I’ve had two recent experiences at Holmesglen, day surgery and the ED. Day surgery was easy, from check in to discharge all the staff were kind, helpful and responsive. The ED was a completely different story. I choose to go here after a fall as I didn’t want to wait at Moansh all day on a Sunday. I knew there was a few and was happy to pay this. While I was seen to quickly, and although it wasn’t busy I was really disappointed by the care. Very little interaction with any medical staff, and once I’d had X-rays and a CT and two breaks had been confirmed I was told, you need to see an orthopedic surgeon, and they would send the referral off. I was put in a CAM boot and sent on my way, no pain killers, no instructions if/when I could take it off (I would’ve normally asked but I was in pain and shock) etc were given. The only staff members who were nice were the admin staff and Tom (I think) the orderly. Thanks to Google I figured that all out. And to top it off, the surgeon I was referred to didn’t even do feet, didn’t even LOOK at my foot! Said I ‘probably’ wouldn’t need surgery but if I did, I would need to see someone else anyway. What a waste of another $250 and my time. I’d absolutely go here again to the main hospital but think I’d either try Monash /Sandringham next time, or if I went to a private ED, I’ll head to Cabrini.
I have had day surgery here four times since it opened. I have never had anything but great things to say about the DOS team. It's an easy booking-in procedure upon arrival. Coming out of anaesthesia there is someone sitting by me. In the recovery area, nurses are always close by. I am always confident when going there. HOWEVER, my wife recently went in for an overnight operation. We booked in at 7:30am and sat in the waiting room. I had to leave at 9:00 but my wife was still waiting and was not called in till 9:15. The admitting nurse told her that her paperwork had been misplaced and so they thought she had not turned up. Really? After being booked in? Really? Had the nurse not thought to call out her name in the waiting room or ask the admin staff if she was booked in? They had collected the next patient for the same surgeon ahead of her, so her op was delayed until after 11:45. Later, no one could find pressure stockings to put on her leg as required after an op of this type. Only after I arrived at 4pm and asked the head nurse on duty, did she easily find one. I admit, all this has not happened before, but it should not happen if the admin staff and admitting nurse were doing their jobs more carefully. Not good enough Holmesglen. You were letting the team down yesterday.
Arrived late at night at emergency dept, my 16 yrs old daughter was under extreme pain, on tears due to a disk hernia crisis. Receptionist was very quick to tell me there would be a > $300 non refundable fee and gave me a term to sign and asked us to wait at reception as the nurse was booking in another patient. Twenty minutes later I asked the nurse a place for my daughter to lie down as she couldn't support the pain any longer. Her answer was that we would have to wait as it was not "life threatening". I argued my daughter was under extreme pain and the nurse said she would have to book her in the system first. We finally had access to somewhere where my daughter could lie down and the doctor came to see her ten minutes later as apparently he was busy on his computer. There was only my daughter and another patient at emergency that night. Fifty five minutes after our arrival my daughter finally received a first pain killer. The disinterested doctor said we could wait all night and try to have an MRI in the morning, but he couldn't guarantee though. We've decided to go home and never come back to this place. Emergency dept lacks sense of urgency. The hospital is brand new state of the art facility, but good places are made of good and caring people.
I was here for a very private procedure, 3 night stay. The nurses who looked after me, Harleen, Genevieve, and the male nurse Vish were amazing, they went above and beyond to ensure I had a good stay….. I hope they get promoted. I am giving three stars as, not all the nurses were as accomodating. Also, the food was not the best. But, most importantly, when I was being discharged, the lady in charge of the ward, walked in on me naked (without announcing herself as a nurse so I had no idea who she was), and asked me to leave n get into the discharge lounge. She could clearly see I was naked, I just had a major procedure done to my private areas and had no idea who she was . She was very rude and just wanted me out of there as I struggled to get dressed . I told her my doctor said he was going to come down to advise me if something to which she replied “no he is not coming back down for you”. I found out later she had not even spoken to my doctor. Some privacy, consideration and patience would have been nice. If my surgeon was not at this a hospital I would never return here. I hope the three nurses i mentioned above who made my stay very welcoming and were very helpful, caring and considerate are promoted.
Arrived at hospital in so much pain. Ok need to answer questions etc., etc., show medical cover pay $300. Originally had X-rays of knee and elbow, inconclusive...depending on doctor. Sent home with a sling for elbow and brace for knee, pain medication (their records show that I discharged myself). meanwhile advised to have a CT on on elbow and MRI on knee. Returned next day approx 11am, Quoted costs again etc., etc., and escorted to a cubicle. Received pain killer......at approx. 4 hours later had CT and MRI an hour or so later begged for pain killer. Looking for room for me to stay overnight. Maybe a laparoscop next day. The doctor on duty after all revisions done suggested I see an orthopaedic surgeon, fractures in both, they have one on staff........ how stupid do they think the public is. Waited until 9pm, saw or heard from no one, this time I discharged myself. Some nurses good, one exceptional. In all that time saw a professional 3 times. Should have taken photo of the one and only meal, my dog’s food looks and probably tasted better. Beware. Cannot recommend or would ever go back.
I came into the ER on a Sunday evening in May23, I was seen promptly, straight away - seen to by nurses and doctors. Excellent service. Conveniently for me this ER/hospital is only a few minutes from home. I ended up being admitted for 8 nights. My thanks to the wonderful professional nurses and doctors who took care of me. It was my first time in a hospital and I was nervous. I am so grateful, for the wonderful care given. The ward/rooms I stayed in were clean and well maintained, food service was excellent such a wonderful hospital. I am so fortunate to have this hospital so close to home. Thank you once again for taking such good care of me and getting me better. Having in the past unfortunately experienced ER with unwell family members in public hospitals the many hours waiting, crowds of sick people in pain, people effected by substances etc, if you have the means do not hesitate in using the Holmesglen ER - it is well worth it (plus you will be taking a little pressure off the public hospital). Can’t say thank you and give enough praise to the team at Holmesglen Private.
I recently spent 24 days in Holmesglen Private hospital. The experience from start to finish was excellent. I arrived in emergency after breaking my ankle on Saturday 8th July and was discharged on Wednesday 2nd August. Having not been in hospital for over 60 years the thought of hospital was not good. However, from the emergencey area to the general ward and then rehabilitation it was first class. The staff at all levels were perfect, all very careful with medication, infection controls and cleanliness. They were all working to hospital protocols. The food was very good to excellent. Over 24 days I did not have one complaint, food always hot on time and very well done. The picture here is of some of the staff having fun and enjoying their work. There is no doubt in my mind that we do not pay the nursing staff enough. I know many people who work outside the hospital systems who earn much more and don't deserve it. Well done to Holmesglen. the hospital comes highly recommended.
Attended the ED at this hospital this week with my husband who was experiencing shortness of breath & chest pain, we sat there for over two hours in the evening as they were “extremely busy “. Then we were called into the ED ward where he was reviewed by. Doctor. During this short period of time a young lady from the front desk walked into our room with an Eftpos machine asking for payment of $320! I said what for as we were not told anything whilst we waited for over two hours that there is a fee just to see a doctor! She advised they were very busy tonight and had no time to inform us of upfront fees! The make young doctor who took my husband’s blood test damaged his arm and had to go in twice to do the blood test - he suffered extreme bruising on his hand (which for some reason I can’t post a picture on this post). Just ridiculous and incompetent. We would like a call from the hospital and refund for this experience, will not recommend going to this ED at any stage!
Not even worthy of a one star rating! Food disgusting... microwaved rubbish. My mother could only eat the sandwiches for 4 days as everything else was uneatable (this was the main reason why she ended up going home early). Full of agency nurses who don't read surgeons notes and whom only care about when their shift ends and would not care if there was a nurse to replace them. My mother was left in hospital gown for 2 days before offered a shower, she was basically left to nurse herself. Stint left in her arm until the surgeon asked why it was still in her arm when antibiotics ceased 24-hours earlier. Every request for a bed pan, pain medication, sick tray etc ... took at lest 30min to an hour to be actioned and most of the time only would be actioned due to a family member pushing the fact. Compared to other Private Hospitals this would be far the worst! Better treatment would have been had at a Public hospital. Don't waste your money or risk your families well-being!
My husband had spinal fusion surgery on 17.12.22. Pre admission we were advised he will be in hospital for a week and then rehab for a week. Day 3 after surgery my husband was told he was ready to go home. Even though we insisted on my husband staying longer and going to rehab we were rudely told that the bed was needed for other patients and he will be discharged. Day 4 after surgery my husband was bullied into signing the discharge forms even though he has limited English and no interpreter was called to assist with the translation of the documents. Even though we explained that there is no one at home to look after my husband because I am working the doctor simply said I will give you a carer certificate which was pointless because I do not have any personal leave. The hospital did not comply with their duty of care for their patient and he was not given any instructions from their physiotherapist as to what exercises he needs to do at home for recovery.
I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE! GP sent me to ED for immediate attention for a DVT. I understand they have a fee ($450) you're told prior to treatment which is important. However, I was discharged within 2hours, without meds, just a script in my pocket and given an opiate which makes you feel high as a kite, and in the middle of the night, ALONE. I crashed less than an hour later, severe pain, vomiting and nausea. The clot had gone to my stomach. Called ED, "sorry, no beds available now." The next 24-72hours was a nightmare! I was unable to fill the script, the ED denied giving me my first dose of blood thinners, which is pretty standard daily care for in patients. I was alone, severe pain, starting to panic, no sure who to call, it's 4am on a Wednesday. I understand everyone's cases are different and unique. And not everthing is foreseeable. That said, had they kepy me in just a little longer to obverse, everything would've been a lot different for me.
I was rushed to emergency by my mother on a Saturday evening where I was seen to immediately by very supportive and attentive nurses. I had an IV, blood cultures and fluids all up and running within 5 mins of arriving. The assessment by the emergency Dr on was fantastic. My diagnosis saw me be admitted for 6 days on the Dennis ward, where I was cared for by the most lovely and attentive nurses and staff. This ward is a very "heavy' surgical ward and the nurses were very busy at times but always answered my questions with a smile. The food was amazing and very nutritious with healthy options available and fresh fruit served daily. The emergency fee is equal to other private Hospitals in Melbourne so this did not bother me, especially with the high level of care I received. I was in a well known public hospital only a few nights before who dismissed my near fatal diagnosis so I am very grateful for our private system.
Had to follow up myself to get important info about costs and what to bring in. Went in on time but was made to wait an hour and a half to see a nurse to take blood pressure etc before my surgery. My main over night nurse was terrible and didn’t even know how to check my blood pressure, the other 3 nurses I had for very short amounts of time were great. I filled out the form for 2 meals as I had an overnight stay and they got both completely wrong to the point not 1 part of the meals were correct. I checked the box for a private room and I got a shared room with an obnoxious patient and couldn’t sleep the whole night. I was discharged with little instructions on what to do and avoid etc and even the little info I got was wrong. I then had to pay an additional $68 for pain meds which I’ve never had to do at a private hospital.
Very grateful for the care both my parents received whilst staying here at different times this year. My parents both speak very highly of their surgeons & the care the nurses gave during their stay. On the downside they did not like the food. I brought some food in for my dad but as there’s no kitchen facilities for patients or visitors I was told “if he doesn’t eat it today we will have to throw it out as we don’t have fridge space”. I couldn’t even make them a cup of tea while I was there, my only option was to go down to Hudson’s and buy them one. Perhaps we’d been spoiled by Peninsula Private who have lounges stocked with tea, coffee, biscuits, cold drinks & plenty of fridge and freezer space for patients to utilise. The priority was their care & that was met so 5 stars for the important things.
I would give this place - stars if I could. On the 4th of March I had a bad back injury where a bulge was detected between c3 and C4. I was asked if I had any other recent diagnosis to which I replied acute depression. At 4.30 am I was informed by the dr in ED that they didn't have patient with depression and what he referred to as substance abuse issues. I had been drinking as my fiance had left me 3 weeks ago. So they kicked me out onto the street calling me a taxi as by this point it was 5.50 am and I wasn't even allowed to finish sleeping there because of their staff. This is a horrible hospital with a toxic culture and I will be lodging specific complaints with the relevant authorities. But if you have an emergency don't bother with these inhumane, profit driven servile scum.
If I could give zero stars I would. ATTENTION! Never ever use any services in Holmsglen hospital. I spend almost 6 weeks at Mackellar Ward( it’s actually Mackella War). More then a half of nurses are incompetent, cold hearted people. The place is not safe, I contracted 2 types of infection including staph. My antibiotic chat was misread and I was under given antibiotics for 3 days, 9 nurses just rolled with the mistake without checking doctors chat!!! And after we’re trying to cover up the accident. Another day hospital run out of my antibiotics, because it was not ordered on time. There are a lot of elderly people in the hospital and they simply would not understand how they have been treated. Avoid this hospital at any costs!!!!
Hi, I have admitted my dear ones to your private hospital. It has been couple of days and I am unable to get answers of some basic questions on who is the primary doctor responsible? What is the current status? What tests are being taken and why? What is the potential next steps? It is pretty pathetic that a customer is not provided even such basic information. Can you please help to identify a primary doctor who will be responsible for treatment and provide an update ASAP? I have raised a complaint in your complaint register providing my details as well. I was wondering on what is the use of so much investment in infrastructure, people and processes when such basic questions could not be readily answered. Thanks in advance.
Just wanting to acknowledge the Holmesglen PH team and, thank them for the amazing, professional care and medical management my daughter received when unwell recently. My daughter was triaged, prioritised, admitted to Ed and within15 mins, pathology was taken and sent, Intra venous inserted, antibiotics started and other important medication given. I was advised my daughter was very sick and would need admission for ongoing management. I want to pass on my heart felt thanks to Dima an expert Nurse and Dr Jadon in ED, and, to all the staff in Kendall ward, especially Gaya, Hiba, Ida & Timy. A special thank you to Dr Kathleen Kan, for managing my daughters health care needs in a friendly, knowledgeable, kind fashion. Margy
Worst hospital ever money minded people asks people for money rather than how are tou please keep a board station only for rich people not for international people when they closed the border they didnt have people to work in any industry in any feild we are the one who are paying for your pension and medicare we also need to get services as equally as australia. Citizens pathetic hospital . Even they made us do unnecessary tests and when i went to monash they never did those tests on a daily basis they told me i need to do blood test every day and they did ct scan every day making an excuse every time. Shame on you they dont care about your health only money
Had my three night stay here . As a healthcare worker myself, I knew what to expect from staff and stay. Shout out mention to CHRISTEENA at the Paterson ward. Not only a wonderful nurse but a beautiful human. Look after her and keep her, she’s an asset!! Also a thumbs up to RAJ, PAT, HARRY and ART from the same ward. ART showed his amazing cannula insertion silks when I was so sick and got nausea under control nice and quick. Thank you to SNEEHA the ward manager who got me into my own room a day later after no sleep the night of arrival. All in all, stay was good. Thank you to the amazing, incredible DR LARA FREEMAN… No words for this surgeon. Just THANK YOU
Our father was recently admitted and suddenly passed away the day after. I am disappointed with the lack of empathy from staff in regards to his passing and how it all was handled. I get we are in the midst of lock down yet again, so no visits where allowed even by his carer, however my sister was not contacted throughout the day, not until the late evening to say he had suddenly died, then phoned back an hour later with an offer to go see him and oh yet what would you like us to do with his body, like seriously you cAnnot visit a live patient yet you can visit a dead one and you have nowhere to keep him overnight. Pathetic, un empathetic and incompetent.
Do not go here if you are trans, non-binary, or gender diverse. This hospital has no respect for gender or gender diversity. And when you complain about it, your complaint just goes into a void of nothingness. I spent an overnight stay here in late 2020, and not only was my enitire experience a botched nightmare, but the senior nurse was deliberately misgendering me even after she was told I was female. -edit- I even sent an email to the address they asked me to in the below reply, and of course, they cared so much, they never replied or even contacted me in any way. It's obvious that this hospital does not care about their patients.
I was in today at Holmesglen and it was a great experience. Clean modern, very friendly and professional hospital staff, no bad waits, and the surgery was great. Food and service was way better than other places I've been before too (which always makes things brttee. I was given the recommendation to go there and I have no hesitation to recommend this hospital for other patients. Plenty of Parking; $6 for 14 hours and onsite business hours Hudson's cafe, slightly offsite small IGA and cafes near by make it worth the trip for non working hours. Thanks to everyone who helped me today, made it a great experience.
My wife had knee surgery, the Anaesthesist injured her neck, now she has to have surgery on her Neck. Never again at this hospital..... After the above review the manager of the hospital rang me and explained to me that the Anesthesiologist doesn't work for the hospital but for the Surgeon, the Anesthesiologist rang and denied doing anything wrong implying that my wife is making things up, she has been at the Epworth for the past 5 days after her neck surgery. Thank you to the Manager of this hospital for contacting me and explaining that it is not the hospitals fault, I am so pleased for the feedback.
I had to have multiple surgeries to diagnose and fix a blocked ureter post C-section at Sandringham hospital. I am very glad that we chose Holmesglen private for my care. The staff helped me and my family immensely. I was admitted 3 weeks postpartum with an infant. The hospital supported us to accomodate my mom to be in the room with me to care for the Bub and I could continue to breastfeed. All the nurses and staff were excellent and very responsive. Along with nursing care they provided emotional support to our family during this tough time. I would highly recommend this hospital.
Worst Emergency Department! No assistance or wheelchair given to the patient on arrival while in severe pain and made to wait an eternity working in slow motion filling in paper work and processing the payment first! No one seemed to know what they were doing especially the nurses. An older nurse had the shakes so bad but was taking vials of blood where she couldn't keep the needle still in the patient's vein. Worst experience with no care or compassion. Was discharged without correct treatment only to have to return 2 days later to do what should have been done first time.
Poor Nurse at triage yelling my name and having to get another patent to tell me she was call ing me Expect that in public system not private Despite me giving new address all paperwork having old address on it Dr not listening to me Waiting 2 hours to be triaged despite saying no wait time on web site Darren nurse walking me into cubicle then walked out saying something and I had to limp our asking him what he said which was strip down to underwear and dr will examine you Dr did not take through hex and skimmed over my medical issues Go to another private hospital
I presented at ED very sick after 10 days trying to fight off what I thought was a serious virus. I did see a local doctor with blood tests along the way but no real help. I was taken into triage & quickly attended to with blood tests & a mobile chest scan & placed on an IV. 6 days later my Pneumonia was under control & I felt good, although weak but happy to go home. Dr Ramin, Dr Tesfai & all the nurses who cared for me on Mackellar ward were fabulous. I really did feel the genuine care. I made the right decision to go to Holmeglen. You fixed me. Thank you
Excellent hospital. Friendly and responsibly staff, warm environment. Everyone was easy to get along with, and best of all there was no hidden information from us in regards to our family member's issue and treatment. Everything was conversed really well, other than a miscommunication between a few staff which was resolved quickly. Service was great, a very short waiting time in emergency, informative services. Food was good, other than due to a language barrier not everything was always brought up. The hospital is nice and clean, very pleasant to stay in!
Last week I stayed at Holmesglen for a spinal procedure to remove a cyst. Craig Timms was incredible! A lovely surgeon that was kind, professional and genuine. The nurses were AMAZING and they were so understanding of my anxiety. The staff were caring and I’d really like to pass along my gratitude for the way I was treated. Jess, Wendy and other nurses were compassionate, supportive, empathetic and I really appreciated the excellent standard of care they provided. THANK YOU nurses in the Dennis ward. I honestly think the world of you!
A fantastic hospital which has treated my elderly parents and sister and now me. I presented with Acute Appendicitis and was treated so beautifully from emergency into surgery and recovery. My case was complicated, but surgeon Mr Mani Niazi was exceptionally skilled and saved my life. Every step of the way I felt supported by the beautiful nurses like Hansini, Phillip, Harry, Sam and Anisa in ED. Even the food was great. You have to pay $450 out of pocket to come to emergency here, but for my family it has been worth it every time.
EXCEPTION EFFICIENT CARE. A wonderful doctors nurses technicians and food staff ! They basically saved my life. I presented to the emergency department, extremely unwell. They made me comfortable, organised some tests and then made a diagnosis. Surgery was organised so promptly with a fabulous outcome. The ward staff were understanding, compassionate, patient, attentive and caring. Yummy menu from the kitchen. The Holmesglen team that provided me with everything I needed for a quick recovery. THANK YOU HOLMESGLEN HOSPITAL xxxxx
I had to go to the emergency department this morning with a severe Head ache. I cannot speak highly enough of the whole process and all staff for their concern, politeness, professionalism, speed of assistance etc. well done to everyone from the moment I arrived at the front desk to the time I left. Being new to the area it was our first visit and as I am well into my 70’s this was not the first hospital I have had to attend. I can highly recommend this facility. Thank you again to everyone.
I’ve just got home and discharged today. Yes the meals aren’t great and hopefully management can work on that to improve the patience experience, but the care is excellent. That is what you go there for. From emergency through to my 3 day stay, the nurses were excellent, accomodating, resourceful and nothing was ever a problem. Special thanks to Edgar (or Edward or Gary) for looking after me in Paterson ward, thank you . Great nurses at Holmesglen, such special people our nurses
Very recently, I've had my third stay in 7 months in Holmesglen Hospital, both in Emergency and the Cardiac Ward and couldn't speak too highly of the attention and care given by the nurses, doctors and all other members of the staff. The nurses are attentive, kind and thoughtful. The food has improved and is now generally interesting and tasty. Parking can be tight at times, but space can usually be found and the parking fee is unusually small. I would thoroughly recommend this hospital.
In late May, I was taken by ambulance to the Emergency Department at Holmesglen, where I was diagnosed with “shoulder dislocation” after a fall. I would like to thank my treating doctor: Dr Philip Robinson for his competence and his kind demeanour and Dr Kenna for assisting him. I would also like to say a big thanks to lovely nurses: Sarah, Laura and Susie for looking after me throughout the night. Thank you Holmesglen for providing me with exceptional care and 5* service!
Have been here twice recently and both times I have been very impressed with the professional level of care of all the staff. Without exception they show genuine interest and concern for my welfare and wellbeing and see highly attentive. The facilities appear to be first class and very clean, especially in these Covid19 times. Both visits were only day surgery, but I imagine the overnight stay would be just as good. Would certainly recommend Holmesglen to anyone.
Our family has had to use ER and the hospital continuously over the last two years, due to a cancer diagnosis. And the care we have received by every department has been absolutely incredible! The ER nurses and doctors have comforted my family at our worst time. Our oncologist, the support staff and everyone at the Infusion Centre are empathetic, informative and caring. During this difficult time for our family, we are so very grateful to everyone at Holmesglen.
I came for an x ray because of a broken thumb I paid before came to the hospital , I arrive emergency with a full bandage on my hand and tell them I have pain and they make me wait 4 hours on the emergency room with just 2 people more waiting , I just needed the x ray when I ask they told me “shouldn’t take to much” . it’s been 4 hours sitting with pain , with a payment done . Don’t come at least to emergency unless you want to wait 4 or 5 hours for a service .
Been comparing between rehab clinic between Homesglen Private and South Eastern Private, I dropped by without appointment before mom’s surgery. Julie at Kendall Ward was extremely helpful and arranged Soon (Gym Manager) to take us around the gym facility. Soon introduced us to Shelley (physiotherapist), both of them were very professional and patiently answering our questions. Based on my experience, I’m sure that in-patient services at Homesglen are great.
Poor communication with staff in radiology and receptionist. We have to wait for more than an hour just to learn that xray cannot be performed today because there’s missing information need to be filled by the doctor. The receptionist said that ED is busy that’s why they missed that. I saw that ED is not busy at all. The receptionists in the radiology dept were just chatting in their seats and not aware of the patients who are waiting in their waiting area
I have had 2 day procedures and recently a 4 day stay at Holmesglen and can't fault it..only the food, but I was told that they will shortly have their own kitchen with fresh meals. I found all staff to be pleasant, caring and obliging. The 3 doctors that I saw, each in different specialties, where exceptional. Patient and caring. I am being admitted for another procedure later this week, and all being well, an operation in a few weeks.
I took my wife to the emergency in the middle of the night as she'd contracted pneumonia and was having trouble breathing properly. She was promptly tested and admitted for four days. This place is fantastic! Nobody wants to be in a hospital, but if you must, this is the place to be. Great staff, very nice surroundings and excellent food. With private health cover, it only cost $300 for the whole stay. Very happy. Keep up the good work.
Out standing student couldn't help me enough thank you Sikander you legend and to the female Indian nurse on the mackellar ward by the name of Tincy that was on night shift on the 25 October 2021 very rude and arrogant and expected me to take my medication after it fell on a dirty floor shame on you all you are is a dirty filthy person please consider Saint John Of God Hospital in Berwick it is a very outstanding hospital
Thankful for my surgeon who did an amazing procedure. However, the nurses on the Dennis ward treated me like another number. Didn’t care when I was crying in pain for days. Treated me with no dignity and respect, just a burden. Spare a few nurses who cared. The ANUM literally walked out of my room whilst I was asking her questions, flat out ignored me and didn’t come back. Terrible nurses, if you don’t like your job DONT DO IT
The care I received 2 weeks ago was of the highest standard! I am so proud to be part of the Holmesglen team and I will definitely be referring all my friends to the hospital. The staff in ED/theatre/PACU and Dennis ward are the most compassionate and caring group of professionals I have had the pleasure to encounter! Holmesglen should be so proud ! A streamline seamless and painless procedure! Regard Chris Dennis ward
From the time we entered this hospital it has been one thing after another. Their lack of communication to their Service is appauling. Being a private hospital you would think they would really want to help us. We were unable to get our refund from the private health insurers cause the hospital staff were incompetent and blaming each other for not filling a form. Would not recommend this hospital for any surgeries.
Having spent two nights at Holmesglen, following surgery, the quality of service was exemplary.. Every one of the staff, I encountered, did a great job in a friendly & efficient manner.. With regards to the food, you are given a menu, the preceding day, with a varied choice of 3 courses for each meal. All the meals I ate were well prepared. No complaints. I have no hesitation in recommending the hospital
had day surgery today 30 may was a such a great experience every person involved in my procedure was amazing from front desk to nurses and course theatre staff first class the hospital is definitely 10/10 ( any one that has a bad experience should just reflect on if it wasn't for the incredible medical staff that attends to you and the life's they save every day and the long hours they all work
Everyone was very helpful especially Ed and Ikba from imaging who helped me through my anxieties. Dr Aaron and Harris were very professional, thorough and empathetic. Wouldn’t hesitate going here again. Clean, friendly environment. Yes, its a $320 charge but thats the norm with private hospitals - a much better alternative than lying on a trolley for hours at Monash You get what you pay for
I have been to Holmesglen hospital as a patient for day procedures. I couldn’t emphasise and praise enough all staff professionalism and caring attitudes. All drs, anaesthetists and nurses are so friendly and approachable. Didn’t rush anything, answered all my questions prior procedures. Postoperative discharge summary is detailed. Thank you guys! I appreciate what you all have done.
I had Day Surgery at Holmsglen and as a RN who suffers from PTSD. The Admin and nursing staff are amongst the most efficient, professional, supportive and caring I've had the pleasure of knowing even for a short time. My heartfelt thanks to Ria, Helen, Amanda and all I've forgotten (I'm so sorry!). You made me feel pride in my profession and most of all safe. Thankyou x
Starting from the emergency room till the surgery , i felt so comfortable although my pain was incredible. The nurses are so helpful and friendly, so caring and help you feel comfortable. The anaesthetic doctor and the surgeons are very professional, they explain everything clearly in a nice way, help you relax and feel that you are in safe hands. Thank you so much.
I never ever write reviews!!!! I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who I experienced at Holmesglen. The nurses made me feel at ease even know I was freaking out. After my op they constantly checked on me and we had lovely conversations. I would recommend this hospital. I hope I won’t have to visit anytime soon but if I do I will attend here again. X
What a shame with lovely nurses and other caregivers. But the first person I met was the money taker. I'm private and have $300 excess on top cover. Not enough for Holmsglen. $700 later there excess plus some special fee. Wasn't there a day before a quick transfer out for a scan and surprise surprise can't come back to finish my paid time. I was nice then, not now.
I had a day procedure yesterday and even though I felt odd coming out of Anaesthesia everybody was so professional & understanding, ALL of the nursing staff did such an amazing job for my stay there. My Doctor Dr Manju Argarwal & my Anaesthetist Dr Deborah Bell were amazing. And last Mary who admitted me, what a beautiful lady you are. Thank you all. Nards.xo
I’d like to thank the medical, theatre, nursing, clerical, kitchen, cleaning and orderly staff for the fabulous care I experienced while I was an inpatient at Holmesglen Private Hospital. My 3 night and 4 day experience was remarkably heartwarming and I feel very grateful to have crossed paths with all of these beautiful people. Regards Lynn McIntosh
After a two week stay, I can't recommend Holmesglen Private Hospital more highly. From the time I was admitted to ED, all of the doctor's and nurses were amazing. The best surprise was the food - great choice and better than a lot of restaurants. A huge shout out for the care and compassion provided by Dr Sam Kaldas and nurses Alex and Crystal.
Husband spent 24hours in emergency with severe gastro and no access to toilet or anywhere to wash hands. Hospital was so short-staffed he was reliant on drinking water brought in from home. He was discharged without antibiotics resulting in a reoccurance which meant an unnecessary extra week off work. No wonder they get you to pay on admission!
Worth private hospital ever. You better of going public rather this money grabing mob. My wife felt very ill last night. She has been feeling unwell over last few weeks and been getting worth. She admitted herself into emergency department. Paid access of $500 plus insurance. Just to be told go and see your gp for further tests. Discusting
Attended ED on 16/9/2023. Lovely triage nurse who had a personality and sense of humour. In super quick to a bed where I was seen within 5 minutes by Dr David Maccora. Amazing doctor and bedside manner not just with me but other patients I saw. Promptly examined and tests ran before a later discharge. Highly recommend very good service.
All staff were professional, courteous & very understanding of a younger, nervous patient. The hospital amenities were very clean & modern. It’s a great hospital offering a wide range of medical services. A BIG Thank you to all the surgeons, specialists, doctors, nurses and the entire staffing team at this hospital! Job well done!!
That is the worst experience in my life. The nurse is very unprofessional, some nurses like bring there bad emotion with patient, some nurses can even bullying the patient. Long waiting time, would like to ask nurse when doctor can arrive but nurse seems not helping and she is very impatient. I will never go there again!!!!
The MRI imaging is very expensive and not claimable on medicare or private health. Also CT scan is double the price that both medicare and private health pay together. (In-patent services you find out about after admission), We were given a consent disclosure form for the MRI AFTER you're admitted through emergency..
I went to this hospital last year paid hundreds dollars and wanted my extreme pain sorted but get nothing. I didn’t get any test, examinations or medical treatment from here also I was told by a female doctor I need to go to see my GP. I couldn’t believe she is a doctor and makes me feel very unprofessional.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff who cared for my 15 month old daughter who was admitted to Homesglen for her grommet surgery recently. She received outstanding care from every single nurse during her stay making her and I feel as comfortable as possible. I couldn’t recommend Homesglen more highly.
My husband came in today for day procedure from entering the front desk at 7 this morning the receptionist Deb was helpful and welcoming. Then when my husband was admitted the surgeon was great and the nurse (Ann) well what can i say bloody fantastic, to all staff thankyou so much. Nick and Helen x
I had a very good experience at this hospital via planned admission. The nurses were lovely , the rooms were clean and I was well taken care of. I’ve been admitted to 3 other different hospitals over the last few years and If I ever have to come to hospital again I will definitely choose this one.
I was a patient in Homesglen hospital for a few days.I had multiple nurses including Edgar, Pat, Seluna, Darcy and a lovely students named Prumina and Carina. They were all fantastic. They were attentive, respectful and professional. I just want to thank them for their time and effort. Thank you
Holmesglen Private Hospital is handily 5 minutes away so both husband and I have been coming here for procedures and seeing specialists, when needed for years. 10.2.23 just visiting friend and was pleased to see, out window, massive bank of solar power panels, Holmesglen are using. Excellent.
Kind, compassionate, and all around great service! The check in process was seamless and the front desk staff was friendly. The nursing staff went above and beyond to make me comfortable. The doctor did a thorough job and took the time to make sure I understand my treatment. So impressed!
I have been a patient for the past 4 years in my experience they have been the best hospital clean spacious very well equipped and magnificent staff from ground all the way to the specialists well done to everyone in Holmesglen hospital, nurses amazing care and second-to-none thank you
I’ve been coming to Holmsglen Private for my surgeries for years now and their customer service and patient care is next level ! All the staff are so friendly and extremely helpful, I’ve never had a bad experience here I always recommend my family and friends to come here ! :)
I was admited to the hospital on Sunday 9th of January 2022 with pnevmonia. Basically did not have to wait hours on end . Nurses are wonderful. Great professional service. I couldn't thank enought Dr. Bardia Bayat and Dr. Eric who looked after me. Million thanks to all of you.
Considering this is an expensive private hospital, where they ask for $220 payment before they ask "how are you" or "what's the problem?" the lack of service and evident care is outstanding. Aggression to staff is not ok NEITHER is passive aggression to patient or family ok!
Too busy covering up poor practises of incompetent doctors then actually treating patients to keep them alive and hey if it's too hard they send them to a public hospital let's hope you never go there.. all you had to do was the most basic administering of antibiotics …
I can’t thank the staff at the emergency department enough. I visited this morning, and the staff could not do enough for me. Thank you for the scans, then the results, and handing me over to the appropriate department. I will forever be very grateful to you all.
Went in for a day a procedure today was very impressed with this hospital. Very professional staff from admitting, nurses and surgeon. I was very nervous about procedure but with great support from everyone the day went well. Thanks to everyone for your support.
Day surgery only: 1st Visit Excellent: 1. All Staff. 2. Facilities. 3. Parking. Overnight Stay: 2nd Visit Average: 1. Private Room = noisy. 2. Nursing average - 1 exception only. 3. Dysfunction between Specialist & Staff. = Day visits only for future visits.
My 96 yr old mum was admitted on Monday to the Dennis ward and today Sunday l bought her home. The care from all the staff was/ is fantastic. My mother was given the best care, this hospital is the best. Thankyou to all the staff there that work so hard.
Great location. No waiting when entering via emergency although quite expensive. Happy and caring staff Hospital is clean and comfortable. Easy transition from the medical ward to rehab. I have enjoyed my recovery and appreciate everyone’s help. Patricia
All staff were amazing & the hospital is wonderful. I was treated with care and respect by every single staff member. They helped my condition and I felt much better. There is absolutely nothing negative to say. The best treatment I've ever received.
Couldn’t speak more highly of the nurses here. I’ve been put in the coronary ward because general ward is full. All the staff are fantastic especially my night nurse- Beata. You can tell when someone is really passionate about their job. Top service!
My 72 year old Dad has been in this hospital for over a week, I live in Sydney. There have been complications but so far I have no communication from anyone even though I have left messages for the so called Doctor to call me but still no response.
I stayed and Holmesglen Private hospital for 2 Days in the Dennis ward. The staff and all the nurses that cared for me were fantastic. The physio, the catering, and the facilities were exceptional. Very friendly staff and a pleasure to deal
I have recently been in Holmesglen Hospital one night in I.C.U and 3 days recovery on the 3rd floor in a private room. I have never been so comfortable and looked after to make my stay stress free. Thankyou to the wonderful staff.
Food average when finally served ... Totally messed up breakfast order for our room. Too bad if you like coffee ... now 9 o'clock and been offered one coffee at 7:30ish. Nursing and Admittance staff are friendly and professional.
Stayed for two days. Couldn't speak more highly of the treatment there. Nursing staff were excellent. Easy to talk to and keen to make sure I was comfortable after the operation. Very professional in post operative care as well.
I have already posted a review of the hospital, which is possibly second to none. I neglected to say that the last 10 days I spent on the paterson ward, with the most competent pleasant staff. Many thanks for the wonderful care.
We have been here since 0800 my wife has had her procedure and now I'm waiting for a bed, well over 3.30 hours still waiting, should be able to claim a meal allowance,?. will be here at least till 2000 hrs, Laurie Munding.
Presented to ED was triaged by admin and told not to bother as there’s a wait. She didn’t even assess just said it’s too busy you should go elsewhere. Went to Cabrini and was admitted straight away. Very unsafe process.
SHAME on your hospital & your staff that treated Annie & her unborn baby! You’ve destroyed their families, friends & loved ones lives! Turn their lives around by doing the right thing and helping her loved find answers!
The best. All staff are friendly and patients are made to feel assured and comfortable. The nursing staff, in particular, treat each other with respect and obviously enjoy their working environment. Always a good sign.
We visited this hospital today to show our boy in medical emergency section and they said that nothing will be covered in insurance without even seeing our private health insurance card. Very disponted by the response.
Recently went coupe of times to visit a friend , the staff was friendly, efficient, and almost all of them were warm, caring and helpfull. At times they seemed to be inadequately staffed. I have actually seen nurses
Bad bad hospital Moylan and child died due to undetected sepsis. They should have sent blood sample to correct lab and also could have chased results. It's all about profit and little care for patients.
Pleasant experience Went there for a day procedure Professional staff, and amazing patient care. Really stress free experience Thanks to the team of nurses in theatre and day surgery for awesome care
You would think that going to a private hospital and paying over $300 you would not have to wait in emergency for 5 hours just to see a dr. Should have saved my $ and gone to Monash hospital
Just had 2 upper wisdom terth out. Very good hospital. So clean, So Friendly. Dr.s, Nurses, Theatre Staff are so good and perfectly friendly, positive attitide. Highly recomnended hospital.
Not co-operative and misleading in many ways. What u sign and communicate is completely different than u receive.better go with public hospital. Never use any private facility. Worst mgmt.
