We went for brunch today after so many months of not dining here and were disappointed with the dining experience. First, they have gotten rid of the metro special which is usually our go to order. My friends ordered the pancakes and added extra sides such as scrambled eggs and streaky bacon which mimics the metro special. One of the pancakes they served him was burnt. I ordered the chicken and chorizo jambalaya which caught my attention as its quite new on the revamped menu. I was disappointed when it arrived as it didn’t look appetizing at all and is something that I think I can easily do in my kitchen. Will probably not be back for a long while and prefer to go somewhere else for brunch.

Used to go to this spot regularly while I was working in the city centre and it was always decent and reliable. The quality has gone way down. Firstly, the staff were nice and I couldn't fault them. The rating hs nothing to do with them. However, I decided to have a quick scrambled eggs on toast today. Eggs were dry and tasteless to say the least, not a bit of seasoning added to them. The added sausage was like rubber and was more suitable as a dog chew-toy. The toast tasted like it had been prepared about an hour before and was sitting under a heat lamp since. Lifeless. Worst plate of food I've received in a while.

One particular staff was quite rude and very clearly discriminated against me. The other staff were lovely but my interactions with that one staff put a damper on my meal with my friends. She even tried to take away my friend's plate before he was finished with his meal. I had the pancakes and found them to be fluffy but plain. Friend had scrambled eggs that were dry. I wouldn't recommend it here if you are looking for a chill atmosphere to catch up with your mates. Constantly felt like we were a hindrance and that we were being pressured to leave.

I met a friend for lunch here on a Sunday. Seats were cramped, place was very busy. Fair enough that happens. My main problem was that I ordered an Irish stew which cost more than €15 and I got a tiny plate which had 3 pieces of carrot, 3 pieces of potato, and a few fatty pieces of meat in a lot of gravy. It was like stew soup. It tasted fine but it wasn't enough food to feed a child. My friend got a tuna melt which was also really expensive and consisted of two tiny rolls. Really not worth the money and I definitely won't be going back.

So I have given this a five stars across the board based on the brunch we had, and the value, quality and service we experienced. We had brunch for two, lovely coffee, great pastry and pancakes. The food was very prompt and the service was fantastic. Given the location it's surprisingly not an arm and a leg cost wise. Decor is simple, no frills, but very clean and tidy. It's a great spot for a quick bite.

Had my lunch/brunch here today. OMG!!! Outside of America, I have never had such a divine brunch. I ordered the “freshly squeezed orange juice “, which in lots of places is from concentrate. What I got was orange juice that was freshly squeezed only AFTER I ordered it... the taste was exquisite. Then the pancakes were totally homemade... with maple syrup, the eggs were fabulous, and the streaky American bacon was crispy. It took me just 13 minutes to Hoover it up. 20/10 guys. You rock!!! It’s worth it to take the bus there and back, to just have that meal again.
I ate there last week with my mam and the food was so so tasty and I can’t compliment the server we had enough, he was a guy with a somewhat American accent and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and cared for. My mam is a bit of a Karen and loves to find a reason to complain and she just had amazing things to say too. The tastiest pancakes !

Been a loyal customer for years and I always get the metro special, but they no longer do it and I’d say the food and service have deteriorated. Pancakes, scrambled eggs not the same as before. No more honey butter and relish on the side. Totally not the Metro Cafe I knew. Inside seating too hot in summer. The thing is they already know it’s gonna be hot inside so they should have done something about it. You can make better food at home. Not recommended.

severely lacking menu, eggs n toast are daylight robbery served w literal packets of butter directly on top of the eggs. Breakfast buttie and pancakes are only thing worth buying here and are fairly priced. Inside is dark and grim with no ambiance and barely space to move. One of the lesser brunch options in dublin for sure overall. Does not deserve a place in the city centre.

Modern cafe situated near St Stephens green is literally unpassable. It has a superb brunch and lunch menu And the portions are enormous. The staff is very friendly and caters to your needs. I ordered chicken caesar salad and asked them to chop up the lettuce finely which came as I expected. It was extremely filling and the taste was absolutely delectable. I shall recommend any tourists and passers-by to try something here. Please be aware it is extremely busy most of the times. Bon Appetit !! ☺️☺️
Really nice spot for a quick bit of lunch. They have generous portions and the soup is always lovely. The staff are nice and give you good service. Well priced for Dublin city.

Really good spot for an all day breakfast. Our order for lost in the system so we had to wear a little longer than expected. They were very kind though and gave us free coffees to make up for any delay. I would definitely go back if I was on the lookout for a late breakfast. The breakfast buttie is sensational.

It was a rainy evening when i called. I had a glass of wine and a starter. I felt the starter was very small for the price. What i did notice, and what put me off, was that the little curtains around every sconce light were very dirty. They need to be taken off and washed !!!

Quaint little cafe, recommended to us by the local Guarda passing by. Not busy at all. Not very roomy. Good for onesies or twosies but probably not a big group. Food was delicious.

Great ambience with a genuine neighborhood feel even though it's right in the heart of tourist Dublin. Food was okay but good value. Great option to sit outside and people watch with outside heaters to keep you warm on brisk winter nights. But the inside also has a lot to offer with a warm welcoming ambience. For a tiny place, Metro Cafe does pack in a lot!
This place was so good we are telling everyone we know who is going into town to check it out. The food was good, the service was really good and the atmosphere was really really good.

I was here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. The meat looked like plastic, very dry and overdone. Customer service is quite rude the waitress came over and said we are closing, pay the bill. Also the place is really tight. I don't know how this place got 5 stars.

Lovely cafe with outdoor seating in the heart of Dublin. Close to Grafton street and St Stephen's Green. We had mixed olives as a starter, combo of soup (tomato bisque) and a vegan sandwich (veggies and hummus) , a vegan ragu with lentils, sweet potato and cous cous with curry and coconut milk, 2 coffees and sparkling water.
Lovely little cafe spot just minutes from Grafton Street but without the Grafton street fuss. Plenty of room, lovely breakfast options, quick service and excellent coffee. Highly recommended.

The time before this isn't worth mentioning because the pancakes tasted as though they were just heated up in the microwave. Disappointing. This time though, the pancakes with bacon were astounding! Hot so the butter melted, loads of Golden syrup available to use and the price was great for what I got! Simply delicious!
The food was decent for the price and the service was good. No one thing particularly stood out, but no complaints about any of it, either. It was a good value for a quick breakfast.

This place is not as great as it used to be - prices have risen a lot without a corresponding improvement in quality or portion sizes. I paid €11.50 for a breakfast buttie which is basically a sausage and rasher bun. The atmosphere and service are good so it’s a pity food is not better value for money.
Service was quick, food was excellent but it was a bit expensive compared to other places around.

I had a delicious breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes and pancakes. Only the eggs lacked a bit of seasoning for my taste but otherwise it was very tasty and well made and beautifully presented on the plate. I liked the cosy classic decor as well
Eggs came cold. Coffee wasn’t good. Sent back eggs and they took off the bill. Still cost over €30 for one scrambled eggs with two sides, two orange juices and a coffee.

Great value all day breakfast and always consistent. What I love most about this place is it doesn't try to be something it's not (instagramable poached eggs and avocado). It is straight to the point and exactly what it says on the tin. I'm
I live in Canada but am from Dublin. I always try and pop in here when I'm back. Was such a nice spot to eat with lovely food. 6 of us went out today and all 6 of us were left disappointed with our choices. Quality and quantity has gone out

Cracking little cafe in Dublin. Had breakfast here 2 mornings on our visit. Everything cooked fresh loved the eggs. We stayed at the Premier Inn around the corner far better breakfast here for the price. Highly recommend
Nice little cafe close to St. Stephen’s. First time went in for a quick coffee in the late evening and second time went in for dinner. Love the chill atmosphere and staff always very friendly. Love their house spiced wedges.
Had the creme mushroom soup and toast. The soup had too much salt and the toast was burnt. The waiter has some way to improve on service. Bottom line - don't order any food!

Enjoyed my first taste of Irish food here. Really enjoyed the the food, coffee, atmosphere & staff were friendly. I did however feel it was a bit expensive, but I came to understand that Dublin generally is.
Great little cafe where you can get a good breakfast, or sit with a coffee and read a book. Lovely staff and a great buzz to it, as it seems a popular place to go. Food was good. Would visit again. More
Absolutely gorgeous food. Perfect coffee. Beautiful café. Amazing atmosphere. Kind and considerate staff. 100% recommend if you’re willing to wait. Empty plates speak for themselves. More
The place is a bit snug and kept getting hit in the head by people trying to get through. The service was slow, but that's just because they were very busy. The food was really good.
Quality of food is quite terrible to be honest . The service however is outstanding
