I came here because I saw their check in deal for a free drink. My friends and I showed that we checked in and the bartender was hesitant of giving us our drinks. It only applies to the house drinks so it was nothing special. This lounge has a very "pop" vibe. It was a big venue with many games and a naked girl dancing in a cage. The DJ was playing all of the pop songs you would hear on the radio. It wasn't the vibe that me and my friends were looking for so we had to look for something better.

I can not say enough kind words about the owner Jim, the bartenders & the regulars. What a great experience for Lynard Skynard fans! I can see why one of the greatest rock n roll bands of all times wrote a song about this place! Staying in the childhood home of the VanZant bothers & visiting the Jug has been a great experience for us die hard fans! I highly recommend a visit to the Jug if you’re in the Jacksonville area! Kudos to Jim & all his peeps! Much love!❤️

I was cutting the rug down at a place called the Jug... every Skynyrd fan needs to visit the Jug so 5 stars for being a cultural icon. But 3 stars for being such a dinky dive. Once you visit you will understand why Ronnie only needed 3 steps. We visited twice and once we felt very welcome and once we were just politely tolerated by a completely different group of regulars. Hit and miss but mostly with a visit!

Come to The Jug to experience true West Side Jacksonville. Cash, beer, and seltzers only. Everyone knows everyone. Out back is the coolest, there’s corn hole and an astroturf area to hang out. There’s no real bells and whistles but it’s one of the most authentic dive bars in Jax. One of the regulars is sure to tell you all about the Lynyrd Skynyrd and the history if you ask em.

Closed lately, They had Plastic tip dart boards, Silver Strike bowling, speed of service could use improvement. Would have gotten a lot better rating but not much parking available. Sometimes they place a giant cooker that takes up most of the parking in front. The on going Parking problem shows a lack of concern for customers. Hours posted on facebook make no sense either.

This is not the famous bar from the Skynyrd song. All these so called (local guides) are idiot transplants and know nothing. I’m sure this bar is a great local place for those that enjoy it. I’ve personally never been there but will check it out. The Little Brown Jug, called The Jug for short, was at 2517 Edison Ave. it’s now a commercial building.

Wanted to have a birthday drink and it was closed at 11pm. Sign said it closed at 2am. The employee said she's been dead for 2hrs and she needed to go get her kids from daycare. Hmm. I'm sure the owner woulndt be to happy to hear his buissness being closed during normal operating hours.

As usual, the Brown Jug is the place where my daughter(Class of 2020) and her sorority friends choose to go to remember their great years at Michigan. On this visit we enjoyed exceptional service by Sarah F., she so kind, on the ball and had a fun attitude. The Brown Jug makes me proud to be a Michigan parent! Go Blue.

Can't find any place that's open after a 12hr work shift overnight. Great experience there. The bartender Marcy was very helpful and the atmosphere is great. Parking is very limited and it's on the corner of a busy intersection so be careful.

Is a cool little hidey-hole but not very clean and not very much happening if you're looking for a spot to go and drink your sorrows away and forget about the day this is the spot for you LOL

  • Carlos Felix

It was early in the day so there wasn't a bunch of women but there was enough to keep you interested in that just had to stay a little longer the bartender was a sexy little friendly thing

  • Ray Galbán

it's the Jug.. what else can be said.. you're visiting an historic pub that is a staple of North Fl. and be ready for anything as this is the place where you might need "3 steps"..
