Not a great experience! Not good service or food. Beware. New owners or management weren't up to it. This was my experience on 13/3/19: Me, my mother and grandmother went to this restaurant with amazing views for my grandmother's 85th birthday lunch. We had booked in advance and when we booking, the restaurant couldn't get the time right but we eventually were able book our preferred time. When we were arrived, we weren't seated straight away due to our table was still being cleared. We were about 5 minutes early, however that was the first alarm bell that it wasn't going to be a great experience. We were then seated with menus and told the specials by the female wait staff who was dressed in black and looked professional. There was table water brought without asking for it which was good. We wanted to order and asked if there was a drinks menu, were told that there wasn't a drinks menu due to changes to the menu. We said that's okay and ordered two glasses of sparkling white. We also ordered an antipasto plate as a starter to share and a main each. My mother did ask for the antipasto plate as the starter and I also did say again to the waiter to have the plate as a starter. We asked twice when doing our order. The waiter who took our order was a male wait staff, who was dressed very casually in tracksuit pants, runners and tshirt with a sports logo on it. He looked like he had just gotten out of bed! We waited about 10 minutes without our drinks order coming so we asked for them. The female wait staff came with a bottle and poured two drinks with telling us there will be a wait on our food due having only one chef. We said that's okay and were fine to wait. Some complementary bread was brought to our table which was nice. About 20 minutes later, the antipasto plate was brought to the table. We asked for side plates since we were sharing then our mains appeared straight away. My mother wasn't happy and said to the male waiter that we had said we had asked for this as a starter. He didn’t really know what to say and said he had misunderstood. He did apologise but didn’t offer a solution. My mother asked for the antipasto plate to taken back. He did take it back and we started to eat our mains. My main was okay but it wasn’t the best dish I even had. My grandmother had ordered the same dish as me but she said it wasn’t warm enough for her. My mother’s dish had salmon that battered, chips and greek salad. My mother then asked for me to taste her salad for her and when I had the sundried tomato there was a fizzy taste in the tomato which wasn’t nice so I spate it out. It seemed the sundried tomato was off or spoiled. My mother then got up with the salad to talk to the wait staff without drawing attention from other diners. I wasn’t present for this conversation. I finished my meal but my mother and grandmother didn’t. The female wait staff came to ask if we wanted dessert. We said no and then she asked how our meals were. We told her and then the female wait staff started to argue with us saying the chef had over 30 years’ experience who wouldn’t serve sundried tomato which was off. We gave feedback about our experience and the food to the female wait staff again and she did apologise but didn’t seem that sincere. She then left the room and some fellow diners said to us that their food hasn’t been good as well and that the wait staff shouldn’t argue with us. The female wait staff came back and she had taken the antipasto plate and one main off the bill. It was still over $80 for lunch that wasn’t very enjoyable at all. I think there had recently been a change in owners or management of this business but still it was a very disappointing experience. It appeared that they weren’t in control of their kitchen and their service was terrible. I would approach this restaurant with cautious and do not have high expectations of it.

Another superb brunch at this delightful, friendly & professional restaurant. The food was beautifully prepared & presented. I had poached eggs on some delicious toast with a side salad. My partner chose the savoury muffin. Both dishes were adorned with fresh rose petals on top of the perfectly fresh side salads. Both dishes could not be faulted - neither the attentive staff. We felt so welcomed - from start to finish. As to the views: they are breathtaking. This establishment deserves its accolades. It's even dog-friendly (outside tables). There are some lovely walks through the reserve too!

Yesterday we eloped at The Signal Station and it was incredibly beautiful, intimate and so so special. We want to thank everyone for being so accommodating, moving our ceremony indoors when the weather was inclement, serving the most beautiful food, even our request for mulled cider (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic) were handed out for our guests. So amazing.. we are so grateful and words cannot describe just how thankful we are. Special thanks to Rob for being super cruisy and for making us feel so calm, while also putting together such a wonderful evening! Cheers guys!! Tara & Simon

Wasn't too keen on the scaffolding work happening coincidentally while I was there, but I guess the middle of Winter being off-peak tourist season is the time to fix things for Summer. Food was delicious (but a little pricey), staff were lovely and I will return from interstate for a third time. There were these special deep-fried rice balls with mozzarella and something else... I think it had 7 ingredients in it as the waitress explained. It was a chef specialty they whipped up. I can't remember how many, but it tasted it really good. My girlfriend and I had a lot of fun trying to guess the ingredients.
A beautiful day to see the magnificent views, such a treat for the soul. Shared a meal and dessert with my niece Cheryle, not rushed, watching the little blue wrens, enjoyed the food and the service. Also bought a gift card for visitors coming from the mainland. Perfect. Thank you

Really good service and the view is beautiful, the staff there is really nice and kind theyll bring water to your table with menus straight away. The food is delicous, id reccomend getting the tiramasu and a chai. The ambiance was like one of those youtube sleeping noises videos, and its relaxing just sitting down with a friend or a person from family 5/5.

I recently dined at Signal Station Restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience. The smoked salmon and brie pizza, fajita, and crumbled calamari were all exceptionally delicious. Desserts were a perfect end to the meal. I would give it a 5-star rating for both the food and service

Love visiting the Brassiere, especially when I have visitors from out of town. It’s Open 7 days so a Monday meal is even possible :) The view is superb and has so much wow factor. Our Monday lunch was outstanding, Mel was so hospitable and made as feel very much at ease. Love that one can order an all day breakfast. We all really enjoyed our respective lunch orders and the Tasmanian wine selection was superb. Can’t wait to return!
The view was terrific, but the service was terrible. Some waitresses seemed very unhappy. The dessert looks beautiful but we found a blond hair in waffle. The manager explained that the hair was from a brush which is better than a human hair? and offered half price as a discount. We noticed that the chef working in the kitchen without a hat was blonde, I supposed that brush is made of his hair
Just want to leave a review to let the manager know that there may be something you can improve. The food takes very very long and taste is below average. Waiters are not very friendly. Really wish a restaurant with such a nice view can have good service and food. So I can recommend to friends. Let me know if you’ve seen this. I’m happy to edit my rating or cancel this
Fantastic food, service and views. Great menu but only wanting a snack, we settled on the Salmon & Goats Cheese pizza to be shared by 3. It was to die for and along with the genuine friendliness and willingness of the entire staff to please, I would thoroughly recommend eating there. I will certainly be taking mainland visitors there in the future.
We just had the best birthday meal the food was amazing with some very different combos that i wouldnt have imagined could work together !They so did

Lovely view of the sea and mountains. Seafood chowder was packed with ingredients and fish, prawns and scallops were deliciously grilled before being served with the chowder and the Turkish pride bread went well with the soup. Honeycomb tiramisu was also great. Bonus that there were quite a few fairywren birds to spot! More
Decent food, good view, very friendly staff. More of a restaurant than a cafe. Wouldn't return due to the extremely long wait for service but perhaps they were short-staffed that day.

This is the most ridiculous ’dessert’ board ever seen - the prices are outrageous. $16 for a bit of cake!! My wife and I shared a scone that sadly was inedible - left a horrible salty after taste. Waiter just said ‘oh’. Coffee was nice. Views were nice. But come on guys this pricing is way past reasonable.
Such a cute place with an amazing view. The staff was nice since was mother's day you could see they were busy. Food was good and even though it was busy it came out fast.

Had a beautiful lunch today at Signal Station cafe. Was seated on enclosed balcony which provided the most sensational views. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was delightful. Our food was beautifully presented and delicious. The prices were reasonable. Overall I loved it …

Nice little cafe at the signal station with brunch and lunch options. Came here for a cup of long black coffee. Coffee was alright, definitely staying for the view. Menu prices are quite high for food, close to and above $30 for brunch food.

Consistently, the Signal Station Restaurant delivers tasty, healthy, and well-presented food. Their coffee is really good, and the Spinach and Corn waffles help you to start your day with some veggie portions! One of our favourite cafes for brekkie, and a great lookout spot too!
Magnificent views if you get the glass section of the Cafe. Food has always been very nice. We always get the sweet menu like scones, warm brownie, pancakes. Very nice. Just a bit squishy on the glass section but it's a small price to pay for amazing service,, food and views
Well done to the management of the Signal station! A place that locals had tended to avoid in recent years, the new offering is great: excellent service, wonderful coffee and cake including a yummy orange and almond gf cake. When I go back it will be for a full lunch.
Nice location. Expect to pay a bit more, but you get above average product.

Great place even on a rainy day. Great outlook as we sat with our warm drinks and scones. Helpful friendly staff. Prices not too crazy for some items. Saw others meals come out as we wait and they looked devine. We'll be back to try other menu items soon. Thanks
Dropped in only for coffee so can't comment on the food options. Very good service and nice coffee at a reasonable price. Excellent views over Hobart, the river and bays with plenty of seating. A short drive from downtown, a local bus stops out the front too.
My food was the best I had ever had. Had the special French, toast, with poached eggs, beetroot sauce and asparagus, sat outside with the best view. Service was fantastic too.

This truly is a must see and do for hobart area you can drive or hike up to hear the food, service and presentation is of a 5 star restaurant. Owners and staff are friendly and fast prices are well suited and the view is million dollar .
Wow. If you have not been to The Signal Station , Mt Nelson, Hobart Tasmania. You have missed the 8th wonder of the world. Outstanding service and fantastically cooked meals that will cater for everyone. Enjoy the views with a generous
They offer a wide variety of desserts and the cakes are full of flavor! The view is literally unbeatable! BTW, it’s really cute that you can pay for your coffee with some fresh citrus fruit that they can use to make more deserts later.
Superb location with panoramic 270 degree views over Hobart. The cafe offered a huge range of desserts very nicely presented. We will definitely come back to sample the lunch fare next time. The scones were particularly good!
$16 for a slice of mediocre chocolate cake. Front of house staff had no clue what they were doing. Kitchen staff seemed upset when asked about vegan options

So in love with this place magical view with yummy cakes and coffee! The staff are also very friendlyHighly recommend
Food was average and served in cardboard for eating on the outdoor patio. Lots of waste for no reason. Great view after a short hike
Excellent food, service and ambience . And then there is the view. In my opinion it is a better view than the Wellington Summit.
Awesome view on top of height. Guess can spend hours. Food excellent with courteous staffs. Everyone will enjoy the coziness.
Marvellous views on a gorgeous day. Great service and the food was delicious and larger than what we expected
Very peaceful and beautiful view. Nice coffee and food. Can't wait to visit next time.
