I have never had a bad experience at until I presented myself at Frankston Hostpital. I went there for help after dealing with multiple issues consisting of putting my back out in a coughing fit (heightening already painful fractures in my spine), a large abcess as well as constant panic attacks for 3 days from the exacerbated pain on top of a condition i have with an adrenal gland, causing no sleep for days creating severe trauma that i just wanted to end as fast as possible. They ignored my cries for help and didn'teven give bepanadol or ibuprofen until many hours after being there. I would not have gone there if I was able to manage the pain with these medications yet they only helped with anything stronger after I had a severe mental breakdown and then still had to wait over an hour to get slightly stronger medication that was still far from effective. I presented myself at the E.D. at 1pm, was taken into the short stay unit at around 2:30pm and didn't get any relief from the pain or the contant panic attacks until around 10pm. I was in constant tears and when I finally did get the relief I was so exhausted but could only manage to get a few hours sleep. The next morning I woke up still in the same agony and yet again did not recieve any pain medication or relief until I went into surgery after 1pm. When the surgeon saw the state I was in he didn't want me to leave the hospital until I got a psych evaluation which I agreed to the next day. The next day comes and I had sat there waiting until the evening to find out they had forgot to put the referral in, I had to go home as I had my two teenage children there who both have medical conditions and need supervision. The nurse told me they'd prefer if I stayed but was not very convincing and felt like she was more trying to push me out the door than keep me there. In the end I signed a waiver to say I left on my own accord and went home (with no blood pressure medication for the very high blood pressure I had this whole time). I know this is a long review but I wanted to warn others that may potentially be put through the same hell I went through there duringng a moment of crisis. Since my stay there I have been afraid to seek any help at a hospital.
I was worried about a blood infection that could potentially kill me and had all symptoms, had a friend pick me up because it was apparently less time wasting than an ambulance. He drove 40 min then picked me up then another 30 min to the hospital because I was too distressed and in pain to drive alone. Waited 1-2 hrs then got an exray when I told them i didn’t care about the pain it was my bad immune system and antibiotics not working. Waited another couple hours, finally got put in a room where a nurse was asking lots of questions and even tho it hurt to talk or move my jaw I told her my lengthy medical history & I could see her falling asleep , she said the dr won’t be long and gave me pain killers which wasn’t necessary because I was hoping they could give me a stronger antibiotic. But after waiting another 3 hours I felt so terrible for my friend because he was sleep deprived so I said I can’t wait any longer and I asked for at least a copy for my X-ray or hoping the dr would look at the X-ray only to be told there is no dr anytime soon ! I understand being understaffed , but don’t get someone’s hopes up when it’s a life or death situation ?! Who can I go to if the hospital can’t even help me. I’m so angry & upset , just a waste of my time and my poor friend who I feel so bad about
I had my 1st child at Frankston in the middle of the pandemic with stage 4 lockdown restrictions in place. I could honestly not fault my experience here. I had a 30 hour labour and midwives were amazing supporting me through ever step/hour of the journey. Mine and my husband’s wishes were respected at all times. All staff were lovely and caring and took the time to explain anything we wanted to know. The hospitals facilities are gold standard including birthing baths which I was allowed to enjoy during labour. Pain relief was offered and explained to me clearly as well as interventions and options which may be needed. All of my wishes were respected in regards to interventions. Afterwards, I was given a private bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. The midwives were amazing with helping me breast feed correctly, teaching me how to change a diaper and burp a baby. Overall a very good experience, before, during and after the birth. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to the special midwives who got me through the most rewarding, yet challenging experience of my life: Karin, Kiera and Maddie. Thank you so much ladies for helping me achieve what I never thought I could. You are all very talented midwives with a very special job! Keep doing what you do! Connie xx
I was at the Emergency section around 5.30pm. It was my first visit, my registration happened quite quickly and I was told that I am on a Fast track queue. I waited for about 3 hours in the reception area without any clue. Finally some one came and took me into the Emergency room. I was put into one of rooms and told that the Doctor would come and examine my injured palm. I waited for another 2 hours in the room without any clue. It was around 10.30pm, I spoke to one nurse and told that I have go home and probably come tomorrow. She immediately informed the Doctor and I was finally attended. It took about 5 minutes for my treatment, but the wait time was around 5 and half hours. I am sure nobody would like this experience. I don't blame the Doctors and the supporting sraff, they had too many cases to attend. I also came to know that the waiting time is very common on a day to day basis. Patients on an average wait for 7 to 8 hours. This is unacceptable at any standards, I personally feel the management has to introspect and bring the necessary changes to serve the the patients with lesser waiting time. Hope my feedback is taken in the right spirit and hope to see positive changes.
My mother is currently a patient at the hospital and we have found the experience so far terrifying and upsetting. The nurses though, have been fantastic and do their best to care and support patients, but they are understaffed and there are not enough to care for very ill patients that require 1:1 care. The doctors have also been very good however, my mother is currently in a ward where high needs mental health patients have been dispersed as a result of the recent accident which impacted the mental health ward. These patients are high risk, agitated and are sharing the ward along with very unwell elderly patients who are immobilised due to their illnesses and completely defenceless. They roam around the ward and patients are very frightened. This is a completely unacceptable situation. We have had to witness very distressing scenes of patients being pinned down by security to get them back to their rooms while ill elderly patients who cannot move witness these scenes. I cannot understand how the hospital think this is an acceptable solution as they work to repair the mental health ward!! It is not ok. Patients have a right to feel safe in their hospital bed.
Let me say that Frankston Hospital is the worst in the country. They have no idea! They have inexperienced doctors hence why it is more of a training and education hospital. A place for juniors to experiment with human life. Seriously how the hell can you trust this hospital!!!! I urge you to take your loved ones somewhere else. The doctors at ward 5 are useless and have no care factor. I will provide you with further details with real life experiences and also names of doctors and nurses to illustrate why this hospital is not one to use. Family members need to question decisions and recommendations made by doctors. Do not take their word as being the best option for your loved one. The one place where you expect honesty, transparency and the highest level of duty of care is the one place that will lack these basic requirements. Seek an opinion from another independent doctor. To these individual health professionals which I will name shortly, it’s just a job nothing else. You must stay away from them for any major treatment. Please be careful!!!!
Attended due to my chronic pancreatitis, nurses as always were amazing. I have been told to present there by my specialists etc and usually am treated okay. I am meant to be admitted for fluid and pain management and to be watched . This emergency doctor, I think was the in charge possibly rudely asked me why am I here? What do I want from them? And when I explained the treatment that I usually get and that is normal for my disease he told me that this is an emergency department our job is to FIND the issue, and well you already know the issue so there's nothing else we can do here. I can die with this disease. Leaving behind my three babies. It's just not good enough. I deal with the pain daily, however when it gets that bad and the flare lasts more than a day I'm told to head in.. I waited 10 days.. he then told me if it's still this bad in a day or so come back?? I've just waited and dealt for 10 days.. waited to be seen for 12 hours and you want me to go home and come back in a day
Was discharged in more pain then I had when I entered the hospitals. Have been bedridden since arriving home where I have zero support to get me through day to day tasks like showering and using the bathroom. Communication throughout the hospital is a joke, feel absolutely sorry for the poor nurses who have to do their best to explain why the doctors are so time poor and have no time to explain and discuss with their patients. I felt as if half my symptoms were completely ignored and that I have been spat out the hospital to eventually die. At one point I was even asked ‘what did the doctor say?’ By a nurse of which I had to then try and explain what the doctor had said to me without understanding any of the medical terms. Me and my roommates in the hospital all shared our disappointment for the way we had been treated. - 10/10 recommend traveling to another hospital if you are able. This one needs to be closed down.
Very impressed with the care I received yesterday I was taken by ambulance with an extensive DVT and fast tracked through. I met Jess initially and then Haley who was my nurse. Haley's care was very interactive, I didn't ever feel I was just another patient. Her attentiveness was great .I felt listened to and had prompt attention. Dr Jack was equally as impressive with his care and explanations. As a nurse we can be very trying as patients and I hope I wasn't! I had a sense that even though busy there was professionalism and good banter among staff which to me defines a good workplace . It was reassuring to see attention to hand hygiene throughout. I have been to other local EDS as a carer and been very unimpressed with the nonengagement lack of hand hygiene and dismissiveness. Well done Frankston Ed I would have no hesitation in recommending you thank you so much. Attracta
I had a total laproscopic hysterectomy here 2 weeks ago. Despite my original date for surgery being cancelled at the last minute due to complications with another patients surgery, I was able to be rescheduled for my surgery 4 days later. The nurses in the surgical unit were amazing and very comforting whilst preparing me for surgery. Before I went into theatre the surgeon and anaesthetist explained the whole procedure with me and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Once the surgery was complete, I was taken to a short stay after surgery ward where I spent the next 2 days before going home. The nurses on the ward were amazing. All of them were extreamly caring and compassionate. The drs visited each morning to do their routine checks and kept me informed on the progress of my recovery. I honestly can not fault the hospital or the staff. 5 star rating from me.
Unfortunately my experience has been horrible apart from the emergency room where the staff is consider, sympathetic and listens to the patients. Outpatient 1 for maternity care has been unprofessional and every appointment it's been one mistake after another. I've never sworn nor used violent language towards anyone there and the last time I called the hospital a woman just hung up on me offering no other information on who to contact about my future appointments. I have lost faith in believing I'll be safe having my baby there. Furthermore, the hospital needs to address the technology they are using to communicate with patients as it also suffers from glitches that the staff are aware of. Again emergency staff and my one ultrasound appointment in radiology excellent, the other areas of the hospital have lost my confidence in their competence.
The staff at Frankston are lovely. However, the wait in ED is just too long and I feel that there is no system. I have been here twice with each of my sons (one had asthma symptoms and the other got bitten on the face by a dog). Both times we had to wait about 2.5hrs to be seen. Then another 2.5-3hrs and the doctors and nurses come and go, different one every time and you have to keep telling them the same story. Doesn’t seem organised. I went there with my 1 year old today with a dog bite on the face - Arrived at 5.30pm, left at 10pm - The only thing they did in the end was give him Panadol, a script for antibiotics and now we have to go to Monash tomorrow to have the wound cleaned. Again, staff were lovely, not their fault, but there was no priority for small kids and no clear system. I feel for the staff and hope that things improve for them.
Been waiting over 9 hours to be seen and the emergency just keeps getting busier. Ask for an ETA and get told “I dunno, it doesn’t work on time you have been here”… perhaps base it on pain levels and we would have been seen a long time ago, but stomach bugs and back pain superseed someone screaming in pain? Have been here since 2am when there was noone here and still in the waiting room. Waiting in pain and staff on the night shift were helpful, staff on the day shift are “too busy” to provide pain relief. Its now 10.46am and still not seen. Watched about 60 patients go in and out and we are still waiting here. Don’t really want to come back from a car accident that ill probably have on the way home from sleep deprivation but they don’t care. Worst hospital ive ever been to (and thats saying alot considering i got golden staph from Monash)
I had a surgery here that was supposed to be day surgery but I didn't wake up for several hours so ended up staying in for a few days. Mixed feelings, all staff were lovely for the surgery. I'm confused as to what happened with not waking up. On the ward it was 50 50, some nurses were lovely and very caring and others couldn't care less. I had a met call at one point and didn't feel cared for at that time and it was very scary. When it came to being discharged I felt like I was being pushed out by doctors before being ready to go. The doctors were also 50 50 some lovely and some just not friendly. All students I met were super nice. Thankyou to Charlotte and Ashlee on ASMU for being the top two nurses, both very kind, caring and patient, I wish all nurses could be as kind as these two.
I had an appointment booked last year as an out patient, turned up and was told I had no appointment so I went home. I then received a call to say I missed my appointment, I did ask staff to search me up on the system to make sure I was in the correct location but therefore missed my appointment. Second occasion last week, I call 9am when out patients dep open to confirm appointment time / location as did not want a repeat since I drove 40 mins to the hospital plus arrange time off work and transport. Staff confirmed my appt, I then arrive to hear no appt today and staff gave me wrong information. I understand mistakes happen etc but this was very disappointing second time around, I believe staff need to provide correct information re appts for future. Thanks.
Who on Earth hires the phone operators? They greet calls completely unprofessionally, they snap at questions, speak over you and are condescending and sarcastic. It's completely unnecessary for these phone operators to behave like this and treat us like animals. What is the point of conducting calls in this manner? What is it achieving? There are people calling the hospital who might have family who were admitted, have a little compassion. I understand there are awful people who attack nurses and doctors and that is completely unacceptable. But these phone operators conduct themselves so aggressively and unprofessionally for absolutely no reason. It's quite frankly disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves.
I work here regularly as an agency staff member, and literally every experience, hard as it often is,has been very positive, right away I always get told, We are a team,we are here for you,.. I'm writing a review today as I was blown away with the care from a particular nurse I worked along side today whilst she was training a student nurse, her care of patients and detail was absolutely lovely to see,not discounting any one else, you are all amazing caring people, this particular nurse went above and beyond, and I made a point of saying such ,your entire staff are very special individuals, this is a great place to work, and a great place to be if you need help, frankston hospital rocks,All The Staff Are Amazing.
I just would like to say a huge Thank-you to the nurses and doctors in the AMSU ward who worked with beds 1-4 Tuesday - Thursday You were all incredible. I appreciate all the work you guys do and it truly didn’t go unnoticed. Also would like to thank the maternity ward for the care they provided as-well back in October you guys were incredible as-well. Also a thank you to the staff in the special care nursery who looked after our beautiful baby boy Levi you guys were amazing and really supported my husband and I through our first weeks of parent hood. I would highly recommend Frankston hospital they’re very supportive, kind, friendly and have gone above and beyond for my family. Your work does not go unnoticed
I nearly died having my third baby here in April this year. During a planned c -section an artery was ruptured and missed and I was sewn back up ,for hours after they tried to find out what was wrong with me as I kept passing out and was in excruciating pain i had a large internal bleed and ended up needing 6 blood transfusions and two procedures which means I now have coils in my artery I spent three days in ICU away from my baby and was not able to breastfeed or do any skin to skin, I’m still black from the internal bleed and blood pooling in my abdomen 5 months later . The most traumatic experience of my life . I’d strongly advise no expecting mother to have their baby at this hospital.
I had the misfortune of developing heart issues in recent weeks and have returned home after a short stay in Frankston Hospital's cardiology ward. Having had negative experiences with hospitals as a kid, I have anxiety and phobia about health issues and combined with my physical illness, I was expecting my time in hospital to be an ordeal. However, excellent care from the amazingly kind, sympathetic and understanding nursing and cardiology staff at Frankston Hospital was simply a game changer. I am very grateful for the extra mile everyone went for me. I have also found hospital outpatient processes to be efficient and well explained by staff. Thank you, Frankston Hospital.
Spent the last 10hrs at the ED in Frankston hospital, and still didn't get to see a doctor.. WORST hospital I've ever been to in my life, so disorganized to say the least. After a car bingle on a freeway at and all airbags deploying and the car being a right-off, you would think one would get seen within 10hrs in the ED waiting room. Husband had a confirmed fracture on his hand from an x-ray elsewhere taken today and I went for a 'check up' for neck and back soreness plus 'severe' as the GP stated bruising in the abdominal area and recommended we both have CT scans at the hospital. What a joke that turned out to be. Definitely will never waste our time there again.
I have been twice to Frankston Emergency regarding my son. He was 3 years old in 2020 . It took 8 hours just to see him. He is happy go nature kid so they come and see him dancing around , will ask us to wait. He has 104 degree fever still we have to wait whole night. This time he has his finger severely cut with football at his kinder . We got him at 8:15 at emergency as GP referred him to hospital. Now it is 2:00am next morning still we are waiting him to be seen. Either they severely understaffed or they do not care that a 5 year old has been sitting outside for 6 hours straight just to see a doctor. I do not know why it is called developed country.
Grateful to the staff in pediatrics namely Brianna, Tyler, Teema and nurses in recovery, (angel nurse, mum of three year old boy who let us use her own phone for an hour to watch Bluey after operation) also big Thankyou to the kind and sweet Asian man who brought our food, also the cleaning staff and reception ❤️ Much smoother experience than expected. Upset with hospital admin that my very legitimate and much needed mask exemption was ignored (I have emphysema and cannot take deep breaths let alone in a mask), but thank goodness your staff have humanity and compassion which makes up for that lacking in admin and policy makers.
10/ 10 for the care and compassion shown to us tonight from this hospital. From the doctor attending us so promptly and his wonderful bedside manner over to Kelly ( nurse in ED) who went above and beyond with her amazing care, clear communication and her devotion to looking after all of her patients. Georga ( nurse in ED) with her kindness and caring nature .Truly blessed to have such a kind supportive nurse looking after us. and to have such a excellent hospital for our community. We thank all of you for making this hospital a place for hidden true heros to the most vunerable and from all of us who need you!
I had a bad experience birthing my baby here. Every appointment I met with a totally different midwife, which made it impersonal and required that I repeat myself over and over. The night of my birth the midwives on duty just looked exhausted, and the one who helped birth my baby was a total ring-in who didn't even know her way around the birthing suite. The doctor's were pushy, unnecessary interventions took place and I left totally traumatised. Have a homebirth if you're a well woman, because at this hospital you are treated as though you have a problem.
Thank you to my doctors Sam, Lisa and Rebecca, resident doctors Hugh and I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the second person, nurse staff Mary, Emma, Leng and Rita, and allied health professionals Ray. I am grateful for your meaningful communication and support. I felt very safe and well informed. The information provided to me was delivered in a way that it was not overstimulating, and allowed this new experience to be more predictable . As a result, it eased my anxiety throughout the process. Thankful for such an amazing group of people.
Nurses were so good, they made you feel comfortable in your surroundings, doctors were clear with reports, I asked if they could please talk slowly and they were apologising before I finished, they said very sorry of course due to you're stroke. They we're so great about it all. All staff have to go through so much day in day out, my hat really goes off to them. Please everyone make sure we give them a big thank you, not grief remember there all putting there lives on the line for us all. Please except my deepest appreciation
Came in by ambulance, had blood clots on my lungs very hard to breathe, the care I got from the majority of the medical team was awesome, I am now home and learning to deal with my current situation. To pass the time I instagramed my meals, they were pretty good considering how many have to be made and my allergy. But the hospital overall was pretty good the attention was good and I went through 3 areas Emergency, ICU and then in a ward for a couple of days to go home I am very pleased with how I was treated
From Frankston Hospital’s ED to ICU teams, everyone including receptionists, social workers and nurses and doctors has been incredible in our experience. They saved my husband’s life following a heart attack and cardiac arrest, and gave him the best possible care during his recovery. At all times, they were professional, caring and supportive, even when working with challenging COVID-19 regulations. Our family is so grateful to this excellent hospital, which we are lucky to have on our doorstep. Thank you.
My disabled daughter went to Frankston hospital because her leg was badly swollen and she was in pain, they said it was only muscular and sent her home without an xray, she put up with the pain for a week went to Casey hospital where they did an xray and found she had a broken femur , she is now in dandenong hospital, and has had surgery, so THANKS FOR NOTHING FRANKSTON HOSPITAL for prolonging my daughters pain, just because she is disabled doesn't mean she can't feel pain.Take more precautions next time
I love Frankston hospital, the staff/nurses at the infusion centre are absolutely gorgeous, they are sweet accommodating and informative, it was a pleasure to visit and be surrounded by such an awesome team of hard-working angels. The emergency staff / doctors, and the specialists team are also thorough and caring individuals during my many visits there. Given the constant pressure, a pandemic as well with dealing abuse they sometimes face, Frankston hospital is certainly a well oiled machine.
I can't fault the care received for the birth of my first baby. I was in the advanced maternal age category, had gestational diabetes and had to be induced at 36 weeks due to my baby having low growth and the information and follow up appointments I received along the way made me feel I was in good hands. My baby was in the Special Care Nursery for 5 days while I had a private room nearby and I was so reassured that he was well looked after by his "aunties" until he was well enough to go home.
I gave birth to my child here and also had to come to emergency recently and both were terrible experiences. The younger midwives and nurses were so lovely, caring and accomodating so these stars are for them. The older midwives need to revaluate if they even want to work in this field with the way they treated me. Extremely understaffed with doctors and beds. I’ll never come here again unless there’s no other option. Sandringham were 100% more attentive and caring, especially with children.
I had an emergency C Section in Frankston Hospital Maternity Ward. For the second time i give birth to this hospital they are always been great!! They look after me. Staff even took my baby and look after him through the night so that i can sleep after the surgery. The surgeon and Anaesthesiologist with other staff inside of the surgery room are the best as well. Assure me that everything will be ok. Thank you Frankston Hospital for giving me a good experience for the second time.
Thank you to the lovely nurses especially Natalie in emergency who looked after me when I was in a lot of pain and stayed with me for my entire x-ray process. Thank you also to the lovely doctors including Dr Ted who diagnosed my condition and offered me kindness and respect at all times. A wonderful team at Frankston who deal with around 200 people a day through the emergency department. You all reassured me and made me feel safe in a time in which I was very unwell thank you.
I had an overall fantastic experience at Frankston hospital maternity ward. The midwives were all amazing except one lady. Getting rushed in for an emergency c section I was scared and it being my first pregnancy, the team were absolutely amazing talking me through everything. The student nurses were fantastic and gives me high hopes for the future nurses. Big shout out to Samille the midwife who guided me through the labour and subsequent c section, she was amazing.
Staff great, only complaint high price of parking and food. Vending machines for drinks state $2.85, not until you tap do you find out you have been charged extra. The total price should be displayed. The machines accept notes, however most said no change. The ER waiting chairs, some are worn with holes in them and on a lean forward, theses should be replaced. However I can't stress enough how good the doctors and nurses are here at Frankston, Peninsula Health.
My experience with Frankston Hospital was exceptional. The nurses Drs the kindness was unbelievable. I had had a heart attack my sister was upstairs having chemo because of acute myalord leukaemia l didn't know how to tell her l was afraid but the nurses got me to see her and explain everything to her it was wonderful. The coronary Dr spoke to her telling her l would be going to the Alfred. Wonderful Hospital wonderful people thankyou. On my departure the
I went to Frankston hospital for the first time in emergency last Saturday with a suspected minor stroke, they were fantastic, doctors were with me within five minutes. I went up to the stroke ward for a few days and the nurses and doctors were wonderful, I would say as I am a public patient it was the best hospital I have been too, so much care, so thank you to you all in the emergency and stroke ward. I could not fault them all who looked after my care.
I attended the Radiology Department at Frankston hospital yesterday for a CT Coronary Angiogram. My nurses were Vanessa and Wendy. Both were highly professional, friendly, competent and reassuring. The procedure was streamline and efficient. The reception staff and car parking lady very helpful. The CT nurse and Radiographer were fabulous too. Thank you so much for a good experience. Oh and a new CT machine a wonderful bonus! Thank you for your service.
I'm sitting in the E.D confirmed covid positive and immune supprest. Nurses are not even wearing gloves when checking me.... they aren't wearing N95s. I'm actually scared I'm infecting so many people in E.D and the staff don't seem to care or have any infection control. This is disgusting frankston.. I'll never be coming back again as I don't feel safe for me and others. There's people here with cancer and u have me sitting in the same room as them ?
Hi Sam, don’t bother with your scripted response below! because this department is Absolutely awful. I was made to sleep on the cold floor for 8 hours waiting for a doctor, after waiting 4 in the ED I got fed up with the lack of care taken for my well being and as soon as I wanted to discharge the paperwork couldn't have come faster. What a joke! I just left for Monash health. Would never recommend peninsula health. It wasn’t even busy. Useless!
The moment you feel defeated and break down in tears, you sit in hospital for 3-4 hours only to get looked at by a useless doctor that says you can go home now your blood work and blood pressure is fine!! After calling an ambulance at work because you almost pass out from 4 days of bloodloss. Ive lost all faith in our healthcare system. The paramedics that came to pick me up did a better job at taking care of me than the actual hospital...
I am in frankston hospital right now. Horse stood on foot and cant feel anything and heard a crunch. I have been here a total OF 15 HOURS and all they have done is an xray.. this is ridiculous. They let a girl in ieth some mental condidtion who was there in a room talking about her milk and how to know whaich one is hers snd her housemates.. the staff are nice but please just put the boot on and let me go. Never want to come back
The most disgusting hospital with many uncaring staff, my daughter has had the unfortunate experience of having to be admitted here several times & each time I (who live interstate) have had to call the hospital demanding she be cared for properly. Pain medication not kept up with as directed by doctor, pre existing conditions not taken into account & just non compassionate staff( except for a few) who should not be nurses
I spent approximately:35 days in icu ( a lot of time in a coma ) The nurses were the most patient people you could ask for ! And the doctors were very thorough and helpful ! If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be here today . Nurses deserve a lot more money than what our gov think they deserve! They work so hard , yet still are always ready to listen to a patient ! Thankyou to all staff who looked after me )
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Frankston Hospital who took care of me and nursed back to health. I came into ED 2 days ago in SEVERE pain and discomfort. Turns out something was wrong with my intestines. I went from level 10 pain to 1, ready to go home. The doctors were fantastic, the nurses supreme and support staff terrific. Thank you to all the staff at Frankston Hospital, you are the real super heroes.
They are very good at Frankston hospital, very professional and thorough. My 90 year mum was admitted Monday with Vascular ulcer issues. She had already had a stent put in her right leg, on Wednesday night they put a stent in her left leg. The Surgeon rang me at 9.10pm to say the procedure was about to start and phoned again after the procedure to say all had gone well. I think that is pretty impressive.
I had a broken hip replaced about 8 months ago. I did do a review then but I don’t know where it went. I experienced 9 days of wonderful nursing. In spite of being short staffed and tired the treatment I received was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone I had contact with was kind and caring. I couldn’t speak highly enough of ever aspect, and the food was good too!
Have been a patient in the ED twice in the last fortnight with respiratory health problems and was admitted once. I cannot speak highly enough of the expert, reassuring and friendly care I received from both medical and nursing staff. The care I received from Bass Ward staff was equally as high. We are indeed fortunate in having such a High ranking Hospital in the Franktson area
For the most part, they're pretty good. However, one night we were there for 6+ hours waiting in emergency, and at no stage were we updated with rough times on when we would get in. Numerous occasions people came in and were attended to within an hour. We asked if they thought with their nursing tests our case was worth staying for to see the doctor, and they refused to answer.
I want to thank the staff at Frankston hospital who cared for my mother Jennifer Lewis, when she suffered a stroke in July. Doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, speech pathologist,, palliative care team were all exemplary, compassionate and considerate. Likewise when my father, Rhys Lewis passed away some years ago, their treatment was faultless. Outstanding care and attention.
Love the women’s health/sexual health clinic here! Cathy and her team were very nice and understanding, I had the green whistle for my IUD insertion and was only charged $20 dollars for the whole thing! Way better than other clinic’s prices. To my knowledge they also offer sedation for IUD insertions but I’m not too sure of the cost involved. If you want an IUD go here!
Angry passive aggressive Karen at the reception during night shift needs to go. Sorry if you're miserable but that's no excuse to make others miserable as well. I don't need to name names because I've spoke with staff at the hospital and they know who she is and agree with me. Guarantee if you say "that Karen at reception" they'll 100% know exactly who you're on about.
I went to my GP who was concerned enough to refer me to ED for urgent management for elevated heart rate, shortness of breath, ulcer on cornea. I have now been sitting here for 6 hours and nobody can give me any idea of how much longer I will be!!!! Appalling! I did the right thing and did not use ED as first option but it makes no difference!
Thank you to Nurse Dinu (spelling?) and Dr Bella who provided care to my daughter in the ED this week. Very thorough and caring staff. I’ve come to Frankston Hospital several times over the years including maternity and emergency and have always had a positive experience. This is the hospital I trust the most with my family. Thank you
Thank you to all the wonderful nurses and doctors at this wonderful hospital. Two births, a couple of operations and many emergency visits with little ones over the years, we always leave feeling well cared for an confident in the care we’ve received. Thank you thank you thank you. You all (with the odd exception) do such an amazing job ♥️
Emergency just takes too long. The number of people that just walked out after a long wait untreated was astounding. After 5 hours with a young child and potentially broken bone, we did the same. Will see the gp and get and x-ray referral instead. Much quicker during normal hours to do this.....Nice staff but the department is a disgrace.
Stayed for 5 days in general ward. Nurses stand around gossiping like High School students, registrer doctors just as bad and they put patients who have suffered DV and assault in wards with only men. It's an embarrassment to our public health system. Thank you to Head of Nursing who actually stepped in and assisted with the situation.
My wife was taken to Frankston Hospital with severe migraine pain. The attention from doctors and nursing staff was first class. Fortunately it seems it was a very severe migraine, but there was nothing left to chance with scans and very thorough investigation of the issue. Thank you to all, very friendly and professional.
Was admitted on Wednesday after I presented with gut pain to ED. Was up in a ward within 2 hours. I spent 3 days as a patient, where the team there looked after me very well. Special thanks to the nurses, Stacey, Tom, Brooke, Kasey, Ray, Silvi and Zoe from Ward 5GS. The care I received was excellent and very appreciated.
Thoroughly impressed with the staff and procedures at the hospital during my 2 day procedures. Very thorough and friendly, I felt very looked after; loved the heated up warm blankets! I went through the public hospital and can not believe how lucky we are in this country to have all this care without paying. Thank you!!!
Brought my daughter who had a fish bore easily seen on her left tonsil. Arrived 1130pm and attending nurse actually saw the fish born. Kept waiting on the waiting room with no communication. At 3 pm my daughter was taken for an Xray (for a visible fish bone?). Still waiting after that and no further communication.
The hospital is not bad the staff is fantastic he unfortunately thing with the hospital is the appointment times to going to a radiology for a scan and that it’s takes three days to go and get a MRI and the food is like a Third World for a modern hospital. The hospital not really good and it’s a public hospital.
A massive thanks to the Hospital for seeing how much pain my son was in and attending to him quickly. A special mention to the Radiography department who managed him so well getting him into positions and talking him through the pain so we could find what was wrong. The doctor was also great - thanks (Hannah)
Frankston hospital is all around an amazing service for our community. From emergency to the short stay units, to the wards, and the ICU unit. The nurses and doctors are phenomenal. The specialists listen to you and are highly knowledgeable. This is one service I only have positive things to say about.
Wonderful staff who care dearly about you, poor nurses and doctors are overworked like all hospitals at this time. Regardless of this, they still make sure I get the best care possible. Can't thank them enough for making sure I have all the supports I need to live as independently as possible with my MS
I cannot thank the doctors, nurses and all carers and staff at Frankston Hospital, I’ve had many admissions and procedures done here and the care and professional services and support they give is always excellent, so thankful to have a great public hospital with exceptional medical staff …
This hospital is disgusting. I’m still waiting for my discharge summary, our sons discharge summary if we didn’t take him from the hospital to another hospital. There is a chance he would be dead the staff and nurses and surgeons at the hospital do not care about the you or anything we are just a number
5 stars to the staff in the maternity department! All are competent, passionate about their work and manage to keep providing professional care in an under-resourced environment. We found them invariably caring, and deserve more resources to deal with the unpredictable nature of childbirth.
Need to give these guys 5 stars or more. All the ambulance staff , doctors and nurses and other staff. I cannot express how I feel thankful to them to save my husband's life from urgent pneumonia a week ago. Thank you so much! These guys did a wonderful job with limited resources.
Good hospital, EXCEPT THE RIP OFF TO GET FREE TO AIR TV $70 FOR 5 DAYS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING EVEN TO PARK YOUR CAR TO SEE A LOVED ONE COSTS A FORTUNE, ID SAY SHAME ON YOU BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CONSCIOUS, To all the staff your wonderful and amazing humans director's not included
Disgusting! 2 ques in emergency, one of them the Triage nurse can 1 finger type. About 32 degrees. I was brought in by ambulance, if I was able to stand in ques for hours, it wouldn't be a bloody emergency. STOP PUMPING MONEY INTO RENEVATIONS AND CONCENTRATE ON CARE.
I was in Emergency on Wednesday 30th April. I was in excruciating pain but only waited a short while 2 be attended to. The staff, all that I came in contact with were fabulous & the nurse called Lisa was very knowledgeable. Thankyou as it helped me a lot.
Visited Frankston Hospital today as a patient in the day procedure area and I just want to say that their service in all areas was excellent and compared favourably with treatments I have had in Private Hospitals. Well done, ten out of ten from me.
First time at this hospital, had a fall at work. Got there and got the x ray maybe an hour ir 2 later, they said there was a fracture in my elbow but apparently that wasn’t severe enough as I had to wait another 3-4 hours waiting for a doc
Staff are great waiting times the worst I've ever experienced out of most Melbourne hospitals I waited 8 hours to be seen and was there 12,hours. When I left the emergency room was full hate to think the wait time would be 10 plus hours.
Recently I had the opportunity to experience the Frankston Hospital facilities. From the very beginning of my arrival to leaving two days later, I received nothing but the very best treatment. In fact, I marvelled at just how jolly good
ED department-- the wait time was about 41/2 to 5 hours on a Tuesday night, the doctor that attend to me sent me for xrays, blood tests, COVID test which never happened, and sent me to the petrol station to pick up neufin, I saw my own
There was inaccurate communication shared across staff, no communication between the staff and our family, and shockingly insufficient follow up care for my dad post surgery. He was forced to leave the hospital after just 2 sleepless,
My son was admitted into the emergency department on Saturday night. I would like to congratulate all the staff particularly the admitting nurse and the security workers attached to the Emergency ward, they were very professional and
I was very impressed by the care my husband received when taken to the emergency department. ALL staff we friendly, caring and effective at their jobs. The specialist was particularly good as he went out of his way to find the best
Customer service at the port philip ward today was horrible an older lady by the name of Sylvia or Sylvana was so rude not only to us but also to others she obviously does not have a hart . I can not believe this hospital
Every person we dealt with in either the Emergency Dept or Maternity/Women’s Health were exceptional. They were super lovely and attentive and took everything they did seriously. Can’t fault the service we received here.
I got treated amazing, the stuff is incredible and the amount of care amazed me. The doctors did my procedures very effectively with absolutely zero pain and with maximum comfort. I highly recommend Frankston Hospital.
The staff were fantastic they were so friendly and helpful. The hospital was very clean, inviting to stay when your little ones are sick I would recommend it to everyone frankston children hospital is a great hospital
We had our first born baby boy , I would like to thank every nurse in the maternity ward , doctors they were all amazing. The after care with midwife’s following up the next day was so good to get some extra care .
From consultation to surgery to discharge every single staff member was supportive, informative, caring, respectful and kind. We have an amazing public system and Frankston is up there with the best...thank you ❤️
I’ve been at Frankston for 3 days now and all my nurses have been so incredibly friendly and understanding. Super helpful! I prefer this hospital over a few I have been to! Thank you for taking care of me
Nothing but great things to say about the level of care I received while at Frankston Hospital. I’m very grateful, huge thank you to everyone involved in looking after me over the past 3 days! …
My dad stayed here earlier this year & had a pacemaker installed to help his heart. Both the Cardiology team and general nursing staff were terrific, very professional and looked after him really well.
I can not thank all the staff who looked after me In short stay and SSSU, while I stayed in hospital. You were all so friendly and warm. You made my stay so much more comfortable. Thank you all again
I went there for a COVID test, the results came back quickly. All the staff I spoke to while I was there were friendly. The COVID testing area was comfortable and perfectly climate controlled.
I’ve been going to the Frankston hospital all my life had all my children there and I always felt like I was in a private hospital as they look after you so much best hospital I’ve ever known
Thank you Frankston Hospital for your dedicated, and wonderful care. From doctors and nurses to Customer Service ladies. You all do such a fantastic job! L. Carpenter
Busy place. Nurses are great, Dr is hard to find and talk to about patient issues though. New and modern hospital. Cafe available although I did not use it.
They were so nice very kind had sympathy for help I needed. Kind staff Drs nurses & looked after my father and me. Thank you all for your help …
I came with ambos to emergency at about 12 but waited till 6 then I self discharged due to long wait times.not satisfying though.
Very helpful and caring staff on the wards, excellent service, the nurses are doin their best. Thank you to all staff
Emergency is awful, staff are nice but you will wait for hours with no end in sight
