A very nice cafe where you can apparently eat "the best Irish breakfast". Well we're not from Dublin so we had to try it. There was a very long queue waiting to be seated at 10:30am. We had to wait like 30 minutes to have a table outside. It was really sunny this morning so it was pretty nice but I think that it's inside of the cafe that you can live the full experience. I just went to pay and it was so lively and charming. The Irish breakfast was truly nice. We had an egg (sunny side up, my fav), sausages well grilled, baked beans (not too sugary. They were perfect for me), bacon, white and black pudding and bread. Everything was tasty, nicely cooked and I had a wonderful time. I was full for like 8 hours so it was more like a brunch than a breakfast for me, but I have quite a small appetite. My boyfriend wanted a cookie 4 hours after so I suppose it depends. The waiters were really nice, especially the one at the counter. The prices were quite okay I guess. 13€ for an Irish breakfast. It used to be less expensive but it was like 5 years ago so it's understandable. I recommend it!

We were wondering through the streets of Dublin looking for somewhere to eat breakfast. A man who was cleaning the streets asked if we were looking for breakfast and directed us to this place. It was a little hard to find at first, but once we were there we were greeted and placed in the gay corner. I had a coffee and an Irish breakfast my wife had the same but with Tea. When we had finished, the owner gave us some sites to visit and recommend some local taverns to visit. This place I'd definitely worth the visit if you are stuck for inspiration of where to visit while enjoying a friendly atmosphere while eating g some good traditional Irish food. I am looking forward to the next visit.

It’s a quaint little place for breakfast, although the service is not the best. It took a while to place our order, and we had to ask for utensils, refills, etc. Seating inside as well as sidewalk cafe style seating was available. We sat outside because there was a wait to sit inside. We had the cheese and bacon omelette, and the cheese and mushroom omelette. Both included buttered toast, and the omelettes were “OK” but a bit on the dry side (and cost €9.95) €7.95 should have been more like it. Green tea was €3.95. As I already stated, the service wasn’t the best, servers had to be flagged down often. At one point, one of the only two servers we ever saw, decided to take a smoke break on the patio right in front of us. I was trying to flag him down for our check, but it was madness trying to get his attention. I’d skip this place if I were you.

Amazing! Loved this place so much, we had just landed and had to deal with flight issues, car rental, and rebookong hotels while lugging all of our stuff around Dublin. Found this hole in the wall and instantly had our entire mood changed. Al was hilarious and gave amazing service. It felt like sitting in his family dinning room joking on a Sunday morning and you honestly can't get that anywhere. I would've loved to go back one more time before we left Ireland but time didn't allow it. Definitely will come back to see the west side and to visit this wonderful café.

Awesome breakfast spot open early. I was looking for a breakfast/coffee spot when I woke up early from travels and this place was open. Super friendly staff, awesome food and coffee. Had their Irish Breakfast and a cappuccino. When I was taking off the gentleman asked me what my plans were and I told him I just got in, he showed me a list of some good bars in the area and told me of some sporting events going on this weekend. Definately a great first experience for food and atmosphere with friendly people. Highly recommend this place and hope to return on my next trip to Dublin.

This is awful to say, and I’m not one to leave a bad review. But I am autistic, and the way I was talked to by a member of staff whilst looking for somewhere to eat was extremely upsetting. Despite being seats outside, I was told I would have to wait over an hour for a table and then was dismissed. I’d walked to this specific location, but I think it was because I was carrying a large bag they wouldn’t serve me. As someone with Autism, where routine and understanding is key. To be dismissed in such a way is really upsetting and I want this to be recognised by the cafe. You have to improve how you speak to people, even though it’s not obvious. People with neurodiverse conditions are sensitive to being dismissed without relevant explanation.

After a long six hour flight from America we spotted this gem and boy oh boy we hit the JACKPOT! the staff was amazing atmosphere was comfortable yet mesmerizing inside and out! We were welcomed with open arms and greeted by a lovely young lad who help recommend few places which was great not knowing where to begin!. Ultimately we sure did get the ultimate full Irish breakfast and couldn’t forget the baileys hot chocolate TO DIE FOR!!!! when we return we will definitely be goin back (home) “the stage door cafe” our ultimate favorite spot above all! Words can't even describe this cafe, the food was really tasty and really generous portions but the staff where incredible, it was constant entertainment, the tears where running down our faces from laughing so much, it was Irish banter at it's finest, I'll be back, they've got a lifelong customer and this is going to be our goto anytime we're in town. This spot and the staff are a prime example of why we need to support small independent businesses.

This place is a true meaning to Irish welcomes as the food was awesome, staff was beyond friendly and the drinks were great!! I came here by accident as I was looking for an early spot to eat since I was jet lagged and the owner was cooking inside, not even open at the time yet he saw me, invited me in and told me to have a seat and make myself at home. We talked for 4 hours about life, travel and family and his friends, customers and colleagues made me feel welcome and gave me travel tips on where else to visit. AWESOME EXPERIENCE, I CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK HERE. THANK YOU STAGE DOOR CAFE!!

I came on the second day of opening post covid closures so the menu was limited to Irish breakfast—I’m SO GLAD it was!! This was the best Irish breakfast I’ve ever had (granted I am Canadian); it was smoky, sweet, salty, and rich with charred bits on the meats. Even the toast was wonderful! In addition to the excellent food, the atmosphere was absolutely lovely. The owner is warm, welcoming, and kind. Since the place just opened, the owner is missing staff, so a restaurant owner from next door was helping him out in serving, even grabbing ingredients from his own restaurant when needed. Highly recommend!!!!!

So you want to experience a real Irish breakfast in Temple Bar and you don't have any idea of where to go. So that's the place. Small, cozy, often crowded, the Stage Door Café will welcome you and let you experience an excellent genuine Irish Breakfast. The place is not that big so you might have to wait for a table, but that's ok. Breakfast costs around 14€, coffee 4€. People are friendly and even when it's crowded (almost always) the service is fast. Don't miss it out.

We stumbled upon this place for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Hadn't really heard of it, and glad we did. There was no queue even though it was busy. We were lucky with a table. It was a hilarious experience. The chef was so funny...I can see why it's a popular place for everyone, especially tourists that like his dry humour. Food portion was massive and very tasty. I had the open blt ...must have had a packet of rashers for mine alone . It's a little pricey but what do you expect in dublin's temple bar. Would deffo return.

Loved this spot. Came here per a friend’s recommendation and we were glad we did. We came around 11:30am on a Sunday and we had to wait a little bit (the restaurant is quite cozy) but it wasn’t too bad. We each had an Irish breakfast, which you could see being made right in front of the open kitchen. Cash only. Indoor and outdoor dining available. The service was lovely - a bit snarky but all in good humor. I also liked how the food was cooked fresh to each order, so while there was a wait when there was a rush, the patience is worth it.

Despite popular belief to the contrary, I don’t ordinarily have booze for breakfast on Tuesdays, and I’m not usually one for clichéd touristy drinks, but when that Tuesday is Christmas Eve, and that touristy drink is an Irish coffee and it’s my first proper drink in Ireland and it’s like 3 degrees outside, who am I to judge? It’s worth noting that I actually ordered regular coffee, but when the guy said “do you mean Irish coffee?,” what was I supposed to say? I didn’t come here to be disrespectful. Come on. Also, that’s some of the best restaurant food I’ve had this whole trip.

What a hidden gem! A friend recommended this cafe for breakfast and it was amazing! The cafe is small, but cozy with little tables and seating areas. There is wood trim and stained glass, along with nicknacks that make you smile. The staff is very friendly and genuinely care about your well being. They'll chat you up and you'll have new friends by the time you walk out! The food was fantastic and plentiful. I highly recommend the full Irish breakfast. Treat yourself to an Irish coffee while you're at it! Enjoy!

"It was 7:30, and it was raining outside. I was waiting for a friend, so I sat on the outdoor chairs. The bartender told me I couldn't sit on the chair if I didn't order anything. I replied that I would only be there for 10 minutes until my friend arrived and then we would leave. He responded very aggressively that I couldn't sit on the chair if I didn't order from him. I've never had such an experience before. I understand if the restaurant was full, but I was the only one outside. I don't even want to imagine how they treat other customers."

So we missed breakfast at the hotel, one morning, and we’re looking for a place to have breakfast. We came across this place and, in all honesty, the breakfast was 100 times better than it was at the hotel. The guys working there were a real Hwy, and the food was outstanding. If you’re in the area, check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

I have nothing but the best things to say about the Stage Door. The food is excellent. I recommend the feta and olive omelette. It is on the edge of Temple Bar but manages to stay authentically exactly what it is. A great local cafe. Staff are always fun and make you feel like a regular. I wouldn't miss it while I am in Dublin.

This place was wonderful. My family and I traveled to Dublin from NJ and were looking for a place just like this. It’s small but very cute and cozy. You have to get there early, and you must try the Irish Coffee, there is plenty of toast with your meal. My teenage son was with us and he enjoyed it as well. The owner was very funny and made the experience twice as fun. Temple Bar is a short walk away, since we were there early in the AM we got some good pics.

The owner was funny and was very freindly. We loved the place so much we went back the next day and the owner remembered us. Place is small so get in early to grab a seat because you don't want to miss out on this breakfast. First day I tried the BLT and made it "sexy"(egg on top). Second day I tried the omlette with ham and mushrooms. He made my 3 year old the biggest hit chocolate with the big marshmallows in it amd my daughter loved it. My wife and I had the Irish coffee which was the best I had so far.

Feggin mighty spot. Very lovely staff, easy chats. If you didn’t see it you’d miss it and you’d miss the best brekkie in Dublin. Dunno what it is about it that’s so good but it works whatever it is. Just a simple small menu, nothing fancy. Just a good ol fashion fry up. And for Dublin a super cheap buy. A right show. Definitely be up to go back again when I’m around. Again nothing fancy. Just simple tastey just like your ma would make. Need nothing more.

Came here because of the so many great reviews. Don't get me wrong, I've had horrible experience in places with 5*reviews. Nevermind, the reviews do justice to this cozy coffee shop. The most lovely meal I’ve ever had! Food and coffee was lovely but it was the staff who really made it special. If you get the chance, sit at the bar! You’ll have the most wonderful conversation in your life. The most welcoming people I’ve ever met with some great stories and advice! Plus, they gave me a free apple. Overrated. Baileys hot chocolate was good. Omelette with cheese and mushrooms And another with Feta and Pesto were just about OK and overpriced for 10 euros a piece. Terrible part was the toast was burnt. Like Black. Were too tired and cold to send it back so just scraped off the bad parts, like at home, and went on with the job. From the looks of it, the Irish Breakfast would be VFM

Found this café on Google as it has good reviews so we went there for a breakfast. They were short staffed so the service was a little slow. Once we've placed the order, we didn't have to wait that long for our breakfast and the staff were really apologetic but it was no big deal. The breakfast was lovely so was the coffee and the atmosphere was great. Definitely worth a visit and would go back if I'm in Dublin again.

We were warmly greeted by a young server who showed us to a table and then we ordered immediately so was quickly and friendly service! Great place to sit either inside or out and you can people watch as locals and tourists pass through temple bar. Great little place.

After reading so many reviews, I decided that The Stage Door would be my first stop for my first meal in Ireland. I have to say the meal did not disappoint. It was hearty and delicious. We stumbled upon this place on accident and had the best time. The staff are hilarious, incredibly quick-witted, and so welcoming. The locals who dine there were charming and friendly as well. Rudeness and hostility from both guys working there. Wanted a drink, only politely asked if they did Decaf, bloke responded aggressively with "No Decaf, no fancy milks, if you want that go elsewhere". Other bloke chimed in, snorted at me and said "Have a whiskey boy, Jesus". Really nasty vibes. Would not recommend. Left immediately.

One of the more memorable part of our trip was to this little cafe. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the loveliest proprietor as if we were regulars. A quaint little place to go a coffee or breakfast before heading out for a day of activities. This was my first ever full Irish breakfast and it definitely set the bar high. The servers were very friendly and hospitable and it was one of the few places in the area that was serving breakfast.

Amazing service, fantastic food. Get the Irish breakfast and Irish Coffee. A perfect start to your day in Dublin. Alan gave us a list of pubs to go to after and sent us on our way with a full belly and a smile!

Visiting from America. The chef personally delivered our food, asked my girlfriend if she was a vegetarian and yelled at her when she said yes. Then said “that’s why you’re in the gay corner.” Food was amazing. 5 stars.

Didn't see the sign to wait outside, but the first barmaid didn't tell me hi or to wait outside and when we arrived in front of the cooking area one of the guy told us "sorry wait outside", pointing at the same time the outside. Not even a hi or anything. Left immediately.

Brilliant. The food was delicious, my parter said it was the best Irish breakfast he’s ever had, and my friend and I’s open brie and rocket sandwich was great. However I think I’d just go back to see the owner 10/10.

Pretty fantastic breakfast. We we're all very satisfied with both our meals and the excellent service. I had the Irish breakfast and it hit and spot, but also saw the Brie and bacon melt on someone else's table and it looked fantastic.

BEST Breakfast!!! The reviews were definitely accurate. We walked over to this little cafe and had fantastic meals. We ordered Bean on toast and a Brie, bacon and tomato open sandwich. So tasty!

  • Jen C

Nice atmosphere and good coffee. The food was good at first but a bit too salty the more we dug in. Would still recommend. Got a lollipop at checkout so I mean.. how could you not like that. :)

  • Ryan W

Great cafe! It’s a worthy place to start your day - an Irish breakfast, an Irish coffee, and a little humor from the chef himself. Fun atmosphere and just what you need on your trip to Dublin.

  • Velizar Kalinov

Definitely a place worth visiting. The irish breakfast was delicious. Due to Covid there was staff shortage, so the owner was serving - he was really kind and funny guy. 10/10 would recommend!
