tell you they don’t have time to help you. They also don’t carry ANY inventory. Legit- not a single pair of tennis shoes in either of my kid’s sizes. They tried to convince me to have my girls try on other sizes. What??
I was told that I can't make a return because I didn't have a receipt nor was I a part of their rewards program then I called and asked them what their policy was and I would get in-store credit so maybe all the associates should be on the same page so now I don't have to waste my time again and go back
Floor staff came to offer assistance with top shelf product. Cashier friendly and helpful. I'd attempted to place online order for store pick up. Frustrating experience, order failed to process twice. Chat help refered me to phone support, who said he couldn't help with an in store pick up order!
Horrible customer service. Called to see if they had a shoe in my size. First call was transferred to shoes and was hung up on. 2nd time no one answered after i was transferred. 3rd time no answer in shoes but manager helped. Then never got back to me. Worthless. I will spend my money elsewhere.
Great experience with the bike shop! I ordered a bike for my son here a few weeks ago. There were some minor issues to correct and the bike shop got me in, made the adjustments, and put on a kickstand for me in a matter of minutes. Very professional, lots of helpful insight and supportive!
Went in to get some shoes. Teenagers working in the shoe department had zero motivation to engage me. Finally, an energetic employee inquired if I need assistance and from their he went above and beyond in assisting me. He we was their earning his money and not just getting paid.
The staff was really helpful. We got some shoes and some work out shirts. They only had 2 in the color and size I needed. After we checked out another staff member ordered what I wanted online and it is being shipped straight to the house free shipping. Great customer service.
Was there 04/04/2017 @ the golf section looking at golf shoes and the 2 people working were very rude, it's like they didn't want to be there! We got the help from one guy, but the girl seemed like she was in her own little world.... You ought to be happy you have a job!!!
Absolutely awful! Went in there twice to buy athletic shoes and both times left upset. There is not enough staff and when you ask to speak to the Manager "Jeremy" he is too busy to help customers. I would recommend anywhere else! My business will go to Academy Sports!
Wide arrays of options, good clothing collection, contains equipments from kayaks to dumbles to cycling to baseball, golf, you name it. Helpful staff and good service. Just wish they would start giving some discounts this being holiday season and all.
Not a bad layout, def clean. Prices are a bit more then other places. Wish had bigger selection of sports bra's. In there for daughter & mostly light weight or low intensity. For a place that's all about sports, kind of lacking in high impact bra's.
I have a wide foot and get holes in my shoes after about a year so I tend to get cheaper shoes since I know they will be replaced soon… employee suggested a $150 pair of shoes and told me I won’t have that problem… got a hole in them within 5 months
Huge mistake coming in here. The entire 30 minutes I was here the only time someone that worked here spoke to me or my wife was a young man at the register by the door when we were leaving and I saw at least 7 people that worked here walk by me.
All about sports. Pretty much what ever you need from shoes to hat. Look for coupons or sign up for their rewards program to get discounts as the prices are premium to get what you need now and not have to wait on delivery.
Limited selection, uniformed staff. They sell traditional recurve bows but do not sell the correct arrows for them. Was told to go to a store in a different location that would have them, but they did not have any either
Love this store and they have a great variety to choose from. Unfortunately they didn't have purple for my grand daughter but pink is her next favorite ❤️ The store is always clean and the staff is always very helpful
Went here to get some sporting equipment that was out of season. They paged the stock person who met me, asked me what I needed and found me exactly the right gear. Friendly, attentive, and quick! Will be back again.
I tried to buy a pair of really warm gloves. They said it doesn't get cold enough in KC for warm gloves so the don't order them. Who knew -0° isn't cold. I guess I need to go to Canada to buy glove. …
Katie F. In the golf department at Zona Ross in Kansas City, MO was so pleasant and assisted us with golf shirts and shorts for my husband. THANK YOU Katie F. and blessings to you and your family!!!
I went in to buy some outdoor gear and the items were labeled wrong. The store associates care and gave me a nice discount. This was right before they close. The team is pretty good here! Kudo’s!
I received personalised service when selecting mosquito repellant. So with that kind of service on a low dollar purchase I am confident that the service is outstanding store wide.
The service was great they found exactly what I was looking for and Jason was the guy that helped me. At the Zona Rosa location. Had a really great experience in there today.
The Zona Rosa location in Kansas City has a great selection for kids. Always struggle to find good tennis shoes in my son style but we always seem to find good ones here.
Very busy but it was back to school and the weekend. A good selection. We were looking for an infant life vest. The guy who helped is was knowledgeable and helpful.
employee that checked us out today was very patient. had an exchange and couple different purchases (employee could have easily been rude or rushy with long lines)
Great experience purchasing new athletic shoes. Jennifer was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. It was nice to have such a diverse selection to choose from.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Huge selection. Two stories. Any sport you can think of, they offer products for or can tell you where to find a specialty item!
The shoe sales man was irritated after trying on two pairs was rushing me to make a choice. Made sarcastic comments when I asked for a second pair. Very rude.
I always find the most friendly and helpful people working here when I visit. They have everything I need and more. Great resource for the community.
If you're reading this review, you're probably looking for sporting goods. Almost guarantee Dick's Sporting Goods has what you're looking for. :-)
Had everything I needed plus incredibly polite and helpful staff. Manager (I think) greeted me and knew exactly where both things I came for were.
The sales associate were very helpful in help finding a sweater my aunt was looking for. Very nice place to shop. I would highly recommend it.
Came to find some kayaks and we were pleasantly surprised with a sale that they had going on. The staff was knowledgable and very helpful.
I've shopped here many times and have never had a problem. I like their selection but I won't give 5 stars because they are Expensive.
The workers here always go out of their way to help my wife and I out whenever we come in. Never had any issues with this location.
Not terribly crowded and the staff was very helpful! Didnt have to hunt anyone down with questions which always makes it pleasant!!
Rep didn't know about price matching deals but lady at the counter did thankfully. Friendly and helpful. Good Carhartt selection
Helpful and friendly staff! Especially in the footwear department! We always shop here when we need new hiking shoes/boots!
Very clean nice store with a ton of variety! It is two story and was greeted at the door and offered help several times!
The team there helped me find exactly what I was looking for. They were so friendly. It was a great experience for sure!
The shoe selection is a step above. We just love this place. There is always a staff member looking to help you!
It was clean and stocked. They had a better selection of men shoes priced around $50,then in my past visits.
Very helpful and friendly staff!! Huge selection and great prices!! Store was very clean and organized!!!
Sam was a big help to my daughter with her softball bat purchase. Best experience I have had at DSG!
Worst customer service out of all the sporting goods stores in Kansas City, will not be returning!
Prices never match at register vs on rack and employees act like you’re inconveniencing them
They had so much of the Chiefs gear all laid out as you come in the door!
Everyone in the store was so friendly! Loved the atmosphere!
Found the shoes I wanted. Had good help from sales girl.
