I am writing in regards to me having to call your organization (Sixt) about the cleanliness of the vehicle I picked up last night a little past 9:30pm on 06/01/2021. I was headed out of work and I noticed that the car wasn’t cleaned. I was going to ignore it but I couldn't. I have only been in the car twice and now that I have full light of the vehicle I can see just that. And you’ll see photo attachments in the email with the pictures I have taken. I understand cities are lifting Covid restrictions but aside from Covid restrictions; I still expect or would hope your organization would clean their cars per each driver that gets in it. And because Covid19 is still active in our society and someone, like myself, has a weakened immune system, my health is literally in your hands - when you tell customers (me) your cars have been cleaned and or sanitized. That wasn’t the case here. And yes I spoke with a colleague that said she would take 10% off which I kinda think is low and dismissive of my health concerns. What is 10% compared to me driving around in an unsanitized dirty car that I am paying a nice penny for 4 days . This should not happen to other customers. I have decided to go out and get my own sanitizer and wipe down everything. But yet, I am paying you guys nearly $500 to do that, and it didn’t happen. This is unacceptable.

Super disappointed with this company. As a former born and bred Hoosier, returning to Indiana for a visit, I expect Hoosier hospitality. This company is anything but that. I was unable to change my pick up time as the airline changed my flight pattern. After repeatedly trying to modify my reservation online for weeks, I finally found a number to call the desk in Indianapolis. The lady on the phone said it shouldn't be a problem, but she couldn't change the pick up time in the system. Next, I selected a Toyota Camry from the app; however, I was given a Nissan. Also, we were given a car with less than 1/4 tank of gas. Also, I was charged $200 deposit for which the lady at the counter never mentioned when she was going through the rental agreement. I called the local branch. She apologized, but made not attempt to correct any of the problems except she did say that we could bring the car back with that amount of gas at no charge. When we returned the car, the young man working return was less than helpful and didn't want to go back over the car to make sure that we would receive our deposit back. I have rented cars for over 20 years and I have never had this happen. Finally, we are now several days back from our trip and I have yet to receive my deposit back. Very disappointing to say the least!

I reserved the car for my husband and clearly stated on the rental that he would be the driver. I paid for the rental. It wasn't until AFTER I paid that I found out that you didn't have to identify the driver, you had to use the Credit Card of the driver for payment. I called SIXT corporate and they told me they could do nothing until the rental was completed. My husband went to pick up his car, and was told he did not have a reservation and to start over. It cost an extra $250 to rent the car in addition to the $350 I had already paid. During another corporate call, I was told to "talk to the branch manager" after the rental was complete. After the rental was complete, I called the Branch Manager and he said, that only corporate can make this kind of change. It is not clear during the rental that not only must the driver be identified on the rental, but the driver must also PAY for the rental. This information is not available until AFTER the payment is completed. I can't believe this policy - I will never rent with Sixt again - and will tell all my friends and colleagues the same thing.

Worst experience I've ever had! So I rented the car for a camping trip. I get told we will receive a 4 door full cab truck. I get to the lot and instead they give me a 2 door, half cab truck. I was like whatever and took it. They charged me $740 just to walk out the door with the truck. Then I decided to extend my rental twice, both times the money was immediately withdrawn from my account. I returned the truck this week only to be charged an additional $957! I called them to dispute and they acted like they could care less that I was double charged. They stated they never charged me to begin with when I clearly was! I have bank statements showing the charges! Said to send them the transactions and they will get back with me in a couple days. They also charged me an additional $99 for damage fees but there was absolutely NO damage what so ever done to the vehicle. I even took it to a car wash and vacuumed it upon return. This place is a complete scam! It doesn't make any sense that they can double charge me and get away with it! Will not EVER use this place again.

I had a fantastic experience renting a car from Sixt at the Indianapolis Airport. The moment I walked up to the counter, I was greeted by friendly and helpful attendants who were eager to assist me. What truly set this rental car experience apart was the exceptional service provided by Simu, the manager. Simu went above and beyond to ensure that I had a smooth and pleasant rental experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and even provided me with some great local recommendations. His attention to detail and dedication to customer service made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. Compared to other rental car companies, Sixt, and especially Simu, truly stand out in terms of customer service. I would highly recommend anyone traveling to the Indianapolis area to consider renting from Sixt. The combination of friendly counter attendants and Simu's exceptional service creates a winning formula for a hassle-free and enjoyable rental car experience. Kudos to Sixt for setting the bar high in the industry!

The first car I was put in smelled of cigarette smoke. It took me two trips back to the reservation counter to get a different car and then another 15 minutes for the person I the garage to find the keys to a different car. At the time of the rental I was told that I would have to have the car back within 30 minutes of the time that I rented it to not be charged for another day. I had the car back within 15 minutes of the time I rented it. I found out the next day that I got an additional charge for returning the vehicle early! Yes, when I made the reservation online I didn't know what my definite schedule would be so I planned for more time. I had planned on returning the car an hour later than what I actually did. When my payment method had to be changed at the counter when I first got the car I was led to believe that the return time had also changed. I will not be renting from you ever again because there are so many hidden fees and charges that were added on. I have rented many times and have not had the problems that I had with your company.

I gave a review a year ago and thought maybe enough customers had complained and they had improved on their customer service. That's a joke! Same terrible service just a different day. Received a car, gas was not on full. I took a picture of the gas hand before I left (just to cover my base). Sure enough, they charged me for fuel stating I didn't return it on the same hand as when I left. Since I only took a picture of when I left and not when I returned it, they weren't willing to refund me. They over charged my rental and would not send me an itemized bill. I asked to speak to the general manager and she refused to talk. She claimed to support her office manager. They have terrible customer service and make no attempts to rectify any misunderstandings. They do a poor job of retaining any customers which is why they have such a low rating. When I brought this to their awareness, the manager said I have a choice and could go else where. I would be willing to pay a higher deposit to receive better service. Never again, Sixt!

The only good thing about our rental was the price! First, we couldn't find the location in the Indianapolis Airport, there aren't many signs and when I tried calling the company it was a robot that told me I could find all information on the website, which is not true. We finally found it and one of the employees yelled at us because we couldn't bring our personal car in the garage, I explained our issues and lack of information and that I couldn't get anyone on the phone and she continued to yell at me about not being able to park the car in the garage. We will not rent from sixt ever again! Another thing, we got the vehicle at 29% oil life left. I let the guy know upon return and he said they let it get to 5% left and then chage it. It sounds as though they do not take good care of their cars. Another small thing, there was trash left from the previous renters. It would have been worth it to pay the extra $100 and not rent from Sixt or pick up at the airport!

I want to give a huge, very special shout out to Victor, working at the Indianapolis Airport location! I came to town for my graduation with my family which included two children, my husband, and mom. We all packed pretty light for the weekend but with strollers, car seats, and backpacks, the original car they gave me was way too small. I was so upset that all of our luggage wouldn’t fit, and when I called the customer service number they said all they could do was “send an email” to the local branch. Victor, working in the car return area, and his calm demeanor came to the rescue! He not only upgraded me to a larger vehicle, he also helped me by letting me park in a convenient space so we could easily transfer the bags from the old car to the new car. I was almost in tears by his generosity, especially after traveling all day and just wanting to get to the graduation. Thank you Victor at Sixt, you’re amazing!!

Our tire had a bubble on the sidewall. I called customer service to report the damage and request an exchange. I never received a call back about the exchange. We called the emergency after hours number and kept getting transferred and hung up on. Had to drive back to the airport the next day for the exchange. The staff at the Portland airport were amazing! Bummed we couldn't get a call back about our concerns and glad we didn't drive too far on the first night as exchanging it would have been a nightmare otherwise. Changing the dropoff location was a breeze. 3 stars for lack of response and support in an emergency situation. If we weren't able to resolve the issues in person it would have been very stressful and potentially ruined our trip waiting on a response from the call center support.

I paid the extra $10 in case I needed to change my reservation. I was unable to make a change in the app, so I had to call customer service. It took 15 minutes of me repeating myself and asking for a manager for the rep to even pull up my reservation. Then, she tells me there is no guarantee I'll get my money back for the unused days and it's up to the rental place - but she couldn't put me in touch with the rental center. When I returned the car, they told me they couldn't help me review my reservation - that I had to wait for an email. I have never had a worse car rental experience in my life. I highly recommend paying a few bucks extra for a better rental company.

Had been working and living in Europe long time ago. Back then, I always rent a car from Sixt for business trips if not driving my own car. No matter where their location is, their fleet is always kept in excellent condition, has a lot of brands/models to choose from and is also newer than other rental car companies. Not to mention their service quality is always very consistent. Now Sixt has finally entered the USA market. Glad they have an office opened in Indianapolis airport area. So far I've tried them twice already. The same service quality I've enjoyed so much for many years in Europe. Never have any issue or any sort of disappointment from them.

SIXT cancelled my reservation because my flight was delayed. I was not able to call SIXT because I was stuck on tarmac. They refused with a very negative and dismissive tone to honor my reservation. They said, “it’s Indy weekend, you should know that and know better.” Be on time next time.” They also dared me to complain! I don’t appreciate being chastised by a rental car company who I’ve used for many years. This is inexcusable behavior! I will take this to corporate; there should be some way to compensate me for being stranded by SIXT. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY! They are thoughtless and rude to customers!!

Never again. Shady business practices. Watch for unwashed x’s on the tires. I had to air up a tire several times a day because the insurance plan I bought didn’t cover the tires. I would have to pay all expenses concerning the tire is what I was told when I called in about it leaking. Nothing was in the tire but you could hear air leaking. Every morning I had to swing through a station to air up the tire. They want YOU to buy them a new tire for their vehicle with your insurance plan. Never mind SAFETY of their customer who rents the vehicle. A flat steer tire is bad business, but they don’t care, it’s just business.

I rented a car through Sixt after planning a last-minute trip to Indianapolis. I have rented from Sixt multiple times because of their competitive pricing and vehicle selection. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Sixt now has a presence on site at the airport. That reduced my check-in/check-out time significantly because I did not need to be shuttled to the old lot. The employee who checked me in took the time to show me some unique features of the vehicle. This was very helpful. The staff at Sixt has always been great to work with, and this was another example of excellent customer service.

Very poorly run location. Their inspection of the car indicated no problems but I found a dent on the right passenger door and the wiper blade was torn. The car had 20K miles on it. Upon return there was no one at the counter and when the shuttle driver returned he was able to flush the guy out of his hidey hole. I nearly lost one of my bags on the shuttle since it was placed between the seats instead of the storage area. I asked the driver where my bag was and the curt response was "I don't know. I needed load the van." They also take a $200 damage deposit from your credit card.

In town on business and booked with this company for the first time as my usual company was full. I promise it will be my last! Upon checking in, I was informed of a free upgrade to a 7 passenger SUV. I declined, since I was traveling alone and would prefer my midsized sedan as booked. I was informed they had no other vehicles to offer me despite the reservation. I went to the vehicle and it was still dirty with trash, AND was missing 1/8 of a tank of gas! I, of course, didn't notice this until I exited the garage, so I'm sure I'm SOL. Definitely do NOT recommend this company.

I recently traveled to Indiana for the weekend. I had never heard of SIXT when I made my car reservation but it was less expensive so I decided to try them. My entire experience from the quick turn around time checking in and returning the car to the customer service from the moment I arrived at the counter through my entire rental experience was amazing! It was very easy to reach someone when I called and they responded quickly with positive resolutions. I would highly recommend using SIXT for car rental! I know I will be using them in the future.

DO NOT rent a car from here!! They charged me almost $300 for cleaning because they claimed the car smelled like “smoke” after I dropped it off. Completely false, a scam and a lie because I’ve NEVER smoked a day in my life. I’ve tried endlessly to get help, dispute the charge and get an explanation but they have gone out of there way to lie about the smell, avoid responding to me for weeks, and there’s no proper customer support. I also paid for an SUV and got a much much smaller car. SO frustrated and NEVER renting from them again!

First off, Simo is absolutely fantastic and deserves more staffing support! My flight was changed on Friday, meaning I wouldn't arrive until after the counter closed. Simo offered to stay behind just for me and help me out. He gave me a free upgrade and when that car didn't turn out to be available, another one. Simo is a wonderful manager who doesn't make his employees stay late, and takes his job of making customers happy seriously. Could not have asked for a better solution to my situation. Went straight from the plane to get my car and nobody was there. Walked to the parking lot kiosk nobody was there. Couldn't get anyone on the phone. My rental was already paid for so I couldn't get my money back but still had to rent a car through another agency just so I was not stranded at the airport which cost me another 400 dollars after deposit. Completely ruined my vacation. Had to go back the next day to pick up my original car. Was told my card wouldn't be charged but it was another 200 dollars.

Be sure to check your rental care on the INSIDE and OUT, cleanliness, TANK IS FULL, AIR PRESSURE is to its normal condition. We experienced a low tire pressure gauge after being on the highway on our 2nd day of rental in Indiana and had to pull off the highway looking for a gas station that had an air pressure machine. SCARE THE S—T out of you, YES! It’s not only SIXT, it’s for ALL rental companies but it happened to us in Indiana with SIXT. Mahalo extended ohana; stay safe on your travels and drive.

You location gave away my rental because I was 4 hours late. I was not late. The default time on your website is 10:30 and I arrived on time at 2:30. You staff was cold and did not initially apologize. I never received a text or email saying I had to be there within 3 hours or that you were giving my rental to someone else. I have been in the auto business my entire life to include running my own rental car franchise. Your performance was very poor.

This is the worst place to rent a car. Unlike other rental companies, if you contact the rental car agency and return your car early, you will receive a credit for the early return. SIXT’s policy is that you have to notify them in advance if you’re going to return early, and if you don’t, they will charge you a fee for returning it early. However, if you do notify them, there is no refund, they still charge you the full amount.

Vehicle was clean, transaction was fast, staff was friendly, but the surprise hold of an additional $200 on my credit card for an almost $600 rental, including daily insurance, that had been prepaid, was quite the financial inconvenience on my last minute travel budget to attend a family funeral. I don't like surprises like that. I likely won't rent from them again and would not recommend them because of the surprise charge.

The price and location to retrieve the rental was very easy. When I returned the car, I interacted with a wonderful happy employee. In fact I realized I left my over coat in the car. He then offered to walk back to the car with me, retrieve the keys from the drop box, and I was able to get my coat. This gentleman loved his job and enjoys helping people. The car smelled like smoke and stunk up our clothes. We had to air it out that first evening and even then it still smelled a bit. The wipers didn’t work well either. It rained one afternoon and it was scary driving in traffic and not being able to see. Sixt was the cheapest option when I was searching for a car, but now I know why. I have rented with Sixt at multiple locations now, and their reps always go the extra mile to provide an excellent customer experience. Rented a car in Indianapolis Indiana. I was a little hesitant as a first time Sixt Customer, and I have to say I was pleased beyond my expectations. Service was amazing and the car was spotless. The return process was easy and fast with the after hours key drop was perfect. I would not only use them again and again but I will also recommend Sixt to family and friends.

The company, SIXT was fine except they advertised the rental at VW Jetta or similar, but was told when I got there that that location never gets VW’s. Toyota’s are good cars but the NAV system is worthless for rentals. You behave to have their App and the App must be registered to the VIN and it will not accept the VIN of a rental. Never again will I rent a Toyota.

Great rental. Cheaper than all the other car rental places. Nice car that was new. Booked it the morning of a last minute flight. Fast and easy at the rental counter and the car was extremely clean. No problems during the week. Dropping off the car was a breeze! No hidden fees or charges. I would def. Use them again in the future during my travel.

Sometimes horrible service. I thought they were great cause I had awesome experiences with them, but they are completely random in their decision which documents they need for a rental. So if you're unlucky you just won't get your car. I will definitely recommend my travel department not to do rent at this location again after the last experience.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Rented a car from here back in April and said I would get my deposit back once I returned the car. Well I returned the car in great condition and person told me I would get deposit back. Look on my card statement and they charged me $300 for it and aren’t refunding me for it. Recommend taking business elsewhere.

Excellent service at rental counter as we had turned our car in to competitor before we knew we would have to rent another car after changing flight due to hurricane Ian. SIXT came to the rescue after trying three other companies. Very cordial at Checkin and checkout. Will definitely rent again if available at airport. Very competitive pricing.

I highly recommend SIXT. This was my first experience with them. Each staff member was friendly and competent. The entire process was streamlined. No paper contract-yay, saving trees! The contract was sent to my email. I received the car I had selected to rent. It was very clean and odor free and drove very well. I plan to use SIXT again.

The Sixt location near the airport was a breeze. Airport shuttle was waiting at zone 3 as stated and was a 10 min ride at most. Very courteous driver. The office was staffed by very friendly associates. No high pressure up sales. Gave me my car and I was off on my way in no time. Returning the car was a breeze also. Will use them again!

Absolute disgrace. Made a reservation for work, the day before arriving they send an email that my reservation has been cancelled. Called them and they acknowledged that it happened to a number of people. Told me they can’t reinstate it and told to just book a new reservation. No cars left though. Complete joke of an operation.

Jerrod the manager here was awesome. He made sure all our needs were met for our rental. The car was clean and ready to go. We arrived after regular office hours, and having pre-registered on the website, he sent me an email as to the car's location, paperwork, and keys. Will definitely use them again when we're in the area.

We returned the car a day early and it was never closed out, they try to say someone was smoking in the car. I had to call customer service to get it closed out and they didn't adjust the day off my early return. Not a good 1st impression at all after this is sorted out we're sticking with Enterprise.

Our family has used multiple car rental companies over the years. The ONLY one that we have never had any problems with is Sixt. Pick up and drop off are a breeze and we always get the vehicle that we have reserved. I highly doubt that we will use any other car rental company if possible.

Wouldn't reccomend. Booked through Expedia. Got there to rent. Needed a credit card for their "hold" which was fine except their credit card machine wouldn't read my card. They couldn't enter manually. Zero help. I'll definitely stick to Enterprise next time.

The only thing it was lacking is a lighted pasrkng area. Really didn't want to take a black vehicle in a dark and look for previous damage. They are off site but it was just a short distance from the airportworth the money I saved to get a luxury car

Everyone I encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. The car was clean and smelled great. It was very easy to both pickup the car and drop it off. I will definitely be using this company again the next time I need a car.

Overall very good. The return center was closed as well as the inside counter on a Sunday night around 7:00 pm and there were no envelopes in the kiosk. Overall a nice car and I would recommend that you try them.

Pickup and drop off were seamless and easy. It's a little expensive but all the rental cars are. Car was clean but probably could've used an alignment as it was a little shaky. All-in-all a good experience.

Rental car was dirty, smelt bad, heavily stained upholstery-all around gross.. Smelt like cigarettes, cheap cologne, dirty pets and body odor inside. Never again with this company.
