I have just had the worse experience ever in this place. I ordered a hot chocolate and a latte coffee and I was charged €5. They were quick enough to take my money but the service I received was aggressive and disgusting to say the least. The red haired girl who made the drinks handed me a cold hot chocolate and a cold latte coffee, I immediately handed them back explained they were cold and I asked if I couldI get them heated. What happened next was shocking appalling and the worst customer service I have ever received. The red haired girl shouted at me saying ‘did you ask for them to be hot?’ ‘You did not ask they are hot and you got what you asked for’. I was in shock at such appalling behavior, the girl was actually shouting at me from across the counter. I asked to speak to the manager a woman who just didn’t want to cause a scene and she put it down to a miscommunication saying she was from down the country and she didn’t understand. This statement alone is highly insulting to every Irish person who is from outside Dublin. I work In customer service and I would never ever treat someone the way I was treated in this Cafe. I asked for a refund of my money and received 4.75 euro so I was short 25 cents. I have never been to this cafe before and I will never go again and I strongly recommend not going near this place. The red haired girl serving at the coffee counter is not fit to do her job, she has no social skills or customer relation skills and she has an awful attitude. I think this place needs to rethink the staff they have working there as they have now lost customers and I will make sure to not recommend this place to anyone as I live locally in the area

Eh, a 4.4 * average...?! Obviously the majority of these reviewers’ experiences drew on the wines, sandwich/panini selection, location and service - all of which are quite good. The salad I had the misfortune to order was not. Weighing in at €12.95 this contraption of a ‘Tuna and bean’ salad comprised a scattering of out of the packet mixed leaves (with a faint whiff of passed their sell-by date), a couple of slices of cucumber, quartered tomato and boiled egg, a smattering of tinned kidney beans and chick peas, and to top it all, wait for it, two thirds of a tin of tuna which looked like it landed on the aforementioned from a height. All of which equated to a massive underwhelm and a sparkling lack of imagination on the part of the kitchen. Perhaps it was in honour of the last papal visit as overall it smacked of 1979 Ireland - I should have been looking for a glass of Blue Nun on the wine list

Nope I won't be back here again after today's experience. Staff refused to allow us order actual items on the menu because they were in the 'additional options' section which they decided is only for adding on to an existing plate of food. A friend didn't want the bacon and hollandaise that accompanied the poached eggs so she opted for toast and butter and a poached egg from the additional options. They point blank refused, both waiting staff and kitchen staff. So the alternative was supposed to be pay almost €12 for an egg and leave the remaining ingredients uneaten. Sharp practice at its worst. So my friend just ordered toast. Cafe was cold...no heating on, place was almost empty which I've never seen before but now I know why. I'll spend my money elsewhere where staff will not refuse to serve what's actually on their menu.

We brought an elderly relative for a Christmas breakfast for old times sake as it was his late wife’s favourite place. There was six in our party…4 arrived at 11:40…the other 2 were delayed in traffic. We had to ask to be served coffee and were never given menus. At 11:55 we asked for menus as we knew breakfast ended at 12:00. The remaining two arrived at 11:58…and we were told breakfast was finished. When we protested about this and explained we were there since 11:40 - we were abruptly told “well they weren’t”, as he pointed to our friends. The lack of willingness to do breakfast for us, especially our 86 year old relative, was so rude and showed a total lack of customer care.

  • Nicola Curry

One staff member is very unprofessional and rude. The girl with the red hair making the hot drinks is not competent in her job and has no people skills. Her manner is aggressive and hostile and when challenged about one of the drinks she made that was cold she became very argumentative and highly aggressive. This is no way to speak to anyone and especially so when you are providing a service to the public. We asked for a refund and left. I will not be returning ever and I strongly suggest this cafe rethinks the staff they have working there namely the red haired girl serving at the counter making the hot drinks.

Always busy.. there are seats outside which when you get the weather is nice. Staff are attentive and well trained. They get the odd thing wrong but they're only human..food is great and it's expensive but worth it. Some seats can be very cramped and tables are too close together as the space isn't there for the amount of guests they want to accommodate. Toilets and clean but sometimes there wouldn't be any toilet paper, but if you say it to them they're on it straight away.. doesn't deter me from coming back though..

I know this restaurant is very popular in the Drumcondra area so you need to book even on a weekday lunchtime. The menu is lovely and you will probably have difficulty choosing. I wouldn't recommend this place for a quick lunch the service is a bit slow. It's also quite pricey. The food though is excellent and was well worth the wait. So if you are looking for a place to spend a long leisurely lunch and don't mind paying a bit more for quality ingredients then this is the place for you.

Anderson's is always a nice place to go for a coffee and cake. The decor alone in Anderson's of the rise Drumcondra has a foreign feel to it. Unfortunately, this time I'm was very disappointed with my choice of desert. My experience was tainted with a very dry carrot cake which was very dependent on the cream that came on the side. The staff member didn't really seem to be overly sorry either. Hopefully this was just a glitch in a usually good café

  • Hermes Trismigistus

I cannot speak highly enough about Anderson's. My father and I have been getting lunch here for years and both their coffee and gormet sandwiches are some of the best in Dublin City. Staff are extremely friendly and we'll mannered. We constantly recommend Anderson's to friends and they always give it a 5 Star rating. Can at times be difficult to get a table but I can't justify knocking a star for that; regardless the place is an absolute gem.

  • seanino909

Nice food but they do the typical dublin cafe/pub trick of offering sandwiches with patata bravas/chips/etc. The sandwiches are actually huge and would be nice to have the patata bravas as an option. Also the patata bravas are not patata bravas and more like chopped potatoes in paprika - no sauce etc. That said food quality is good with good quality ingredients. Coffee is top notch also.

  • Marie Feeney

Ordered online , got order mixed up had to go back to pick up what they forgot. Wouldn't recommend chicken fillet burger as it's a big thick piece of chicken on a soft bun which falls apart as soon as you go to eat it, chicken too thick , should've been flattened before cooked to enable you to eat it properly. Patata bravas are only cubes of potatoes with no sauce , very disappointed

Came up from Kilkenny to visit Botanical gardens in Glasnevin, found this cafe online. Short drive from gardens, easy to find. Delighted we went, beautiful food, great variety, lovely atmosphere. Don't be put off by the queue to get a table as its flies along and you can enjoy looking at all the artisan food at the deli counter!!

Been here twice and wait times are shocking. Over 40 mins waiting on breakfast with no sorry given about the delay. Over priced and food not great. Toast was rock solid. This is common of this place as everyone was waiting and complaining about the time their food was taking. Honestly don't waste your money or time.

  • Margaret O'Gorman

Food is very overpriced and mediocre. Also cannot understand why the door is always left open regardless of the time of year - always feel when I'm there that I'm sitting in the middle of a field. The other Anderson's is the same.

Love Andersens - esp the art-deco interior. Fab deli counter too. Food is great - had wonderful ham and cheese open sandwich - lovely coffee. Have previously had scones, just plain toast, full breakfast, hummus and olive dips, etc. All Great. Visited with my 1yo nephew - they could'nt have been nicer.

  • john brady

Gave this place A second chance after being astounded with the wait time for a sandwich during loosen times. went im just now and ordered soup and a sandwich after being sat there for ten minutes. WD told out would be A 30 minute wait...for a SANDWICH. please is a joke being staffed by idiot kids.

  • Paloma Martinez

Nice for a coffee and cake but everytime that we order food we say 'never again'. We tried brunch today after years in the hope of a change but waited ages for the food which then arrived cold. Eggs either over done or not done enough, bread too hard to eat and generally not very appetising.

  • S W

This place is brilliant. Lovely food, lovely staff, very reasonable pricing. The facility itself is impressive. Really nice outdoor dining area out the back. Family ran, which is always nice. Absolute hidden gem in the neighbourhood. Just had lunch here, and will be coming back very soon!

  • PK

A lovely & unexpected find in a quiet residential neighbourhood. A bit on the pricey side though but lovely oat milk cappuccino with walnut & coffee cake, even if the cake was a tad too sweet. But lovely relaxing atmosphere provided the other customers aren't speaking too loudly! …

  • Geraldine Fitzgerakd

A very disappointing experience. Goats cheese salad with mainly a huge bed of lettuce with sour dressing and stale brown bread. No table assistance whatsoever and itxx xx wasn’t busy. A glass of house wine which was also very sour. 25 e for a bit of cheese I won’t be returning …

  • I DeBhulbh

Beautiful coffee, the food is very good but you wait a long time for service and for the food to come, even on takeaways when the food is ready, there is 99% of the time, a wait of 5 mins plus for the coffee. I live down the road and go here nearly every week. Friendly staff.

  • Ed Monaghan

Lovely food and coffee, but service was very slow and there was no communication from staff. We waited 50mins for 2 fruit salads and some pancakes. The pancakes were cold and the fruit salads were smothered in natural yoghurt, which was to have been served on the side.

  • Thomas Matthews

Had the eggs and avocado with sour dough. Essentially those three food pieces placed beside each other, very dry and very poor in my opinion. Also very little space at the back and was forced to physically move our table twice to let a man with a buggy park it outside.

  • Paul Stafford

Incredible full Irish breakfast to gourmet standards tucked away in a sleepy housing estate in D9. Worth a ramble towards if you're deeply hungover or if you're coming from the other side of the city you'll quickly find you that the Northside isn't so bad afteralll...

  • Sharon O'Brien

Very disappointed. Gone down hill. Used to love Anderson's. Haven't been in a while but went for Sunday lunch last week. Attention to detail needs improving. Outdoor area in dire need of sprucing up. Service poor and food quality not good. Expensive for what we got.

  • Geraldine

Disappointed with dinner recently, i was asked how was my meal. I replied in a low voice that chicken was very tough (I left chicken on plate and ate salad) The reply was a nod and my bill. I think coffee and scone only in future. Pity as I always liked Anderson's.

  • Brian Nulty

Beautiful restaurant and cafe. Takeaway sandwiches very filling. Great value for money. One must take into account the time it takes from ordering to actually getting order. 35 minutes waiting time . I'll leave that up to you if you think it's worth that wait.

  • chris cava

We loved this place. Food was fab, I particularly liked the scrambled eggs and the coffee was just spot on to my taste. The waiter was witty and the waitresses gorgeous. The prospect of a bottle of Haut Poitou with suppet was quite special.

  • MrWhite Yo

Love this busy little place, excellent selection of coffees, pastries, meats, cheese and meals and a special mention goes to the efficient and friendly staff who tend to your every need be it dining in or just popping in for a takeaway treat.

  • Naser Monsefi

This is the food hall of famous Andersons creperie and its located in a lovely family neighborhood. They do amazing steak sandwiches and you can get them on their all day early bird. For this dinner I got the goats cheese tartlet and

  • Cecilia Zega

Cosy, beautiful interior, really friendly staff & the food is amazing, authentic & home made! I have just eaten the most delicious fish pie!!!!! And they have Acqua Panna....a bonus if you are Italian. Highly recommend Andersons

  • Adam Fry

Eating at Andersons was an absolute pleasure. The food was amazing and perfectly cooked, quick to be served and great portions. Their staff are more than happy to assist with anything you need and more. Would gladly revisit again

  • Emer McCudden

Lots of free tables and we weren't welcome They didn't ask if we wanted lunch, coffee or whatever. Having been visiting this spot for many years, and brought lots of friends there, I will never darken their doorstep again. …

  • Catherine Ross

Cappachino was warm had to ask twice for it to be hot, slow service. Place was very cold. Need warming up after going there. Service has greatly gone down. It was a great place. Very sad by this. Would not return in near future.

  • Michael Walsh

Great choices of excellent food. Quiet today but it was mid-afternoon. Had slight issue with chicken breast, undercooked imo. Asked for it to be put under grill for a few more minutes. Complete plate redone and was excellent

  • Tonio Ing

Went twice and sat outside, each time we waited longer than expected and each time they spilled our coffees on the tables. But they bring napkins for us to sort it out?

A nice restaurant located on the Rise in Glasnevin. I went here for breakfast and I had scrambled eggs and bacon which followed by an almond croissant. I was impressed with the food on show and I would recommend a trip

  • Monica Johnstone

Great local amenity. Cutlery & tableware A1, way ahead of usual cafe/restaurant. Varied if limited menue. Food always fresh and individually prepared. Dublin needs more such outlets (address is Glasnevin not Whitehall)

  • Olive Elliott

It was around 4 pm when we arrived and the food looked and tasted as it was the last left. I was violently sick when I got home. This was my favourite place and usually the food is good but this time it didnt happen.

  • Mick Mc

Staff here are brilliant. All very helpfull and made always as nice from when you walk in. The place is spotless and the food here is always good. Very tastey spot and worth a visit. A hidden Jem of a restauraunt.

  • Richard White

Ordered the Irish breakfast. The scrambled eggs were almost inedible. Tasted like they were cooked in a dirty pan with used oil. Pretty sure the sausages were reheated. One of the worst Irish breakfasts I’ve had.

  • christopher burns

10 euro cheese board custom made as I didn't want the meat so they gave cheese in its place. The food is always perfect and staff are polite and helpful even though the restaurant is never quiet and they are busy

  • Kieran Tuohy

I've been to Anderson's quite a few times and have always met with pleasant staff and delicious food and coffee. The breakfast options from pancakes to fry-ups are all top notch and will set you up for the day.

  • Joe Francis

Recent visit here with friends for lunch.Very nice experience. Food was great.Atmosphere excellent. It was very busy as it always is but the staff really were efficient and friendly.Definitely worth a visit.

  • mark perry

Delicious food , served in a cosy environment. Spotless . Very friendly and helpful staff . busy spot so pick your time to go. parking is scarce , but dont let that stop you. good selection of claas wines .

  • Emma Hastings

Great quality food. Reasonably priced by Dublin standards, especially as portions are big. Regularly go for lunch and never disappoints. Has parking outside and there are on street parking options also.

  • Michael Collins

Service very slow. Waited 60 minutes and still no order. No communication between staff, who seemed very unhappy to be even working there at all. Not a place to go to if you need a quick cup of coffee.

  • Danny

Disappointing. Hard boiled egg for eggs Benedict, with rashers and doughy bread. The atmosphere is nice, and the room is cosy, the staff are nice.

Cute cate but service was slow, we waited almost 45 mins for just 2 sandwiches to come out on a Wednesday afternoon? Kind of pricy but the food was very good! I loved the potatoes and club sandwich.

Best goats cheese salad I've ever had. Love their menu and always a nice atmosphere. Sometimes quite a long wait for the food but probably because the place is always packed cause it's so nice here.

  • susan donohoe

Not great got seafood platter was tin tuna few prawns smoked salmon and crab . Also got barbeque wings very small 6 for 9€. We loved old menu but new one mostly burgers. Wont be back . …

  • Antaine Ó hÉimhín

Poor service. On paper the fare looked tempting, however once served it failed to deliver on taste. I opted for their full breakfast. The scrambled eggs were a low point. The coffee was good.

  • Arletta Lücht

My favourite spot in Glasnevin. We come here regularly and have never been disappointed. Lovely ambiance and even better food. Coeliac friendly menu, always tasty and fresh and great service.

  • Fiona Irwin

Had a lovely sourdough sandwich and delicious illy coffee outdoors here, made all the more enjoyable with lockdown looming. But comforting to know that Andersons will be open for takeaway.

  • Robin Delaney

A BLT with stale bread and a stale cinnamon roll. Standards have dropped immensely. There’s a reason they have no new awards outside this place. One star for our waitress. She was lovely.

  • Thayse Marques Passos

This north side hidden gem is one f the best options for brunch, lunch or dinner that you’ll find around Glasnevin. Service is great, portions have a good size and the price is fair.

As a local, Andersons had always been a stopping of point. The quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff is undoubted. There are times when the service can be a bit slow.

Incredible Gourmet sandwiches. The chicken and Applewood cheese was absolutely unreal, and comes with potatas bravas. Very delightful little spot. Well decorated, very quirky. …

  • Garreth Cooke

Average at best. Very good first impression but food and service average. Had been a while since we were there and last time was the same. Don’t think we will get third time lucky.

  • Noel Rock

Lovely spot. Alas, went to visit twice - once in November and once in December - and unexpectedly closed both times. Always good to update these things on here or on Facebook too.

  • Bryan Mac Donald

Great little bistro in Glasnevin. The food is always high quality with friendly and efficient service. Anderson's is great for lunch or even a coffee or a relaxing glass of wine.

  • Dimitar Tsvetkov

Very cute little restaurant. Good food, very friendly and helpful staff, nice comfortable atmosphere and friendly for kids. Great for a quick snack out with friends and family.

  • Caitriona Collins

Had the pancakes, they were ok, bacon not cooked enough for my taste. Plate was cold therefore food went cold fast. A bit pricey too. Lunch is much nicer would rate it a 4 *

  • Sarah Louise

Lovely little place hidden away - in for breakfast and the food was lovely Only one criticism..... hot food on a freezing cold plate means the food goes very cold very fast

  • John Brady

Great sandwichs and good value in Dublin terms, however....if you're in anyway of a rush maybe go elsewhere as 30 mins of a wait is a bit too much, particularly if hungry.

  • Derek Kirwan

Lovely coffee and almond croissant to go Back for lunch June 2022, really tasty sat out the front in the sun so very pleasant. Good value will be back again this summer.

  • Muna

My favourite local cafe. Great breakfast and branch. Very delicious selections f cheese, bread and bakery. Nice sandwiches and desserts. Friendly staff. Cosy atmosphere.

  • Gary Moran

Waited 40 minutes for sandwiches, no explanation given. Had to leave before the food arrived and still no explanation or apology as I paid for my coffees at the counter.

  • Niall Doherty

Nice food, friendly staff. Would have liked to sit inside terraced area but because this is a restaurant not cafe, it takes a long time for tables to become available.

  • Eoin O'Liathain

Nice for a breakfast. Good ambience. Food is subpar. No filter coffee, no fried eggs, and the breakfast (eggs royale) just didn’t do anything impressive. 3 stars alas.

Lovely brunch in a bustling cafe. Great sandwiches - seriously generous servings with pastas bravas to accompany. Service slick and friendly. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Elizabeth Avery

Nice place for a light dinner. They haven’t had a deli and cheese counter for 5-6 months, which was disappointing, as there are not a lot of food stores in the area.

Always a pleasant venue for some excellent food; Illy coffee wins out every time, the tapas is the best in Dublin (when its on)...go on, you know you want to...

  • Stephen Mc Lean

Lovely coffee but can take a long time to get it, only important if you want a take away coffee on the run. Great food, service and atmosphere for a sit down.

Went here for lunch a few months ago and had a horrible customer service experience. The older man working here is extremely rude and I won’t be back. Ever.

  • Tom Sandlin

I ate breakfast here (scrambled eggs + bacon) and it was very tasty. They had some good looking cakes; I bought a slice of a chocolate cake +cherries. Yumm

  • Shining Star98

Staff here including the owner are quite arrogant, prices are too high for the bad service and it is quite small overall. There are better places to eat.

  • attilio petrini

Very good coffee, relaxed atmosphere in a somewhat unusual setting being in a residential area. I returned after years and will most likely go back again

  • Fiona Keogh

Waited over a half an hour , after being seated, for a panini and a wrap. Cold wet food. Waiter with attitude. Standard here have definitely slipped

  • Aisling Ahern

Very poor service every time I've been here. Food is lovely but I feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff by attending. Expect more at these prices.

  • Wayne Mahony

Friendly staff, service wasn't great, food was nice but it's very expensive especially having to pay extra for a cup of tea with full breakfast!

  • Joyce Kenny

Food awful. Rashers like card board. Really disappointed. Have been there before and it was good. Coffee lovely. 36 euro pricy for what we got
