I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming café, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel at ease. The café's décor was tasteful, with cozy seating arrangements and beautiful artwork adorning the walls. The menu offered a delightful selection of beverages and delectable treats. The baristas were skilled and passionate, crafting each drink with precision and care. My cappuccino was a work of art, with a perfect balance of rich espresso and velvety foam. The pastries I indulged in were fresh, flavorful, and made with high-quality ingredients. The café staff provided exceptional service, with attentive and friendly servers who went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. The ambiance was conducive to relaxation and conversation, making it an ideal spot for meeting friends or enjoying some peaceful solitude. Furthermore, the café's commitment to sustainability was evident, with eco-friendly practices and locally sourced ingredients. This attention to ethical practices added to the overall appeal and made me appreciate the café even more. In conclusion, this café delivered an exceptional experience through its cozy atmosphere, delicious offerings, attentive service, and commitment to sustainability. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable café experience.

We used to love going here every weekend since it's local to me and the pastries are delicious but will no longer be coming back. Typically I go in to order and pay with my small dog (he is <2kg, always carried and never barks) and then go sit outside or get takeaway. The last two times myself or my partner went in, we were told by a man we hadn't interacted with before that we could not carry the dog inside with us, even just to order and pay. We were instead requested somewhat rudely to stand outside the door and shout our order to the girl at the counter and wait for someone to come with the card machine to take our payment, which was quite frankly insulting and a little embarrassing while other customers were entering the cafe. Both times another staff member actually apologised to us. I have never been asked to do something like this in any other coffee shop while coming in to get a takeaway order. I am not sure why this is suddenly a new policy after at least the last 6 months of no issues coming in to order and pay while carrying my dog, but regardless, the treatment from whom I assume to be the manager was extremely rude and surprising considering we were loyal customers. I can't see this change of policy being of any benefit to Il Valentino considering how often I see dog owners there and from now on we will be going elsewhere.

Oh my sweet mother of divine love , this artisanal café pastry shop is a true gem! If you're a dessert lover, you can't miss El Valentino. Their selection of handmade cakes, pies and sweets is so extensive that you'll have a hard time deciding on just one. But don't worry, you can try them all! Or at least that's what I tried to do. My friend and I ordered a variety of cakes and pies to share, and every bite was like an explosion of flavour in our mouths. My taste buds are still dancing. And not only that, but the coffee is equally delicious. I loved the fresh and tempting aroma coming from the coffee maker. And the latte art on my coffee was so pretty that I almost felt bad drinking it. Almost. The atmosphere at El Valentino is cozy and relaxed, perfect for enjoying a sweet afternoon with friends or family. And the staff is very friendly and helpful! In summary, if you want to satisfy your sugar cravings in style, head to El Valentino. But be careful, you may never want to leave! ☕️

The food and produce here is expensive but generally good. The sandwiches are best if toasted. The big problem is how slow the service is. If you are on the clock, then do not ask for a toasted option! It always seems to take 15 minutes+. (I've had this happen multiple times.) Today, I was under time pressure, so I asked for a take-away of two toasted sandwiches. I waited more than 20 minutes. I watched the staff work the orders. Very slow, even for simple food and coffee orders. Seeing no sign of my order, I went up to ask about progress. Only then, was I told that one of my sandwiches was burnt and that they would have to start toasting another one. I said that I didn't have time and took an untoasted sandwich. I did get a quick apology, but why was I not told that the sandwich was burnt? It looks like they were going to have me wait another 15 mins without letting me know.

Brilliant! I wish I'd discovered this place sooner - amazing, proper Italian style coffee, and I'd say world-class pastries, Italian inspired. Great variety too. Friendly staff. Lots of pistacchio based choices, my favourite flavour. All of these are really hard to find in Dublin, saying that as a person who's always on the lookout for perfect coffee, cakes and pastries. I've become a regular customer now. The only con: I wish they had more indoor seats. I think they should just expand into the Cafe Nero branch next door and take over their premises :) This is the real deal - support local, amazing businesses like this one. We need more places like this and less Starbucks, Costas and Neros. Thank you, Valentino!

Had a wonderful salmon sandwich here with superb salmon and an excellent chaii latte. My problem was the service. I made my order and given a number went outside and my sandwich arrived quickly after being toasted. I was told my chaii will be ready soon. I wanted 15 mins and then asked why my chai had not arrived and was told i had to come in and collect it. Why give a number and deliver the sandwich and not the chaii ?? I chatted with customers who agreed that they found the server abrubt and they agreed. It s a real downer as the products were bang on the money but the service was substandard. They should make it clear at ordering that drinks need to be collected.

Their Veg Croissant is a must try, if you are a vegetarian. Coffees are amazing - we tried Cappuccino & Latte. We also tried the Elcair Pistachio and it was good - personally I would have preferred it warm ! So, I visited this bakery for the third time and it’s my go to place now. All the food options are just amazing. Plus, you get a lot of beverages options. The staff has always been very cordial and nice. If you are looking to enjoy some coffee in peace, beside the river then it’s a good place. Definitely recommend it ! Pizzas could have been better - so you might wanna set your expectation in terms of what to expect :) All and all, it’s a must visit ! Cheers,

Nice place.Fantastic French desserts and coffees. Indoor & outdoor seatings. Cakes made to order. We bought a takeaway coffee from Fresh(next door) and came in and bought a cake for me.( same price for inside and outside) and sat down outside. It was chilly day and few places were available outside .Staff member clearing tables pointed out to us that we are not allowed to eat a cake if we bought it for takeaway. Yak.All good impression about the place was gone. Its a tiny thing- we did not hold a place for long as it was chilly and we had a class nearby and price for particular cake was same for inside and outside eating.

Always my go to place whenever I want some cakes/ coffee/ matcha latte. I have tried a lot of their menus, and nothing fails. So far everything tastes great, especially their cakes, my personal favorites are: Tiramisu, Strawberry vanilla tarts, Strawberry pistachio tarts, Chocolate tarts, Chocolate chantilly cake, Pistachio croissant, and Matcha latte (with non-dairy options).

Will never go back to Il Valentinos again. Ordered my coffee to sit in and waited 20 minutes. Went back up to politely ask was it ready. Was met by a waiter who tried to make out I hadn't paid for it or ordered at the till and made a big deal about making me come up to collect it (he actually taunted me in front of other staff and customers which was horrible). No apology for the delay, very unprofessional . I understand people forgetting an order but there was no need for the rude attitude to go with it

  • adriana neamtu

One of the best coffees you can drink in Dublin. Delicious pastries. I cannot help myself but going every weekend for a coffee there and it’s not in my neighbourhood A mocha to kill for People working there seem pretty tired and not in the mood to smile back, but I am not going there to make friends, so I can tolerate it. It would be great if they could be a bit nicer but as long as they sell amazing products, I am not bothered. Highly recommend.

  • Henry C

It's a nice place with good coffee. Sandwiches and deserts look nice. The seating area is a bit small, but can be free depending on the time of day. There is also seating just outside the main shop. Some of the seating overlooks the docks and has a nice view.Service is really efficient as someone usually takes a food order and another will take a coffee order and then move along to the next person. Unusually efficient for an Italian shop

  • Alex Webb

Absolutely love everything I have had from here. At any time of the day you can find what you are looking for whether it is breakfast lunch or just a sweet treat. The chicken salad and the scones are a must try! It can get really busy and a bit chaotic inside but just be patient:)

Il Valentino in Dublin city centre’s Grand Canal Dock is a lovely café and bakery with a cozy atmosphere. I only ordered iced mocha café with oat milk and the service at the time was very speedy. The iced coffee was really good and unlike some of the competition, the level of sweetness was just right. The place is kept very clean and the food looked great too, something I’d like to try next time I’m in this part of Dublin.

I visited yesterday for the first time, when requested for food allergen info, the staff was very rude to direct me to the barcode. If you're that annoyed to answer basic questions, you shouldn't be working there. I was so excited visiting that cafe. Not visiting again cause of that one staff.

Very popular cafe! Lived upto it’s expectations. Often times a dessert looks fabulous but tastes underwhelming. This was not the case here. The strawberry pistachio tart looked fabulous and tasted even better! The coffee was a nice accompaniment as well. Tried the tiramisu cake for a special occasion, which was good. Plain croissant was buttery and flakey - tasted fresh! The staff is friendly, courteous and accommodating.

  • Renita Lalite

Very disappointed with my birthday cake yesterday.... A black forest semifreddo which I always purchase. There was 5mm of chocolate sponge, and a little chocolate mousse, a scattering of amaretto cherries, AND A WHOLE LOT OF WHIPPED CREAM!!!!!! It was like I eating whipped cream for a cake... Not black forest at all..... If this is the cost cutting measure by dousing it with whipping cream.... YUCK... WON'T BE BACK....

  • Aflex Ab

Very nice selection of sandwiches, pastries and cakes, the dough of the focaccia was great. The coffee was great too. The attention-staff attitude can be improved the staff are a bit impatient in general, they offer an annoying face to the previous 3 customers I had because they were unsure what to choose, in special to a lady whit her son that was a kid, he was in Disney seeing all those cakes.

  • AlanaSophia

Good coffee, friendly staff, prime location, delicious looking pastries. Came for a cappuccino on a Sunday afternoon to drink by the Google docs it was made promptly the staff was very friendly and it was a real cappuccino not a latte. Finally a real cappuccino in Dublin! The coffee was good, a bit weak, not the best that I’ve had in the city. Will return for a flat white soon.

  • Carlo Pisapia

If you want to have dessert and a cappuccino or coffee in the lovely plaza of gran canal overlooking the sea, Il Valentino is the place to go. A peace of Italy in Dublin. I've always discovered quality, variety, and quick service here. Although the prices are pretty exorbitant (the tart in the picture costs more than €5), I keep trying to stop here when I can for a break.

  • Danielle T

There's always a wait here and for good reason - the pastries and baked goods are delicious. The coffee and cappuccinos after quite good as well. I've had the creme filled croissant and have also brought an assortment of pastries to work - everyone was excited when they saw where it's from. Definitely a treat. I will the space was a bit larger as it can get crammed.

  • Pavlina Staneva

Everything in this caffee is amazing. Starting with the lovely professional Italian staff, the tasty treats, pastries, salads, sandwiches and soups, the hot chocolate, and last but not least , the best coffee. They have a display with lovely cakes for different occasions too. The location of Valentinos shop is perfect and they have sitting areas inside and outside.

  • Helene Turin

This is an original concept: a bakery without bread! Apparently they don't bake bread every day and seem to find this very normal! Service is not friendly at all. Also, they overcharged me by making me pay for an extra croissant and I only realized later, so definitely not a good experience. Some of their pastries are really not great, such as the tropézienne.

  • Muhammed Cifci

Per se a good thing for a good snack, but seeing the price-value it's definitely not something which can be recommended. If you prefer pastry, you definitely can find places who value their value versus prices. Further the service for the price was mediocre, the ambience seems to be unmaintained; broken chairs, tables not cleaned between customer visits.

  • Ubi

Coffee (5/5): Hands down, the cappuccino we had here was one of the best ones in Dublin. Sandwiches (5/5): The sandwiches were really yummy. Although the topics were a not super generously filled in, the overall taste was great. Cost (3/5): The price of the sandwiches was a bit too high. Bonus: The location of this cafe is great.

This is the best of Dublin! Ample seating both indoor and outdoor. There are a wide range of bakery items that are made fresh every day and taste delicious. You can’t go wrong with any of the beverages or food items. This is a must see if you are nearby. There’s also a terrace view of the water, which is perfect for relaxing!

Enjoyed the coffee and pastries but won’t be going back again. Owner continuously glared at me as I had my laptop out (while drinking coffee). Very strange and uncomfortable. If there is a no laptop policy, then either advertise it clearly or have a quiet word with the customers - don’t sulk and glare at them.

  • Giuseppe Milo

Best Italian bar in Dublin, approved by Italians :-) coffee is great and the bakery is fantastic. Try the almond or pistachio croissant, my favourites! Also the staff is attentive and very professional. Kudos to Davide for being a cappuccino master and to Sabrina to always have the best smile!

  • Marco Bella

Similar experience with Renita. Purchased a Pavarotti cake and the sponge base was as thick as half of cake, which made the cake dry also very little chocolate mouse. Giving the spicy prices €39.95 for a cake I think you should rethink your savings plans. Not coming back here! …

  • Jakub Szoska

A very nice place in the heart of Dublin docklands, massive variety of cakes and sandwiches. Staff is also lovely, and service is ok. Prices are a bit high, but Dublin is becoming one of the most expensive place on earth and cost of rent insurance etc drive those prices up .

  • Veronica Sesoko

Location is the only positive attribute here, unfriendly service and below average baked goods. I would have taken them back to the counter but I was made to feel like a massive inconvenience just for ordering so who knows what would have happened had I dared complain!

This cafe serves very good sandwiches and pastries. The pastries are really good quality although the choice is a little limited. The coffee is excellent but the hot chocolate was disappointing. There's a small outdoor seating area with nice views of the docks.

  • Marc-André Giroux

Excellent fresh pastries. My parents came to visit from Canada and went back twice because they loved it so much. The location is great with the view on the grand canal and prices are fair too! Coffee could be warmer but apart from that, everything is perfect!

  • Hikmet Demir

Charging 4.8 Euro for an ice latte is basically scam. The Ice latte was super bitter, the barista was kind enough to do it again but it's the same result. How an Ice latte can be bitter, either they have very dark roasted coffee beans or non-fresh milk

Price-wise most of the people pastries, cakes and breads are more expensive than elsewhere but they do worth the price. One of the best Croissant and Pain au Chocolat outside Paris, but the Italian pastries and cakes are also worth the buck!

  • Vinícius Souza

Used to be a very good place to go. The coffee is still ok but the pastries are never warm enough (not sure if it is because of the oven or the time they cook it). Also the friendly staff seem to have left and the remaining staff is cold

If you are looking for traditional Italian pastries and coffee, this is the best place in Dublin (recommended by Italians!!). Pastries are always fresh and the pistachio croissants are to die for. Cappuccino is amazing, the best in town!

Great bakery! Good food, tasty pastries. But miscommunication when it comes to the drinks. Had a number for bringing it tot he table but I had to wait very long and nothing was brought. Cappuccino was not hot anymore.

If you want a decent , tasty coffee that won't break the bank then Il Valentino is the place to go. The gem of Grand Canal Dock. The staff are so nice and friendly too. Davide does the best frothy cappuccino's. 10/10

  • Harish Arunachalam

Pretty great coffee. Some desserts are just delicious! Cakes are really worth it - especially the Tiramisu. Savory food is average. Definitely a bit pricey, which is probably the primary reason it's one less star.

  • Wei-Heng Chow

My go-to place for breakfast when I was in Dublin. Stayed near by the docks. And it is conveniently located. Great coffee, bread & pastries to start the day. Service is also good & efficient. Highly recommended

  • Sinan Surucu

The food and the coffee taste great but they need a proper manager and the staff needs proper training. Sometimes they talk like they're scolding you. Some of them are very nice though but it’s not consistent.

  • Ismat Alhassan

Amazing coffee shop with delicious and authentic Italian pastries and great coffee. Felt like being in Italy again. Service was fast and the people were kind, i’ll definitely go back if I’m in Dublin again.

An amazing bakery with variety of coffee, breads and sweets. It has limited stocks, mostly by afternoon everything is sold out. Try to reach there by morning and enjoy the dessert, it’s really worth trying

  • John Smith

Il Valentino Bakery is a wonderful place in term of coffee, sandwiches and patisserie items, and it has exceptional staff. David, the manager, has a tremendous way with both guests and staff...it shows!

  • Enakshi Chanda

Fresh bakery products. If you like breads, go to the store when it opens around 7 as it’s a fast seller. Have had loads of cakes and pastries which are equally good. I recommend their strawberry cakes.

Fantastic little cafe with great coffee, tasty food, and friendly staff. They've set high standards on running a cafe which gets you hooked. If you're in the area, this cafe is a must visit!

  • Lilian McCarthy

Food is great, lots of good options but NOT FOR GLUTEN FREE. It’s super chaotic at peak times and the layout makes little sense. Coffee isn’t very good unfortunately and matcha is too sweet

  • Jules Raffin

What’s all the hype about this tiny shop with waiters so busy they don’t have time to smile. I can even name 5 other cafés around with better value.. Not a fan of this one. Avoid pastries.
