UPDATE: 2 months late I still haven't heard back from corporate. I’ve never wrote to corporate, so might as well post my letter about my experience. Hello Rite Aid, I’ve never contacted corporate before but felt this was a terrible enough experience to now. I grew up with my neighborhood Rite Aid on Governor (previously Thrifty) and it definitely came a long way to how I was treated today trying to get a covid booster. I stopped in a few weeks prior to pick up medication and asked the pharmacist what was the best way to get a booster and was assured I could walk in with no issues since I was also waiting for a PCR test to come back negative. Today I walked in at 9:45am, there was only one man in line and I saw signs saying walk-ins only accepted between 12-5. Which are very difficult hours for people who work jobs they can’t leave from, not really kind to those who aren’t yoga moms and are socioeconomically disadvantaged. I decided to wait in line and ask since I'm a high risk patient, work multiple jobs and very overdue after being exposed and waited for PCR results. I (unfortunately) heard the gentleman in front of me say he had an appointment at 3:30 but wanted to get in early and they send him over to fill out paperwork. I thought great I have a chance before heading to work, the pharmacy doesn't appear busy and I didn't mind a wait before work. They called me up and was told immediately told walk-ins were only between 12-5 as the pharmacist turns away. This lady was clearly fed up with the whole experience, I can only imagine but still not a friendly or very helpful reply. I decide to ask one more time at the window the man who basically became a walk-in went to. That lady seemed more sympathetic, but also said no, while she accepts his papers. I mentioned I work multiple jobs all in various times, I’m extremely high risk, long overdue and those walk-in times are very hard to make let alone stick to an actual appointment. But she shrugs it off like there was nothing that can be done while no one else has walked into the pharmacy in the past 15 minutes. It's not that they couldn’t, it's truly that they wouldn't bend the rules for just me, which made this experience so frustrating. This isn't like trying to order from the breakfast menu 20 minutes after 10am, this is a potentially lifesaving vaccine that they're deciding who might get it whenever they'd like. I don't wish to put a bigger strain on the medical system, one reason it’s hard to make an appointment because I would possibly miss it I also know there is a lot going on behind the scenes in a pharmacy, but during these times it's nice to know your neighborhood is looking out for you and have some understanding. I will never return to this Rite Aid except to return recent purchases, which is quite depressing to think this is one of few stores I’ve been coming to for 40 years.
My mother made a pickup order, but never got a confirmation email that the order was ready for pickup. She called them ~90 minutes after the order was placed, and they said it would be ready. By the time I showed up, it was 2 hours after the order was placed. They never had collected the items, and only started to do so once I was there. Even when realizing they made an error, the manager couldn't be bothered to show a sense of urgency. She even made light of the mistake towards the employee who got 'distracted' from collecting the order. When my mother called them again, frustrated, the manager could only offer a defensive apology. Oh, and when they finally gave me the pickup, I only discovered once I left the store that an item was missing. Oh, and they charged us twice for a bag fee, even though there was only 1 bag. Normally I couldn't be bothered by poor customer service as it happens (I myself have worked in retail). But never in my life have I seen not just horrid work ethic, but outright disrespect towards the customer. What a shame.
I went in tonight to buy only a Colgate toothpaste on sale for $3.00, that was advertised in the flyer with an in-store coupon you could pair with a manufacturer coupon. Two different clerks rang it up at full price, then called the 'head manager." All three employees insisted I picked the "wrong" toothpaste, including the manager, who was obviously upset she'd been called to the front. I must have told them 5X that the tag on their stores' shelf said it was one of about 8 Colgate's on sale with this particular Rite-Aid coupon. NO-ONE believed me. So finally I said we can go check. The 'manager' huffed & hurried w/me trailing behind. Ah ha! It was the correct toothpaste after all! She then rang it in, still with the full price, (not $3.00 sale price), complaining loudly that she was interrupted from her lunch. Finally, it was rung in correctly. At this point, exhausted and in pain from my job (in customer service), I vowed never to return to this store. And I honestly felt like crying.
After going to several CVS & Walgreens locations searching for plan b, without finding anything. I lost all hope. So i figured i would give it one more try, so i stumbled into this Rite Aid location. I was greeted by a young lady who was very polite and helpful, I believe her name was Heather. She saw the distraught on my face as my 48 hrs was coming to an end with no ‘Plan B’ in sight. I told her my situation, with understanding and no judgement, Heather ran to the back. With only a few minutes left to spare, she came out letting me know that unfortunately they were out of Plan B, but luckily they had one ‘Option 2’ left (RiteAids version). So i snagged it, and a Dasani water and chugged it in my car. It worked like a charm! So thank you so much Heather, you are so helpful.
I wouldn’t give the one star if I could. According to the time and date I was scheduled for a job appointment ,I went to the interview location on date and time scheduled . However, the person I met there refused to interview me, as she put it like they managed to get someone else to work but she didn't call me , OR ANYONE DID to cancel the interview as she said I didn't add my phone number!!!! despite all the emails between us in less than 48 hours as though was my fault!! I had to take time permit “unpaid” from my work for the interview!! She didn't even give me a reason why I wasn't interviewed!!! Overthat she was RUDE to be honest. It was really waste of time and money Is this the RULES for Rite Aid !!!! Is this professional!? Really disappointed
Just finished my shopping here at rite aid #5658 for the first time. I was welcomed at the door by the cashier at the front, able to find exactly what I came for after mentioned cashier was able to explain exactly where it was (offered to show me but I planned on looking around more so I declined). After all my shopping the cashier explained to me the importance of signing up for the rite aid rewards card and actually helped save me money! The staff here is very nice, briefly talked to the manager and can tell he cares about the store and it’s customers. The store is clean and well maintained. After today I will most definitely continue to shop here. Thanks rite aid, keep doing what you guys are doing here. I will be back soon.
Nothing is really wrong with the store itself, but the people who work here are really rude. I understand they probably make minimum wage, and I visited at 9 at night so everyone was probably tired, but I noticed I was rung up for the wrong amount...the cashier didn't put through a 1/2 off on an item that should've been there. He rolled his eyes and said I already paid so there's nothing he could do. I was nice about it and just left to do a repurchase at another store, but I've worked in retail for a long time....repurchases or voiding the last purchase aren't impossible or that difficult to fix, laziness is.
IMO, the people here are completely incompetent! They can't figure out the slightest issue. I have my entire medication protocol jeopardized because of the pharmacist there who I consider to be wholly rude and incompetent. If you've had any problems with Darren Fujimoto you should call the California Dept. of Pharmacology to report him - check out his license!!! I tried to get the number for the corporate HQ to complain and they refused to give it to me. Hmmm - Doesn't seem right to me. This is a convenient location but run by monkeys so worth the drive up Genesee!
I love shopping at this Rite aid location because I feel welcomed as I'm walking through the door I'm always greated with a smile and hello. When I couldn't find a certain product i was looking for, Heather went above and beyond to help me find something that was similar so I didn't walk out disappointed or empty handed. Lastly as I was in line to check out the store manager Mike had rung me up just so that I didn't have to wait too long. So this is why I give this Rite aid location 5 stars.
Typical rite aid strategy. I went to get the booster shot and earlier called and you can't get through. Went in and the website says they take walk-ins. Of course he said well the website hasn't been updated yet and that they actually don't take walk-ins and then I said that you can't get through on the phone and he said yes you can so let's just say same old thing not helpful don't care wrong information disorganized understaffed don't care.
The Pharmacy I have been using for years. Very busy. Great employees. Friendly, and Good Management. Most all who have been there for many years. Lots of product choices. Prices are competitive with other Pharmacies. Weekly specials, coupons and sells Beer, Wine & Liquor. Money transfers, also money orders. Cash only On Money Orders though. Not good for large amounts. Will not accept debit cards for money orders.
I just purchased ice cream at Rite Aid and have the worst customer service experience the cashiers and ice cream servers name is Joanna she definitely should not be working customer service no warm no friendly barely speaking absolutely rude 0 percent people skills made my ice cream visit bitter and it's usually very happy for me
By far the best rite aid I’ve been to. Very clean. Employees are knowledgeable of the store and it’s products. Clean restrooms. Clean store. Store layout is very shopper-friendly. I recommend this rite aid to all of my friends. I shop here very often and will continue to do so.
Hi I go to this rite aid on governor dr and every time I go into the store I get greeted by a great employee her name is Angelina and she helps me with all my needs in the store and has one of the best customer service at that rite aid . Will be coming often Thank you …
Pharmacist on duty and staff failed to follow cdc guidelines on distancing. No procedure in place for vaccinations whether flu or covid, with appointments or walk in. Bad customer service. I will not be going back to this location again.
Calling in for a refill and was greeted by a friendly person in the pharmacy. They will be ordering my medicine and it will come by tomorrow. Just happy to have a human contact and a polite helpful voice on the other end of the phone.
Great supermarket for essential needs, medical needs. They do covid vaccines there, book your appointments online. Medical staff here to help in the very back of the store. No complaints really about this place and the staff.
Amazing experience at this store, very clean and the dairy products where by far the best I’ve seen in any store in SD County, the new staff is definitely putting in good work! Keep it up! I will definitely be back!
I was only stopping by to pick up a few things for my trip and I ended up getting more. The employees was very good and nice. The store manager was working the floor and was very helpful. Thank you for everything

Got some passport pictures, they weren't the right size, they don't cut them for you either, the skin tone was so bright and when we asked them to check them out, they didn't want to fix it.
I took the vaccine Pfizer shot today and the nurse who gave it to us was mean and the shot hurt me much I have been taking shots alot and I can tell the difference between nurses
