"Not my kinda mall"
I visited this so called mall on a Saturday. It's more an open mall with the layout of shops on either side , in between was an array of hawkers displaying their goods for sale. From fresh produce , to fruit and veg, to clothing, groceries there were even two stalls selling delicious indian snacks freshly prepared. The shops along the mall had everything from groceries, a bakery , spice shops, even a fishing shop. Well worth the visit to top up on fresh produce direct from the farms, or even having an Indian snack or two. Extremely neat and organised parking is OK but limited. Prices are reasonable there are no expensive branded houses or big brand named stores .lack of AtMs and eateries. No toilets was spotted. Basically a through mall walk through get what you desire and leave
On Fridays and Saturdays you can avail yourself to the freshest produce of fruit and vegetables att cheapest Rock bottom prices. Every vegetable you bound to get. Furthermore you will find Indian homemade savouries freshly made at this place. The taste is fantastic as it is made virtually before your eyes. Vendors set up as early as 4am so that you enjoy this unique experience. This is a support local business venture. They also have vendors selling home made Pickles and live chicken and so many other things. Definitely worth the visit for your purchase of fruit and vegetables as the the produce is directly from the garden.
I keep forgetting this is its new name. It's typically known as 'Natraj' by locals. It's a cool place to go for cheap, fresh produce. It's more of a market place with stalls and shops than a mall, really. There are Indian and Chinese clothing stores, a pharmacy, spice shops, and restaurants. Check out the tiny restaurant at the back of the place, next to Shoprite. It's run by an Indian Lady, and she sells amaaaaazing bunny chows. You cannot visit Durban and not have a proper bunny chow. There are also Pakistani salons where you can get threading and basic haircuts done. Again, services are cheap, but good.
Lots of cheap shopping and everything you need can be found. Parking isn't the best, and you get harassed by hawkers and beggars. Also not the cleanest place. But the savings and variety are worth it. They also have medical facilities, optometrists, doctors, and clinics. And takeaways that stay open till late. The Merebank Library is nearby, although their books aren't the most current. Finally the Merebank swimming pool is located here, and it is relatively well-maintained and clean to public use. You can do your month's shopping there save quite a bit.
Not my kinda mall... The only pleasant store was Goras Meat Market... Clean and the owner made the experience just amazing by his interaction with us, xplaining his products and his telling us of the delivery service all the way to Chatsworth, Kharwastan which to me is what sold me on going back or even ordering from them for our next buy.... Good job,, keep up the good work.... Get better than your best and you will prosper for life inshaAllah...
The upgrade really did it wonders but it is still somewhat untidy and the premises not maintained. Parking is an issue, service and quality from the shops is to a high standard as most are run personally by the owners. You are able to get all your necessities but I would not call this a mall as there are multiple informal traders running their businesses in the courtyards.
It has an old school feel to it. It specializes in every thing Indian and more. Organic vegetables are readily available. There's everything you would need here, from clothing, sari blouse etc stitching, grocery stores etc. Love this place. People come from far and wide, especially for the organic vegetables. The prices here are second to none.
There are various shops there, where u can buy fresh cakes, clothes, savouries, meat, make-up, vegetables and so much more.. the bakery gets a special vote from me, their buns are super fresh and cakes are so tasty.. those blueberry muffins are fabulous.. we will definitely drive there for them. Time is always well spent at the Merebank Mall..
Lovely local mall. Caters for all our needs, including plenty takeaways. Organic, fresh fruit and vegetables at low prices. Supports local vendors and allows us to shop at leisure for low priced goods. Wide selection of amazing fireworks too. Wish there was better parking and more professional car guards, not drunk, rude, abusive ones!
My visit was to get sweetmeats at the Maharajs prayer shop.. i also bought a few incence .. which is my obsession.. wide range of incense at reasonable prices .. All prayer goods can be bought here .. Ended my trip at the Samoosa Uncle .. He is such a friendly Uncle .. ND I got 13 samoosas for R20 .. wow a bargain
Natis, natraj, the Raj, so many names to describe this bustling melting pot of stores, retail outlets, eateries and fresh produce stalls. Intertwined with spices and grocery stores. Bakery and butchery and a wellness center. Doctors and pharmacy. Hardware store and petrol station. Spoilt for choice
Whilst you can find some good deals and a variety of options, the parking is always congested and the area is untidy. There are some good shops but limited options as well. The butchery, bakery, green grocer and superettes are about the best that this place has to offer.
You can buy almost anything at this centre. Variety of stores including supermarkets, butcher, bakery, spice, hardware, barber and many others. Doctors dentist and optometrist. Service station and fast food outlets. Parking is a little difficult during peak hours.
My family and I have been shopping there for years...well worth the trip ...lots of bargains and you must try samoosa's from Dada's ...it's just awesome...the whole experience just reminds me of my childhood days and now I get to share it with my kids...
Brilliant for your everyday necessities. I love shopping here.. Unfortunately it is extremely filthy, chickens running around aimlessly, and it is not safe. Hijackings and roberries are rife. Always be attentive when visiting the centre.
Merebank Mall environment is very unhyginic bad rotten food smelling. Not very welcoming. Car Guards need modified vehicles thieft too many . Area is not upmarket . Trucks parking all over the show. Informal trading area very untidy .
Through the hussle and bussle of ur one stop shop, with friendly faces and all you need in one area, makes this an ideal place to shop. Although there are times that one would avoid as it’s very busy and difficult to move about.
If you are into fresh market finds then this would be the place to shop especially for religious reasons (Hindu and Muslim). Love the bread from the bakery and burgers at Goras. Also an opportunity to support small businesses.
Quite nice, its a fairly small place but has almost everything one needs, including a doctor and very efficient pharmacy. Parking is quite an issue though, the parking lot is one way traffic and is usually quite packed.
Merebank mall has amazing deals, friendly, safe environment n people, parking assistant's excellent . Very helpful people, smiles every where awesome value for ur money. I personally enjoyed my shopping experience there .
They busy with renovations mall has improved at that back it is still dirty but it seems safe to walk around. It is a highly recommended place by the locals that stay in the area. Its a very busy place to visit
Very bad service. They sell an inferior product. I am having lots of problems with my new DMAX LS double cab. Quality of vehicle is very bad. Fuel consumption very bad. Almost 11 liters per 100km for a 1.9
The place is convenient for the people around the area even those passing through, they is a mini market behind the mall, check save supermarkets, KFC, BP garage,Taxis rank its a busy place too.
Beautiful fruit and veg; Reasonably priced; Short walking distances for those with physical handicaps; wheelchair friendly. A good shopping experience amongst friendly traders and retailers.
Good place to shop. Very busy environment. Has a vegetable market, various shops, bakery, butcher shop, garage and a hotel nextdoor. And a library and swimming pool as well. Go there often.
Great bakery, prayer goods, vegetable stalls with very competitive prices. Parking is an issue though when busy on a Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Nice indian street snack stalls.
Lots of different shops for every need. Decent prices but not very hygienic. Can also be quite dangerous some parts of the day and there's lots of beggars at every corner.
Lots of good stalls .Mr Raj has the best tastiest savouries in durban. He is at the outside market Ethekwini can use our ratepayers money to grant them better stalls
I enjoy shopping there.especially on Fri n Sat.get lovely fresh fried savouries.the samoosas are lovely from the little gazebo behind moonlight.they are always busy
Spice is the variety of life, from friendly bakery, to special butchery, to pharmacies, clinic,, to the special dentist and doctors..well you have it all
We love this Mall as we find lots of bargains and save cash, as we support our local vendors and shops. We have cut our normal groceries bill in half!!!
Cheapest place to do shopping. U find everything u need meat, vegetables, grocery etc. On taxi n bus route . Walking distance from Wentworth. Also safe.
Everything you need you can find it there....pool, taxi rank, food shops, clothing shop, internet cafe, jewellery shop, schools as many more things
Shopping is fine one problem only the fake car guards are. Irritating they want to show. Me how. To drive forward. As usual it is. Tje. Blacks
It's not the place you would go on a full bladder, there are no toilets for the public n not clean, lots of beggar's but it's prices are low.
Merebank Mall was buzzing and a variety of fresh vegetables were available. The chemist was most helpful with recommendations for my problem
It's like stepping into a mini bazaar type of environment. A lot of variety of goods on sale at the stores. Prices are cheap and affordable
Could be developed better. Things are cheap in the market. Needs better parking spaces. Area needs to be cleaned up and maintained better.
Brings back childhood memories. A real old school bargain market. Lot's of wonderful people with great products at affordable prices
Very busy and crowded. Very good variety of shops. Plenty of vendors. However should be cleaned more often especially over weekends.
It's a cosy mall happy that I could do a last minute camping trip shopping ☺️ the people are friendly ,kind, …
Good small mall and if you wanna buy fresh cheap veggies its a good place, small variety but of walker traders
You can get fresh produce at reasonable prices. It is very busy and hard to find parking during peak hours.
Too many beggars here, asking for money on each corner you turn too. Not a good place to do shop with kids.
A very good place to shop with good variety and excellent prices. Lots of very good vegetables and fruit.
Nice place for groceries but good lord the car guards. They all around. So annoying and always pestering
Quick easy convenient with all types of goods wide variety url diffinately find what ur looking for
Security guys stand in one place together, they don't patrol the area, it doesn't look good at all
Good atmosphere, lots of fruit and veg stores ,with plenty of parking and a wide variety of items
Affordable prices, convenient, all needs are are met, array of vendors and shops to choose from.
If you require anything and not only friendly faces dont hesitate to experience quality service
You sure to find everything at merebank mall but it's could be a little cleaner (most shops)
It's not a mall it's very dirty needs to be cleaned wit a power hose It's a shopping center
One stop shopping experience. Everything you need is in one place. I love shopping here!!!!
It's convenient, because you can purchase all your household groceries meat and vege there.
Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables items can be found here also Samoosas, Chilli bites ect.
Just popped in, lot has changed, hopefully it will get better with more stalls like before
The prices at most shops are good. One negative is the amount of beggars at every corner.
Very good variety of products. Easy access and lots of parking. Prices are very good.
It's a cool place small and not so busy thou some good shops are missing …
Not Really a Mall, but you can get whatever you need from this district.
