"Hidden gem that has one of the best dog parks"
"Due to my dog's nature, I can't use this park anymore, but that isn't the park's fault! (Well"
"Okay dog park"
"Water fountain, plenty of room to run, picnic benches under the heaviest shade and OH YEAH THE 0"
"Park was nice all animals nice except for one brownish mange looking pup that would run behind all the other dogs and take out a back leg then get on top of them and didnt seem so much as friendly play and then when anyone tried to give their dogs water the same dog would come up and put his front paws in the bucket and fill it with dirt as the owner would come over to stop him it was just annoying"
Hidden gem that has one of the best dog parks. Clean with lots of space, trees and parking. Inside the dog park, a neat walking path is off to the side for you and your leashed dogs. It's gated and the path winds through lots of trees. It is kept clean and sand added to the path when necessary. There is also a busy enclosed outdoor basketball court, with a picnic table and more parking. There is a very small children's playground area with a multiactivity piece of playground equipment. Suitable for young children aged 3 - 10. One picnic table is there, and a few benches nearby. The whole park is spread out nicely so kids playground area is safely separated from any excited dogs coming and going to dog park. Several garbage receptacles to dispose of trash are near each of these areas. I've not seen any overflowing, and this park is very well maintained!! Pictures will be posted asap.
Due to my dog's nature, I can't use this park anymore, but that isn't the park's fault! (Well... except that, maybe, they could have a separate section for small dogs...? maybe?) This park is pretty nice, as dog parks go. There's an area for owners to sit and be social, if they want to. There's also the walking trail, which can be super muddy and buggy. I suppose that, during the drier, colder months, the trail would be awesome! I found that the owners, for the most part, are friendly. There was one who was just insane. He kicked my dog, chased him and threatened to bash both the dog's and my skull in with a rock. Again, not the park's fault. Crazy can find you anywhere you go.
Okay dog park. Only visited in the morning and early afternoon. Most dog owners follow rules but some don't read the visitor responsibilities. So, there might be a puppy too young visiting or a kid under 10 years old here and there. Someone brought a dog-aggressive dog and kept him on a leash in the park; he really should have stayed home or walked somewhere else or place a muzzle on the dog. A few dog owners don't pick up after their dog, which is annoying. Haven't visited the off-leash park yet. Haven't had any problems yet but I kinda wish there was a number to call posted somewhere in case there was a problem with other dog owners.
Water fountain, plenty of room to run, picnic benches under the heaviest shade and OH YEAH THE 0.35mi OF MULCHED TRAILS IN FENCED WOODS. This park does not have separate areas for large and small dogs. The whole park is fenced but if your dog's a jumper the fences probably aren't high enough (same fencing as horse farms) Does your dog play well with other dogs? Does your dog need to run zoomies through the underbrush? Bring your dog here. Does your dog "sometimes" become "aggressive" or "a jerk"? Go to a trainer because nobody likes dog fights & this park is too awesome to ruin.
Park was nice all animals nice except for one brownish mange looking pup that would run behind all the other dogs and take out a back leg then get on top of them and didnt seem so much as friendly play and then when anyone tried to give their dogs water the same dog would come up and put his front paws in the bucket and fill it with dirt as the owner would come over to stop him it was just annoying. On the other hand my 2 babies had a blast on the trail in the woods and all the other fur babies there were delightful.
My dog Lucio has quickly learned to love this place and has even managed to make good friends with the majority of other dogs at the park. I have only visited durning the morning hours due to work but every visit has been pleasant. I do hear however that the park gets crazy towards the afternoons but for the most part the park is well maintained and as long as you don't mind the occasional dog lick or jump you'll be fine.
This park is an absolute find. Large dog park with a shaded area for humans and a hug grassy open area. The best part... connected to the inside of the dog park is another dog park! A 1/3 mile loop through the woods totally fenced. My dog loves loves the woods and gives you respite if there's an overly playful doggo in the open area. Best park for dogs on this side of Nashville.
Have brought my dog there several times. It is always fun. Places for people to sit, lots of room for the dogs to run in . We have gone into the other section which is a wooded hilly section for the dogs to run free and just be a dog... that is great but there's also times when you cannot see your dog if he's running around with others. A little hard to get used to for me
Used to LOVE this park - it had a separate looped trail that was fenced in to let the dogs run in the woods off leash but it’s CLOSED. Would have preferred a “use at your own risk” instead of “closed due to mud” but sadly the park is not worth the trip anymore. The rest of the park is still nice enough but the best part is gone
Dog park is definitely the highlight here. Basketball court was average some of the goals were slightly crooked but thats almost to be expected. Definitely not the worst ive ever seen. Enjoyed 5 or so games on a Sunday 3v3 and 4v4 ... couldn't really ask for any better than that. Park was clean as could be. I'll be returning.
Tried to take my pup to the bark park but had to leave. It would be great if the bark park was divided for larger and smaller dogs. Mine was approached by three larger dogs and one tried to bite at my dog as I tried to leave with him. We didn't get to go to the dog park but did walk around so it wasn't a total waste.
Our favorite dog park!!! It is double gated; well fenced, shady; has water for dogs and humans, lots of benches, and a lovely fenced in trail so you can walk with your dog off leash. The other dog owners who were there were all friendly and kept an eye on their pups. We will definitely visit again soon!
Awesome dog park! Large area with lots of shade and benches, but the best part is the separate (well fenced) trails that wind through the woods! The dogs love exploring off leash and i dont have to worry when they disappear behind all the trees and underbrush. I highly recommend everyone check it out.
Not the same. I remember plenty of good times here for birthday parties and just daily play as a child. The famous playground has been downsized. They've added a dog park. They did have some baseball games going on today. Just seems like they've made it to suit just a group of people.
Beautiful dog park with lots of trees and new things for ZIGGY to "sniff." My only issue is there is no separation for big dogs and smaller dogs, and there were a few incidents where owners were slow in calling out aggressive behaviors. But all in all, a great place for ZIGGY.
Nice park, plenty of room to run and there's a trail. They have a water fountain for the dogs and provide mitts for clean up. My only complaint is that they've put down rock dust under the trees and I'm concerned about the dogs breathing it on a dry day.
Great place to let your dogs run around; there's a fenced-in trail on the back end of the park that gives dogs a chance to experience varied terrain and woodland surroundings, but it's not in great condition. Wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy!
It's okay. The dog park seems like a great addition, but I have no dogs unfortunately. The maintenance guy does his best to keep the park clean, but there's paraphernalia and adult items everywhere at times and dog owners that venture
We visit the park about once a month for a little exercise and socialization. The fenced-in portion of the dog park is very large and perfect for dogs who like to run. There's also a group of trees that provides shade over some of the
The dog park is great, the enclosed hiking path was a total perk. Lots of shade and benches. However, the parking isn't great and it didn't appear to have bathrooms. Besides that it's been our favorite place in the area for our dogs.
The dog park itself is great but BE ON ALERT. A car was broken into today within an hour of arriving to the park. The robber broke the cars passenger window out and stole the owners purse all without anyone at the park noticing!!!
Nice clean park. My only complaint is the children’s playground could use a play area for smaller children. The play area is geared towards 5 and up, so the smaller children don’t have a lot to do. Otherwise, is a great park.
The dog park is very spacious and pretty clean. There is grass, fine gravel, and trees for shade. There is also a 0.35 mile walking trail through the woods--all fenced in, so you can walk with your dog off-leash.
Park closes at dusk. I just got stopped by the cops trying to explain to him that it says the park closes at 9pm online. I was exiting the hiking trail. Got lost and it got dark. Still a beautiful park and trail.
Park is nice. People dont watch their dogs most of the time or an aggressive dog isn't handled properly. 1 out 5 trips there some dog is attacking another while the owner is talking on the phone or with someone.
By far the BEST dog park in Nashville, seriously. While some dog parks have seperate areas for different sized dogs, William A. Pitts has a fenced hiking trail you and your furry friends can walk together!
Wonderful park, lots of friendly patrons and several options for your adventures with your pup. They have a really nice wooded party as well as a large shady enclosed area to let the pups run and play A++
Nice well kept area. This is a dog park Park. I dont own a dog but the dogs I see seem to really enjoy themselves. Seems like a dog social event with a little exercise on the side. Ball court/picknic.
Small playground with 2 slides at top of hill. Climbing bars and ect. but no swings.
Restrooms
Nearby softball field with restrooms but they could be unless a game is in progress
Every human is friendly! There's lots fun for dogs! Also has a nice fenced in walking trail in the tree line !! Very relaxing!! Love all the dogs here & humans too!! ❤ …
even though the trail was closed due to 'unsafe conditions', we watched our kid catch fireflies across the street from the baseball field in a treed green. we saw SO MANY of them light up!
Great place to take your pet and to be off-leash. Has a fenced in walking trail that any dog would go crazy for exploring. Mine came across a bigger version of himself (Irish Wolfhound)
Good for a Dog Park, and for sports, but the kids area is sad and unattended... Also this park has more reputation for drug dealers and junkies after dark...so Enjoy?!?
Quite with plenty of shade to relax in while your dogs play at the dog park or enjoy the playground, without the worry of the slides and swings being to hot to enjoy.
Well kept dog park with a shaded benches area for people, and a water fountain for dogs to drink from. Plenty of room for dogs to run also. Parking is limited though
Small quiet little park at the top of a hill. The park closes at 6 though and they will send someone around to loudly announce that you need to get out of the park.
Love this dog park. But be careful about where you park. Make sure there are no visible things of worth in your car or you may come back to a busted window.
It was a cool spot until the Park Ranger came harassing us for no reason. Other than that it was all fun& games. Until next time I enjoyed the environment .
Great dog park with a dog trail. Basketball court and mediocre playground. Watch out for poison ivy off the trail or along the wood line by the playground!
Love taking our sweet girl here. She always loves it. Most of the time other dogs are friendly. Some owners don’t monitor there dogs but that’s expected.
Dog park was nice. Baseball field was very playable. Lots of parking and there is even a playground by the baseball field for younger kids to play on.
Lovely dog park on the hill w nature trails connecting to it.
Dog-friendliness
Lovely dog park on the hill w nature trails connecting to it.
The gated trail is awesome for my hound dog. Everyone is nice and it's not too crowded, I feel comfortable just letting the dog roam around.
This park also has a Dog Park, which is not in the description.. Plenty of friendly people and dogs. Huge area for them to run and play!!
Very nice dog park with a separate area for a little off leash hike. Thank you Nashville, for creating and maintaining such a fun park!
It has an awesome dog park and so much room for kids to play and run you don't have to have a fun land center to enjoy the outdoors!!!
Locks public restrooms, even the porta potties behind a gate in the baseball area. Good private area to eat and let the kids play
My dogs have more fun here than any other dog park I've ever been. Lots of shade so very good for hairy doggies on warmer day.
Love the fenced in area. I have I agressive dog, had to keep her restrained. But my other dog ran and played with the others..
Fun for all can be found here. Dog park, basketball, football, baseball/softball, and a small playground and walking trail.
I love this dog park, decently sized but not so big you lose your dog. Always a great time for me and my dogs here
Great park just by itself, but theres additional fenced in trails that you can take your do on that are superb .
Quiet place with not very many amenities does have a dog park and baseball diamond picnic table and a play area.
It was a little muddy today after all of the rain especially in the wooded area. But my dog loved it as always.
Nice playground for the kids. I don't have a dog but the dog park looks good and lots of people use it.
Great separately fenced wooded hiking trail, in addition to large open area, plus benches in the shade.
My terrier loves the fenced wooded trail. Let's love on Metro Parks and ask for some more mulch :)
Our dogs love to have the space to run around with other dogs. The park is fairly well maintained.
Good place for exercise, kids, basketball, baseball, picnic, or just relaxing and reading a book.
Great park early in the day. The park is clean and wide open. The trails in the back are great.
Good for dogs. The playground could be better for kids and shade. Great for walking exercises.
Love to bring my dog here! I make tons of friends and it's a good place to meet people too.
Very nice dog park with a pretty decent hiking trail out back that dogs are welcome on.
One of the best Nashville dog parks. Plenty of green space and pup friendly utilities.
Maybe the best dog park in Nashville. The fenced in off leash wooded trail is a gem.
Great dog park that includes a inclosed wooded trail where dogs can run off leashes
Basic ball field, but in desperate need of something more than a portable toilet.
Nice short fenced in forested walking trail on one side of the park. Great idea!
Great park! Nice people and dogs. I just wish there was an area for small dogs.
A little work down but plenty to keep little ones occupied and a nice dog park.
Nice park with shade trees and benches to sit! It even has a trail to explore!
They have a gated trail....amazing. Friendly dog loving crowd always at park.
Walked the trail today when i got home my dog had two ticks so check your pet
I love that the trail is fenced in. My husky gets worn out after 2 circles.
Its a nice and quiet park. Theres a baseball diamond and basketball courts.
Love how they have a hiking trail for your dog that's also fenced in.
The dog park was wondeful. Lots of dogs and people to socialize with.
I've always loved this park, now with the dog park it's even better.
Fairly well kept but really love the fenced in trail in the back!
What a nice place to go for a walk with your pet or by your self.
First time very impressive. The people were nice and friendly.
Good till cops called for shooting a movie with air soft guns
Love the dog park here. Having a off leash trail is genius!
Its really a Dog Park. The childrens park isnt much fun..
Pretty decent walking trail. Not many around so it'll do.
Very large park with a great off leash walking trail.
No bathrooms, concession stand didn't have anything..
Great dog park! Very community oriented and friendly
Amazing dog park, I go all the time with my pup!
Great off leash trail, about a quarter mile loop
It was alot of land and my dog had a great time
Good place to take your dog (s),friendly area!
Haven't been here in yrs. I love it out here!!
Awesome for dogs and walkinh trial fenced in
Be wary, people bring small aggressive dogs
Great dog park with a pooch water fountain
