After reading the policies regarding leaving flowers and decor, I called to make sure the policies were the same before I drove an hour. I was informed of the holidays and 14 days in which items can be left without being removed. I failed to ask for the employees name that I originally spoke to, I just took her word. I returned yesterday to gather the items and everything was gone (it had only been 10 days). I called and spoke to Yolanda, she informed me something totally different than the first woman I spoke to and she referred me to Ms. Glenda. After leaving a message for her I called back and spoke to C.Jones - she then informed me of the "correct" policies. In particular I was told by the first woman that the day of the dead was a 14 day period to leave decor - C. Jones stated that is incorrect, that it is only 3 days. I would have not drove an hour to leave decor for 3 days. I am very disheartened that these employees seems to not care, nor are they on the same page, all providing different information about this policy. Sadly items you leave within these 14 day time frames are not safe from being thrown away. Please beware before you spend your time and money for decor for your loved ones.
I was out at my moms site and Bertha(I think) drove up to ask if everything was good. She came at the right time because I was going to make a stop at the office to complain about the grounds being so dry and the fact that the water faucet that’s located in Freedom where my mom is, is broken. Well, she quickly explained that she will put in a work order, and when I told her that I also needed someone to come out to fix the small gate that’s covering my mom’s marking so that it won’t chip the granite and she said that she will put in a work order for that as well. Luckily Bailey drives by and she stopped him to let him know what my concerns were and Bailey did explain that the water faucet had a work order in and he also quickly fixed the gate around my mothers headstone. Bailey also took the old flowers and said that he would discard of them and he also said if I need anything else to always feel free to reach out. After 8 years of dealing with Laurel Land, it has always been some thing, but these 2 on Wednesday made me feel a tad bit better about choosing Laura Land for her final resting place. Kudos and keep up the good work.
Many years ago this was a nice cemetery. Not anymore... I remember attending my first funeral service here when I was in elementary school. My friend across the street, his Dad had passed away. That was back in 1967. My Dad is a WWII veteran. I told him, he and Mom could be buried together, for free at DFW National cemetery. He said, "No son, I want to be in the same cemetery as my Parents". I came to visit my Parents grave site today. It's sad to see the cemetery looking so run down. They mow the grass here, that's it. They never trim the trees back or rack up the dead fallen leaves. The benches are old, some are cracking, and most are unlevel, so its difficult to sit on them. In some areas the roads get full of potholes before they are repaired. The overgrown trees make shade so that the grass won't grow in many areas of this cemetery. Many grave markers are sunken down into the ground, others are covered with dirt, dead leaves and mud. Many names of those buried here are unreadable. In my opinion it's disrespectful to not take better care of the grave sites here.
On Monday October 6th my family and I visited our grandparents gravesite and had to uncover their marker which was completed underground at least 3 inches. We were helped by a young man name Blair who brought a shovel and helped bring the marker above ground so that dirt could be put underneath to raise it above ground and Jason came out also to help. He washed off the marker and was very kind even thought it was past time for him to leave for the day. In this time as we attempted to find their marker (Section 51) we also uncovered a number of markers half or completely covered with dirt. This should never be allowed to happen but most certainly not in a Perpetual Care cemetery with the funds set aside for caring for the grounds. Dignity should be ashamed if they are not providing the necessary staff to care properly for all burials. I am now attempting to reach Glenda Alford for assistance in making sure this never happens again not only to our family but to any others. Ms Stone Jesse H & Sally Ruth Bolin family
The graveside portion of the service was flawlessly executed and left our family with a solemn memory of my Mother-In-Law's "Celebration Day". The funeral service itself was far less than exceptional. To start, my Father-In-Law, "the widower" was not picked up by the car that he paid for and no solid explanation was provided as to "why". We were told that we would have 4 Audio / Video Assistants during the funeral and when I played a video that was left behind by the deceased, the volume was turned down and there was no one present to turn the volume up. Thankfully I was able to recover from this "glitch" in front of 100 plus attendees. The pitch was made to purchase a pre-paid funeral, just as my wise in-laws did and that is a terrific idea. I'll likely be doing that, but it won't be with Laurel Land. Providing 3 stars as 2.5 was not possible.
When I called Laurel Land regarding an ongoing issue with my parents gravesites she immediately tries to assist me. I explained to her the problem and that I had not only left numerous messages but had also gone in to the office and requested assistance in person with no results. She showed such compassion and understanding and right away went and made a marker with my father’s name as well as took time to take pictures and send them to me. She stopped what she was doing when I called and took the time to care about my situation and help. Her professionalism and compassion will never be forgotten. She showed me that it is not just a job and number but that she cared and I will forever remember that. Angie, Laurel Land needs more people like you! God Bless You!!
Today I spoke to Ms. Nita Walker and Ms.Angie Valdez. They both answered and directed me to solve the issues for our loved one that was laid to rest at Laurel Land. These two ladies went above and beyond what great customer service is. These two ladies are very professional at what they do for Laurel Lands customers. I recommend these ladies receive wage increases as well as customer appreciation 2 days off for what they bring to Laurel Land and their customers. They should be the face of excellence in customer service at Laurel Land. God Bless these ladles and what they do. I give them 10 stars as my rating.
Brian Nickerson (Funeral Director) and his team did an excellent job with the service. He made the process so easy for the family. He listened to us and helped us through the entire process. After the family meeting with Brian everything went very smoothly, just as he promised. His attention to detail was spot on. The day of the funeral he was very helpful and attentive making sure things were exactly what we wanted. Jason Sands (Family Service Counselor) did a great job meeting with the family on the cemetery plot. He explained things in detail and accompanied us to the plot for inspection and approval.
We met with Earl Anderson and he was delightful! Professional! Punctual and timely! He knows how to connect without being prying or overly sympathetic. I want to only work with Mr Anderson henceforth because the others I dealt with in 2021 were not timely, detailed oriented and lacked Earl’s delightful demeanor. And Miss Tammy Justus was a darling soul taking care of us. Laurel Land Dallas congratulations on your beautiful new main complex. One suggestion- could snider LIMITING the days when families can put out flowers. It takes away from the beauty of the memorial park. Thanks!
My father's funeral was held 09/20/23 Laurel Land staff was kind, courteous, and very attentive to our family needs. From the time we sat down to plan our father's funeral to the viewing, service, and burial everything was beautifully planned and followed through. Funeral director and his staff was awesome to work with, we can't thank them enough for being there for us every step of the way. We thank God for putting gracious loving people like you all in our lives. Thank you Laurel Land for the beautiful experience. We love you all. ♥️ The Harris Family ♥️
Ms.Latonya Jones was great! She was very informative about all the headstones. I wanted the larger headstone to cover the two plots, my mother and my sister. She explained the different sizes and styles. We decided on 56x14 with 8 pictures and 6 words. It was perfect. She was very patient and made me feel very comfortable. She made me feel like I was one of her friends or family members. God Bless her! She will be the first person I call anytime I need assistance with anything concerning the death of love one. She will be a friend for life and death

The cemetery representative, Mr. Earl Anderson, was extremely courteous and professional. Having recently experienced a similar loss, he was very compassionate and understanding. In addition to pre-need services for the actual funeral, my mother had also secured her burial plot and paid her opening/closing costs, so our experience overall, was relatively simple.
This company and workers are soo obscured.. I’ve watched them “clean” they pick and choose what they want to leave on people’s graves and not how it should be, that’s not right!! They tell you what is okay to have but they throw it away either way. They even throw away your loved ones memorial stone plaques & crosses… NO RESPECT!!! Shame on y’all
My visit to Laurel Land and with Mr Earl Anderson was a very pleasant experience. Mr Anderson was caring and very knowledgeable pertaining to the reason for my visit to the facility. All of my questions were answered and concerns addressed to my satisfaction....and I am very pleased and thankful that I chose Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Ms. Tammie Justus did a great job today with her great customer service! Very patient with my mother and I while we got a few things sorted out. Had a good conversation and felt like she truly wanted to help us and wasn’t just doing it just because it’s her job. Keep up the great work with that great customer service Tammie!
My family and I are very grateful for all the attention that wad given to us helping us prepare and lay your father to rest. They were treated like if we're family. My dad look amazing we will cherish that moment. Would especially like you give a big thank you to Latisha Smith, Arthur Mitchell and Jason Sands.
We had a prepaid plan. Since a new company owns this facility I guess things have changed. We felt rushed the day of the service. It took three times to make my moms hair similar to the pictures. It definitely was not the experience we had hoped for. I would go to a privately owned funeral home in the future!
Jason Sands did an outstanding job with our family. He had so much patience with us. He explained everything specifically to us. He is an amazing and so supportive to us. The timing was perfect. He took care of us. Your company should be proud to have a young man working for you in this capacity.
I contacted Laurel Land Funeral Home through their website asking for a copy of a receipt for cemetery services that had been paid in full. Ms. Sandra Ford responded to me with the needed information within 24 hours. I appreciate the level of customer service that was rendered in my time of need.
I have to say that Jason did a phenomenal job helping our family put our dear sister to rest. He was very professional, courteous and you can tell by his responsiveness and attention to finite details. Everything was fully explained and understood. Truly a blessing.. OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!!
Mr. Earl Anderson was a very kind and compassionate representative at Lorrell land. My father is in a beautiful place, and we had no unexpected concerns or challenges when we entrusted my father to the Lorrell land cemetery. Thank you Laurel Land Funeral Home being a blessing to my family.
I recently went to a viewing and visitation for a friend’s mom at Laurel Land. The service was nice and Yolanda Ortiz the receptionist deserves recognition for being especially sweet, and patient. She helped me find where to go and was very warm and helpful during a stressful time.
I just left Laurel Land Funeral making arrangements for my daughter. Our Counselor Jason Sands made this entire experience one of the most memorable. He was professional, funny, so dedicated to any every need and question to the family. I would suggest Jason Sands.
Jason Sands was very helpful and made sure I was knowledgeable of the things I would need to plan my mothers funeral. He was attentive to every need and made sure all of my expectations were made. Laurel Land exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back.
My loved one passed away 8 years ago and we haven’t been able to purchase a headstone. I called to get a temporary marker so we could always find him. Angie and Edwin did an amazing job in making it happen in less than 24hrs. Thank you so much Angie and Edwin
Arthur and Bertha were wonderful! After having a bad experience with another funeral home we came here and I couldn’t be more pleased. Very professional and caring. The service from them was impeccable. They gave peace to a heartbreaking time for our family.
Mr. Jason Sands was very helpful. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He took time explaining all my questions and made sure i understood the difference between all of the plots they offer. Mr. Jason is a valuable person to the community and company.
Jason Sands was extremely exceptional from the beginning through the end of the process. High professional standards and empathy was displayed. Laurel Land funeral Home should be very proud to have Jason Sands as a representative of your Organization.
Jason Sands was our Family Service Counselor. He was amazing and his positive energy and humor was needed to ease an otherwise overwhelming time of dealing with the passing of our love one. Jason is top notch. The facility is absolutely gorgeous.
George Lewis, thank you so much for all your help with my grandmother’s funeral. I just want to tell you on behalf of our family that we really appreciated your kind and thoroughly competent care of our family and our grandmother’s funeral
Nick and Bertha were wonderful to work with. My parents gravesites were difficult to find as I hadn’t been to the site in several years. Bertha turned on her detective skills and found the location of my parents. Nick went through the time
Losing a grandmother is one of the most difficult experiences I've ever had to face. There is no way I could have faced this dark hour without the diligence, grace and direction of Mr. Arthur Mitchel. From the advent of my dear grandmother
Aside from Fernando (who isn’t even a manager) nobody here cares about you after you’ve paid. Especially not “general manager” Nicole. She just tells you what you want to hear but does not act on it. And they know they’re messing up when
I'm so glad my family chose Laurel Land to lay my grandmother to rest! Jason was phenomenal and very patient with us. The process was smooth and Jason made us very comfortable. Thanks for all you've done Jason and The Laurel Land family.
I had a disastrous beginning of my experience at Laurel Land. I had to call a ridiculous amount of times, kept getting the run around, and had to show up in person to get anyone to talk to me. I was bringing back my fathers remains from
Thank You -- Laurel Land - Dallas! The July 15, 2023 services for Mrs. Barbara Anderson were simply Impeccable at every stage (planning to repast)!! High kudos to the professionalism of the funeral director (Mr. Mitchell) and his
