We've been several times for food and coffee since the owners took over some time ago, each time giving it the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately I don't think we will go again. We had breakfast this morning, I asked for scrambled eggs without lactose. The eggs came out mushy, pale & extremely bland. (could have made better at home) and the sourdough was basic white & under toasted. I almost left my dish, but couldn't bother after paying to go home to cook a second breakfast. My partner had poached eggs, his were nice but again toast was more like bread (not toasted enough). We waited 15-20 mins just to receive two coffees when there were barely a handful of customers. Ordered halloumi on the side, came out deep fried halloumi sticks (not grilled as is usually everywhere else). Was literally two sticks for $5!! We weren't attended to again after meals being dropped off. Would have happily ordered another coffee if someone had come to our table. We were never asked during or upon paying how our meal was. Did the staff know that it was less than average quality? Our previous dinner experience was un-satisfying when a pasta dish was cooked with ingredients that had been asked not to be included (allergies), third time lucky (everyone else had long finished their meals) but pasta was soft and definitely not al dente as you'd expect it to be. However staff were friendly and did not charge us for that meal for the inconvenience. The only plus is the location, and the staff are friendly upon entering. The coffee is also pretty good. Would we return again? Maybe for a coffee but not for food. It's overpriced and underwhelming.

I ordered pulled lamb risotto which was mentioned on the menu did not receive that —money down the drain it's like just a blob of rice thrown into a bowl very small amount where are the greens where's the truffle oil hardly any pulled lamb. There's hardly anything on the menu to order i could have made my own risotto at home bigger portion and tastier for only $5 to $10 instead of $28 very disappointed never again going to the Blackman’s Bay beach restaurant its also expensive for the amount you receive is not worth it, But the service is excellent.

Firstly, the location is super cool and breath taking Moving on to the restaurant, it's built simple yet classy.!! The staff is sooo good in there and now the most important point for which you clicked on this review is the FOOD which is just Delicious. We ordered in starters Chicken x two and in mains it was East x West. The food was super good, tasty and mouthwatering. The serving size was good for a single person and you will be full with just either of the dishes. Along with these, beer battered chips were there in sides which was quite good especially with aioli sauce. In drinks, there was iced coffee and sparkling cranberry which again were cool and refreshing. Overall, the experience, food and ambience is worth a try for some extra dollars as it is a bit on the expensive side but worth it. Do go and try..! ✌️

I loved this place for 14 years going with family and friends. The new owner is nice. Super understanding and very respectful and accepting. Through out the years this place has been special to me going with friends n family and soon celebrating my eight years with my love with our close friends for tea. They not only showed me a little tour since I haven't seen top floor for 13 years so much has changed n it looks phenomenal. In fact it's everything I could of ask for and more. I feel extremely lucky to have my anniversary dinner there soon and awesome people who are so kind who work there. thank you so much for everything.

The food was pretty decent and was nicely served but I had a dead fly on my plate! I lifted my last piece of fish to find a dead fly underneath. The waiter was very nice but should’ve washed their hands before removing it from my plate at the table. I wasn’t going to eat the part that had touched the fly obviously, so I missed out on half a piece of fish! Nothing was offered to fix this and I had to pay $30 for a meal with a dead fly pretty poor that it wasn’t made half price or a free drink wasn’t offered. In my job I would offer a refund or a new plate of food. Not very impressed and doesn’t make me want to come back for dinner.

Waitress delightful, pleasant & incredibly apologetic for the issues with the menu. But... 15 - 20 mins wait initially after waiter seated us at our table. No merlot on menu. Ordered Chicken Parmi & Pork Belly Salad. Waitress returned - no Parmi left (this was 6pm) so Chicken Burger. Salad was tasty but greens & mango tired..def not fresh today. Chips flacid & oily, chicken tender but batter overdone. Not very impressive, we're locals & eaten here many times over the years, quite disappointing.

Any noise inside the restaurant reverberates even when there is only a few people would not want to be there when fully booked. The food I had (fish) was mushy, bland and overcooked as were the chips, the only redeeming thing was salad. The rest of our party of six had similar comments on the food with the exception of one. The cost was not indicative of quality. Service was good attentive without being intrusive. All up a disappointing experience would not recommend.

My partner and i went to the beach house for a meal with six other friends.The venue was right beside the beach with fantastic views.Great glass windows all around to take in all the views.We had a great night there the food was reasonably priced and a great veriety on the menu.Everyone enjoyed there meal,the drink menu was extensive with alot of wine and beer etc to pick from and i thought it was reasonably priced as well.We had a great night there and would recommend it to anyone for a intermittent night or a group gathering.

A 5 star dining experience. The food is delicious, and the service is quality too. The prices aren't the cheapest, but it's not so expensive that I'd call the prices "upmarket" - an ideal place for a date night. We've been twice and will definitely go again. Their menu also seems to change from time to time (seasonal?) so it's worth trying back regularly if you like different, new flavours.

My wife and I came here for dinner last night. We thought that we wouldn't need a reservation on a Tuesday, but only managed to get a table due to a cancellation - how lucky that ended up being, because the food and service were absolutely next level. I've had some good food in Tassie but this place really takes the cake. Could not speak highly enough of it, thank you so much to all the staff there, if we come by the area again stopping here will be top of our list!

A pleasant outlook. Lots of hard surfaces make for a noisy experience. Add to that loud patrons and the odd screaming child and you get the idea. Very high surface area made for some very oily spring rolls. The main meals took about 30 mins to arrive. I had a burger which lost about 1/2 cup of liquid (presumably from the pineapple) when I picked it up, accompanied by cold, soggy fries. So, if that sort of thing floats your boat go for it. I won’t be back - ever.

Tonight was our first time dining at The Beach House and what a wonderful experience it was. The restaurant feels warm and modern in style. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and professional. The food was absolutely 10/10, the quality was above and beyond all expectations. We had a selection of different flavoursome meals and they were all amazing. Very generous serving sizes and a fantastic selection of wines also. Definitely a new favourite!

I've had some great meals here in the past but recently I ordered a chicken burger and it looked and tasted like a Caltex microwave special... The only thing missing was the plastic wrapper. Chips were cut from rotten potatoes and tasted pretty poor too. If it were priced appropriately I wouldn't care too much but at 27 it was probably 15 too high. Easy one to fix I hope it's better next time!

Dropped in today for a quick lunch, first visit to The Beach House on a quick visit from Adelaide. I had the Lamb Shank and my partner the Seafood Chowder. Both were excellent. Service very good, and it was lovely sitting in the sun looking out to the river. Recommended.

Wow. Wow, what a spectacular place to dine. Place was packed, which I always see as a great sign. The pork belly salad is, quite easily, the best salad I have ever eaten. Calamari was soft and fresh. Coffee was on point. The Beach House has become my new favourite place to eat. 10 thousand stars!!

I'm not a big fan of oysters but their 'daily treat' special for oysters was great! Natural oysters and a Berry salsa infused with mint - who would've thought that was an excellent combo? I didn't :) We ordered a seafood plate (and they were flexible to swap the Kilpatrick oysters for us) and their signature pizza. Both of us were full as a goog so we took away the pizza for lunch the next day.

HORRIBLE PIZZA for $26, the base was hard and crusty like in a frozen pizza from coles. The ingredients were sloppy chunks. The whole thing was falling apart. Fish, scallops and prawns on top were rubber like and definitely not fresh. This place is a Tourist trap Very loud and overrated. If you are after a good pizza in Blackmans/Kingston area Jack loves Red, Crust and PEP are great!

Went with a large group so very glad we were seated upstairs away from main dining area (for the sake of other diners!) Very friendly and helpful staff. Large group serving is always difficult but meals were brought out by table. Excellent presentation and taste. The sausages were slightly overdone (see photo) but otherwise meals on everyone's plate looked amazing. Definitely recommendable.

It was so good I went there twice within 2 weeks! Great friendly service by all staff. Pork belly and mango salad was on the menu, amazing! I was hoping to have the same dish the second time round, but instead it was with calamari. It didn't disappoint, being one of the best cooked calamari I've ever had. I'll definitely be heading back.

The service was exceptional with friendly on the ball staff. The view is stunning! I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee. And the chips were yummy. Alas, our meals of Thai fish cakes and chicken cups were disappointing. The fish cakes were dry with a big piece of skin on one of them and the crispy chicken pieces tasted like they had been overcooked. Not inedible, just not up to scratch.

Great view with satisfying food. However, they did have time frame of only making an order of breakie until 11am and needing to leave before reaching 12.15pm for lunch menu order. We arrived at 10.30am and did have food around 11:30am and had to leave 12:15pm. It's weird experience and I enjoyed food and view but couldn't enjoy awkward/ uncomfortable environment by their system.

Took my 82 year old father here for lunch while he was visiting from Queensland. He said his meal was one of the best seafood pasta dishes he's had. My seafood chowder was the best chowder I have had in a long time. Will definitely be returning.

Food was lovely but waitress lacking in knowledge and not helpful - when asked about size/weight of steak unable to answer and did not offer to find out. Also asked if pork belly had crisp top, was told no but when arrived had a crunchy top (which was delicious). More training required for a restaurant that is trying to be more than the average eatery.

Really good spot for an impromptu drink. Love being able to sit at the bar and chat to the friendly staff. Did take way too long for brunch one day recently though, and we had to chase some food, everyone had finished their meal, and one person hadnt got theirs. The manager was good about it though, and adjusted our bill.

I visited about 18 months ago and remembered the chowder fondly. I was lucky enough to be back recently and ordered the chowder again. Would you believe, it was even better this time around? New recipe ( I think I heard they have a new chef), great great meal. Would definitely make an effort to eat there again.

This was my first visit to The Beach house. I was with a group of 18 people. I ordered the pork and mango salad which was delicious. Everybody's meal looked really good. It definitely won't be my last visit. Thoroughly enjoyed. Good atmosphere and service.

Fantastic service. We turned up without a reservation on our way back from Bruny Island. Erin went out of her way to fit us in as the restaurant was fully booked downstairs with a function upstairs. Food was impeccable with big servings. Highly recommend.

Great food from share plates to substantial mains. The menu caters for all tastes and the produce used is local and fresh. Service staff are attentive, warm and friendly. Wine list is extensive and has 3 ranges to cater for all budgets.
