They told me "7-10 days" to receive the ashes in the urn, then after about three weeks the ashes had finally shown up, shipped in a plastic bag inside a USPS cardboard box. After calling several times trying to ask where the urn I had purchased was, they promised that it would definitely be overnighted, and it would definitely show up in time for the memorial service. So I stayed at home for a day and half waiting for it. Finally after waiting until the last minute, I had to get up and go to the out of town memorial service without the ashes/urn. When I got back home several days later, the urn still had not arrived. After about a month, I got a message from Jan, (maybe Jan Senna?) asking how my experience had been. I called back and tried to express how upset I was with the whole experience, how I believe that funeral industry markups imply "white glove treatment": since you are grieving they make sure you're not gonna have to worry about anything: that you can count on them to handle it. Well, Jan did not let me finish this thought, and cut me off more than 15 times in a row shouting at me about how great Aria Cremation services is, how they had a BBB rating of A+, and how there is no markup at all. Then she told me that "all people who lose someone are BRAIN DEAD!" I replied (calmly) that I did not appreciate being called brain dead, and then she shouted "I DID NOT CALL YOU 'BRAIN DEAD', I SAID: 'EVERYONE WHO LOSES SOMEONE IS BRAIN DEAD! I AM A PUBLISHED AUTHOR, AND I KNOW HOW TO CHOOSE WORDS, AND YOU DO NOT TELL ME HOW TO CHOOSE MY WORDS!'" After putting up with Jan yelling at me for more than 20 minutes, she finally said that within 2 days the owner of the business would call me and make it right. The owner never called. p.s.- find the same exact urns on amazon for 50% less!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Aria. When my father passed, they were absolutely exceptional to work with - particularly Amanda, who worked closely with us and who dotted every "i" and crossed every "t." I live in PA and my father was in Dallas, so it was logistically difficult as I was back and forth during the time of his death. Amanda, who served in the military, brought to our attention that my father - based on his Air Force background - could be interred in any National Cemetery in the country. We would not have known that if not for her. Amanda dealt with the countless details to arrange for his full honors military service at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. This was a HUGE undertaking! (No pun...) Regarding the comment about Aria's pricey urns - Amanda and her team were extremely sincere and NEVER forced us into anything, in fact recommended at one point that I wait to purchase something in PA or online if I couldn't find anything that fit the bill at Aria. And guess what - urns are at least $80 wherever you go! I was so pleased with Amanda's calming demeanor, her take-charge attitude, her attention to detail, that when my step-mother passed recently - my dad's wife of 20 years - we immediately turned to Aria to help in our time of need. Anyone who tells you that they'll get less than exceptional attention and service must be referring to a different funeral service.
I have so much to say and it still wouldn’t express the gratitude I have for Dustin Martin and Aria Funeral Homes. Dustin took care of my daddy from the start all the way to finish. Dustin (the gentleman who came to get my dad when he passed) was amazing. He was calm, patient, respectful, willing to listen, and it eased the loss in that moment. Then Dustin “Dusty” the Funeral Director picked up the torch with his loving heart, amazing stories, and decisive detail while we made arrangements. I felt comfortable being honest and selective and asking questions. The gentleman who designed the floral arrangement was a master at his craft and my dad’s burial was peaceful and well planned. Dusty was with us every step of the way, ensuring no detail was missed. He went above and beyond. He listens to the hearts of the families. He really cares as if it were his family being laid to rest. I would never recommend any one else to handle your loved ones burial service. Dusty and the team of Aria are A-1 and I know my dad is well pleased that he was taken care of for his family as well as he was. Thank you Dusty and team because what you gave to our family was priceless and we love you all for that!
This was the first time I've had to deal with finalizing a loved ones affairs. When it came time to choose a crematory and funeral provider for my father, I reached out to Aria Cremation Services. Our funeral director, Dusty, was extremely knowledgeable, genuine and accommodating, which put our family at ease when it came to finalizing all of the details of my father's remains, and the funeral service. Dealing with the loss of a loved one is very difficult due to having to balance the emotions of losing someone you love, with tasks that need to be taken care of -- rather quickly. I thought that organizing and facilitating the funeral was going to be a daunting task, but Dusty was there and patient with us every step of the way. He did a great job at facilitating all of our requests, and required very little of our time leading up to the service. Please consider reaching out to Dusty at Aria if your family is dealing with a loss that requires crematory or funeral services. You will be in good hands. Thank you Dusty and Aria Cremation Services.
My husband passed away in 2008, since we lived in Wichita Falls, Tx they had to take him to Ft. Worth for his autopsy. I lived in Irving for 28 yrs prior to moving here. Aria had a location in Irving, Tx at the time and I could not have asked for a more helpful attendant to assist me. I have recommended many of our friends and family to contact Aria, but most are stubborn and used a service here. It cost a few of my friends both arms and a leg. I hear from them later they wish they had listened to me. Yes, it was only the cremation and paperwork I had help with, as I had to find a place to have his Celebration of Life, but people were very helpful here to allow me a place to hold services. I would recommend Aria again and if I still live here when it is my time and Aria still in business, instructions for my daughter will be left to have me sent there. My goal is to check with them about preplanning my cremation so I can start paying them. Thank you Aria and your employees for all the help you did for me.
I highly recommend Funeral Director Dustin Martin. His main concern was to understand my family’s wishes for my father. And he facilitated that in all respects. I met with Dusty at a difficult time on the day my father died. Yet he made this necessary task as easy as possible. He also made himself very available to me. I left knowing that he would be responsive should I need him for any reason and that I could reach him easily reach him at any time. He is a good funeral director. And he is a good person. I was referred to Aria Cremation Services by a 40-year veteran Hospice nurse. I asked her where the family’s wishes would be respected and where we would not be subjected to a sales pitch for services we did not need or want. She violated policy by giving me an off-the-record referral. This Google review can only reflect my own experience with Aria. But the opinion of a veteran Hospice nurse tells me that I am not the only person who thinks highly of Aria.
My Daddy's service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis - but in his industry - you hope to not see him that often. That being said - THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad's lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. - I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to "Be There" is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!
My recent experience with Aria Cremation at the East NorthWest Hwy location was such a wonderful and effortless transaction with all thanks and gratitude going to Dustin Martin Funeral Director. His compassion so sincere and professionalism so perfect. I cannot say enough about Dustin. His heart is in his work but it is not work to him but a calling indeed! I have peace of heart that my Father was well taken of with all respect. Thank you! Rebecca Daniel
Dusty, Kendrick and Evelyn are wonderful, and I would recommend Aria to anyone. They are knowledgeable, kind and incredibly compassionate. Dusty helped us navigate everything for both of my parents, and he made impossibly hard times as effortless as possible. I especially appreciated his warmth and the little details that he added to make honoring my parents so special. I cannot thank Dusty enough for doing so right by my family.
Dusty at Aria provided excellent service and went above and beyond in assisting me with the handling of my mom's cremation. Dusty was primarily focused on helping me through this process in the way I felt most comfortable vs. trying to up-sell me on items I didn't need. I felt the service Aria and Dusty provided was affordable and the treatment I received was respectful.
Aria handled my boyfriend and my mother. Wonderful job, Dustin Martin is so helpful, kind, patient and sympathetic to your grief. He makes the process less stressful and confusing. I recommend them to anyone that that has lost a loved one. I know I'll be using them when my time comes. Thank you Dustin very much
$100.00 for a tacky plastic box to hold your loved ones ashes is obscene. Hell has a special place for people who take advantage of grieving 80 year olds. I don't know how inflated the prices for the rest of their are services are, but if this is any indication, we can speculate. Shame on you Aria.
My family discovered Aria through my closest friend, and my Grandmother’s friend, as well. Dusty truly is the best. He is calm and collected. We went to pick up my Uncle, and he sat there and consoled my Granny. Truly, we would not have been able to get through our loss the way we did without him.
I want to personally thank Dusty for the care and attention he showed for our loved one and for me and my family. His genuine heatfelt concern to address our needs ans wishes was both comforting and sincerely appreciated during this difficult time. We felt like family and not a number.
I cannot praise them enough. From start to finish, their professionalism, and attention to detail were outstanding. The staff at Aria are truly exceptional. They provided a warm and welcoming environment. They were always available to address any questions.
Crazy stupid over pricing. $60.00 for a tiny cardboard box. About as big as my fist. I laughed when they told me the price. I said please no thank you. Otherwise very professional to a fault. Didn’t even say “Sorry for your loss”. Very odd.
Dusty Martin was amazing. He made a hard process very easy and listened to all of our wants and needs for my dad’s memorial. He answered every phone call and answered all of our questions with patience and understanding. Thank you!
The staff at Aria is first class. When my wife and I were pre-planning our future funeral services, they were a tremendous help. Answered all our questions and helped us make the best decisions possible.
My time with the staff was extremely pleasant. They really took the time to understand the needs of the family and made everyone feel like a part of their family.
