Zero customer service! Ordered a dining room set in June 2021.The dining set came in early December with only 7 chairs and was advised that one was damaged in transit and they would re order a chair. I heard nothing for a few weeks and messages were not being returned.I was then contacted and advised rhe chair would be delivered on 4 January 2022 The chair arrived and it was obvious they tried to repair the chair and did a horrible job so I refused the chair as it was damaged. I was then advised a new chair was ordered and a rush put on it. After several calls not being returned I was advised by email on 23 March 2022 the chair had been received. While not taking any chances I tried to call and was transfered twice and hung up. I then attended the store on 3 April and spoke to the manager Amanda who advised that the chair wasn't received and she would call me around 4 pm. At around 4 pm another employee called and said Amanda had left in a hurry and advised that she (Amanda) was checking into compensation and would call me the next week. After receiving no call I called upper room on 14 April for an update and advised Amand was no longer with them and would I like a phone call update or email. I chose Email because no one has ever called me back from this store Still waiting... Update .I received a call from the general manager who advised the chair was not re-ordered so he would give us the damaged chair and re-order the chair. The chairs would then be swapped in August when the new chair arrived. I called the 15 August and am awaiting response. Update: Chair is now expected to be received 15 November 2022 Update: Advised the chair will now be received in early December 2022 The saga continues Update: December 13th 2022,8th Chair received today. Original order for the dining set was June 2021. Delivered in Dec 2021. One year to replace a chair damaged prior to delivery. Compensation....BIG ZERO Never again.

Our dealings with this company were abysmal, difficult and will never be repeated. We placed our order for close to $26K of furniture in October 2020. We were warned that they were having supply line issues with some of their suppliers, which meant delays of 6-8 months. We agreed to that. Final delivery of the final piece of furniture took place in March of 2023; if you are doing the math, that is 30 months to complete our order - and we did not get everything we ordered due to some items being discontinued by the suppliers. Aside from the long delays, we experienced myriad issues with invoicing problems, with ordered items suddenly not being available or so damaged in the warehouse they could not be delivered, arguments over outstanding amounts, obviously damaged furniture being delivered and in one memorable case, the *wrong item* being delivered altogether. The entire experience was stressful and very unpleasant. Trying to communicate with customer service via their Byzantine voicemail system to get to speak to a living person was also a challenge. Customer service does not appear to be this business’s top priority. Never again. There were two bright spots during our exhausting experience with Upper Room. One sales associate in particular became our lifeline and go to person when we encountered problems. She stuck with us all the way through and was professional, committed and exemplary in keeping us informed while trying to get us answers and actions as needed. The second light was the Upper Room delivery teams who were unfailingly on time, cheerful, professional, polite and respectful of COVID protocols and of our home - always leaving it tidy after unpacking and setting up whatever furniture they were delivering. I cannot recommend Upper Room for the reasons stated and won’t be dealing with them in the future.

Went into Upper Room this afternoon, hoping to try out some Stressless brand chairs for my wife who suffers from severe back and hip paid. We met Aida who from the movement we arrived was very pleasant and friendly but not pushy. She simply let us look around on our own. Whenever she saw us stop and start trying certain chairs out she would come over and answer questions, talked about manufacturing of the products, how they work, how liking to deliver, customization and the current sales. She didn’t rush us or pressure us, and understood how a big purchase like this is an important decision so told us to sit back and enjoy and relax and take as long as we needed. I left my wife to try them out (too short of a chair for me) while I wandered and looked at other chairs, trying to find something I would find comfy for an every day chair. I landed on the single seat Palliser Flicks chair. With USB, multi cup holder, storage in the arms, lit cup holders, and accessories like tables and tablet holders, independent leg raise, back recline and head lift, this chair was absolutely Uber comfortable. I fell in love. After some back and forth, and Aida answering all my questions and listing the prices for me, I broke the seal on my wallet and ordered a brand new (my first) power recliner. After 3 hours of browsing and trying chairs, we failed to leave with one for my poor wife in pain. But did get info that she will consider and possibly go back in a week or two and order one. We only left when we did because the store closed. Overall it was the most relaxed and friendly shopping experience for furniture that we have ever had. She didn’t follow us around didn’t linger or hover. She did great. And we will be back to buy the next chair sooner or later.

I have very mixed feelings towards Upper Room furnishings. On the one hand, our experience in store was great; the salesperson was excellent and quickly settled everything, and the delivery team has been pleasant so far. On the other, I have not found them to be very forthcoming with information regarding our items delivery (a Canadian, custom-made table and bench + four imported chairs). The delivery window was 8-11 weeks. After 11 weeks, I followed up, to be told that my delivery was "on track for the scheduled time", which was now set to 13-16 weeks. My follow up email on week 15 was unanswered. The extension for delivery information at the store was dead. I called again a week later and tried talking to the receptionist, who informed me that part of my order (table and bench) were there, but that the chairs were no longer set to arrive before an additional 4-5 weeks (I'm aware of the world-wide container shortages, so I can at least understand that part, as inconvenient as it is). The leftover payment was made for the table, its base and the bench, but the delivery team only showed up with the bench, as parts for the table were missing at the warehouse. As no heads up were given, we had made arrangements to have our old table on removed the same morning. We were told to call the store, where we were informed that someone at customer service would follow up with us in about a week's time. I'm happy with the quality of the items I have received so far and in the past, but the whole experience has been extremely frustrating. I don't think I will be dealing with Upper Room Furnishings again.

UPDATE: Furniture arrived and is very well designed. The upper room installers tried to convince me that the furniture came with extra parts that aren't required and after demanding they check the manual it was discovered these "extra parts" are required. I was so frustrated after they took the Furniture apart and drilled further holes a second time I was not going to have them do it a third time after discovering they messed it up again. Currently the drawers move on their own and the sides of the frame are bent. What kind of business has amateurs this unprofessional working for them. UPDATE2: Furniture material is junk, only a few months in and its starting to fall apart. Not what you should see when spending this much on furnature. ‐---------------‐-------------------- Service staff are helpful and furniture is good quality. (Made in Canada too) You really get what you pay for, and spending over $7000 might sound steep for a few pieces of furniture but the quality matches. I would have attached a picture of the beautiful bedroom set I ordered last year to show how well built and well designed their products are. Unfortunately we are still sleeping on the floor as it has yet to arrive over a year later. I would like to say that at least the communication regarding delays has been good, but I cannot do that either. Living out of laundry baskets over the last year has also been a fun adventure. My wife is even more impressed than I am, and you know what they say about a happy wife.

Extremely disappointed!!! Bad communication. Zero credibility!!! I ordered a dining table in Oct 2021, until now March 15, 2022, I still haven’t received it! It hasn’t been delayed again and again and again and again. What makes me really disappointed is during this time, no one has informed me in advance of the delays and contacted me proactively. On the quite contrary, they completely ignored my emails and ignored my request to cancel my order. They have been avoiding me. The status department told me they have forwarded my email to the manager and he will contact me directly. Two weeks passed, no one contacted me. So I called the store and was told the manager will call me to provide solutions regarding my order. Now, three weeks passed, not a single manager has called me or contacted me in other ways. I was completely ignored!!! It was extremely disrespectful!! I guess they are just expecting me to wait forever and bear every thing they did, as I have already paid. Apparently, they couldn’t care less about customers. Last time, they told me my order will arrive at the latest mid March. Again, it’s still ‘on the way’ and they didn’t reply to my email asking for order status. If I knew I would wait over 5 months for a simple table, I definitely wouldn’t place the order here. Upper room staff or the manager, if you are seeing this message, plz contact me ASAP. I need an answer. My order ID is 123142. You have my contact information.

Not impressed. I emailed them asking if one of their more expensive desks is expected to go on sale soon. An hour later, they called me. After a brief chat, I chose to buy the desk, and they promised that they would remove the tax from my invoice if they had a "no tax" event in the next 30 days. That was in October 2021. Lucky me, their "no tax" event occurred a few weeks after my purchase, so I emailed them about removing the tax from my invoice. I didn't get a reply. After another few weeks, I emailed again. Nothing. In January, they emailed to inform me that delivery of my desk was to be delayed until April. I replied asking them to remove the tax from my invoice. No reply. In April, they emailed again about postponing the delivery again. I replied -now thoroughly fed up- about removing the tax from my invoice. Finally, they replied saying a manager would contact me. That was 4 weeks ago now... ...and then I posted this review. Within a day, a store representative called me, and finally gave me the discount I was promised. After 4 more weeks, the desk was finally delivered. It was long and frustrating, but I finally got the desk I ordered, at the price I was promised. And if you have the patience and the fortitude, you too can enjoy their fine furniture.

We purchased 6 dinning chairs back in Sep 2018. We were told at the time that the chairs take 8 weeks to deliver as they are custom made in Toronto. It took more than 8 weeks and chairs were finally here. We discovered right away that chairs had tags marked with “Made In China” and were very poor quality to the point that they wouldn’t assemble properly. We brought the chairs back and told them that we were misinformed and that we couldn’t have just paid over $1700 for chairs that were shipped from China and that wouldn’t assemble. Upper Room offered only one option of a store credit and refused to refund us. We initially thought ok let’s try to get something else that is better quality but seriously we couldn’t trust them again. I requested that we get a refund which was denied by the store manager who claimed to not have permission to refund me. He then claimed that he needed permission from the General Manager and would get back to me. Since then I haven’t heard from them, tried to call everyday and my calls are not returned. Upper Room has misinformed us and now are holding $1700 for no reason despite the fact that the Store Manager mentioned that the chairs were sold as floor models so they made money on them. I don’t recommend this business to anyone.

This is for the Youville location in Orleans. The store has a gorgeous selection of furnishings & we found the staff very pleasant and attentive. However, our salesperson was distracted while serving us because she was informed that other clients were waiting for her. Therefore, we definitely felt a sense of being rushed & discovered afterwards that, though we had put $2600 down on a piece, we were not given an invoice, just a 'Hand Off' sheet with little to no detail on it. This became relevant when we realized that we had made an error on the orientation of our couch & & tried to contact someone at the store. When we did not receive a reply from our email to our salesperson, I called the store & left a message. I did not hear back. So, a day later, I called & spoke to a salesperson. He confirmed that, yes, as we suspected our salesperson was on her days off & would return the next day. However, he warmly offered to make the correction to our order. He told me to attend closely to my email as he would send a document that required me to sign & return it. I never received any document. Overall, we like the store & the staff but are a little concerned that this series of small errors will mean more problems with our order.

Our buying of a new couch was overall a decent experience. We dealt with a rep and the sales manager, and they worked hard to get the deal done. We arranged this early so we would get delivery well in time for our new home. Although they said they could hold in the warehouse for as long as we needed, when I tried to change delivery date when our house got pushed they had no note on file that they could hold for us. Thankfully when the warehouse called us for delivery they said no problem to hold it. Finally, delivery was pretty smooth EXCEPT that the delivery DENTED our wall, they said they noted it on file and when we get a call after about the delivery. When the woman called, she asked how it went, but had no record of the issue and said she would call back after she looked into it. Never heard back from them. If you want nice furniture, this is the place, if something goes wrong or they make a mistake, good luck getting it rectified. No one wants to take initiative there. Update: after this review, they did call me as per owner mentioned below to let me know a technician will call me to schedule a service..... they didnt however, still waiting for that call. Pray your delivery has no problems.

Last October, I called the store to order a table, which showed as in stock online. Three months past, I still haven’t received it. It has been postponed THREE times. First time, they told me I will receive it early Dec. And then late Jan. And now, I emailed them to check the status of my order, 2 days past, no reply at all! Very disappointed with my purchase here. Their customer service should at least contact me first informing me about the delay rather than me reaching out to them. Now, I just wish I could receive my table before I move to another place. Update: They replied me saying it will arrive late March. I really don’t understand why it will take half a year to get a table! I was ordering it for Christmas!! Anyway, I won’t trust them anymore that I will receive it next month after three times delay! There is no credibility at all. I should have just ordered from Structube, at least they let me know the estimated date of arrival from the beginning. I emailed them insisting that I want full refund and I don’t want to wait forever. Three weeks past, no reply at all!! Worst communication ever! Very disappointed!

I would like to thank Patty Racine, Design Manager, at The Upper Room for the outstanding service and advice she has provided. We take great pride in our home and when we do something we want to do it once and do it right. My husband and I feel fortunate to have been introduced to Patty when we were looking for new living room furniture. Patty is very professional and detail oriented. She was quickly able to align furniture needs and accessory recommendations for multiple rooms with our vision. In fact, she articulated additional options for consideration that resulted in “wow” factor. When all of our furniture was delivered it was very evident that Patty is truly an expert at what she does. We were thrilled with everything and how it fit with the character of our home. Our experience with Patty and The Upper Room exceeded our expectations. Patty proactively anticipated our needs and made the process seem effortless for two busy professionals. We would recommend Patty and The Upper Room without hesitation.

I am stunned by the lack of honesty of this store. We bought an end table online on sale. The sale went through online no problem and amount went through on my credit card. I received email confirming sale at amount I paid. 4 days after the purchase I receive a call from the Kanata store to tell me there was an error? They want me to pay an additional 300$ for it? I indicated this does not make sense, it was on the website. this is an error on there part and have to honour their mistake. They said no, not possible. They have refused so far and now trying to send my money back. I asked to talk to someone more senior and there was hesitancy. They stated they would get back to me but nothing yet. As I stated to them, if I buy a piece of clothing, pay at cash and get home, they don’t call me to take my money back or ask me to pay more? They need to honour their mistake, not my issue if they did not see it before my purchase. I will file a formal complaint and I warn all clients to beware of this game.

I recently had a truly terrible experience with the Upper Room Shop's delivery service. Despite being assured that I could choose the delivery time slot, they failed to provide me with the necessary link and proceeded to schedule the delivery themselves. When I contacted them to address the issue, they informed me that I was unable to change the assigned time frame and would need to reschedule for another day. They held me responsible for being present during a time slot that I didn't even select. This level of incompetence and disregard for customer needs is completely unacceptable, especially considering the hefty price tag of $150 that I paid for the delivery. I have never encountered such a frustrating delivery experience before, and as a result, I have no intention of shopping with them again. Avoid the Upper Room Shop if you value reliability and customer service. There are far better alternatives available that deserve your hard-earned money.

I apologize in advance if I get any of the salespeople names wrong. I am a student at Algonquin College and I'm in the Residential Decor program. I had an assignment for one of my courses that involved sourcing furniture from the Upper Room. I went to the Hunt Club location in person to get ideas for my project. Even though the salespeople knew I was just a student working on a project, they were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! Patty, Kelly, Kaitlyn (or maybe it was Katie), and Lynn were my helpers answering all my questions. When I was working quietly on my projects, I saw first-hand how the staff treat their customers with such professionalism. On a side note, a lot of the furniture can be custom made to meet the customers needs/style. You can be sure when I graduate next spring, if I have customers looking for furniture, I will HIGHLY recommend the Upper Room. The customer service and quality of furniture can't be beat!

I warn everyone NOT to go to The Upper Room if you're looking for good customer service when something goes wrong. I purchased a sectional with chaise lounge and a velvet barrel chair for $4500 on May 13, 2022. I bought this sectional because I was told it was in stock. It was NOT. When it was all delivered on July 2, 2022, they actually sent a sectional in TWO DIFFERENT COLOURS. One half was navy blue, the other half was light grey. Of course, that was blamed on the manufacturer. It took until August 20, 2022 for them to deliver the second half in navy blue BUT there was no chaise lounge. Again, blamed on the manufacturer. Finally on November 15, 2022, the chaise part of the sectional was delivered. The Upper Room took no responsibility for any of their mistakes and would only compensate me the delivery fee after 4 1/2 months of horrible customer service and repeated screw ups on their part. Avoid this store at all costs!

We are new residents in the Ottawa area and were in need of decor consultant and furniture, art work and floor coverings. I booked a consultation with an interior designer with Upper Room and were assigned Uzyol Bahrdey. She visited our home and listened to our wants/needs to determine what would work in the house. A few weeks later we visited with her at the store (Kanata location) and she provided wonderful ideas, suggestions for decor and furniture. We agreed with many of her ideas and suggestions. She was so good at finding solutions for the ideas that didn’t quite work. Uziol has been so patient and helpful when I changed my mind about my wants and needs. Her knowledge of decor, space flow, Color’s and how to put them together is excellent. We knew it will take time for the pieces we ordered to arrive. In the end we ordered kitchen counter stools, buffet, end tables, area rug, recliners, lamp, bedroom suite.

Lynn Hamilton was wonderful. I was looking for something VERY specific for my 87 year old friend before I brought my friend to the store Lynn listened intently and did not hesitate to share both pros and cons of certain items and makes. She was discrete but asked for my price range and then showed me many options ( none of which exceeded that price limit) When I left and returned with Sheila, Lynn spoke directly and so sweetly to Sheila and answered her questions and listened to the stories that Sheila shared. She made payment easy and was quick to find what we needed in the warehouse Sheila is SO excited to learn that her new chair will arrive on Tuesday I came to Upper Room after having a fabulous experience with Kathy. My red couch is a year old now and everyone LOVES it You are a classy and welcoming store with employees that knock it out of the park Well done Donna Allen for my 87 yr old pal Sheila McD

Service is good during purchase but after purchase is a different story. We ordered 2 living room sets, a bedroom set and 2 dinning room set and one sofa came with missing cushions, a ripped backing to a king size bed and a ripped sofa. 5 months later, the tech comes to fix the sofa only to bring a completely different fabric and advises us that upper room was the one that told them this was the fabric and the wait would be similar to the previous wait. Fastforward to a few months later, the tech shows up with the correct fabric, but not enough to repair the sofa. Another waiting game. Upper room customer service has taken 0 accountability for the poor after service. We have contacted upper room to address these issues which some were handled with MANY back and forth and no compensation was offered to keep their clientele happy. Unfortunately this service resulted in the one star rating for upper room.

They have nice stuff but today's experience did not make me want to purchase anything else from them. I ordered 2 couches on April 7th and were supposed to arrive end of June. Now they are arriving at the end of August. This however is not what frustrates me. What frustrates me is that I was supposed to receive loaner couches today and they never arrived to my home. I called at 2 pm and asked when they will be arriving. They said everything is delayed and that there are 4 drop offs before me which would probably delay the delivery to a bit past 4. No problem, it happens. I then call at 3 pm and they tell me that the delivery people came to my house and called me but there was no answer. HUGE LIE. Not only did I not receive a phone call, but someone was at my house waiting for the couches and no one rang the bell or knocked at the door. They have no consideration for anyone's time.

From the moment we walked in the UpperRoom store, we absolutely knew that the quality level of their furniture was superior to all the other stores we had been at. When we were offered the services of an in-home designer, we were thrilled! Patty Racine came to our home and she really took into consideration all of our needs, as well as the existing components of each room. Then we had a private appointment with her at the store and she spent 2 hours working with several samples we had brought in, in order to fully insure we were making the right colour choices. We were so impressed by her helpfulness, her professionnalism and her knowledge that it made us feel totally safe and confident in investing our money. Joanne combined her product knowledge with her professional care and attention to provide us with a more than satisfactory experience. We purchased a beautiful Canadian made sectional and chair back in July and had it delivered to our new home in January 2021. The purchase experience was great with the sales representative however the after sales department is severely lacking. Our chair was delivered damaged with a very noticeable gash on the front of the chair. The delivery person took a picture and emailed it to the company, explaining that someone from Upper Room would contact us. I’ve emailed customer service several times asking for either a replacement chair or to have the chair repaired. After several weeks and several emails, no one from upper rooms has contacted us. They don’t respond to email or phone calls. What kind of company delivers a clearly damaged chair and doesn’t return customers emails or phone calls?

Products are sophisticated but the up-charge on items, for example, a small plastic succulent for over $20, was baffling. If they are over charging this much for a fake plant, how much are they over charging for their furniture? With a 50% off sale price I expect a sectional couch to be a more reasonable price than $16,000 AFTER the discount. I could buy 3 used Honda Civics for that price!! If you are looking for anything remotely affordable this is not the place for you… They clearly only aim their business at one demographic (aka the 1%). Not to mention, if I’m paying this much for a price of furniture I would expect some form of customer service. Not a single associate even looked our way the entire visit. If I were the manager, I would aim at creating a more welcoming environment.

When we first enter the show room was very attractive; we were greeted almost immediately the customer service was excellent and the sales specialist by the name of Darlene who waited on us was very Professional, attentive and had an eye for detail. She was very knowledgeable of her products and Current home trends. We also found that her suggestions were dead on point for what we were looking for in home decor which made our selection a lot easier. Another reason why we’ve chosen the Upper Room was because of their Current upscale selection, and a choice for modern and contemporary designs and lots to choose from, yes we would recommend this over any other company we’ve visited, simply said they have an amazing product, excellent quality and an excellent service please see Darlene.

TERRIBLE DELIVERY EXPERIENCE! Bought store floor item at the Merivale location, but was refused to take it with - I was told to pick it up from the warehouse. Days later received call from the warehouse, but when I got there, I was told that the item was still at the store. When I reiterated that I could go to the store to pick it up, I was refused again. They did offer me free delivery a week later. On the day of the delivery, gave me a window of 10-1 pm. At 1:30 pm it shows as cancelled, but when I can customer service, no one seems to know. Two weeks after paying for my item that was before my eyes, I still don't have this item in my possession and no one seems to know why. I was planning on returning to the store to purchase more items, but I won't make that mistake again!

My husband and I had a great experience working with a designer and shopping at the Upper Room Home Furnishings store. Our designer, Patty, was able to put our likes/dislikes and style of our home into design board with exactly what we were looking for (just didn't know how to do it ourselves!). We loved working with her --she has a keen eye mixed with the ability to understand her clients. In addition, I love all the options available for the furnishings, from the material to the stain and type of wood, as the fact that a lot is Canadian made. I had no idea we could have so many options 'locally'. Overall we had a wonderful experience and really look forward to getting our new furniture. We highly recommend going to see what they have and using their design services.

Angela was our sales person and she was amazing. We were able to find 4 sofas that met out criteria and Angela was very patient while we deliberated various aspects of each possibility. Angela answered our questions and offered advice. We finally selected our sofa and then went to the Stressless recliners where Angela was, again, patient with us and our deliberations. We settled on our Stressless recliner. We found the customer service to be excellent. The selection at the Upper Room was large providing us with a plethora of choices. We enjoyed our time at The Upper Room and look forward to receiving our purchases later this year. I will update the review once the delivery has occurred to let you know how that went. Our service started with a search on line as we already knew what we wanted. We found exactly what we were looking for and as well we got educated on Leather and what Real Leather is; as apparently it’s not the same as “Genuine” leather. All from a Chat box. After asking a few Questions we received emails with pricing which was reasonable. We did not want to order on line as we like to see feel and try sitting on our new purchase. We were told they had one on display so we trusted that they did and made the trip. It was over an hour but well worth the Drive. They have a Beautiful Store and Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The upper room has great quality furniture, and their service is great. I have bought furniture from the upper room twice. The first time I bought a table, which I bought with the warranty. They fulfilled the warranty requirements and while making it relatively hassle free. The quality of the table is excellent. The second time I bought a couch, and the sales associate was very helpful and nice. He went above and beyond by (1) delivering another piece of furniture we were considering buying with our couch purchase so we can see how the other furniture looks in the room, and (2) personally put is in touch with a colleague that could help us move or existing furniture out (it isn't a service they provide, but the sales associate was super nice)

Yesterday, I visited Upper Room in Ottawa / Hunt Club, and was served by Kelly. She was knowledgeable, tasteful, and high-energetic. She answered all questions related to costs, fabrics, designs, customization, manufacturing, timeline, and was thorough in every details, and added her experience, recommendations and high taste. Though the shop was extremely busy, within two hours I was able to complete an elegant and prestigious design and order from A to Z for my living room. I would surely recommend Upper Room based on selection, available models and customizations, and Kelly’s assistance. We waited patiently for several months for our couch to be fabricated only for it to be delivered damaged. We called and were told to send an email, which we did along with photos of the damage, only to be ignored. We were told someone would call within a week and never heard from anyone. Really disappointed at the utter lack of customer service and quality assurance. UPDATE: Upper Room finally got in touch with us and said they would send an upholsterer to “repair” the damaged portion. We paid for a brand new couch, not a refurbished Frankenstein couch. This is unacceptable. You need to stand by your products. UPDATE: They have not contacted us again despite promises that they would be in touch after we asked for other optionsz

Ordered a bedroom set for over $10k with white glove delivery service (100% satisfaction guaranteed). Delivered today and they scratched my hardwood floors, damaged the headboard, and the set had defective slats (one does not touch the ground, one has a big knot in it). Contacted customer service and they will talk to the manufacturer about a new headboard but they say the defective slats are normal and that it's "just a little scratch" on the floor. Edit: Had a lot of difficulty getting to a manager. After filing a BBB complaint the store has agreed to refund some money for the damage to the floors. Additionally we have been told that the manufacturer will be supplying a new headboard AND the replacement slats.

I purchased a sofa bed from the Upper Room and it was delivered in July 2023. It was the wrong size and not what I ordered. Their own technician measured it to confirm it was the wrong size. I was also asked to measure it and send pictures showing it was the wrong size. It is now October 2023, and I keep getting the run around from The Upper Room. They keep telling me they are dealing with the manufacturer. Why does it take two months for the Upper Room even to acknowledge there was a mistake. I have purchased many pieces of furniture from The Upper Room over the years and have not had a problem until now. This is inexcusable and I will definitely think twice about ever purchasing from them again.

Best customer service experience from Patty. We NEVER buy anything without researching and analyzing our options thoroughly, so it is usually a slow process for us to make a decision. We bought two sofas and one swivel armchair from Upper Room with the assistance of Alexander, a Sales Rep. The design of the sofa set attracted us as Alexander described and made insights of every piece of furniture very vivid and crystal clear for our understanding. Alexander is the man without whose assistance we could barely choose such a beautiful piece of furniture for our new home. Alexander was very honest in his opinion on as much as the furniture he showed us in the shop. The Upper Room is very fortunate to have Alexander.  Price is higher than any other store in Ottawa however, we are expecting the price will be worthy for the quality that Upper Room is offering.

My wife and I have been wanting a sectional for awhile now and jumped on the opportunity at upper room with the tax free event. I went in the store several times and felt a warm welcome every time. We dealt with patty and really appreciated her expertise with helping us find the right sectional. Patty was able to help meet our families needs by simply listening to us. She also was excellent with helping pick fabrics for the sectional as it can be overwhelming with so many options. She never pressured us into buying the whole time we were talking. I finally found Upper Room Home Furnishing on the net & since they seemed to have a huge showroom I decided to go for a visit. I was lucky to meet Catherine Marley, one of the Upper Room sales associates. She was terrific! I was very impressed with all the styles they had to offer along with the choices to personalize everything to meet my specific needs (and vision). DO NOT shop here, Samantha at the Hunt Club is deceitful. She is rude, and left me unsatisfied with my purchase. We were overcharged on a couch. When I tried to confront Sam she said to shop at the Brick if i want those prices. The price on the couch said one price (I have pictures) and the receipt was had an additional $600. When i tried to explain this, she would not hear it and told me to shop at the Brick. I was highly offended at her comments and lack of wanting to listen to what I had to say. I truly hope you don waste your time. The quality of the couch is disappointing for being a 6000 + couch.

We recently bought a cabinet. We had good service when we actually bought it but I went the day before and was served by a woman who was rude and uninformed. She got the manager and he was very abrupt. They insisted I would have to pick up the item in Stittsville after being told I could take it with me. I understand the policy but not once did they suggest delivery. I live in Orleans and didn’t feel like driving out to Stittsville. We have spent thousands at that store but were treated very poorly. I went to the Orleans store to see if they had the same cabinet and was served Sandro who was terrific.

This was our first time buying but not our first visit. To be honest, it was one of the nicest, easy going furniture purchasing experiences we have had in years. It was our second visit to view the Amisco line of products at this location. We were very impressed with the quality of the product. We wanted to return because on our first visit, the salesman did a very good job of helping us view the different pieces, review the options for customization and to consider the rignt ones. Everyone was very helpful. The salesman, the store manager, the designer and other assisting salespeople were attentive and supportive. All of our questions and concerns were adressed and we are gladly awaiting the reception of our order.

Very surprised last visit there a few days ago. They r selling floor models as new stock even though they been sat on for months. We were interested in a sofa on sale. I asked if they had any in stock. She said yes this one (the floor model). I said your advertising it as new and not specifyingthat its a floor model. She said. Thats the one we have in stock. I said your advertising new product on sale but its not new its been sat on etc for months. She said "thats the one in stock". So we left. Shady advertising. Floor model should b specified as such.

Be careful to know if the items you purchase are a final sale. Our family is also final with this company. After purchasing items that look good on a wall and only to find out later that they were of poor quality and that one of the picture frames had fallen of the wall because of poor quality control our options were we will give you a good deal on an item we were considering and no store credit or refund. Very bad customer service. Companies like this will suffer in the end. We will now purchase our Palliser sofa at another retailer.

Beautiful furniture. However, please save your money. Ordered a nightstand in October. After the sale there was no follow-up. I had to constantly phone them with updates and delivery of the item kept being pushed back. It is now end of June after furiously phoning them my order arrived and was delivered. On delivery the nightstand wasn’t the one I ordered. I have spent a lot of money and when paying a lot for furniture you wouldn’t expect this level of incompetence. Again, stay away and spent your money elsewhere.

The Upper Room is a large and bright new store. We visited during Boxing Week. There were lots of staff to take care of visitors. We were assisted by Alex who listened to my criteria and was able to point out a few options. He explained the advantages and features very well. At no time were we pressured. We purchased a sofa and love seat which arrived earlier than forecasted. Delivery staff were very professional. I will tell people to go to Upper Room if they are looking for good quality and stylish furniture.

Terrible experience with this location. They delayed the delivery of sofa by 4 months (it took three seasons for them to produce it). On delivery day, they intentionally scheduled me on the time I asked them not to schedule me, informing me only few hours in advance. After which the sofa was lost for two days and no staff has contacted me. Managers are not available to speak with, HR is completely untrained in customer service saying they do their job poorly because there are two many people to care about.

Had an issue with a being delivered an incorrect model of a loveseat we purchased. It took some time for the UR to even respond to my notifying them of the problem but, at the end of the day, they have committed to making good on their mistake and providing us with our original purchase when it is available. The sofas are made to order in western Canada. Thanks to Amanda for fixing this. We are happy with the quality of the Palliser furniture, still evident in the model we have until it is replaced.

So comforting to go into a store and be treated well, the design consultant that looked after us (Jane) was very knowledgeable and extremely patient. We were looking for a reclining chair, she showed us several chairs, explained the differences between them and treated us with respect. We did not feel any pressure at all to purchase. We selected our favourite and then with her assistance chose fabrics. It can be an overwhelming task, but we came away very pleased with our choices and with no headaches. Overall, this was an excellent shopping experience. I was able to get the information I needed quickly through their website Chat function, then make an appointment. The in-store experience felt safe as the store is very large and the usual COVID precautions were in place. Our consultant Kenan was very helpful, professional and patient as we made decisions about models and then fabrics. All in all it was a very positive experience. The store itself has a huge variety of furniture on display.

I would not be inclined to give them a great review. We have been bounced around to two sales rep and still no answer. We have been trying to order extra matching material since April and it seems that they have issues keeping employees. Writing directly to employees and not a general email box has its advantage but if an employee is no longer with the company the emails go unread and you have to start the process all over again. Not sure that the way they operate is savvy in my opinion.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE AFTER SALES SERVICE!! Our table has 2 leaves that are smaller than the table itself. Looks ridiculous. We told them the day they delivered it (our mistake was accepting it) and have been getting the runaround since. Nobody calls back, we have to keep calling and getting nowhere. They say all sales are final which should have been our first clue not to deal with them. Save yourself time and money and go to another furniture store who will stand behind their products.

One thing i like about Upper Room is how all floor models with a red tag are for the price on the tag (Tax included). If you like a particular model its tours to buy. I appreciate that. Otherwise there are a lot of customizing you can do. Delivery of the average custom sofa is 8-10 weeks so keep that in mind. Staff is very friendly and prices are decent but can be on the pricey side where custom is needed. There are furniture maintenance plans so do keep that in mind.

We went there looking for a few beds, couches and chairs. The staff was around and supportive, but did not jump all over you pushing sales. They let you browse around, when you were interested in something they came and helped. They were extremely knowledgeable, fast to respond and worked out things quickly. The sectional we wanted was not on the floor, but through her help in providing advise, pictures and costs we were able to buy a super piece of furniture. Have purchased a lot of furniture from Upper Room. COViD aside, with all the delays, they kept me informed of delays which is nice to know. I had a couch show up that was damaged but Miriam/Maryam, excuse my spelling, made sure a very fair exchange was made. No beating around the bush, she took care of it plain and simple. Purchased a custom sofa. Huge selection of sofas available on the floor, all customizable in different levels of cushion firmness and at least 100 different materials. Very friendly staff that gave us advice and patiently helped us choose the exact sofa we wanted, even staying after store closing to finish the transaction. Also only a $100 shipping rate to deliver the sofa 200km away (compared to a $250 shipping rate at Ashley's across the street).

She answered all my questions and was very helpful with measurements and colour choices. Very clean and spacious show room. With so many options you won’t have a hard time finding something that suits your taste. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the sales person was with me the whole way with a positive and suggesting attitude. Very pleasant experience. Happy to have bought furniture here. I would definitely recommend to friends. 4 star because it’s way over priced but other wise it’s a 5 star experience.

Had a good experience tonight. Spent a long time with the sales person who was attentive to our wants and needs. He was very patient with us not knowing what we wanted. We bought a nice piece, looking forward to installing it. Our kids were so annoying while we were there, but the staff didn't seem to mind and were really good about it. Selection is great, but it can be overwhelming. Good staff makes all the difference.

I had a very satisfying experience at Upper Room with Myriam. She was so helpful and cooperative. She helped us to go through different sofas’designs and to make our mind towards the best fit. We were at the Upper Room to look for a table and chairs for an upcoming renovation. We had the pleasure of working with the sales associate Jane. Jane was extremely professional and knowledgeable in the products she showed us. She took the time to understand what we were looking for and helped us to come to a decision we are very pleased with. Excellent service from the Upper Room Home Furnishings, as usual. We have purchased furniture from them before. The salesman who helped us (I don't have his name) this time was knowledgeable about the high end recliner product line, was skillful in helping my husband make a decision, and he and the manager were very helpful in organizing the deal so that it the whole package could arrive when we needed it.

I have attempted numerous times to get a hold of their warranty department. We invested in great furniture with a 5 year warranty. I am trying to get a reimbursement on my warranty to which we were told was refundable anytime. The person working in this department is aware I have been trying to get a hold of her. She will not return my calls. Will still not return calls regardless of the note made below.

This weekend we went to the Upper Room Home Furniture store to buy a tv stand. We had been to 4 different stores that day and received terrible customer service. Daniel at the Upper Room was amazing! He was knowledgeable about interior design, gave us some options after listening to us describe what our home style was, and we ended up leaving with a beautiful piece. Highly recommend this furniture store!

Had a wonderful experience our salesperson Caitlyn was very accommodating and helpful. I asked to move coffee tables to be able to see what they would look like beside a particular sofa and love seat to help me make my decision. She was very pleasant and said it was no bother to help do what we needed for me to make my decision. She was also very friendly and bubbly. Good experience overall.

Great selection, we loved coming to a store and feeling like we could trust that everything was incredibly high quality and durable. Staff were exceptional, incredibly helpful without ever hovering or being pushy. Visited the Hunt Club showroom today for a recliner I was met by a knowledgeable and pleasant salesperson/designer Dona . She showed me numerous selections and allowed me the time to try out different chairs with no pressure . She asked relevant questions and helped me towards the best chair for my needs . HIghly recommend URHF and Dona for your next furnishings purchase .

Outstanding store with great customer service! Highly recommend. Quality furniture that will last. Also love their warranty program as I have a toddler in the house. Quick update - just ordered two more couches! Great sales and salespeople. I have worked with Jane several times now and she is fantastic and so helpful! It is the only place in Ottawa I will go for couches :)

I am so excited for my new sofa to arrive. I was looking for a unique size and colour. The options at Upper Room are impressive. The staff were attentive and friendly without hovering. Miriam made the process smooth and easy. This was my first time purchasing at Upper Room. I will definitely make it my first go-to for any furniture needs. It was a pleasure shopping there!

We bought a leather chair and were sold on extra warranty that would cover clean up. DONT BUY EXTRA WARRANTY. They took close to 700 dollars for warranty and after 2 months no service being provided and its not store problem because they don't deal with it... The samething I asked when buying. Now we are trying to get refund for extra warranty. Horrible customer service.

Great staffs, very accommodative. I had bought a lovely breakfast table, but it was too big for my new home. Even though there is no refund policy, the manager graciously agreed to exchange for store credit. But not long after, I had to relocate elsewhere for another job. The store manager agreed to refund me the store credit when I asked. Will recommend and buy again.

Warranty service is terrible. We filed a claim in Feb 2022, it is now July 2022, and our issue is not resolved. We have been trying to get answers from Upper Room for months with no success. Stay away from these guys. Their after sales service is terrible. They put in a lot of effort and are very friendly during the sales process but terrible after the sale is made.

We looked everywhere for the perfect couches. Must of done 6 to 8 furniture stores but everything looked similar or was overpriced. Our last stop was Upper Room and we found the perfect couch at a great price. The customer service was great. No pressure tactics and friendly and informative service. Would recommend to anyone and will come back for future purchases.

We had a very positive experience! We have visited Upper room multiple times in the last 2 weeks and all salespeople were very helpful, friendly and professional. They offered to help but allowed us to browse without hovering. We finally selected a loveseat and sofa that we loved and haven't seen any where else. We are looking forward to having it in our house.

Staff were very helpful, they listened carefully to what we wanted as well as offering their own suggestions. Communication about timelines was prompt and accurate. The couch we bought looks really nice, is very comfortable and is of very good quality. It was a very pleasant experience from start to finish, and I would definitely buy from Upper Room again.

Visited the the Hunt Club location looking for a particular chair. I was greeted by Kenan, Customer Service Representative who was pleasant and professional. She was knowledgeable, detailed and accommodating. In addition, the manager was extremely helpful as well. Great staff. I left the store very contented. So looking forward to receiving my new chair.

It was a very pleasant experience buying furniture at Upper Room. A broad selection of furniture on the floor. Our salesperson, Jessica, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the products. She gave my wife and me lots of breathing space to explore and try things out, but was always available when we needed to ask a question. I definitely would repeat.
