Do not rent from them and do not use Hotwire. Update: tried your link to submit feedback and I get the request is not valid error. Looks like a sql error. Here are the details of this situation: I booked a car rental through Hotwire and the website said i would just need a credit card for the deposit. After arriving at Hertz the clerk told me that i cannot rent a car because i paid with a debit card through Hotwire. I told her I had a credit for the deposit and if needed everything can just be put on my credit card. The only option she gave was to cancel my reservation and charge me a higher rate, I said no. I called Hotwire and they told me I had call Hertz. After calling hertz customer service I spoke with someone who helped me get my money back. I wish I was told about this issue a week before my trip date when I rented the car, I probably would have been able to fix it. I followed the directions on Hotwires website and even Hertz's website and their customer service number has an automated message that says this is well. Despite that i was treated poorly at the rental location and told there is nothing they can do. As you can see below here are the policies from both Hotwire and Hertz. It says on Hotwires website: "The agency does not accept debit/check card deposits, but does accept credit card deposits. See important debit card info" "Car rentals: Keep in mind while you may pay for your car rental booking with a debit card, many car rental companies will not accept a debit card as a deposit when you pick up the vehicle, and you will be denied rental if you don't have a credit card for the deposit. International car rental companies will only accept credit cards and require that you have as much as $1,000 in available funds on the card." Hertz's website: Hertz accepts American Express, MasterCard, Carte Blanche, Visa, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, China Union Pay and some debit cards. We may place an authorized hold on your credit/debit card to cover the estimated rental charges plus up to USD $200.00 for any additional charges that may be incurred. These funds will not be available for your use. Hertzs customer service phone has and automated message that say you can use your debit/credit card This is all very misleading. I will not be using either of these companies in the future.

I had a reservation with this company. I set my reservation for 2:30pm, and I also put my flight information in the request showing that my flight didn't land until 2:50pm. We landed just a little after the scheduled landing time. After getting my baggage, and ordering a Lyft to take me to this Hertz, that took about roughly another 30-35 mins. The driver took off to the location. Of course, Indianapolis has tones of construction going on so we were stuck in traffic. We didn't end up making it to the location until right about 4:00pm. I went inside and spoke with the lady behind the desk, about obtaining rental vehicle. She began to studder as she glanced down at her list of scratched off names. She then looks up and says, "it's 4:00pm". Roger Ma'am I can tell time and I put my flight information in the request. Yes I requested it a little earlier than my flight landed to ensure it was ready by time I got there. I could then pick it up and move on about my business. She says she has to call the branch manager for guidance. She then picked up her phone and walked into another room to place the call. She returns in 2 mins stating that it's 4pm and we gave your vehicle away. I said this is unacceptable since I clearly put my information in there so you knew I would be a little late. Now I didn't know 465 was going to come to a complete stand still and lock us in traffic. Then I said why didn't someone at least call me? To which her reply was well you should of called us. What a joke? You live in the city and know how backup things were. So I asked for the branch managers information and she gave me a card with his name and number. That was pointless as he didn't answer the call nor did he have a voicemail set up. Long story short I will never try to rent from this location again. Professionalism is not a great thing here. Nor is customer service. To my fellow Vets I'd advise you do the same.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! First and foremost, Crystal should not be the manager there or anywhere else for that matter. She appears to be unhappy with her job, she does not smile and overall her demeanor is very "I don't care" like. I have contacted my law firm regarding this matter to find out my rights and hopefully to get them involved. I've rent cars several times a year and have NEVER had this issue. Like so many other people I had a horrible experience with this company. My entire background is in customer service so not only do I take it seriously, I understand how it is to work in that environment so I know it can be challenging. I ALWAYS keep that in mind as a consumer. I booked this rental and paid in FULL $511 to be exact so definitely thought I was good to go and this would be a pretty seamless process. When I got there I handed my drivers license and credit card over (same card they took the money from) and was told they only take a major credit card. I explained that I was paid in full and that there was at least $4,000 in my account. She said they can't take it and it has to be a major credit card. She told me I would have to get with customer service to get a refund and handed me a pamphlet with a phone number to call. She said she could not cancel the reservation. No apology, no empathy, and just overall a very bad attitude. I called the number and was told that they could not refund my money until the LOCATION released or canceled the reservation. I explained that I now needed my money to rent another car and could not wait days for this to happen. I was told unfortunately that if the location did not cancel it I would have to wait at least 48 hours. I told them this was unacceptable and requested a supervisor to which I was told a supervisor would call back in a couple of hours. I never heard back from anyone. This totally ruined our trip.

I will never use Hertz again. I rented a car from them when I was in an accident. I returned the car to the auto body shop when I picked up my vehicle, per their instruction. They did not close out my reservation until 11 days later. My insurance company only covered the cost till the day I picked up my vehicle, so without notice, Hertz charged my card $309.14 for the 11-day difference. My insurance company called the branch to find out what happened, and they advised that it was an error and that it would be refunded. 1 week later, I did not have the refund and called back. The branch manager advised that she would submit the request since it was not completed the week prior and that I would have the refund in 7 to 10 business days. When I still didn’t have the refund 2 weeks later, I called again. The manager stated that the request had not yet been approved and she had to respond to an email that was sent a “couple of days ago” with additional notes. She claimed that she had been “in and out of the office” which I assume is her reason for not responding to her email. Two days later when I still had not heard anything, I called again. She advised that she had still not heard if it had been submitted. I then spoke with Hertz customer service to see if they could speed the process along and they advised that they must submit a form which could take another 2-3 business days plus 7-10 more business days to actually receive the refund. It has now been 28 days since my card has been charged incorrectly. I have made a total of 8 calls to try to get it fixed. At no point has anyone at Hertz shown any type of urgency to fix their error. If anything, they have been passive aggressive stating they “wish they could press a magic button” to get my money back. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. Do not use Hertz for your car rental needs!

I use Hertz in Indianapolis normally without incident. Fast, friendly and the most affordable. My last visit was not that. We had problems with the same employee on drop off and pick up. He wouldn't give me his name but called himself Mr. Lee. When we picked up the vehicle, he informed us the car we rented didn't have cruise control but we could upgrade to a car that did for twice the cost. Turns out our car did have it glad I didn't fall for that. When pressed about insurance he told my wife the insurance agent she didn't know her own policy. And then tried to upsell insurance we assured him we didn't need. As we were standing there another couple came in for their reservation and were told there were no more cars for them even though we were just offered another car. So we left and returned the car later. No issue. Fantastic. While waiting for our Uber we heard another couple told there weren't cars even though there were. We had just returned one. They had a reservation but he insisted they didn't have a reservation unless he said so. When my wife said this was the second time we'd witnessed this and it seemed their system was at fault, the gentleman told he to be quite and mind her business. I told him he can't speak that way to a customer, he insisted I leave the store. That is when I asked his name and he wouldn't say except Mr Lee. I've been in customer service over 10 years and that is an abysmal way to handle the situation. I don't plan on not doing business with Hertz but I will not be dealing with "Mr Lee" again.

My experience was like that of many others writing reviews. Reserved a car. And they didn't have one. So they unilaterally cancelled my reservation. Hertz customer service was able to re-book me a car at the airport instead. And it only cost me twice as much as my original reservation! I elected to cancel my trip instead. The only plus is that the Shadeland staff did call me a couple hours before pickup to let me know. Considering how many people this happens to, the staff must get tired of calling people and letting them know that they can't honor their reservations. In general, I've been happy when renting from Hertz, so it's clearly just this location that is poorly run. So if you work here, go to work for another rental company that doesn't force you to make those kinds of calls. I see the owner is reading and responding to these reviews. This is for him/her - just so you know, I sent feedback to Hertz requesting that they kick you out as a franchisee since you are unwilling to update your inventory as you sell out, and are thus causing damage to the Hertz brand. A one-time occurence is understandable. Mistakes happen. I get it. But what is happening here is a consistent pattern of either neglect, or a willingness to sacrifice the Hertz brand in order to ensure that your inventory is 100% utilized. That is short term thinking, and should be unacceptable to corporate.

This is the worst rental car place ever I rented a car and was charged a 484 dollar fee for gas and supposedly a towing free when the car was never towed then they refused to removed it saying that I didn’t renew my contract they never warned me my contract was ending and tried to charge me a 110 dollar fee I’m gonna tell everyone this stay with enterprise I should’ve known when they still had cars available and everyone was sold out this company is a rip off they are all about money then tried to say that they were gonna repo I took the car back due to the situation that they were trying to tow the car when I never disputed not giving the car back one of their reps told me I didn’t have to follow up just pay as I go DONT EVER RENT from HERTZ they are the worst and will rip you off they are a terrible rental company I will never rent from them again NEVER I’m not removing this post until I get that dam fee off my receipt I’m taking it to small claim and going tomorrow to file everybody run don’t come here at all they are the worst most unprofessional and most disgusting place ever don’t ever rent here ever go to enterprise you’ll never have one issue that’s why they number one now HERTZ is the worst dam ripoff company

I was there in August to get a rental. My car was in the shop. I called 7 days prior to getting to reserve my vehicle. I also scheduled for them to pick me up at the auto body shop. After waiting 45 min past pick up time. I called and all they could say was they forgot to put the time in the computer so I ended up being a hour late to work. Once I get there. I told them I don't want any charges to me cause this was being billed to another insurance company. The type of insurance required a 50.00 hold. No big deal. They don't get me any information. Gave me a paper and sent me on my way. Prior to returning the vehicle I filled the gas up. As I'm pulling in the guy standing outside stopped me and told me where to park. And asked me to check my milage. We went inside, he told them everyrhing looked good and the gas was full. Needless to say a month and a half later I am still fighting to get my 33.00 in charges they charged for full. Even tho I fill up the tank. Everything I called them about my charge they give me a run around. Then tell me the manager is on vacation for two weeks. So I called corporate. And there not any better. Next time I need a rental it will not be from here.

So I had a small fender bender with a Hertz car rentel. When I returned it I was told who knows how long it's going to take to fix it and that it could be thousands of thousands of dollars out of my pocket because they can't fix a scratch in 2 weeks. So all the downtime apparently will be coming out of my pocket. So i just found out that my Capital One MasterCard covers this. And so I called Hertz to find out how to give them that information and Lee was very rude to me and when I told him that I had coverage he said "No you don't" and when I told him I confirmed with Capital One that I'm covered he stated, "I'm not going to argue with you since you know it all". And then of course he said a bunch of other stuff that I thought was rude. I have rented several cars this year from that location. I will never rent at Hertz again or I'll never rent in a place where that Lee guy is working. He's a loudmouth know-it-all. He tries to act like he's all doing you favors in front of your face. But when you call on the phone he doesn't even give you a chance to explain anything before cutting you off. Everybody do yourself a favor and rent at a different location, not at Shadeland

I rented from this location on Wednesday 6/20 and I was so hesitant considering I had made my reservation through Priceline and didn’t read reviews until after I booked and payment was already in process of being taken, with that being said I am very pleased about the overall service! I apologize for forgetting the name of the young man who assisted me but his attitude was great actually kinda funny so much appreciated! My main concern was the reviews I had read stating of being over charged and I expressed my concerns at the time of picking up rental he assured me many times as I had ask many times that as long as I returned on time, gas was where it was upon renting so on and so on that there would be no additional fees! And I returned actually before they opened the next business day everything same as when I initially received and when I checked my credit card the only charge was exactly what was to be taken even my deposit was already back on my card!!! So I will definitely recommend Hertz well the location especially I am very pleased with the service I received! Thank you

I used this location to rent a replacement while my car was in the shop. Today I called them and no one picked up. I later received a call from their Bethany, OK location. The woman asked me to return the rental because the repair was done. I explained to her that the repair is not completed and I spoke with the repair shop today and on regular basis. I called their local office and nobody picked up. A person identified himself as a local Hertz rep called me and accused me of keeping their rental. I explained to him that my car is still in the shop and he should check with them and the insurance company. He said they don't do that tand it's my claim and I have to do that. I was able to call the insurance company who resolved the issue. And, I was told to find a way myself to drop off the rental bc they won't be able to pick it up from the repair shop in Anderson, IN! I am NOT NOT NOT going to be Hertz customer anytime soon. Nor would my friends and family!!

If you are looking for a place to dump money and get zero customer service look no further! This place will lie about picking you up, trick you into additional charges, and charge your card for things you never authorized. Going through an insurance company? Even better! Hertz will claim your insurance company never agreed to pay for your car even though insurance set up the rental and has all the coverage documented in their system. Hertz will happily charge you the full normal rate and hope you just don't notice. To get it fixed Hertz will have to answer their phone and at this location, that never happens. Leave a message so they can delete it and never call you back. After a week of driving a vehicle that is nothing like you wanted due to their lack of selection you will be left with new gray hairs, a migraine, and paperwork for unauthorized charges from your credit card company.

1 star because that is the minimum you can give otherwise I would post 0 stars. I originally thought I was receiving a good deal until later when I received my credit card statement and realized I had been lied to. They will tell you what they think you want to hear in order to close the deal on your rental but BEWARE. If you do any verbal dealings with ANY of the agents at the desk be sure to either record the conversation OR put it in writing and get the agent to sign it. Get names of EVERYONE you speak with along with day and time of the conversation. I had to close out my credit card and have another new one issued due to the fact that Hertz kept charging my card for non sense charges MONTHS after my rental was complete. A total sham of a company and I will go back with Enterprise or Budget. Sometimes a good deal is just too good to be true. STAY AWAY FROM HERTZ AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I had a noon reservation, arrived at 11:58 and they were closed! I had started calling them at 11:50 to let them know I was on my way and they never answered! I was given the phone number to a branch manager and he said he was going to try to get someone there to get me the minivan, let's see if I get a call back... Mr. Lee returned my call and Even though the location was closed, he waited for me to arrive and took good care of me. He was there the first time I arrived but was in the back cleaning out a truck.Helping me caused him to be late to his sons event. Even though I had a rough start, (which was just a misunderstanding ) I experienced great customer service from Mr. Lee! Thanks to the manager out in Louisville Kentucky who helped me by contacting Mr Lee! He even called as a follow up to ensure I was taken care of!

Paid weeks I'm advance, no car available when I arrived. No notification. They sent multiple confirmation e-mails. They can't authorize a refund. This place is the worst. Do not deal with these people. Another couple was in the lobby with exactly the same situation. I can't heap enough scorn on this place. Utterly horrible. An hour on the phone to get the promise that my money should be refunded in 12-24 hours. They have still yet to provide a reason why they did not move a vehicle from another location, if they knew a day in advance as they stated. They sold a service and took no action to ensure they could provide that service. They had poor customer service across the board. Again, do no business with these people, they don't deserve it.

Booked a car 3 weeks in advance. They called to confirm our pickup time the day prior and we confirmed the pickup time. They said ok. Showed up at the pickup time only to have them say they don’t have our car available - only a tiny electric car, which would not fit our family or luggage. No call to let us know of this ahead of time. They said they had no larger vehicles and just said we could wait to MAYBE have a car transferred to them later that day. Employees gave a lazy “sorry”, but didnt offer any way to make it right. Now I’m going to have to call their generic customer service - because you cant call the branch directly, just to wait for 2+ weeks for a refund. Hertz has lost me as a customer for a lifetime.

I had to get a rental set up by the insurance company from Hertz and this location was the closest to me but instead I had to go out of my way and go to the one in Castleton on 82nd street! All because of their employee (CRYSTAL) was so rude and non-helpful. I actually couldn’t believe she worked there with such terrible customer service skills. Please work on how to deal with people in certain situations. And if you’re so tired and fed up with your job - QUIT! You’re not being forced thankfully Shanika at the one in Castleton was great working with - no run around, or awkwardness just efficient! Simple- in and out and on my way! How it should be FYI.

Went through AARP. And thought I had a good deal at 215.88 for an eight day rental. Looks like when I asked to pick the car up early, I was charged 20.00 extra for the 2 hours even though I came back with it 2 hours early. Mr. Lee seems nice, talks fast and next thing I know we are paying 366.00. I added the 90.00 extra insurance, since he seemed to threaten extreme charges (1200 .00 for a cracked windshield) if we had issues. Anyway got charged 32.19 for fuel purchase option....and didn't even know we got that? And when I brought it back he still had me add the fuel to the half way mark that it was at to start. I mean AVOID THIS HERTZ!!!!!!!

This place is horrible, when I tried to call to set up reservation for vehicle no one even answered the phone, so I show up next day and they tell me I needed to call ahead. Um yeah tried to do that but no answer, tried to say they were closed was why, it was 4:30 pm. Charged me for something I didn't ask for, and then told me they couldn't take charge off until I returned vehicle. I didn't even want to rent here, but my insurance company(State Farm) has a contract through them. Don't EVER EVER EVER RENT FROM HERTZ OR THIS LOCATION. I wouldn't even have gave them 1 star, but it wouldn't let me comment unless I did. Total BS experience!

I have read some of the other reviews and they are spot on with my own experience with Hertz. This is ridiculous that a company can be run like this! First off, they put me in a car that was half the size of my personal vehicle and said they had no other vehicle for me. Then, the man at the desk on Shadeland Ave did to me what it looks like they have done to a lot of people. After I made it clear that I did not want extra insurance through Hertz, he still somehow put a $14.99/day (x 2 weeks) charge on my credit card. DO NOT rent through this place unless you would like them to manipulate you into paying more than you agree to!!!!!

Returned vehicle on a FULL gas tank. I get charged days later for $82 for a gas charge. I went into hertz and asked what the problem was. They commented that it was returned on a half tank and I might only get my money back IF it gets accepted in the system in 2-4 WEEKS!!! This place is complete and utter garbage. The staff is lazy, uninviting, and clearly all over the place. They clearly are trying to scam people on the gas charge. They didn’t seem to give any care in the world about seeing the receipts of proof that I had filled the gas tank prior to returning the vehicle. They. Are. Scammers. A 1 Star review is generous

Worst experience ever! I booked a rental from this location and upon arrival I noticed the Manager seemed very rude - without even trying to be supportive he told me that the only vehicle left is a Tesla but if I take it I will have to figure out where and how to charge it (since its not gas operated). I told him I have no experience and would appreciate help but he was so rude and unsupportive he really needs to find another job. I am a Hertz preferred customer and have never experienced a location with a rude Manager like that! Hope Hertz send him back to customer training and reassigns him from a managing position!

(Update: I think this location has new personnel and it is much better than when I wrote this original review. I came back to try again after manager called and asked me to give them another chance. In the last year it seems all good. Moving my review from 1 to 4 stars now.) I returned my vehicle full, yet they charged me over $200 fuel charge. I spent two days getting things fixed. Horrible customer service at both the Shadeland Av, location and by Hertz's national customer service line. Avoid this location at all costs. Just check out all the bad reviews here. Hertz needs to fix this location or shut it down.

I booked a car online through a managers special. Arrived to find out that only electric cars were available. I needed to get to a funeral so I took the electric car. Big mistake. It had all types of issues the biggest being not staying charged. I missed my grandmother’s funeral and experienced the drive from hell in this electric car. The staff did not care or was even there when I returned a switched replacement car. Never will I book with Hertz or this location specifically again. As a disabled Vet this has definitely been the worse rental car experience I’ve ever had in my life. Do better Hertz!

This location really needs to be closed. The manager Brian is incompetent. My insurance company reserved me a vechile and Brian not knowing how to properly do his job charged me for the rental instead of the insurance company. Went into the location on 6 different occasions as no one ever answers the phone, and still couldn't have the issues resolved. Sent in a corporate escalation and have yet to hear back. Please do not use this location, manager and staff needs more training. Wait times are ridicoulous as the staff has to clean the cars while trying to take care of customers. Really poorly run.

The staff was very friendly to explain all problems I faced, but I will not rent a car in Hertz from the third-party website. The third-party website did not tell me the fact that Hertz does not accept Debit card for car rental. Moreover, I had bought the insurance on the website (Allianz Global Assistance), but the staff in Hertz told me that they do not accept other insurances except their own insurance program. Therefore, I had to use my credit card to buy a new insurance and then canceled my the insurances I had bought on the website by phone. The whole process was very annoying.

This place should be closed down. Not only did I make a reservation, take an Uber 30 mins to get there and they didn’t have a car available, but then when I asked for a charger to charge my phone they offered no help, swear they didn’t even have a port on the computer, I had the cord, the guy was rude and so unprofessional. I had to walk to the steakhouse to use there usb port, called Enterprise who did have a rental. I will never ever ever rent with Hetz again and no one should rent at this location. I travel on business a lot please take my word…go to ENTERPRISE!!!!!

Just left this place and shame on them!!! First off no one at the desk for ten minutes! Walked in and out wondering if anyone was working. Finally a rude older woman comes out and gives us the worst Customer service! Full of attitude and disdain she says the car we reserved was not there and she said it wasn't her fault the system didn't update. Then tried to give us a cheaper car at the same price as standard! We said no then asked to use restroom before leaving. She said its not for the public!!! Should be shut down! Super poor service!!! SHAMEFUL

I originally had a good experience BUT it was late at night( the only time I had ) to pick up my car that I owned, so we left the rental car at the Hertz lot and put the rental keys in the lock box. So with it being almost 11 at night, in a hurry to get home, I forgot to get my Big Brother's Funeral Program out of the car because of the rush. I called to see if I could it back. THE MAN SO CALLOUSLY TOLD ME THAT THEY PROBABLY SHREDDED IT AND DIDN'T GIVE IT A SECOND THOUGHT! IT HAD HIS PICTURE ON IT ! I WAS REALLY TAKEN BACK AND HURT

Very small place, if you sneeze you would miss it. Check in was fast, absolutely no line. Got Managers Choice vehicle. Of course it was the smallest vehicle, and the vehicle had absolutely no features at all. Had to wash and clean the car soon as I got it, wasn't done really in the car and these days can't take chances. First time I rented a car and missed mines right away. Guy claimed there was not a better car to provide, however they didn't appear busy to me lol. Check out process with dropping the key off was great, and easy.

They were incredibly helpful and saved me from a botched reservation with Enterprise when Enterprise called me two hours before my pickup and 2.5 hours before they closed that they didn't have a car for me and didn't help to find another car on the local level. The national level failed to do anything in time. Thank you HERTZ for saving me! Also, I have been trying to call your local branch about an upcoming rental, but the phone never answers. How do I call you directly and not get routed through the national system?

We reserved a SUV on line. We visited the location a month ago and expressed the importance for a large vehicle, and we were assured it wouldn't be an issue. We even offered to pay then to make sure it was held for us. We called 2 days before we were to pick it up and once again assured it was not a problem, everything was fine. 24 hours before our trip we were called and told we had no vehicle. We could have a mini van, which we already own... So we are going with another company. This one is worthless.

My insurance adjuster set up a rental car for me while my car is waiting for repairs. I had the registration/confirmation number. I was told it would be available for pick up yesterday Oct 19 and or after the 19th. I called yesterday to confirm everything myself and found someone to take me as I have no car at the moment. We drove there and I was told they didn't t have a car for me. And I would have to wait until Monday. I've tried calling 4 times this morning. No one answers. No voicemail picks up.

It has been 10 years since last renting a car from this company and the experience was EXCELLENT!!! Also, please take Hertz's gas saver offer because it will save you money as having to find out on my own. YES, I highly recommend using this location services as well as assistance when renting a vehicle. Thank you so much, Hertz Staff, in assisting with an immaculate vehicle; Nissan Altima. I hate leaving “bad reviews” but we booked our car here because it was the best price. When we arrived (and dropped off) there was only one person working and the lobby is tiny. There were 2 people in front of us and a person behind us in line and a customer trying to return keys. Ultimately it took so long to process one client, she just left the keys on the counter and walked out. Maybe they just need some more people behind the desk to answer the calls and process reservations.

I booked a rental online via Priceline before I looked at reviews so I was a bit nervous but my experience was great. The associate, who I believe was the manager, was friendly and helpful. My rental was available on time and pick up was quick. The car was nice and clean and beyond my expectation for a midsize rental car (2023 Kia K5). I had no issues after the rental was returned and didn't have any odd charges on my card. Everything went well and I would use the location again.

This is the most unprofessional ghetto location I’ve ever dealt with. A bunch of angry unprofessional incompetent employees that act like they’re mad at you for spending your money with them! Barbara specifically needs some training she has a bad attitude and needs to learn how to talk to people and if you’re unhappy get some therapy instead of bringing that mess to work everyday! This location needs a corporate takeover or a permanent SHUTDOWN!

Hard to believe some of the reviews. I had a great experience with them. I want to give a shout out to one of their employees. Crystal is very professional, customer oriented and friendly. She was very patient with each customer she served on this busy Monday morning. She remembered me from the last visit and made sure she had a vehicle to my liking when I arrived this morning. I was happy with the service and will use them again in the future.

It's literally the worst Hertz have ever encountered. The manager was rude he lied to me multiple times, he told me had that I had to buy $400 extra insurance and he told me that I had to pay this fee and that fee and he was just completely rude. My rental total was $600 more than when I originally reserved. He also lied to me and told me only certain cars are available, when there were better cars that I could have taken.

Returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas, spent $40 filling it across the street, to get charged $82 on my account. When I asked what the charge was for they said low fuel, I had a receipt for my gas and they said all they can do is submit a request for a refund that will take 2-4 weeks. Completely a rip off, lying, and charging people extra. The car was also dirty with food in the floorboards when I picked it up.

Hello, my husband and I just dropped off our red Kia Soul rental. I’m rating this experience a 2 out of the kindness of my heart. The car was an inconvenience, the tire pressure in the front passenger side tire kept dropping which caused us to have to stop numerous times on our journey. Receiving some sort of credit would be nice considering we had to stop numerous times. If you rent from here proceed with caution!

Shady people who work there! Signed a paper stating $205 to be charged to my card and I looked at the bank $405 came out. Was never told ANYTHING ABOUT a deposit fee being taken at the same time as the rental fee. Not only that I called to get clarification and he told me you  don't get your money back for 3 to 4 busy days!!!!! Never going back to them and will be telling everyone to never go there!!

I rented a car through Travelocity. I rented the Managers special. Once there only an electric car was available. This doesn't work for me due to my house. Had to upgrade due to the car being a must. Ordered through Travelocity a second time and the same thing occurred. Electric cars are never mentioned in the options. This may be a Travelocity issue, but does appear to be a "bait and switch" issue.

It is 38 F outside and I am with my 7 year old daughter. I dropped the car and was waiting for Uber which was 10 mins away. I ask them if we can wait inside since it’s very cold outside but no they said we r sorry we close at 5:00. Although they were still working inside doing their paperwork but they left us outside in cold weather. They could use some kindness. Not nice people were here .

Wow, this location is a joke. I requested a 9am pick up and they just NEVER showed! I called 6 times with no answer until 10:25. Used the excuse that they didn't know a time and that my phone number didn't work. Blatantly lied, no respect for customers or care for the business. Shut this branch down. Luckily Enterprise was able to pick me up at 9:45 when I had class at 10:30!

Mr. Lee's customer service needs improvement. When a customer gives you the same answer to the same question 4 times something isn't right. Mr Lee was also very rude to a secretary that was simply trying to assist me at a collision center. One thing to be rude to me, but rude to someone who is trying to help you out and expedite the situation? Unacceptable, Unprofessional.

Shady business. One of their drivers hit and run my personal vehicle parked in their lot and they wouldn't do anything about it. They have evidence showing it was their own vehicle, a manager showed it to me, and then a week later, he suddenly no longer works there. Will never rent from Hertz again, or buy ANYTHING from Penske (all Hertz in Indiana are owned by Penske)

I had a very bad experience with hertz at 1321 n Shadeland ave with manager Avery Paris. I asked to speak with a district manager and he said there was not one available. I used to use Hertz every where I traveled but will NEVER use Hertz again. This location has poor ratings on this site and I now understand why. I recommend going some where else for better service.

Reserved a car online, got confirmation, called and spoke to the rudest piece of trash on the planet, who informed me they didn't have any cars available, despite the fact I had a rental confirmation, Go to Enterprise across the street if you need a car, and have a choice. Brother went to pick up a car. Car was not filled up with gas, and he was pressured for 10 minutes to purchase Hertz insurance despite my bro already being covered with Safeco. The employee essentially lied and said the car was not covered by his personal insurance. I am guessing he makes commission if he sells Hertz insurance. Would not recommend to anyone.

Reserved a cargo van to help my fiancé move in. The first location where it was supposed to be had someone extend their lease, so I had to drive 10ish miles to get a different one.
