I recently had the pleasure of visiting the fantastic kids park designed specifically for children aged 2-5 years old. This inclusive park, approved by the American Disabilities Association, truly exceeded my expectations and provided a delightful experience for both children and parents alike. One of the most impressive features of this park is the large canopies that cover the entire play area. Not only do they provide much-needed shade on sunny days, but they also create a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. It's wonderful to see a park that takes the comfort of its visitors into consideration, ensuring they can enjoy their playtime regardless of the weather. Another noteworthy aspect is the ground covered with rubber padding and Astroturf. This thoughtful choice not only ensures a safe and cushioned play surface, but it also promotes inclusivity by accommodating children with various mobility needs. Parents can feel at ease knowing that their little ones can run, jump, and play freely without the worry of slips or falls. The covered awning with two large picnic tables is a brilliant addition. It provides a perfect spot for families to take a break, enjoy a snack, or even have a picnic lunch. It's wonderful to see that the park encourages a sense of community and provides a space for families to gather and connect while their children have a blast. I was pleasantly surprised by the educational opportunities scattered throughout the park. The signs that promote learning are a fantastic touch, adding an extra layer of engagement and cognitive stimulation. It's fantastic to see a park that not only focuses on physical activity but also encourages intellectual development in a fun and playful manner. The nautical theme of the play area is a definite highlight. The two boat-themed play sets instantly transport young adventurers into a world of imagination and creativity. From climbing aboard a pirate ship to navigating through a sailor's adventure, children can embark on exciting journeys and let their imagination run wild. This theme adds an extra layer of excitement and captivates the young minds, ensuring hours of endless fun. The only reason I didn't give this park a full five stars is that I noticed a few areas where regular maintenance could have been improved. Nonetheless, it didn't significantly impact the overall experience. The park staff were attentive and helpful, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Overall, this kids park designed for children aged 2-5 years old is a true gem. With its inclusive features, ample shade, well-padded grounds, picnic area, educational signage, and captivating nautical theme, it's a haven for young adventurers to explore, learn, and play. I highly recommend this park to parents and caregivers who are seeking a safe, engaging, and delightful experience for their little ones.

I recently visited Huffman Boulevard Park, and I must say that the playground area left a positive impression. The combination of artificial turf and rubberized ground cover was a great choice, providing a safe and enjoyable surface for children to play on. The large canopy sail shades were a thoughtful addition, offering shade throughout the day as the sun moved. The playground itself was a sensory delight, with various activities like spinning merry-go-rounds, swings, seesaws, hammocks, musical bells, flowers, and drums. It's clear that there's a lot of thought put into creating a diverse play experience. However, my visit was marred by the disappointing state of the restrooms. The neutral family bathroom was locked, and the men's and women's individual restrooms were in terrible condition, with litter, urine, and even feces, making them unbearable to enter. The ammonia smell was particularly off-putting coming from the closed doors as you walked by. On a positive note, the playground equipment itself was new and well-maintained. Still, I couldn't help but notice the need for some tidying up in the surrounding areas. Pine needles and leaves were scattered everywhere, and litter was under the ship ramps and near the wooded areas. Despite these shortcomings, I appreciate the presence of a soccer field and basketball court, although I can not speak to their conditions. It's disheartening to see the restrooms in such a state when the playground is bustling with activity. If I were to return, I would definitely make sure to use the restroom beforehand. Overall, Huffman Boulevard Park has great potential, but attention to maintenance and cleanliness is crucial to enhance the overall experience for visitors.
Playground
Yes very nice.
Restrooms
Yes but extremely filthy and unfit to use.
Picnic area
Covered shelter and picnic tables.

Limited parking. Most days we have to leave kids and park somewhere. Great place and well maintained park. Kids enjoy playing a lot, basketball players smoke publicly. Some elder kids bully smaller kids and their parents are not controlling them. Some parents allow their elder kids to carry and wear wolverines and they hurt small kids. Parents Need to take care of aggressive kids troubling others instead of making conversations with other similar parents. No parents are controlling these big kids and some parents use the swings meant for kids. If they want to play it should be after the children play but it’s not the way parents play when kids are waiting for their turn. Be mindful that the park and swings and slides are made for kids and leave it for kids. Slides are occupied with some kids and not allowing other kids to play. Parents need to know the reality that it’s not their own property and it’s public. Soccer fields are well maintained. Skating arena is excellent. Overall it’s good except those issues I mentioned above.

This has become our favorite go-to park! It's small enough for my toddlers but big enough they don't get bored. I love that it's nestled in trees for shade but also makes it somewhat enclosed so everyone can easily be kept track of. The equipment can get pretty got but the shade helps with some of it. The pirate ship structure provides my kids with endless imaginative play! They do their best to keep it clean but I've noticed people leave it TRASHED on the weekends, makes me so sad. Their sensory garden is my sons favorite thing but it had died off quite a bit, again, finding a lot of trash in it regularly. The walking trail around it is nice and mostly shaded, makes for a good, shorter trail for riding bikes or scooters with young kids!

I haven’t been to Huffman Boulevard Park in a while, and it’s looking so good! They have a newer children’s park that looks absolutely amazing, and although it’s small, there’s a lot to do. There’s a soccer field, basketball court, tennis court, and walking path on top of the park. There’s no dog park, but I closed the gate to the tennis court and let my dog run around inside. He had a great time navigating the nets. I wouldn’t take off points for this, but if you’re looking for something solitary, this probably isn’t the place. There were a lot of people here. Just something to think about if that matters to you. If you’re into ice cream trucks (like I am lol), it came around 5 pm on a weekday, and he took Apple Pay!

  • Evelia Ross

Beautiful beautiful park, in a good neighborhood and great for all ages. I come here all the time with the whole family. We play tennis, my boy can play basketball and they have a nice track to run for those runners. Has a really nice shaded park area for the little ones with benches around the outside for parents to sit. The only thing this park could fix is the bathrooms. It is one big family bathroom but it is very dirty Im pretty sure no different from other public parks but overall it is a clean park and they have plenty of trash cans throughout the park. Also has a big pavilion where you can BBQ.

  • Ashley Kean

The playground is under construction so there is NO playground in Fall 2020. There are basketball courts, tennis courts, a short boardwalk leading to a sidewalk loop around the soccer fields. Spectator bleachers for the gated soccer fields are shaded! Yay! There is a paved slab inaccessible to vehicles between the parking lot and boardwalk - Skateboard? Roller hockey? Chalk art? The woods between the boardwalk and tennis courts are sketchy with used items and alcohol containers. The whole park is dirty, needing repairs, weeding, and garbage pickup. It could be lovely.. with a little love and attention.

  • Megan L

This park is so gross.. Over the past few months this park has rapidly declined due to the large homeless population living in the surrounding woods. Every bathroom is soaked wall to wall with urine; they’re absolutely disgusting and everything is broken. The landscaping hasn’t been maintained and there’s trash and graffiti everywhere. The play area is covered in mold. We’ve found snot and fecal matter (poop) on play sets. Benches are unusable. Every trash can is permanently overflowing. We won’t be coming back anymore as the city has simply forgotten about this park.

  • M Parret

Nice park with plenty of parking and a huge field next door. Male, female and family bathrooms available. At the time of our visit the women's bathroom door did not lock and there was no soap in the dispenser but the air hand dryer was functional. The park itself has a sun shade, several swings including two swings that are chair shaped with a harness. This park has a springy floor, lots of space to run around, toys that spin, jungle gyms to climb and music makers. It's worth a visit if you need a new place to adventure.

  • Kayla Abbott

The playground was perfect for my kids and I ran around it on the trail while they played!! Perfect for parents looking to be active but have young kids they need to keep an eye on and stay close to. Exactly what I was looking for! Also well lit and the bathrooms are next to the playground. There is even a gazebo under some trees with several picnic tables so perfect for a little birthday party or picnic! Will definitely be a new favorite spot!

  • Khalideo

I Wish They Would Upgrade The Turf On The Football/Soccer Field Because It Just Seems They Could Have Capacity For So Much Activity And Traffic With The Various Leagues. Another Good Idea For This Park Would Be To Give The Basketball & Tennis Courts An Enclosure As Well As Level The Court Grounds, And Expand & Extend The Parking Lot Dimensions Across The Street & Connect Into A New Multi-Connected FSCJ & Huffman Blvd. Parking Annex!

  • Sienna Parocha

I bring☀️my little brother‍♂️to this playground often and wasexcited to seeit newly renovated! The architects‍‍did an amazing job on improving Huffman park. Although the playground is just a small portion of the entire park. There is also a ‍♀️trail, basketball⛹‍♀️court, tenniscourt, and a soccer⚽️field. You and your family‍‍‍willsurely enjoythis park!

  • Bridgette Newman

This is a wonderfully designed park. The walking trail is easy to access and shady enough to not be to hot. Wonderful grounds great for relaxing picnicking. Onsite rest rooms lots of places to enjoy views of woods with frequent benches for sitting. Live this park and I will definitely go back
Playground
Cute as playground
Dog-friendliness
Saw many dogs
Picnic area
A lot of options for picnicking many tables and benches

  • Lia Fuller

This is a wonderful park! The play equipment is so fun, there are some designed like ships, various types of swings, slides, sensory play/music markers, sensory garden, walking paths, tennis court and soccer field! There are public bathrooms and there is play equipment that is handicap accessible. There are benches and a pavilion to eat under. Absolutely awesome park! One of our favorites in Jax!

  • May Arvin

Lots of outdoor things to do (kids or adults). Playground, basketball court, soccer field, biking / walking paths. Plenty of parking. A covered area with 2 tables for birthday parties. Trash cans needed to be emptied when we were there at 10 am on a Sunday morning for a girls' birthday party. Restrooms needed work (cleanliness, fixtures).
Restrooms
Needed work (cleanliness)

  • Britney Batts

Clean, fun awesome park. Only one problem where the kids play area is they have the soccer field on the other side. Today was my first time there and a soccer ball hit my twin stroller knocking everything I had in the cup holders out. It could've hit one of my little ones. No one said anything. They need to add some serious height to the fence before someone seriously get hurt.

  • Dez Canque

I love the Huffman Park is the best for children and for adults to exercise. One disturbing art/drawing I saw the other day at the 3rd table next to the children's play ground that I don't feel safe anymore. I hope the Park staff will check what's going from time to time. It will be so sad if the City allows someone to ruin the beautiful Huffman Park. Thank you!

  • Keith Sampson

This is one of our favorite parks to take our 1 year old I just wish there wasn't so much neglect to keep it clean (it's not just on the city people shouldn't be so inconsiderate)
Playground
It has a rubber like surface around the play areas but whatever isn't rubber within the sidewalk boundary is AstroTurf so it's less likely for kids to get injured

  • Cynthia Johnson

They just renovated this park..and the bathrooms.. recently and it is now fabulous for kids up to about age 10...any age after that the equipment is not made for. But I love the fake grass landing, the boat/ sea theme now. It is multi sensory and has musical instruments built in as well. The younger ones and kids with special needs have a blast!

  • K5's Rule

The park has an excellent playground for kids with a large shade covering which is really nice. It also has artificial turf and a soft rubber ground covering over the play area. It has a nautical theme with multiple "pirate" ships to play on and a large whale statue to climb on. It's finally one of if not the nicest public parks in the area.

  • Sarah Harrett

This park has so much potential! It was filthy, there was trash everywhere. I took my young son because the pictures online looked great. When I got there I was disappointed. The playground area is worn down and needs some basic maintenance and cleaning. I think if small things like trash clean up and maintenance it could be really lovely.

  • Dianna Langford

One of the best parks we have been to. In a long, there is no dart. The ground is like a cuthen. All the equipment works. There's a place that you can sit down and watch your children play. There is also a basketball court if you have older children that they can go over and play on. And there's actually bathrooms that are open.

  • Kariela Lazo

Cute park. The theme of the park is on the sea. So slides, swins, there are two with active for the little ones, instruments to make music etc. The kids enjoyed playing with each other just make sure u look after your kids since there are big kids too. Sometimes they will be nice with the little one other times not. …

  • Seandré Spears

Such an improvement from what it was! Not that it was horrible, but it's just so much fun for my two youngest. My two oldest are jealous that it didn't look like this when they were young lol lots to do, lots to play with, it accommodates so many children where they all can find something fun to do.

  • Tammy Trigg

Nice park, bathrooms are disgusting. Garbage cans full of water. I think they need better maintenance/cleaning crew. It would be nice to be able to reserve the pavilion for family events instead of who sends someone out early in the AM to sit there and hold the space until the time the party begins.

  • Cherrie Alfonso

Great-sized park! It has two basketball courts, two tennis courts, soccer/football field, cement landing for various activities (hopscotch, tag, etc.), playground with gazebo for parents/guardians and the sidewalk around the park is about a third of a mile plus plenty of parking spaces!

  • Ronda Raulerson

This is one of the best park's I have been, the kids play areas is fantastic nicely fixed with fake grass and tarps over play things and musical instruments, trail, soccer, basketball grills and table's.
Playground
Wonderful play are
Picnic area
Nice shade picnic tables

  • Robert O'Gorman

This is an exceptional park with plenty to do I'm amazed at the amenities that are here to offer and the outward approach the city has to engage and fitness and health and I diverse neighborhood. Northeast Soccer club is on site. The play equipment is overly safe compared to my day.

  • Frank Edwards

Family oriented park with new equipment recently installed and onsite bathroom. There's a soccer field, basketball court, tennis court and walking course that wraps around the entire park. Usually pretty quiet but even if it's not there always space to get a good workout in.

  • Marina Zap

Wonderful park. Best park in jax. Love the fake grass keeps it clean around the playground. So many areas of stimulation, like the slides and the xylophones. Perfect for my daughter, she's almost 3 and she loves it every time. Every station she stops at is fun.

  • Hector Rodriguez

One of the best park around and the kids love it, From what I notice they had improved the playground because I see old pictures, they should do the same with other parks and this park is really popular for birthday celebration, they should add an extra Tables.

  • Shanna Charette

Perfect spot to kill time before the office or on lunch to relax, exercise, etc. Nice concrete path that trails around the whole park. Basketball, tennis, kids playground area, open field. Tables with benches, stand alone benches. Peaceful, rarely crowded.

  • Sheila Alfiche

We love the park, and it is geared towards 2 to 5 yo . Which is perfect for my granddaughter. It's very popular for birthdays. The only complaint we have is people don't pick up after there party. Trash everywhere. We don't go on Mondays or weekends. Lol

  • Thomas Finch

Has a sidewalk around the outside that works for jogging or walking, a bball court, playground, and soccer field. Small eating area. Ample parking. Clean. No great views or trails. Overall average I would say and useful mostly for the utility it offers.

  • Daniel Tudor

Playground looked nice in the pictures but the park was closed with caution tape when we arrived. The bathrooms were overflowing with urine and feces and were unusable. Grass area around park is dirty with lots of trash (used condemns, beer cans, etc)

  • Caron Johnson

The renovations to this park are outstanding. We drive here from the beach because of how much fun it is. Sensory garden. Music making. Climbing. Pretend play. So much fun! (Just don’t use the restrooms… but that pretty much goes for any public park)

  • Michelle P

Lovely park for all ages. Swings for my 10 month old that cannot walk yet. 1 star off because the playground is next to a field and when people are playing soccer, there is no fence to stop the ball from slamming into children. Chaos. Fence please!!

  • Anastasiia Maistrenko

Playground was renovated winter 2020, now it is a very lovely park with shades. Two slides-pirate ships, swings, musical part: drums, musical flowers. Really lovely place. They may need to renovate picnic tables, one is really damaged, but it is ok.

  • Tiffany Kersey

Loved the sidewalk learning walk. It was littered with trash while we were there. But I assumed it was because they removed all the trash cans for the hurricane. The clean up crew arrived while we were playing and had the place looking AMAZING!

  • Katherine Summers Kanupp

This park is huge with lots of fun playground equipment, bathrooms, and a large covered picnic area. It is clean and well kept. My kids had a blast running from one pirate ship to another. It can get crowded at certain times of the day though.

  • Carol Brown

This used to be my favorite park but it’s definitely gone down hill. A lot more broken things, dirty bathrooms & now bees are making the park their home. Hard pass
Playground
Better than some but going downhill
Restrooms
Dirty

  • ricardo m

Pretty small park but they have a little bit of everything, basketball ball , tennis, side walk for walking, etc, it was pretty messy with trash everywhere but it's probably because of the government shutdown. The bathrooms are disgusting.

  • catherand carter

Perfect playground for littles. My daughter is a year and loved it. We try to go super early before the sun is too bad because its not fully shaded. Bright side is that the ground is a material that doesnt get too hot and is mess free.

  • Ricarda Hill

Very clean and fun park for kids, teenagers as well as the adults. They have a playground of all sorts, a huge field, basketball n tennis courts as well. Also has a trail to walk if you please. Very much recommended ☺️

  • Bethany Scully

Nice, peaceful park. Lots of fun educational games that are in the signs. They help kids with their imagination. Fun for kids of all ages. They have a basket ball court and a trail to walk as well. Plenty of parking.

  • Roku H

Very lovely park. It has soccer field, tennis and basketball courts, and playground for the kids. Just don't use the restrooms unless you have to. City really needs to hire a good janitor to clean them every day.

  • Derrick The Gator Riverboat

Wow! First time visiting this park. Its nice! Well kept, spacious, there's a basketball court, baseball and an open field for football or soccer. On a beautiful day, this is the park you should take the kids to!

  • Michelle Drackert

New equipment and great for little kids. Most of the equipment is covered from the sun. There is even an ice cream truck that stops here on a regular basis. Parking is an issue on Saturdays during soccer though.

  • Albena Maslinkova

This is such a great park, almost entirely shaded and surprisingly breezy. The equipment is fun amd engaging and the ground is entirely soft foam and some fake grass. Lots of seating for parents as well.

  • james krawczyk

Some rude parents and children kinda ruined our experience. Parents acted like they didn't speak English while their child pushed mine out of the way. He was an older kid, mine is 17 months old.......

  • Propsterr

go here all the time and has a family friendly park, tennis court, basketball court, & soccer field. also has a lo6oo around the park you can walk and a little flat concrete area that you can skate.

  • Tori Johnson

Very nice park and really great smaller kids equipment. It was moderately clean and lots of people there. My issue was the bathroom, it was completely disgusting and was filthy and smelled horrible.

  • Paul Kolostroubis

Nice, exciting place for little ones to enjoy! It has a playground, soccer fields, a picnic area and walkways. It would be more impressive if the parties held there cleaned up after themselves.

  • Sarah Sutton

Great place, wonderful playground and facilities. The bathrooms aren’t great but it’s a park for kids so I didn’t expect them to be. I always bring sanitary products and our own TP and towels.

  • Amber Brown

I’m quite speechless on how dirty this park was! Trash quite literally everywhere. Wanted to try out a new park but never have put my kid back in the car so quickly. Do better jacksonville!

  • Tracey Martin

Compact. Nice walking park also 2 tennis courts and basketball courts. Redoing soccer field. Should be nice when finished. The wooden bridge needs work. Some loose boards and rotted ones.

  • Sherri Starkes

Went there to shoot some hoops. Two full courts, soccer field, playground w/swings, slide and jungle gym. Bathrooms and plenty of parking.
Playground
Well equipped playground.

  • Ashley Herrin (Redashes00)

Great park with something for everyone. New playground fits little ones all the way to I'd say 10 year Olds. Soccer field, basketball courts, skate area and short trail for walking.

  • Shatavia Eady

This is a really nice park. The bathrooms here are awful and you can smell them on the playground. You never see anyone use them. The park is very clean and kids love playing here.

  • Heather & Jaxon

Fabulous sensory park ....since being redone (2021) so much shade and so much for kids to do musical fun plush ground. Definitely a favorite park on the Southside Jacksonville❤️

  • Lisa Pease

I love this park. They have a play ground for little kids. They have a track for walking or running also basketball court. You can also have your child's birthday party there.

  • Paul Pope III

This park is like a hidden gem, you gotta check it out. Great place to have a birthday party. You could have like 50 people up there and still have the whole park to play in.

  • Krista Gambala

Since they updated the park, it is much nicer, cleaner, and feels safer. Our last visit had a lot more people than times before. I am delighted that the park was updated.

  • Angela Batchelor Lewis

This place was amazing. I wish they had a park like this when I was a kid. So much fun. Only downside was it was a bit overcrowded. Other than that my boy had a blast.

  • Ruth Davis

Cute park, although the restrooms don't have changing tables and need lots of maintenance. Cleanness also depends on people who goes to the park, but they're terrible.

  • Bridget Portune

This is a pretty great park. There's 2 huge challenging jungle gyms with lots of slides and climbing stuff. It's well maintained and has bathrooms and water fountains.

  • Heywood Joanne

Plenty of grass for a pickup soccer or football game. Basketball courts always busy with games. Nice area for kids to play. Bathrooms could use some more attention.

  • Jay Kirtsey

It is such a cute and fun park. Soft turf. Covering for shade. Benches. Basketball court. Open field. Restrooms. And more. Bring the whole family. We love it!

  • Karla D.

This is a beautiful park with so many fun things for kids to play with. They really put thought into designing a safe space with safe equipment for the kids.

  • Kelly

Needed to be cleaned. Trash was not emptied and falling all over the ground. Parking is always an issue here but there are a lot of play areas for all ages.

  • Fearfully & Wonderfully

Our 2nd favorite park here in jax!!! Newly renovated and rocking our neighborhood!!! Families are always here keeping the park lively and entertaining!!!

  • Serrina

Peaceful and you can usually chill or move without being trolled by whomever. Of course be mindful of respecting other folks trying to enjoy park also.

  • Ari Banda

Lots of nice shade and cool things for the kids to play on, they also have handicap friendly things which is nice and it has great seating for parents

  • Black Cobra

Good for young children and toddlers. Lots of play equipment. Could use some cleaning up on the grounds. Cleaning up would make it a 5-star park

  • Lana AK

Such an amazing park, we love to come to this park with my toddler. Also shade they have over the playground is such a plus in our Florida sun!

  • A Dawson

No one can get hurt at this playground-unless you're not looking where you're going. I would NOT use the bathrooms, they are dirty and smelly.

  • Lidija Basheska

A nice, little park. I didn't give it 5 star, because there was a bunch of very loud kids. But they were happy about the nice playground …

  • Bogdan Pshichenko

Simple and obscure but has walking 0.4 miles circle, playground, soccer field, basketball, tennis, plenty of parking. Really nice place
