This only reflects to the pharmacy section of RiteAid in Tierrasanta. Continued poor customer service, which is why we quit shopping there years ago. Nothing has changed. But gas $$ are up, so convenience took over. Made an appointment for a Covid booster on the Rite-Aid website, no problem except there is no way to add a spouse. My experience at our regular pharmacy was that they fit you in, no problem. So here we go. Showed up for my vaccination appointment 12 minutes early. No line, talked to the lady behind the counter. "I have an appointment for my Covid booster, but my wife needs one too." The lady said they were booked up every 10 minutes and were too busy to add my wife. "Can she be seen as a walkin?". No, we are too busy for walkins (their web site says they take walkins). The tone was we just don't want to. So we sat down in the waiting area, 10 min early, just as a woman cleared the vaccination booth. 10 minutes go by, nothing. No one else is waiting in the area for vaccinations. 8 minutes after my appointment time, I was called in for my vaccination. I made another inquiry about my wife. No, sorry we are too busy. Got my vaccination, took all of 1 minute. Sat down in the waiting area again for 10 minutes as requested to make sure there was not an allergic reaction. 10 minutes are up, and no one else is waiting or has been seen. I was the only vaccination customer in 30 minutes! It seems unlikely that there were two no-shows, one before and one after my appointment. If they don't want to do vaccinations, they should not advertise them. Total customer disservice! It is back to CVS for us. One star is being kind.
Came here with my friend who recently had surgery. Friend couldn't talk so I was there to help. Gave them her insurance but they weren't able to find it. They said they'd call and after about five minutes saw there was a line behind us and said they couldn't reach the insurance and hung up. We asked if they could call CVS because they have her other insurance info. They said they could but there was a line so they weren't going to. Drove back home to get the other card and came back. Still didn't work. Eventually my friend had to pay out of pocket because they clearly didn't have the time to help her while she stood there with a mouth full of guaze. Guess we will be going the extra distance to go to CVS from now on. At least they care about their customers.
I am sorry that we cannot put a zero star. I used their application to make an appointment for a 2 Covid Booster at 12:20 on Saturday. It’s good I took a screen shot of the appointment. I closed my shop half an hour earlier than my official time to make it in time for the appointment. Was there at 12:10, they had not a single person waiting. And the woman in the pharmacy told me: sorry I cannot find your appointment and I have someone else at 12:20. I can understand that you can have glitches with softwares, but at least, and she had no one waiting, she has the possibility to perform my vaccine then, or ask me to wait to see if the other personne we’re going to show. Very bad, awful, disgusting customer service
Worst pharmacy ever! 2nd time in 2 months where they did not have my RX ready and did not have the courtesy to call me to say they can't fill it. When I called to check on my RX today, the pharmacist told me "I found it, it'll be ready in 30 mins". This is 6 hours after the Endodontist sent the RX request in. So I show up, an hour later (it’s after 8pm, pharmacy closes at 9pm) and they don't have the RX inventory. Why didn’t they call me or the Doctor when they got the RX and could not fill it? I could have gone elsewhere to get my antibiotic. Such a waste of time. And horrible customer service!
The staff in this store are very friendly, though I didn't have the best experience with receiving my vaccinations here. The technicians administering were not as friendly, and seemed a bit annoyed that I was even there in the first place. Regardless, everybody else is friendly and very kind. Misty especially- I've only been in twice but both times she greeted me with a smile and made great small talk. I felt like a regular, honestly. I may not make it down in this direction again, but if I do, and I need anything, I may stop in. Good experience thanks to the staff team!
The store itself is fine, and the checkers are fine too. What isn’t fine is the pharmacy. Even my doctor has stated this group is really difficult to work with and somewhat incompetent. Month after month, they seem to screw up simple refills. I mean, is it that hard? Their customer service is subpar, and the technicians who spat at you for calling them on the carpet doesn’t make it easy. As a result, we have moved all prescriptions out of their store even though the convenience is there. Too bad as we like to support local, but Costco wins this one instead.
The Pharmacy staff is routinely unfriendly and borderline rude. Nearly every-time I fill a prescription here there is some kind of issue. When dealing with the Pharmacy plan to spend at least twice as long as you would otherwise expect. Outside of the Pharmacy the store associates are friendly and usually helpful. The store itself feels unclean and run down.
The RiteAid in Tierrasanta is the filthiest store I have ever seen. Broken refrigeration vents, dirty ceiling filters, dirty shelves with spilled nail polish etc.. It is the worst RiteAid I have ever seen. Even the way they have the checkout with one line for 2 cashiers. It's horribly unorganized and uncare for. No one seems to care about the filth.
Both front store employees who assisted me by answering questions, as well as the incredible kindness and professionalism of the pharmacist and pharmacy tech, made today a good example of people stepping up during this difficult time on the planet. Thank you for your care and giving me the vaccine. Great work!
Pharmacy will not refill subscriptions on time due to "issues with system". More than often they say its filled and it's not. This time, 3 days without meds and still no refill. Dr has called them, corporate called them, still no refill. Pharmacy called me today after corporate was called but still NO REFILL.
My friend and I got our pfizer Covid-19 booster shots even though they were extremely but they managed to take us in. We got our shots and were able to travel abroad. Thank you so much. We highly recommend them. Pharmacy was friendly and easily approachable. They also asked if we needed any other vaccines.
Kind and caring staff. Pharmacy, katreen is very sweet ,professional, and knows her job well. She can answer questions and is very quick on her feet. I like getting her to wait in me. Everyone is covid conscious, but you can see some who actually smile and are glad to help. Thank you.
I "Rickey Groover" just not too long ago began to feel that this was a decently splendid enviornment to have been employed in though I found I made reckless errors every now and then back in 2007 when I wasn't interested in California but now I miss it.
Worst pharmacy ever. They don’t take walk ins for Flu shot, so I made an appointment and showed up early to check in. Waited 10 minutes past my time slot and nothing, so I left. Go elsewhere if you want to actually be treated like a paying customer.

I've been coming to this pharmacy for 9 years but within the last year or so I have seen a decline in the customer service that is provided to me. Today being the most recent occurrence and it is the final straw. I will not be coming back here.
VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE. THE EMPLOYEES GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP YOU FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. ITS GETTING HARD FOR ME TO READ LABELS AND SO WHE AN ASSOCIATE COMES BY THEY READ LABELS FOR TO HELPM FIND WHAT I NEED.
Went there today and was greeted by a very nice woman. Store is very clean and the staff is respectful to it's customers.... Companies could learn a lot from this rite aid on customer service.
The sales associates were rude as hell.We waited at the cashier table for assistance and we weren’t helped at all! Just IGNORED. If you don’t like your job just quit it and be unemployed.
It is absolutely FRUSTRATING to have their phone on FAX mode more often then not...when you're trying/needing to reach the pharmacy. Ridiculous. Cmon Rite Aid TURN ON YOUR PHONE
