This is a very nice and huge park! It is clean. It has wide open spaces for the kids to run around. It also has a nice size playground area with three sets of swings. One set of swings for babies. It has lots of slides at different heights. It also has an area to set up your folding chairs to watch the kids in. It does not have many picnic tables...so bring your own chairs. It has many shaded areas just in case there is too much sun for your liking. Me, my 3 kids ages 1 to 10, and father-in-law enjoyed the park very much. We brought our things like Frisbee, baseball and bat, boomerang etc. We let the kids run and play for about an hr. Then we put our things away in the car. There's plenty of parking by the way. As well as parking close overlooking the playground. Anyways, we then let the kids play in the playground area for 2 hrs. They had a blast. The playground is surrounded by a fence with two openings that can be closed. Again we thoroughly enjoyed this park. We will be visiting this park again definitely.

The City of Jacksonville purchased this 144-acre site in 1994, and was formerly the Dunes Golf course. Among the amenities at this large, Arlington-area park is the City`s top disc golf course. Also known as the "Fore Palms Disc Golf Club," this 18-hole layout includes open and tree-lined fairways through the park on a course carefully designed to challenge all levels of players. Tournaments and weekly events are available for more advanced players, while beginners of all ages can learn the game and the techniques from advanced players and disc-golf professionals who frequent the course. The park also includes lighted baseball fields, soccer fields, walking trail, a community center operated by the Police Athletic League, playground equipment and picnic areas. Formerly known as District II Regional Park, it was renamed in May 2005 in honor of former Jacksonville Mayor Ed Austin.

This is one of the better (or even best) baseball parks I have been to in a long while. Nice and spacious with good sun covering over the bleachers. The fields are even and well kept. The electronic score boards are a very nice touch , especially considering they have score, inning, strikes, and balls. The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of room for the "other kids" to play while the game is going on. The only problem I had (and I may have missed it) is the parking lot was a bit away from the baseball fields and we have an older couple that had trouble getting to the fields (didn't see close parking or a sidewalk). Like I said though I may just not know where it is. All and all this was a very pleasant stay at their wonderful parks.

I love walking the trail here. It is a 1.7 mile winding loop, about 90% paved. The parts that are not paved are well-kept gravel. The loop is 30-40% shaded by trees. I was surprised that even in the wooded areas, there aren't many bugs and critters around. There are two water fountains (if I recall correctly) positioned on the loop, and each water station also has a short fountain where you can give your pup a fresh drink. This park is my favorite to take my dog on walks on the weekends, because it is not too difficult for me (with joint problems) yet it still has some incline throughout. It's a beautiful park, with a disc golf course in the middle of the loop, with many surrounding baseball/softball fields and basketball courts.

Not just a circle but in ẁaves. It was a big park. 2.75 mi path. Several stations where hills are and places to sit, play Frisbee, mini golf even- the little hills. There is a dog park gated within the park as well. I saw a playground...a couple actually. Clean park. Parking all around. We went on a windy day.... wish I brought shades. There were sand dunes nearby. We walked it twice strolling the babies. : )
Playground
Several
Restrooms
We're okay clean
Dog-friendliness
Separately gated within the area. Lots of tree for shade.

The Ed Austin Reguonal Park complex is awesome. A very large complex with a number recreational opportunities. We played disc golf, and man what a great course. They have a full 18 hole course with a number of bonus holes. They also have multiple launch pads for the short to power throwers. They move the basket positions weekly in order to keep the course challenging. The park hosts tournaments regularly. A walking track flanks the course which provides ample social opportunities. Beautiful course, challenging but fair. Highly recommend!!

Ed Austin park is a great place for you and your family and friends to visit. There you can play a multitude of sports and enjoy the great outdoors when walking the nature trail there. This park has plenty of fields and courts that allow children and adults to enjoy many sports year around. From basketball, baseball, soccer, football, softball, boxing, karate and running or any kind you can find and enjoy at this park. Ed Austin park is the one stop shop for all things sports related and I highly recommend everyone to go here.

  • Collin Carson

It is a nice central location, however the fields are in very poor shape. The grass is spotty, and there are sand spurs down both flanks of all of the fields I have seen. If you are playing soccer and fall, it's painful and takes a while to get them out! The disc golf course is nice however.
Playground
Playground is in good shape, centrally located so that the kids are not out of sight.
Restrooms
When the restrooms are unlocked, they are relatively clean, which is always a plus for a public facility bathroom

  • Adam Aylesworth

The baseball and tball fields are great. If only the softball fields got that same love. I know the field crews do what is in their budget, and if i knew who or how to change the scales, i would.
Playground
Very nice playgrounds. Skatepark is concrete base and fairly busy after school.
Dog-friendliness
2 large dog parks. 1 fenced area is heavily shaded by trees for the big fur kids. The smaller fenced area is also fairly shaded for the littler ones.

I had to modify my rating for this park. There have been signs stating that they're building a new playground for over 2 years. It's falling apart and they are not building the new playground. Some of the equipment is being held up by duct tape. The bathrooms never have toilet paper. The only upside is the walking path and the dog park. There is also a skate park, but it's always crowded so it's not somewhere you can bring little kids who are learning.

  • C.W. Wisniewski

This is probably the biggest and best park in the city: huge playgrounds and swingsets, picnic areas, soccer fields, baseball fields, even an enclosed dog park.
Playground
The swings need a little grease, which we will bring on our next visit.
Restrooms
The bathrooms *ahem* need a little more attention than they are getting. Not sure if the city actually services them or if this is done on a volunteer-basis. The smells were pretty rancid.

  • Uxie

I love coming to this park so do my dogs. Yuna and Eraserhead always have fun running around with the other dogs. The areas are well managed and I feel safe letting my dogs loose in the dog park. The park is seperated by size so you dont need to worry about a 80 pd dog accidentally stepping on your smaller dog. Water is available for the pooches and Yuna likes the pools provided that can be filled so that the dogs can sit in them.

  • Amanda Brown

Big nice place. Can get busy at times. Has senior and youth centers. Softball, football and soccer fields. Nice skateboard rink, Golf disc and walk/run trails. Just ok looking dog park area big and small sections. Bathroom yes by one of the kids playground area. but some may not be opened or runned down a bit but is clean. Our first time here. while our dog was at hidden hills vet we just stopped by to walk around while we waited.

  • Sarah Sutton

Always a ton of fun here and we appreciate the amenities like the bath house, lots of room to ride bicycles, and two playgrounds. The kids love seeing the dogs going to and from the dog park. The community is generally kind and welcoming, although we did have a sour experience with a really awful lady on one occasion. Despite that experience, we intend to go again. It’s one of the handful of local parks that seems well tended to.

  • Derek Hoffman

This park has it all. You like baseball? It's got multiple fields. What about skateboarding? It has a skatepark. Oh no, what about my dog you might ask? It has a dog park. So I should leave my soccer ball at home, right? No! There are soccer fields. But wait there is more! Walking paths. Cleanliness. Safety. Well maintained. Friendly patrons. Last but certainly not least one of the best disc golf courses in Jacksonville.

  • Patricia Herte

I like to go to Ed Austin to walk. There is a 1.7 mile track that perimeters the park. It's dog friendly with 2 enclosed areas for dogs. This is a baseball park, a soccer , and football park, and has a Frisbee golf park. The only thing I don't like about the park is that many people don't pick up after their dogs, even though the park provides poop bags and plenty of trash cans. I would recommend this park.

  • Jon Erickson

Love having this park so close. Clean and maintained. Dog park, skateboarding, basketball, frisbee golf, 1.75 mile concrete path. We love this place. Walk the trail all the time. The dog park is another reason we go here. Dog park can get busy but most owners are sane and don’t let crazy dogs in. There is a small dog and large dog area which are separated.

  • Kate Matovina

Easily one of my favorite dog parks in the city. Free entry, separate areas for small and large dogs, and they are laying new mulch currently. We rarely run into problem pets/owners, most patrons are friendly and consistent (we see the same purple at certain times of the day). Well worth a trip over if your fur baby needs some running room.

  • Hilirie

So much green space and lots of trees! There is a biking/walking/running trail around the entire park. There is also a disc golf course. Has many diff kinds of sports fields too. And a nice playground for kids. Beautiful area ❤ Love the layout and how much space there is for everyone to enjoy a piece of nature without getting too congested.

  • Adam Jerscheid

Not a bad park but the bathrooms here are absolutely horrible. Doesn't seem like they ever get clean. The walking/biking trail going around the place is nice. Sign says it's 1.75 miles. Ball fields are nice but they are all locked up and unable to be used for private use. Not smart since this place is funded by residents.

  • Erick Jones

A Favorite Park. My Son likes it, my Dog likes it, plenty of shade and wide walking and jogging paved pathways. Apparently used to be a Golf Course in the 1980s, been transformed into A Disc Golf Course and Dog Park and Skate Park with Baseball/ Softball Fields and a Kids Playground which is scheduled for a renovation.

  • Jhett Beyler

Probably the nicest park I've ever been to. I primarily go for the disc golf course which is one of if not the best in Jacksonville. The dog park is nice and everything seems really well maintained. The walking trail is really great. Nothing bad to say about this park except that it can get pretty busy some days.

  • Nicole R. Smith-Realtor

This park has to be one of the most unique parks with the most amount of activities. Walking paths, disc golf, basketball, baseball, soccer, flag football, skateboard park, dog park, playground. Benches, fountains, restrooms, P.A.L Athletic League. You must stop by and enjoy the shade, nature man made lakes.

  • Roosevelt Brown

Ed Austin regional Park is 140+ acres of soccer fields, indoor basketball courts, baseball fields ,children's parks and hiking areas. It's dog friendly, handicap parking and access. Bikes are permitted. It's got a community center and a concession stand , picnic tables and water fountains.

  • Edwin M Mukabana

This park is huge and has all this different playgrounds from basketball, baseball, football and soccer. Also has a walk trail and parking space is conveniently located near the playground areas
Playground
There is a lot of space for each sport you’re into. Just amazing.

  • Goat Black

Public park are with a nice trail for those who like to walk or ride a bike. The place is family friendly with ample room for kids to play. There are numerous fields available for play and practice, that many local youth leagues use for soccer and numerous other sporting activities.

  • Cindy Conto

We live 4 miles from here. Tried the walk/bike trail today for the first time. Wonderfully paced path. Shade and sun spots. Enjoyed the company of on coming walkers and bikers. Will definitely be utilizing this often! Don’t know the exact length but intend to utilize!

  • D Smitty

This is a very large park. It has different sports fields, i.e. baseball, it also has a Police Athletic League with track & field, boxing, tackle/flag football and basketball. Very nice, clean facilities with amenities inside. Boxing ring and basketball court.

  • Keith Jones Sr

Awesome park! Frisbee golf is pretty big here it’s usually packed on Saturday’s. Lots of soccer, baseball and basketball as well. PAL has a gym and does after school activities here as well. Great park for the family to hang out after school or the weekends.

  • Thomas Murphy

Desperate need of an upgrade. Honestly quite dangerous for kids to play on park equipment. From areas that are duct tapped together to rusted out platforms to broken chain welded climbing stations. The rest of the park is great, awesome disc golf course.

  • Paul Mouhalis

This park is an example of Government incompetence at its finest. They literally can not manage to keep bathrooms unlocked, a task that would take 0 effort. Instead they go out of their way to lock all the bathrooms to inconvenience their constituents.

  • Wil Laws

Great park for walking, running, just enjoying the scenery, etc. I would love it if the animal feeders, particularly the squirrels, had their own area to do so. The squirrels nearly run at the feet of all others, thinking they will get a treat.

  • Enrique LEÓN

A Lot activities and safe Park FOR everyone. Soccer, football, softball, béisball, golf, basketball, senior center, playground, areas small dogs and big dogs, lake, way for walking 2.5 miles, bikers and skate... beautiful Monday to Sunday.

  • Janie Williams

This place is nice to walk or run. My only problem is they only have one public restroom near the kids playground. Most of the time it has no toilet paper or hand soap. They had a Porta potty but that was removed about two months ago.

  • Sean McCarthy

Fine park. Needs a little bit more watering to maintain grassy areas. Restrooms were clean. Parking is good. Plenty of activities available and great access to get in and out for sporting events. Baseball, soccer, football and more.

  • Joshua Sanders

This park is pretty cool. Big area with trees, and lots of room for your pup to run around. Macey Jade loves this place. It's by the skate park if you can't find it. You can miss it if you're not careful. Hope yall enjoy!

  • william Schroeder-Cox

loved it. haven't played frisbee golf in years but love the set up. came from the desert so a different challenge with trees. having to learn to be more Precise with throws. now I just need to make friends to play with.

  • Brittny Pesek

Very nice park that has pretty much everything. A nice long trail, skate park, dog park, and other sports. I gave 4 stars because it really needs more water fountains but otherwise, very nice park. Will be coming back

  • Gina Collins

Come all the time with my pups. Very safe so far even at the times when we shouldn't be there but are.
Dog-friendliness
My dogs love both the small and the big dark park alone with all the pups that visit.

Beautiful park, love the disc golf course. It is very spread out, so we never found ourselves wait long on other people or running into cross traffic from other holes.
