This has been the worst customer experience we have ever had. Everything and everyone inside the store with the initial sale were fine! however, the product we eventually received wasn't as stable as we would have hoped. We didn’t get to use our outdoor furniture much with a new kid taking up our time but when we did it was clearly a defective product. We put a claim in through warranty, and eventually, a freedom repairman came out and said they would put longer screws in, different colors but we were just happy they would be fixed. The repairman after a while of trying said they couldn’t be fixed that they were defective and that he would let freedom know. 3 weeks later Freedom email us confirming they will replace the chairs when the stock arrives. sometime later we get an email confirming the stock has arrived, then it goes bad. We get another email saying sorry we are unable to replace this product as it is out of stock. We talk about the other email and the fact that they sell the product online, chat says its available and the customer rep at Aspley says its available. I email them all this information They say its not available and offer us credit below what it costs to purchase the same chairs in their store, which of course, are available for purchase right now! but they cost more now? We purchased this in a set and now we have to pay more individually? because their product is defective? That’s not right. months later they are still (replying once a month) saying that they can give us store credit that leaves us out of pocket when re-purchasing them.... from their website! again, which are available! These chairs are apart of a full set , what can i do with half a set? - BUT not once have they have acknowledged at any time that the stock is available... i have sent links and chat transcripts saying this stock is available, they have not acknowledged anything we have said to them and continue to repeat same insufficient offers. We have had unusable furniture for months now and their only resolution is for us to pay more to have what we already paid $7K for. We spent over 12k on all our purchases with them and now we wont ever shop their again because they have wasted our time for months over $300. This issue is still not resolved.
Hi Freedom Aspley, Lisa is a fantastic team member and you should very happy with the service she provides for your customers. Lisa's service is a 10 out of 10. The Manager on the other hand, well where do I start!!!! At the end of the day they need an attitude change. The customer isn't always right, but if you make it hard for the customer to buy products that you sell, they will leave. If the Manager makes your customers feel like an idiot they will leave as well. In this age the customer has the power to leave bad reviews. In the old days if you had bad service you would tell 10 people, today we can leave Google, Facebook ect reviews so that can now reach 1000's of people. You're managment should look at having some training from Martin Grunstein, as he would say "you can be right or you can be happy". The Manager that was on today made it all too hard for my wife and I to spend about $1,800 on a dining table. We could live with the 6 to 8 week lead time and the fact that we would have to pay half the cost as a deposit (with no guarantee that it would be here or if you would be in receivership. With all the businesses that have gone into receivership, the customer is taking the risk). What we were not ok with was the only option of collecting the table was at Richlands or $99 in delivery. We live at Warner Qld and to drive to Richlands Qld to pick the table up would be about an 1 hour drive there and an 1 hour back. The Manager that was so self-righteous, they wouldn't leave their office to talk to the customer directly. How is this making the customer happy?
Went to this store today & was browsing at floor rugs that were on special.. A female store assistant walked past & told us the one we were looking at had been discontinued & was therefore discounted to $99. It also had a sign on it for $99.. After thinking about it we told the male store assistant we would take it & he rolled it up & took it to the counter to process the sale.. He said they could take a further $15 off as it was discontinued stock & the cost would now be $345. After querying this & stating that the female staff member told us it was only $99 he again said no it’s $345.. He then unrolled the rug (which he’d rolled up) & there was the $99 sign.. He then told us that someone had put it on the wrong product.. Obviously we didn’t purchase it & felt extremely disappointed with the service.. We then purchased some timber wall hooks that were displayed at $10 but when we got to the counter were told they were actually $13 & that someone must have put them in the wrong place.. Incredibly bad service & VERY unprofessional.. Next time we’ll be going to another Freedom Store
We choose Freedom Kitchens based on a lot of research and several conversations with the Freedom team at Aspley who were on the the surface very professional and reasurring. The designer came out to the hose as planned and did her magic so she thought on our design. She tried to talk us into all types of finishes that we didn't want. The designer talked out out of continuing our design as we wanted and as a result we were left with a 1 metre space that we couldn't do anything with. We had to go back to Freedom to arrange and they were non to pleased to do that extra for us stating that this was outside the original order and we would have to arrange installers. We couldn't sign in to the system for 3 weeks which delayed the process and when I tried to contact the designer she didn't return my calls for up to 3 days or she left a message. All in all I won't be rushing to use the Aspley Branch of Freedom based on our experience. Be careful not to rush into dealing with this branch.
Spent $7K on sofas. Was told they'd be "4-6 months". Took 8 months. One sofa was broken on arrival. Awful warranty claim experience ... buggy phone system clearly designed to prevent you from ever reaching a human being. You're required to lodge a form and photos of "the problem". Even when you explain you can't photograph "the problem" because it's in the internal mechanism of the sofa, they refuse to progress the claim until they get a photo. Oh, and their delivery truck knocked over my letterbox as it left my property, and didn't bother to stop. UPDATE: despite their platitudes below ... the only contact I've received is to again require the photos that physically can't be provided. UPDATE: Freedom ghosted me until a year later, when I got the Office of Fair Trading to represent me, who forced them to make good on fixing their broken product. I will never buy from Freedom again, and recommend you avoid them like the plague.
If possible, try and avoid buying from Freedom! I ordered furniture over 7 months ago and it has still not arrived. When paying premium prices (upfront) it is a fair expectation to receive premium service. Sadly, this has not been the case. My delivery date has been moved from September, to October, to November and now to December. Whilst I suspect this is in part due to Covid-19, I have received very minimal contact from the company (no explanation of why my order is late, where it is, nor an apology). On each occasion I've had to follow-up with the store themselves who I suspect are stuck in-between a rock and hard place. I have ordered furniture from both Adairs and Early Settler whose products have not only been quality, but the service provided has also been impeccable. As such, If you are wanting quality furniture, coupled with wonderful and helpful customer service I would recommend these stores first.
Rang the Aspley store today. There was no answer. I waited 10 min and rang again. No answer. I tried a further 7 times all with a 8-10 break in between. Still no answer. I end ended up driving in from pure frustration. 2 Staff were serving customers while the phone was ringing non stop. I end up walking out as there was a big line up of customers waiting at the counter as well. I rang the Windsor store who answered their phone straight away. I was after a particular product which they had confirmed they had in the store. As I walked in the store they too were also very busy however they had one staff member who was there answering all the phone calls while the other two were serving. It was a much better run store. Aspley store needs to remember that phone calls are potential customers also. Window store got the sale today for purely answering their phone.
Visited Aspley Freedom store on Sunday and was just browsing. Then Melissa the fabulous sales assistant came around asking if anyone needed assistance.. I put up my hand and with a brilliant smile came and helped me with my queries. Nothing was too much, she explained everything about the product I was interested in. She was so pleasant and professional, I bought my patio sofa lounge! We love it! It was such a lovely experience.. to have someone who enjoys her job and be so helpful. Also, have to mention the whole experience.. as I then purchased a few other items, was great. If all stores had brilliant sales people like Melissa.. I think sales would be up 150%..Take notice.. brilliant sales people who are willing to help sell!! Thanks Melissa and the lovely environment you bring to this store!!
Poor quality of products and very slow response to complaints. I ordered a dining table and a recliner lounge. The faulty dining table with splits was delivered and I placed a claim for a technician to come and look on 14 Dec 2022 to replace or fix. Today is 14 Jan 2023 and they still haven't contacted to arrange a visit yet. The online customer service hasn't even replied to my follow up emails to find out when they are going to call me after waiting for a month. Surprisingly, the online customer service team initially said they would contact me within 3~4 business days. Let's see how long it takes for them to contact me to get this right.
Try another Freedom store. I've visited this store a few times and the service has been fair, however when I approached the store after being mislead there was no action taken to come up with a solution. When I spoke with the store manager Yvonne, I was immediately greeted with an argument and that set the scene for the duration of the conversation. There was no intention of trying to help my situation, and I wasn't unreasonable with my requests. What happened to friendly customer service and a can do attitude. It's a real shame because the store itself isn't to bad, there is a good selection of homewares, and a large range of furniture.
Wow, just wow.. got absolutely stuffed around with a pick up of a coffee table from their richlands warehouse. Was advised that the table would be a flat pack but upon pick up it was a massive box which didn’t even fit our SUV. Dimension of the package was not even discussed with me when I purchased the item and just that it “should” fit. Called the store and the person over the phone was just straight up being a pr!ck with no apologies or anything. Ended up paying just so I can have the item. Never going back and will be passing on this experience to everyone
I love freedom and the products they sell. Though often over priced we have bought a lot of our home decor from there. Nevertheless the customer service has much to wish for. Most of them, even when spending thousands of dollars at a go act like they are doing you a favor. Though there are some exceptional exceptions. One who truly goes above and beyond to assist is Hannah. She has always provided the best service and always remains positive. Without her there we probably would have bought half of the things we have. Hannah you are a true star
Is nearly five months an acceptable delivery time (when originally told 9-11 weeks)? Is it ok to send emails pushing out delivery dates with no other contact? We placed an order and paid over $3000 mid February 2021. Our original delivery dates were mid-to-end-of April. We were emailed in early April and told the new delivery date was to be mid June. Just now we have received another email pushing out the delivery to first week of July. Very poor timelines, very poor customer service. We won't be ordering from here again.
I previously had terrible service here. Though the last two times was absolutely fabulous. I ended up speaking to the interior decorator there Penny and she was wonderful. I ended up getting the at home consult and it was worth every bit of the $150. So helpful and not pushy at all and actually listened to what I needed and wanted. I ended up buying two sets of lounges from them. I couldn't fault the service if anything it was the best service I've had in years. Keep up that great customer service.
I was happy with my experiences until I actually used the products. The quality of the products is terrible. The soap dispenser leaked at first than it got a hole... This is after 4 months of use... I also got bathroom mats, it has soo much fluff, even after several washes, it gets everywhere. Would not recommend any bathroom & kitchen products. Had to replace every I got from there. Terrible waste of money. Much happier with the items I replaced all of them with from Kmart and IKEA.
Worst place I have ever been to. The Indian looking guy( Dunnonif he is the manager) has the worst customer service. It doesn’t look like he is there to help customers, rather be rude. The store indeed has a huge range of things but I would rather drive long distance and go to other freedom stores than coming to Aspley. You should up your game guys. You are not doing a favour to the Customers, It’s rather the opposite.
I have had nothing but excellent service at this store, every time I have been. Last week, one of the assistants spent about 45 minutes helping me choose a centre piece for my dining room table, giving me some brilliant advice and great decorator ideas. We ordered two sofas towards the end of November, which arrived nearly a month sooner than anticipated, and they are lovely. Keep up the good work, Freedom (Aspley)!
Great stock and friendly, helpful staff. The store is clean and has lots of different areas for different types of furniture and accessories. However, the prices of most of the furnishings sold are pretty expensive, but that price that you pay mostly goes towards the quality of the furniture. If you want a discount, there are many types of loyalty programs (like RACQ) that will give you a discount.
Their Aftersales service is absolutely appalling - no ownership for the inconvenience caused regarding our delivery. All Alex, assistant store manager did was play victim and say he couldn't do anything and Yvonne, store manager only just apologised and didn't offer any compensation! We spent over $3000 and my partner had to put the couch together himself and your delivery people are liars!
I've spent more than $500 online in curtains which came quite fast to collect at this store. Later I realized I needed a $4 joiner that after more than a week after my online purchase it hasn't arrived. I called the store today and after waiting 10 min on the phone they just told me I just need to wait for the pick up confirmation. They simply ignored a $4 order and forgot to process it.
My parther and I spent $6000 here a few months ago on 2 lounges, cushions and an outdoor setting, and a hallway table. We returned today and found a chopping board labeled as $7, However the manager refused to give it to us at that price. They said it was a mis print, this place is more then happy to take your money but will not help out the old customer.
Brilliant service and great delivery service too. Peter and Jamie from Unitrans did a wonderful job and would certainly recommend Freedom’s great prices and brilliant experience. Wasn't that impressed. Ofcorse it's expensive but when I walked in the sales lady was loudly explaining how unreliable freedom is with their deliveries of furniture and wanted to be "real" with the customer. It didn't intice me to want to spend any money on any of the over priced furniture so we walked back out.
We regularly shop at Aspley Freedom due to the fantastic staff at the store. One person in particular always goes above and beyond to assist you, he explains the product and makes shopping a pleasure. Max you are a credit to Freedom. Do what you can to keep hold of this employee. Well done.
This store refuses to accept an order cancellation for a product that they cannot supply for another 3 - 6 weeks. Poor customer service over the phone, no attempt at all to resolve issue. Will never purchase another item from Freedom ever again. ACCC report submitted.
Worst Kitchen company in Australia. Please do not book with them. We have been delayed and delayed over and over with no reasonable explanation provided. Poor customer service and we are still waiting for delivery, over 7 months from first meeting to delivery.
Terrible experience! Dealt with a really unfriendly manager named Alex who had no idea how to work with customers. This was not our first time having a poor experience at this branch. He told us he didn't care about our business and had ridiculous attitude.
Very friendly staff, lots of products to choose from at great prices. Only thing is the wait for an item. 14 weeks to get the coffee table we liked. Once covid settled we might come back. Thank you to Sarah for the excellent customer service.

17 days for order to arrive, where I made 2 calls and Freedom = none. Good thing it was efficient process to visit pickup dock after hours with some paperwork and load up the item
Quite a large store but as usual, when you don't want to be pounced on by sales staff, they do. If you wanted help from sales staff, you wouldn't be able to get it.
