Out of all the hospitals ive given birth in this is the best. I came in with contractions ,upon arrival i did not get much attention honestly but was eventually put in a wheel chair and taken in . I got my own room and my husband was there with me the whole time. The practicing nurses or doctors were so nice !! The real doctor was very nice as well. I was scared of getting an epidural but ended up getting it as i was told first they numb you and then they pinch you with the bigger needle . It was the best decision i took. After the epidural i was able to sleep through the contractions while not being completely numb from my legs but numb enough in the tummy area. I was able to feel some of the contractions coming in. They put medicine to speed the contraction process up so within maybe 2-3 hours i was at 10 cm and was able to push the baby out asap 20 min later because there was no pain while pushing her out like in my other pregnancies when i didnt get the epidural. I was happy holding my baby and it was an amazing experience. Then they have a cafeteria menu that gives you nice food kind of like a restaurant i really like it!! And prices are affordable $9-10 a plate for my husband drink included . When i got passed down to the other floor i got my own room too and was able to be with my baby and husband. 96 percent of staff is nice and understanding but some nurses are not!!! I asked my night shift nurse for water and she just said she was bussy... Some are not very professional.
I went to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital emergency room at 11:00 p.m. the intake staffwa friendly I was there for six and a half hours had a bunch of blood work done was already tested for the covid 48 hours before I went to the hospital. I was told by the intake nurse to let them know in the back when I got put into the room that I did not need to have another covid test because it hadn't even been 48 hours since my last one. The nurses insisted on doing another covid test only because they wanted to charge me for it. Of course the test came back negative. I was in the emergency room for 6 and 1/2 hours and not one time did I see or speak with the doctor I did not get an examination from a doctor and when I was discharged I was given one prescription for an antibiotic I was diagnosed with severe bronchitis. I was giving nothing to help me with breathing I was giving nothing to help me with pain nothing for coughing just one prescription for an antibiotic given to me by a nurse. I think Hermann Memorial Southwest emergency room hospital is one of the worst and unprofessional hospitals in Houston Texas. I will not pay any bills that they send me. I do not recommend anyone going to that hospital. I am very very unhappy with the care that I was given
Know your rights as a patient!!!! My uncle was told that my aunt could not go to an inpatient rehab facility and had to go to a nursing home because she “didn’t meet criteria.” Whose criteria?? I used to work at an inpatient rehab so I know who can go there and who can’t. I know It’s not her Medicare saying she “doesn’t meet criteria” because we called her Medicare and they says she does have the criteria. We called her personal doctor to get an order because the worthless PAID doctors at Southwest will just do whatever they are told to do by the evil people that runs that hospital. AND Come to find out this hospital system tries everything they can to not send patients to certain places supposedly to “save Medicare dollars” but it’s a SCAM. They just want a bonus!! Yes a bonus!!! Look it up it’s called an ACO. Look it up!!!. If you ever have the situation where you are told that you can’t go to a facility of choice call and report it to Medicare!! These people are beyond ridiculous!! Thank God I was able to help my uncle and aunt and she was able to admit to an inpatient rehab hospital and not a nursing home where she would just rot.
Arrived in ER exactly 7 days ago Horrible cough, sore throat; too painful to swallow , low grade fever and feeling like I wanted to collapse. I dealt with a physician assistant Ms.Ledoy and although friendly, she didn't seem focused. Kept saying she is from Florida and she was cold. If she had paid careful attention instead of whining, she would have checked my throat and ears to discover I had a sinus and ear infection and only needed antibiotics. Instead she wrote a med for a cough suppressant and when asked about all my symptoms, she said there are many viruses out there and walked out. Overall, not a good experience and when I called staff for a blanket and to cover me, she seemed annoyed. This place has consistently gone down in care and compassion. Despite it is blocks from my residence, I would rather go elsewhere.
I never write reviews but I must find MIA!!! One of the best nurses I have ever encountered my entire 20 years of existence. I’m not having no more kids if I don’t get the same treatment as she gave me along with the other nurses. I’ve looked for her everywhere I just wanna say thank you!! You made my birth experience so much better. You encouraged me and pushed me to the end. Baby boy and I are so grateful! Brianna and Dina were also angels to baby and I. Unfortunately that’s all the names I can remember but I’m truly grateful for all but especially Mia!! Hoping you all read this some day(:
This is the WORSE hospital ever!! My grandma had a bad fall. Took her to the ER. Waited 10 hrs. Just for them to give back brace and pain medication. 5 days later she is still in a lot of pain. Went to Methodist Hospital and oh my.. they said it was worse than we thought. She is staying here and being well taken care of. Stay away from memorial at all cost. They don't care about the patients and are SLOW and careless and horrible evaluation.
I have never seen such bad medical ethics being a doctor myself . The nurses are rude and unprofessional . My father was bleeding (bleeded four times in 2 hours ) but they didn't have a room to check him and were waiting for him to be hypotensive to be considered an emergency. The ER place is dirty and they don't know what triage means. The nurse didn’t even give us an estimated time when my father could be seen. Disappointe.
Came here in 2020 on emergency labor complications and they got me in and did great by me and my baby! it's 2023 now and will love to come to this same hospital for my newborn ,clean, food is GREAT, respectful , and made me feel comfortable! thank you all for my doctors and nurses i appreciate you. Will be scheduling delivery there even if i have to drive a distance
I recently went here kinda scared because of all the bad reviews it has but I decided to still go anyways since I was feeling awful. To my surprise this hospital is super fast. They took good care of me they were polite and caring. Always made sure I was doing well. All the staff here are so helpful.. I recommend.
In my opinion it is a good place. I had my daughter there and they treated me very well, always attentive, they took very good care of my daughter who was in the NICU, they always explained everything to me and they were all very professional and very nice. May God bless you always. ❤️
If your child is in NCIU stay with them all the time. Children are left to cry medicine is administered hours late and then they lie about it. There was one period over 20 minutes with not 1 single person in the ENTIRE UNIT. They will lie to your face about procedures.
I had my baby there recently and my experience was great Devann from labor and delivery was great very professional, caring, compassionate and respectful she made me feel like I was part of her family I felt the love and care she's the best
This hospital is unbelievable my mom had been here a month and was life flighted from the other horrible memorial Herman greater heights she was put in a deep sedation and life support she has or had keto acidosis, ecoli in her blood, she
My granddaughter was taken here twice by ambulance (she was one month old) and she was dismissed twice. Dr.Ian Smith dismissed what her mom was telling him. She was having trouble digesting her milk no matter how many times she was burped
Initially, I came in with potential contractions. They got me in right away and staff was friendly. Hospital was very dirty compared to others. There was a lady next to us in the triage room who had covid symptoms. The staff did not take
I had to be transferred to MHSouthwest from the Sugarland location. I heard so many negative comments about the Southwest location I didn't want to go there. However, I had the best nurse I have ever had anywhere. His name was Rodolfo
I just had my baby here a week ago and most of the staff was rude. When they came to draw blood from me they kept sticking me and sticking me until I screamed in discomfort.. the pain was so bad I had marks all over my arms from them
Worst Hospital of the ENTIRE CITY OF HOUSTON…Daughter was in major car accident and we literally had to wait on meds for her for at least 5 hours!!! Staff definitely are the worst along with the actual doctors they hired off the
This hospital is so f’n rude from The doctors down to there nurses not helpful at all doctor literally walked off and rolled her eyes in the middle of us trying to explain to her what was
I do not advise anyone to go there. Everything in this hospital is very bad. The doctor is rude and speaks in a bad way. Only the nurses treat them well.
