The shopping centre is quite convenient, especially near the hospital, banks, bus station and other big shops such as Target. BUT! There is a curry restaurant right near thr David's Noodle, which is the WORST CURRY EVER I had. And the worst one in Tassie, too! I ordered a curry chicken and asked the owner if I could buy a dish with both beef and chicken. She said yes. Instead of paying $15, I need to pay $24. So I paid $15 only for chicken curry+ rice at the end. When she heard I was not going to pay $24, she gave me almost only curry soup with 2 small pieces of chicken meat inside (each about 2cm big). She tried to give me as little as she could. I didn't say anything when I saw she only took the soup. Because every restaurant is different. But, I told her I have a child, please DON'T give me the spicy chicken. She confirmed twice and at the end still gave me the super spicy one. After going back home, my boy refused to eat, then I realised she gave me the wrong one. And the worse thing is, my husband ordered a same size with only vegi curry soup and only rice. Totally we paid $60. I can't believe he paid $45 only for a small box of rice and half box of vegi soup. The charge is definitely wrong too. I can't really say this is CHEATING. But I can't really say this is right too. I am thinking complaining to some department of government and let her maybe have a holiday. The curry in the Wellington Centre compared with the one near the Artry is hell and heaven. If you have money and some money only for one meal. Make sure you don't go there!!!---If you don't want to be cheated. That place changed owner. And this new one is TERRIBLE.

Sept 2022: The Wellington Centre is slowly developing and growing some semblance of a soul. It is still however very bland with little to no imagination by way of design and/or artistic or architectural appeal. Shops are developing and this location is fast becoming a food hall, which may actually be it's saviour. Now, we only need the management to allow the new food and beverage outlets the ability to have tables and chairs in the walkways. Maybe one day. 2018: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hobart's "Newest" shopping mall is starting to find it's feet. Obviously the main drawcard for foot traffic is the Woolworths in the basement, however the local Sushi place offers a great range of Japanese food with a smile. There's also a bottle shop, other food outlets and a chemist. The Wellington Centre has definitely added to the shopping experience of Hobart.

Wellington walk is regularly full of bogans smoking, or the unfortunate homeless looking for somewhere quiet to rest. The shopping centre is OK and Argyle St car park is above, which provides the best parking in Hobart IMHO as the spaces are a generous size and there is nearly always a spot to park. However Wellington Walk has become a real mess, which often feels uninviting, especially when travelling with your children.

Nice place for lunch (Jamaican Mist) but the whole of Wellington Centre is made unbearable by loud "music", the only sound being the thud thud thud of loud bass. What point is there, when no actual music is audible? Please consider children and adults with hearing loss, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder etc. Is the noise designed to keep people rushing through? I certainly won't return.

It is a good place to go, when you have a medical appointment is mostly next door then you can go and have a shop in the arcade for just about anything. The food every where is good all be it a bit priceie at places but you do get what you pay for. You can go to the basement and do grocery shopping as well, over all a good place to visit.

  • Steve Smith

Its okay, but you get the dreggs of the courthouse and hospital nearby shuffling through it, screaming at Shanaya and Darren and you might get shanked. Its a new centre but its very cold and grubby looking after only a few years of use. Wind whistles in all the automatic doors and bogans mill about. It wasn't well thought out.

  • Fontaine Mullins

Lots of food options, Sush sushi is a fave! Everything is conveniently located. Pharmacy, newsagent, supermarket, bottle shop, HEAPS of food options. Parking is a pain in the backside. The only public transport to Hobart is by bus or taxi. So most people use the Argyle Street carpark. It's a terrible carpark.

  • Elizabeth Dwyer

A little slow at times to get car park (some drivers don't move on till space is actually vacant). Easy access to Wellington clinics via level three and airbridge - signage in lifts could improve this. Nice open access to Cafe's and other businesses. Always clean. Additional toilets for ladies please.

  • M Ar

Good shops and plenty of dining options here like Japanese and other Asian cuisine, Wester food, etc. Parking can be tricky but we often come here as it's close to our fave Argyle St. Parking lot. It is close enough to other stores like Target, Cotton on, Rivers, Chemist Warehouse, etc.

  • Ian Potter

The Wellington Centre has a range of different food outlets plus other specially stores but I think it's best feature is the full sized Woolworths supermarket that allows CBD workers and residents to get everything they need as well as travellers getting the essentials too.

  • Amber Nicholson

Used the carpark here to go to the Wellington medical centre, makes it really easy to access. Good food takeaway choices here in the mall, with a chemist, bottleshop and public toilets also. Great central access to many other stores too. Parking is reasonably priced.

  • Guinevere Wolf

Neither of the ticket machines worked! One near the lifts would take tickets and the other would not accept cards to pay. Pressed the button to talk to the guy at the desk and was met with nothing but condescension and rudeness. Go park on the domain instead.

  • Chris Mayne

This is a nice little centre for food/coffee and Woolworths amonga couple of other little things in the CBD. Upstairs is 11 more levels, all of which are devoted to clinics, pathology, pharmacy and other Royal Hobart Hospital related specialists and services.

  • Walter van Praag

Nice modern and relatively new complex with Woolworths supermarket downstairs. Good bottleshop, pharmacy/chemist/cafes.... And clean and well maintained toilets. Right next door to the argyle street carpark and a stone throw from the Royal Hobart Hospital.

  • Mark Hayden

great shopping mall many people have told me to go there I went there yesterday and there were so many shops only that there was an information section who gave me directions as to the shops I need to go most would definitely recommend going to this place

  • Kıvanç Dalgıç

It's the one of the best place you can find everything what you are looking for.a lot nice Asian restaurant and international restaurants. All over cover with high quality shop which you were looking for Gucci Channel Rolex shop and etc.... Enjoy it

  • Noel Brodribb

Quite busy. A few businesses have closed due to the pandemic. Parking spaces were hard to get, level 6 was the first vacancy. Lift access from the ground floor was difficult, many people waiting and only 2 people allowed in at each journey.

  • Keero

Depending on what you're there for, service can be incredibly slow, but I suppose that's common for any sort of public health service. Apart from that, the doctors and nurses know what they're doing and are usually quite friendly.

  • Wayne Cockerall

Tried to find Safeway there. Signals really poor but eventually a,security guard told me it was in the basement level. One think I did like about the Hobart shopping area was the great vinyl record shop, its really worth a look

  • Jane Rose

No option for stairs.. There isn't even any stairs there ONLY option to take elevator. Not great for anyone who has a fear of small spaces and/or elevators. People literally cram in the elevators so you can't even move.

  • PETER ROOKE

Specialist royal hobart hospital services . So busy . The background work is huge . Just wish we could keep specialists for more than 3-6 month rotation . Still better by miles that hbt private .

  • Geoffrey Dudley

Views are amazing of course so Wellington Centre gets 5*. the tourist that have no idea how to conduct themselves get 0*. Its not hard remembering you're in public people and sharing a space.

  • Juddy Franks

The absolute most amazing staff/security member who helped me in every way possible with my insane fear of heights when my appointment was on the 9th floor. Cannot thank you enough …

  • Roslyn Pallister

I love the quirkyness of the little by ways and lane ways and some very different little shops to browze and buy something different for someone you just got to be prepared to wander and look

  • Seamus Erin

Arcade with eateries, cafes,Woolworths market underneath & a thoroughfare from Elizabeth mall to Argyle St & multistorey carpark. Also rest rooms including baby change & disability room.

  • Blair Darby

Running extremely late for our latest appointment due to accident. Thought we would be turned away, but seen us no problem. I was pleasantly surprised for them to be quiet understanding

  • Helen

Under Argyle St carpark. Great choice of shops and food outlets I have used, and next to Elizabeth St mall shops. Parking convenience makes the shopping experience always enjoyable

  • Freddie Jazmin

It is a quiet shopping mall compared to Melbourne Shopping Malls. You can find some of the basic brands and do not expect any premium products as Hobart is a holiday destination.

  • Tim Ayers

An arcade full of little independent shops that really appreciate & need the support of shoppers. Some amazing shops tucked away in there especially the chocolate and lolly shop.

  • Gracie Patten

Nice little area. More seating needed in main thoroughfare. Saw an elderly couple needing to sit but nothing really available inside unless they purchased something...

  • Georgia
