A nice little park with a boat launch. There is a nice boardwalk that attaches it to The blue Cypress park which is how we accessed it. We quickly explored some of the trails and was surprised how nice there are. The talks were shaded but there were lots of roots so be careful. Plenty of picnic options along the trails and under pavilions. There were plenty of benches along the trails making for some relaxing strolls.
This has always been an excellent park until the boardwalk that connects the Lion's Club Park with the Blue Cypress Park was damaged by a hurricane in 2017. The boardwalk is impassable. A lot of bicyclists, joggers, dog walkers, and walkers enjoyed that 1/2 mile long trip along the St Johns River.
This use to my favorite retreat. Since Matthew and Irma it is a mess and poorly maintained and the board walk is has been closed for months!! Transformers have been on the ground since Irma. I called the City 4 times and still these things are on the ground and pose a safety hazard for kids!!!
I love this park I just wish they would pick up all the trash. Watch your step on the boardwalk trail because there's a lot of misplaced and mismatched boards from poor repair jobs. Beautiful place to walk and see the river though. Nice golf course in the back/front depending on how you enter.
It's good that local area kids have a place to play soccer or use the playground. Also nice that there are trails and boardwalks. Doesn't seem like there's a lot of effort to maintain it though. Most of the boardwalk area is destroyed, probably from previous hurricanes.
The play place for this is small and there's a place where the set is breaking, crumbling. It's still safe, but a trip hazard for sure. The pedestrian bridge/fishing dock continues to be on disrepair after various hurricanes. There are two nice picnic pavilions.
Nice for fishing, bringing dogs, cookouts, and a small walk on the boardwalk. I wish the boardwalk was longer. I did not walk the scenic trail. 3 stars because it is not much of a walking trail (boardwalk). Bathroom was clean and had a water fountain (a plus).
We love coming here and walking the dock and letting the kids splash around in the river. Gets a little busy on holidays and sadly they tore the kids playground down with what seems no intentions of putting up a new one.
I like to relax in this park. There is a lot of greenery here, a wooden embankment along the river. There are walking paths in the forest. There is also a great large gazebo in the shade and parking spaces by the river.
Dock ,bathrooms, picnic tables, fishing, nature walks, golf course coming soon.and various other sporting fields nice place to have team building experiences,or company BBQ.
This park and blue cypress are finally back to being a place with a safe Boardwalk. Major improvements have been made but you can still tell there's some work to be done.
Such a nice area to walk along the water. There are ramps to walk along the water front and nature paths that go through the forest nearby. Very enjoyable nature walk.
Date: Spring 2021 Note: review is based more on the trails Fun little trail to hike or bike on. The boardwalk is one of my favorites, especially sunrise/sunset.
Nice evening walk...fun to encounter the "cat lady" feeding the many cats that call the park their home. She truly cares for the feline community. …
Location provides bathrooms clean also provides running water boat drop off is good and the new concrete peir is awesome …
This park has beautiful trails. There are views of the St John's River and if you are a boater you can launch your boat there.
Nice park with football/soccer fields, basket ball court, golf course, fishing pier, nature walk and nice scenery.
They need to be fix the dock city of Jacksonville need to get on it been broken for 2 years no place to fish.
Beautiful gem of a park. Too bad the men's room is STILL out of order. ((Both could use a cleaning)
A great place for tennis, picnics, launching you boat, and fishing. There are restrooms too!
Saw a bunch of baby crabs walking along the shore and also a couple big crabs in the water.
Beautiful park. I loved it. Alot of people walk and run here. You can also play golf.
Just love the walks along the river and the trees here ( and so does our dog)
