"My first time here"
"It's is filled with people trying to sell you time shares, which makes it rather annoying and when you do give them your time they request to take you to their store so that you can listen go an hour long presentation on why you should buy their time share and it's more than one company doing this"
"You actually feel safe around this area"
"The aquarium is amazing, however, the seal and Dolphin shows were not worth the money spent"
"Absolutely stunning, and very neat"
My first time here. It was a good experience, but I would not go again. We went on the walk to the beach, and all the places where you can buy from and the restaurants seemed great. There were a lot of people just sitting around or standing around which made me feel uncomfortable. When we got to the beach it was littered and very busy. We still went for a swim though, but after the swim to wash of the salt, the showers werent working and it smelled terrible. The place could use some care to spruce it up again
It's is filled with people trying to sell you time shares, which makes it rather annoying and when you do give them your time they request to take you to their store so that you can listen go an hour long presentation on why you should buy their time share and it's more than one company doing this. Outside of this, it is still s great place but it was affected by the floods which they have been trying to sort everything out and have the entire place running like before
You actually feel safe around this area. If you're hungry restaurants are 2 minutes away, parking is safe and is about 5 minutes away. You have an option of allowing your kids to play in the swimming pools while you'rebusy entertained by a Dj. You'll meet local entertainers and artists who will amuse you constantly. Shaka Marine World which is full life interesting real animals view is about 7 minutes away. It is always difficult to leave this area.
The aquarium is amazing, however, the seal and Dolphin shows were not worth the money spent. This used to be an amazing attraction but now the trainers and animals are limited in what they do and the show itself is very brief. Much of the time is spent educating people about conservation. The trainers need to polish up their delivery of their talks. Rather go to the aquarium only and avoid the seal and Dolphin shows.
Absolutely stunning, and very neat. Great place to relax, and enjoy the great food at all the nice restaurants, at days even live music playing. We visited the 5D cinema, the dangerous creatures exhibit, kids got some funky tattoos, and did some shopping. Wish there were more a variety of other shops or a quick supermarket for necessities, but overall from Namibia it was a great experience.
Interesting, Always a great ambiance and atmosphere... Surprisingly good bargins for shoppers... Always something to see, do or plan on coming back and doing. Keep up the good work Guys. You've become a local favorite as well as tourist. I have some ideas... On some fresh open entertainment... Radio and your own media outlet .... Jus an ad on ppls weather can attract or appeal to many ...
Best place to unwind and distress after a long week of stress. What I've noticed the most is that many people living 8m Durban and surrounding areas don't want to visit areas like Ushaka Marine because they don't really have reasons to, but these place is one of the best destinations of Ethekwini, you won't regret visiting it. It very cheap as well.
A bit on the tatty side Everything looked below average A big selection of goods in a big selection of shops that all looked like they were lacking customers A very long walk from the main entrance down to the cargo hold restaurant Only discovered at the restaurant that there was closer parking I am 85 and use a cane and this long trip was hell
Great places with a lots of activities to do for a family from adult to child friendly activity. Zip line , scooper dive, shark tank or cage , aquarium, slides , dolphin show and penguins , reptile show restaurants , the beach promonade damn I can keep going there is just too much to do. One day is not enough to cover it all.
Was a bit disappointed to say the least. There is no control over social distancing. No discipline and nobody comes and check the lines for the ticket booth for the Aquarium. We ended up in an argument with other people in line because they were literally standing on top of us. Not was it used to be...Ushaka..
Nice strip mall with an unusual assortment of shops. Not your average strip mall variety. More targeted for tourist with African style trinkets ect. Be careful of pricing. Lots of food available. Atm's available for most banks. Can find a costume or towel if needed to enjoy the beach or uShaka.
Well worth the visit. Aquarium is informative with staff that are truly committed to informing us on the threat we place on our sea life. Big pity is that the entrance fee is so high, this means that those who should be educated about the harm caused are not exposed to this excellent facility.
Great for holiday makers, brings together curio shopping that also caters for local shoppers i.e. budget buys. Offers a large variety of restaurant choices, sure to have something for everyone, lots of tourist info on things to do. Access to beach front, can keep kids entertained for the day.
I've been going to uShaka since it opened, my timeline recorded me traveling to uShaka's village walk 3 times in one day which goes to show how great it is. Great shops, tons of entertainment, fun for the whole family. It's an absolute pleasure spending time here ☺️ …
Definitely a great family experience. If you are going to do every single activity, a 2 day visit will do it justice and you get to enjoy the activities. Snorkeling and the sea walk will live in my memories forever. The aquarium is impressive, informative and stunning set up.
Family orientated, fun place to be, lots of entertainment, on beach front! A must go place! Meet awesome people! Lots to see! Lots to do! Or just chill! Toilets needs to be cleaned properly though(some of toilet walls have suspicious 'dirt'(germs) otherwise fun, fun, fun)
Very convenient family getaway, and to exhaust yourself and children with the lovely views from the beach♀️♂️ and adventures activities from 'Wet n wild' Water slides♂️♀️ (Adults(13+) R190, Children (3-12) R154, Seniors (61+)
In the past 10 years I have spent 7 of my birthdays there. More particularly at Ushaka Marine World. It's the BEST place in the world! So much to do. Unlimited fun and super friendly staff! I'll go there over and over and over again.
Still a super dooper spot to wander down and pick up a touristy trinket or lovely African handmade object d'art or leather goods, have a nice brekkie or brunch or lunch, safe parking, safe for the kiddos, lots of retail shopping
Its all part of the Ushaka Marine experience... loads of little shops offering different goodies... different fast food outlets... its safe and has tons of parking... great for tourists and locals alike... all good.
Awesome place for tourists and families. Great fun for all and has all sorts of food and entertainment. Close to the promenade and beach as well as the aquarium you won't regret bringing your family here.
Shaka village is in South beach of Durban, There are small businesses selling cultural items. Restaurants are available, ATM,places for massages, food court which is a big sank ship which is tourist site.
Always a pleasure. Parking, ablution, food for all tastes, a t m s avb. ♂️. See reptiles, dolphins, shark cage, sparkle with fish. Trained staff to assist first timers. Spend the day , enjoy. …
Fun filled facility that requires a full day visit, even though that might not be enough still. Bring your friends and/or family to enjoy your day to the fullest. I enjoyed the ocean walk the most.
The most amazing place to visit with family an friends especially if you here on vacation...theres multiple shops an dining places available here..an theres beautiful views an fun stuff to do here
A beautiful walk along the promenade with amazing views across the bay of the soccer stadium Moses Mabhida & the Bluff. The uShaka center with all the restaurants & shops made for a pleasant day
I enjoyed walking through there, but wish the take aways opened earlier. We go walking along the promenade and would like to be able to go for breakfast afterwards. But not many places are open
It was nice considering the pandemic. Stores kept to their rules about masks but the shoppers were another story. Didn't feel safe because of that. Good side is that it's an open air mall.
Surrounded by family entertainment facilities like Ushaka Marine. Nice food around. I was lucky to meet a traditional zulu dance show in the open square, it so amazing. I love this place.
Renovations being undertaken so it's a bit muddling, but a pleasant walk through. This morning there was entertainment in the form of Zulu dancers accompanied by drums. Really enjoyable.
Had an opportunity to experience being drawn by henna, I was excited and the Indian lady who drew me was very friendly. I would definitely go back for more drawings when visiting Durban

Love the new AfriCrafters Craft Market. Watch as crafters make magic with their wire designs. Tailored African garments and handmade jewellery. Well worth a vist!
Relaxed peaceful and tranquil waves.. love the setup. The view is amazing and makes for great photography. The live band at the restaurant also adds to the vibe.
Universal is the best way to describe this place. It has everything to make a great outing for thinkers, couples, friends, family. The water just calls to you.
Great place to go for a family stroll, get a bite to eat or to do some casual shopping. The vibe is buzzing on weekends. One the better places to go in Durban

Lovely little gift shops , take aways and restaurants along the walk to grab a bit or a gift if you're visiting from out of town
It offers everything you might need for a day at the beach. We had some ice cream while browsing looking for perfect souvenirs.
Live entertainment with buskers and zulu dancers. Lovely novelty shops. Had a henna tattoo done ..it took 3minutes to complete.
It is perfect for people of all ages. The restaurant by the beach where you see sharks and fishes underneath is just amazing.
A great place to take the family on outings. Good food and lots to see in the stores. No dogs allowed in the village though.
I enjoyed every moment of it all de way from limpopo in small township called phalaborwa boom u shaka heaven on earth
Great variety of little shops. All of the big family restaurants. You could easily loose 3 hours scrounching around.

Clean and neat, not crowded but have a lovely environment full of people excited and laughing
Still lovely. Great 4 the kids. Not as lovely as when it opened, neat some kind of uplifting
